        To predict the size of fire in the building, it was conducted a real fire experiment with a manufactured mock-up that had unit block size of 2.44 (L) × 3.6 (W) × 2.4 (H) m. The real fire testing was proceeded under scenario in which the fire starts from trash and is spread to all of real inflammable materials put beforehand inside the unit block such as bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. As a experimental result, the fire grew rapidly about 120 seconds after the ignition, whose maximum heat release rate was 2658.9 kW.

        An efficient and practical reliability analysis method is required for the development of reliability-based design (RBD) guidelines of coastal structures. Such a novel method is presented in this paper. It is capable of evaluating reliability of real complicated coastal structures considering uncertainties in various sources of design parameters. It is developed by intelligently integrating the Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) method and the finite element method (FEM). The applicability and efficiency of the proposed method are verified using a caisson-type quay wall. in the numerical example.

        In this study, experimental research was carried out to study the structural performance of slab-column joints designed by the application of reducing of joint regions damage using steel fiber reinforced concrete. Test results showed that specimens(RCFPS series) were increased the maximum load-carrying capacity by 1.12~1.23 times and showed stable hysteresis behavior in comparison with the standard specimen(SRCFP).

        In this study, a structural health monitoring methodology using acceleration responses is proposed for damage detection of a three-story prototype building structure during shaking table testing. A damage index is developed using the acceleration data and applied to outlier analysis, one of unsupervised learning based pattern recognition methods. A threshold value for the outlier analysis is determined based on confidence level of the probabilistic distribution of the acceleration data. The probabilistic distribution is selected according to the feature of the collected data.

        In this paper, structural analysis and causual analysis of superstructure horizontal displacement by retaining wall displacement is realized, as a result, it is considered that retaining wall displacement by soft soil and lateral flow pressure occurred in the soft soil affect superstructure horizontal displacement. Although resistance force is slightly larger than the action force when reviewing superstructure safety, it is considered that repair and reinforce are necessary when considering safety factor with respect to the difficulty of estimating accurate load, and the uncertainty of soil condition.

        In this study response modification factors of rectangular reinforced concrete staggered wall system (SWS) structures were evaluated according to ATC-63. The adjusted collapse margin ratios of the model structures obtained from incremental dynamic analyses turned out to be larger than the specified limit states, which implies that the analysis model structures have enough safety margin for collapse against design level earthquakes. It also was concluded that the response modification factor, 6 used in the design of the model structures was valid.

        Seismic risk assessment of staggered wall system structures is presented using fragility curves which represent the probability of damage of structure. To obtain fragility curves, dynamic analysis were carried out using twenty two pairs of earthquake records. For the risk assessment, spectral accelerations are obtained for various return periods from the seismic hazard map of Korea, which enable to calculate the probability density function of spectral accelerations.

        Utilization of the fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) material has been enlarged as a substitution material to the general construction materials having certain long-term problems such as corrosion, etc. However, it could be difficult to apply the FRP material, which has a linear shape generally, to an arch or circle-shaped structure. Therefore, an attempt has been made in this study to develop a device to form a designed cross section of FRP material by pulling out with a curvature. A member of the curved FRP product was successfully produced and then strengthened intake tower by curved FRP members.

        Structural Performance Test of FRP-Concrete Composite Deck according to Existence of Shear Connecting Plates by Long Term Exposure was performed to study the Performance Evaluation.         In this study the progressive collapse behaviors of helical buildings were evaluated by nonlinear static and dynamic analysis. 36-story diagrid buildings with twist angles of 0, 90 and 180 degrees were designed as analysis model and progressive collapse analyses were carried out by removing first-story columns. The analysis results showed that helical buildings designed per current design codes generally had enough resistance to progressive collapse caused by the sudden loss of corner columns in the diagrid system.

        To check the serviceability of K-UHPC structures, we need the guideline for the allowed crack width in various environment. To setup the guideline, direct tensile test of reinforced K-UHPC tensile members was implemented. The test results show very small crack width, and the allowed values for the ordinary concrete can be used for K-UHPC structures.

        Experimental observations and theoretical predictions were presented for a total of 8 reinforced concrete wall with all sides being exposed to ISO standard heating curve. In the modeling of wall axial deformation under constant load at varying elevated temperature conditions, numerical models on heat transfer and spalling were considered along with the mechanical model. Based on the model, preditions on the fire resistance of the bearing wall under the axial load was presented.

        The purpose of this study is to develop structral technologies on the lightweight composite slab systems with sound reduction layers in the modular house. In this study, two kinds of slabs with minimum thickness was suggested reducing the floor impact sound. In order to evaluate the structural performance, the flexural strenth tests were carried out on the one-way full scale specimens. From the results of test, we know that the proposed slabs had ductile behavior and would be safe sufficiently.

        In this paper, we present the results of investigations pertaining to the structural behavior of egg-shaped pipe buried underground. Mechanical properties of pvc sample taken from the egg-shaped pipe are tested according to KS M 3006. Test results are used in the finite element simulation for the structural behavior of the egg-shaped pvc pipe buried underground. Maximum stress obtained at the pipe is compared with the maximum strength of pvc pipe material. It was found that the egg-shaped pvc pipe buried underground is safe.

        A composite structural system which combines the advantages of reinforced concrete and steel structure is a structural system that has superior performance compared to the existing structural systems. In recent years, according to the increasing of attention for composite structures, the researches for the composite structures are more carried out. The composite beam used in this study is consisted of pre-cast concrete, cast-in-place concrete, T-type steel, and reinforcing bars. The steels are only used in each ends of the beam. In this study, the reasonable steels length at the ends of the beam is analyzed by structural performance analysis for changing in the length of the steel.

        By thermal-structural coupled stress analysis, the equivalent stress and total deformation of girder under the influence of the temperature of the liquid within pipeline of pipe-rack structure is studied. Firstly, steady-state thermal analysis is carried out using a commercial software. Then, to perform a thermal-structural coupled stress solution, structural analysis is linked to the thermal model at the Solution level. The simulation results showed that the stress ratio that considers the pipe’s temperature for thermal-structural coupled stress analysis is higher than the stress ratio that consider only the pipe’s weight for structural analysis. The thermal stress caused by temperature convection is found to be influential on the pipe rack structure.
