        The load of a maglev train, which is being considered a future transportation, is uniformly loaded on a levitated surface of a rail unlike a typical train because the maglev train is magnetically levitated and propelled. In addition, the driving performance is superior since the maglev train doesn't directly contact the railway. A integrated track system, to which a sleeper is installed toward a longitudinal direction instead of a perpendicular direction, is suggested, considering this loading characteristic. The longitudinal sleeper of this system is expected to contribute to stiffness increase of a bridge and weight-reduction of a girder. In this study, the structural characteristics of proposed and typical systems have been numerically compared and analyzed. In addition, the improvement of the integrated system has been proposed.

        The load of a magnetic railway is uniformly loaded on a levitated surface of the rail. So it is advantageous for noise and vibration compared to the typical railway systems. But for ensuring driving stability and ride-quality, regulation about the gap of rail is stricter than the typical railway. In this study, the impact of bracket, which can control the gap of rail at the integrated track system, have numerically been performed. Also, the effect of interval of the bracket installed in the longitudinal direction of the integrated track system, which consist of girder, bracket, sub rail and levitated rail, have been compared and analyzed. Through this, applicability of the bracket structure for integrated track system have been identified.

        In this study, a real-scale specimen of Steel-Confined Prestressed Concrete (SCP) composite girder was tested in a three points bending. Furthermore, vibration tests were performed to verify the dynamic stability of the SCP composite girder for railway bridges. The results of the experimental test were similar to stable rigidity behavior until the static actuator limit load (6300 kN). That is, the SCP composite girder showed a stable rigidity behavior in the ultimate load (3,174 kN) as well as the service load (1,076 kN). Finally, the possibility of resonance of the SCP composite girder has been found to be low.

        Universal Design involves designing products and spaces so that they can be used by the widest range of people possible. Universal Design evolved from Accessible Design, a design process that addresses the needs of people with disabilities. This paper introduces the universal design concept through analysis of causes of railway accident within the urban railway station. Railway accident analysis was performed by the internal facilities. We analyzed the standard of accident type, accident cause and accident subject such as elevator, escalator, stairs etc.

        IR camera has been used widely for the temperature measurement and fault detection of the moving bodies and rotating bodies. The high-speed performance of the IR camera and a reliable thermal analysis method are required for the condition monitoring of the railway vehicle running at high speed. The effective fault detection method using a thermal image analysis could make a real time monitoring of the high speed train possible. Therefore the investigation of the performance of the thermal image analysis method was performed to find the effective thermal image data analysis method. The results suggested that the comparison of the characteristics of the temperatures obtained at different conditions and a continuous temperature subtraction method could be used as a useful analysis method for detecting abnormal temperature condition and histogram equalization could also help to enhance the fault detectability by increasing the contrast of the thermal image

        This study highlights the theme of human error of train drivers, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between organizational culture, safety climates, safety behavior, and accident. The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship conflict and psychological reward as the elements of organizational culture variables showed a significant positive effect on CEO philosophy, communication, and boss's leadership. And only boss's leadership showed a positive influence on safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with accidents.

        Modern systems can be characterized by ever-increasing complexity of both the functionality and system scale. Thus, due to the complexity the chances of accidents resulting from systems failure can then be growing. Even worse is that those accidents could result in disastrous damage to the human being and properties as well. Therefore, the need for the developed systems to be assured with systems safety is apparent in a variety of industries such as rail, automobiles, airplanes, ships, oil refinery, chemical production plants, and so on. To this end, in the industry an appropriate safety standard has been published for its own safety-assured products. One of the core activities included in the most safety standards is hazard analysis. A conventional approach to hazard analysis seems to depend upon the scenarios derived from the ones used previously in similar systems or based on former experience. The objective of this paper is to study an improved process for scenario-based hazard analysis. To achieve the goal, the top-level safety requirements have first been reflected in the scenarios. By analyzing and using them, the result has then lead to the development of safety-assured systems. The method of modeling and simulation has been adopted in the generation and verification of scenarios to check whether the safety requirements are reflected properly in the scenarios. Application of the study result in the case of rail safety assurance has also been discussed.

        The train noise and vibration nearby the elevated railway make one specific issue. For the elevated railway, this paper concerns vibration by the bridge. this paper presents vibration level of vibration source of train. The prediction model gives the effects of ground attenuation, and barrier attenuation of noise. The acceleration array method is used to search vibration propagation characteristics of elevated structure to predict the vibration propagation from an elevated railway. Based on the results, this paper proposes the source model of elevated structure-borne vibration and the calculation model for elevated railway vibration. Also measure results are presented with rolling vibration and elevated structure vibration.

        본 연구는 감정노동의 연구대상을 좀 더 다양한 산업으로 확대할 필요성이 있어 지금까지 연구되지 않았던 철도여행인솔자 288명을 대상으로 이들의 감정노동을 내면행동과 표면행동으로 구분하여 부정적결과인 감정부조화와 긍정적 결과인 직무만족에 각각 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고, 감정노동과 직무만족과의 관계에서 감정부조화의 매개효과와 감정노동과 감정부조화의 관계에서 감정표현규범몰입의 조절효과를 실증 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 우선, 철도여행인솔자의 내면행동은 감정부조화에 부(-)의 영향을, 표면행동은 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직무만족에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 내면행동은 정(+)의 영향을, 표면행동은 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 감정부조화는 직무만족에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 감정부조화의 매개효과를 분석한 결과 내면행동과 표면행동 모두 감정부조화를 부분매개하여 직무만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 감정표현규범몰입의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 감정표현규범몰입은 내면행동으로 인한 감정부조화에는 유의한 조절효과를 보이지 않았으나, 표면행동으로 인한 감정부조화는 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 이론적 및 실무적 시사점을 도출하였으며, 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

        Korean societal concern for the train accidents is fast and widely increasing with an ever-increasing demand and use for KTX. Most of these train accidents are inclined to be caused by human error. Experts used to attribute the causes of human error to the defects in various aspects such as technology, organizational system, practices, corporate culture, and/or human resource itself. Among the diverse causes of human error, an important one, even though it was rarely focused, may be the issue of impact of rule or procedure change on human error. Giving attention to the implicit importance of this issue, this study intends to highlight the theme of frequent procedure change in railway driving manual as a critical factor of human error. To attain this purpose mentioned above, dual methodologies were adopted. One is to qualitatively analyze the real cases of procedure change in relevant manuals followed by the incident case(passing the station scheduled to stop) happened lately. Another is to quantitatively perform statistical analysis based on questionnaires received from 224 train drivers. Results show that frequent changes in internal affairs procedure is or may be an important factor causing stress and human error from train drivers.

        Advanced Safety Management System(SMS) of Korea Railroad Corporation for risk management should be established applying contents-centered domestic standard according to Railway Safety Act and process-centered international standards suggested by Lloyd's Register Company. Besides, laws, regulations, guidelines and manuals which are optimized for each sector should be systematically integrated to strengthen the consistency of SMS of KORAIL. New safety regulations and guidelines for safety management/train operations/maintenance should be established according to the safety policy of KORAIL to boost effective field work by regulations, guidelines, manuals, etc. The advanced Safety Management System will lead KORAIL as a competent global enterprise with its boosted reputation in the international railway market.

        This study tried to propose plan to prevent human error of railroad driver among human error of railroad worker which takes great share in railroad accident. For this, in order to maintain correlation between the accident actually occurred after the opening of high-speed railroad and experience of accident that did not happened, survey on respondent was analyzed by conducting survey on KTX captain who is working in driving work of high-speed railroad, and instruction management team manager who manages KTX captain and captain. This thesis classified the factors by human factor, job factor, environment factor, organization factor, and established human error management model by comparing and analyzing how each factors have spatial interrelations with a railroad accident. The purpose of this study is to contribute to make safe railroad, and reliable railroad by preventing human error accident by minimizing human error of high-speed railroad drivers, and improving driving workers to cope accurately and fast with irregularities through various institutional improvement, improvement of driving facilities, improvement of operating room environment, and improvement of education system.

        본 연구는 영등포역을 통과한 고속열차가 ‘왜 통과를 했을까?’ 에 의문을 갖고 연구 를 하게 되었다. 승객의 증대에 따라 열차의 운행횟수가 증가할수록 장애나 사고에의 노출 또한 증대된다는 것은 어쩌면 당연한 것이라 하겠다. 열차가 차량기지에서 정비를 마치고 KTX기장(기관사)에게 인계되면 운행이 개시되 는데 열차가 운행하기 위해서는 약 9~10개의 사규를 적용받게 된다. 특히 운전과 관계 된 사규는 열차안전운행에 매우 중요한 필수적인 내용을 포함하고 있기 때문에 KTX 기장(기관사)은 이를 장기간에 걸쳐 암기하게 되는데, 응급을 요하는 상황이 발생할 경우 몇 년간 숙달된 예전의 사규와 새로이 변경된 사규의 혼동으로 인해 기장(기관 사)은 상당한 부담감을 느끼게 되며 적절한 사고조치를 취해야 하는 상황에서 많은 기 장(기관사)들이 심적 스트레스 상황에 노출되어 있다. 그 동안 장애나 사고가 발생하 면 그에 대한 대처는 제도나 시스템 개선보다는 인적보완으로 이루어지는 경향이 있 었다. 그렇기에 사규의 개정이 휴먼에러의 유발에 기여하는 측면은 없는지, 또한 휴먼 에러를 유발시킨다면 어떤 인과관계가 있는지를 발견해 사전에 휴먼에러를 저감시킨 다는 것은 매우 중요한 국면이다. 제357열차의 영등포역 통과사례를 토대로 제도적, 인간적, 시스템적 및 규정개정의 문제 등을 분석하여 각 측면의 문제점을 보완하고 개선함으로써 휴먼에러의 발생을 최소화하고 열차의 안전운행을 제고에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        Abstract In Korean society, the theme of human errors in railway has been emerging as a critical issue. As far as human error studies are concerned, main trend has been inclined to be led by industrial engineering and systems science. Apart from those trends, this study empirically highlighted the relationship between depression, which has been a frequent research subject in the medical science and psychology, and accidents, with setting depression as an exogenous variable and cognitive failure and mistake as endogenous variables, respectively. Results of hypotheses test for the 204 respondents showed that driver's depression has a significant effect on accidents mediated by cognitive failure and mistake. This findings suggest the need for exploring the diverse latent factors causing human errors and for understanding the complex cognitive process as well as for establishing integrative countermeasures to mitigate human errors.

        Because the damages of corrosion resulting from the chloride ion are very serious, many research studies have been performed to measure the penetration depth of the chloride ion. However, there is a problem with data selection obtained from collection during experiments. In this study, it appears that the collected data are not conformed to a normal distribution. The result of this study will play a very important role, as a first step for the development and construction of a forecasting system to help determine a reliable service lifetime of marine structures.

        Recent trends in rail industry can be characterized by the multifunctionality and very high-speed modes of operations. In particular, the adoption of the unmaned or operatorless operations has been getting increased attention in which case ensuring systems safety is crucial. On the other hand, according to the result of analyzing rail accidents, the human/operator errors have turned out to be one of the key causes of the accidents. Therefore, the effort of improving the work environment of locomotive cabs is quite necessary in order to decrease the accidents. The objective of this paper is studying on how to incorporate the factors related to the train operators in the design of the locomotive cabs and also on how to evaluate the design results obtained, which is subsequently reflected in the generation of the test and evaluation procedure. The approach taken is based on systems engineering, yielding the procedure document as a result. The results obtained in the paper can be useful in confirming the design of locomotive cabs utilizing the domestic human/operator measure. Also, the way of achieving the objectives can be utilized to cover the expanded rail systems development with appropriate design activities added.

        오늘날 기술의 발전으로 시스템들은 점차 대형화 복잡화 되어가고 있다. 이처럼 점차 대형화 복잡화 되어가고 있는 시스템들은 더욱 커진 사고 및 고장에 대한 위험을 내재하게 된다. 또한 대형 복합 시스템에서 발생하는 사고 및 고장은 바로 큰 재산피해나 인명피해와 직결 될 수 있다. 따라서 체계적인 안전관리의 필요성이 점차 커지고 있다. 이에 대응하여 철도, 항공, 해양 등의 산업에서는 각 산업에 적합한 안전관리체계를 수립하려 노력하고 있으며, 표준 및 매뉴얼을 제정하여 보급에 앞장서고 있다. 또한 시스템에서 전장품 및 소프트웨어가 차지하는 비중이 커지면서 기능안전이 안전분야의 이슈가 되고 있다. 이에 따라 IEC 61508, ISO 26262, IEC 61511 등 기능안전 관련 표준들이 제정되어 기능안전을 달성하기 위한 기반을 제공하고 있다. 한편 국내 철도산업에서도 철도안전법의 재정을 기점을 철도 산업전반에 걸쳐 많은 환경변화가 이뤄지고 있고 이에 대응하기 위해 철도 안전시스템을 바탕으로 한 안전관리체계를 구축하였다. 한편 다양한 운영체계를 갖고 있는 철도시설 및 운영기관이 존재하는 국가 철도 안전관리체계의 안전규제를 체계화하기 위해서는 체계적인 요구사항의 분석에 따른 시스템 아키텍처의 설정이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 아키텍처의 설정은 현재에 대한 분석과 미래의 철도안전시스템의 특성을 구조화하여 향후 비전을 프레임워크로 표현함으로서 구현이 가능해진다. 본 논문에서는 현재의 안전관리체계의 도입 배경 및 도입 현황에 대해서 분석하고, 최근 기존의 안전관리체계와 더불어 최근에 안전분야에서 이슈가 되고 있는 기능안전 표준을 반영한 안전관리체계의 구축을 위해 안전관리체계에 대한 아키텍처를 구현하고자 하며 이때, 모델링을 바탕으로 한 접근을 제시한다.

        In this paper, the effectiveness of the geogrid for reinforcing the trackbed is evaluated via numerical analysis. The finite element analysis is performed for the numerical analysis tool. In the study, the effect of the geogrid on the bearing strength of trackbed is investigated. Two different track systems including the conventional ballasted track and the asphalt underlayment track are adopted in the comparison study. The results show that the conventional ballasted track exhibited better effectiveness than the asphalt underlayment track. Also, better effectiveness of geogrid can be achieved by installing at one third depth of ballast layer from the bottom.
