        In rice, tillering is an important trait determining yield. To study tillering at the agricultural and molecular aspects, we have examined a spontaneous rice mutant that showed reduction in the number of culms. The mutant was derived from a F6 line of the cross of Junambyeo*4 / IR72. It could produce, on average, 4 tillers per hill in the paddy field while wild-type plants usually have 15. Except the reduced culm numbers, they also show pale green phenotypes. The phenotypes of this mutant were co-segregated as the monogenic Mendelian ratio (χ2 = 0.002, p = 0.969). In order to locate a gene responsible for the rcn phenotype, the mutant with the japonica genetic background was crossed with Milyang21 of the indica background. Bulked segregant analysis was used for rapid determination of chromosomal location. Three SSR markers (RM551, RM8213, and RM16467) on chromosome 4 were genetically associated with the mutant phenotype. Each of the 217 F2 plants was genotyped with simple sequence length polymorphisms. The data showed that RM16572 on chromosome 4 was the closest marker that showed perfect co-segregation among the F2 population. We suggest the new rcn gene studied here name as rcn10t because there was no report which exhibit a rcn phenotype with a pleiotropic effect of pale green (chlorophyll deficiency), and mapped at same position on chromosome 4.

        In the neutron capture experiment and calculation, the neutron absorption and scattering are very important. Especially these effects are conspicuous in the resonance energy region and below the thermal energy region. In the present study, we obtained energy dependent neutron absorption ratios of natural rhodium in energy region from 0.003 to 100 eV by MCNP-4B Code. The coefficients for neutron absorption was calculated for several types of thickness. In the lower energy region, neutron absorption is larger than higher region, because of large capture cross section (1/v). Furthermore it seems very different neutron absorption in the large resonance energy region. These results are very useful to decide the thickness of sample and shielding materials.

        In order to investigate the variations and corelation among PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 concentrations, the hourly concentrations of each particle sizes of 300 ηm to 20 μm at a city, Gangneung in the eastern mountainous coast of Korean peninsula have been measured by GRIMM aerosol sampler-1107 from March 7 to 17, 2004. Before the influence of the Yellow Dust event from China toward the city, PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 concentrations near the ground of the city were very low less than 35.97 μg/m3, 22.33 μg/m3 and 16.77 μg/m3, with little variations. Under the partial influence of the dust transport from the China on March 9, they increased to 87.08 μg/m3, 56.55 μg/m3 and 51.62 μg/m3. PM10 concentration was 1.5 times higher than PM2.5 and 1.85 times higher than PM1. Ratio of (PM10-PM2.5)/PM2.5 had a maximum value of 1.49 with an averaged 0.5 and one of (PM2.5-PM1)/PM1 had a maximum value of 0.4 with an averaged 0.25. PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations were largely influenced by particles smaller than 2.5 μm and 1 μm particle sizes, respectively. During the dust event from the afternoon of March 10 until 1200 LST, March 14, PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 concentrations reached 343.53 μg/m3, 105 μg/m3 and 60 μg/m3, indicating the PM10 concentration being 3.3 times higher than PM2.5 and 5.97 times higher than PM1. Ratio of (PM10-PM2.5)/PM2.5 had a maximum value of 7.82 with an averaged 3.5 and one of (PM2.5-PM1)/PM1 had a maximum value of 2.8 with an averaged 1.5, showing PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations largely influenced by particles greater than 2.5 μm and 1 μm particle sizes, respectively. After the dust event, the most of PM concentrations became below 100 μg/m3, except of 0900LST, March 15, showing the gradual decrease of their concentrations. Ratio of (PM10-PM2.5)/PM2.5 had a maximum value of 3.75 with an averaged 1.6 and one of (PM2.5-PM1)/PM1 had a maximum value of 1.5 with an averaged 0.8, showing the PM10 concentration largely influenced by corse particles than 2.5 μm and the PM2.5 by fine particles smaller than 1 μm, respectively. Before the dust event, correlation coefficients between PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 were 0.89, 0.99 and 0.82, respectively, and during the dust event, the coefficients were 0.71, 0.94 and 0.44. After the dust event, the coefficients were 0.90, 0.99 and 0.85. For whole period, the coefficients were 0.54, 0.95 and 0.28, respectively.

        본 논문은 910 MHz 대역에서 동작하는 RFID (radio Frequency identification) 태그 안테나의 소형화 설계 기법을 제안한다. folded-dipole 구조와 미앤더 선로 구조를 적용하여 태그 안테나의 소형화 설계를 행하였다. 최대 전력 전달을 위해서 테그 안테나와 칩의 임피던스의 허수부는 공액 정합되었다. 최적화된 안테나의 크기는 50 nm × 40 nm × 1.6 nm로, 참고문헌 [4]와 비교하여 크기가 62 % 줄었다. 제작된 태그 안테나의 측정결과들은 예상과 잘 일치하는 것으로 확인되었다. 칩이 내장된 태그 안테나의 인식거리는 약 5 m로 관측되었다.

        Amenity landscapes in rural areas are becoming increasingly important as a resource to enhance the (public) interest in rural landscapes and to vitalize the rural areas. Befitting the times, the objective of this project is to discover the amenity landscapes distributed throughout the rural areas and to produce material in the form of a publication for the promotion of the aforementioned landscapes. For such purposes, local autonomous bodies, rural amenity resource investigation team, and experts on landscape found rural amenity landscapes and entered them for a selection process, out of which the top 100 rural amenity landscapes were ultimately selected based both on the assessment system developed by the researchers and on the assessment process executed by the assessment committee. The following two categories of assessment criteria for the amenity landscapes were presented: village-related assessment criteria including value as resource and use value; landscape-resources-related assessment criteria, including aesthetic value, identity, adherence to traditionality, and sustainability. Assessment for each criteria item was made by applying a 5-point Likert scale throughout. The sum of the points for each landscape was then converted at a 100 point scale for ultimate use in selection of the top 100 landscapes. This paper is the outcome of such series of processes and systems.

        PM10 samples were collected from July 2007 to Oct. 2007 at Gwaebopdong(inland area) and Dongsamdong (coastal area), in Busan. This paper investigates the contribution of emission sources to PM10 mass in Busan. Source apportionment results derived from the chemical mass balance(CMB) method. A source profiles applied in this study is organized to minimize the collinearity among sources type via statistical method. Source profiles applied in this study utilized a measured value of fine particle directly sampled from metropolitan area such as Seoul and Incheon, After a CMB modeling, sulfate and nitrate related sources among those contributing to PM10 in Busan showed high contribution by 36.53% in Gwaebopdong and 42.02% in Dongsamdong.

        전국의 고등학교 과학교사 223명을 대상으로 통합과학의 이해 정도와 제7차 교육과정의 10학년 ‘과학’에 대한 전반적인 이해 및 통합과학적 접근에 대한 인식을 설문 조사한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 고등학교 과학교사들은 선호하는 통합과학의 형태로 다학문적 통합 형태를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 10학년 ‘과학’이 통합과학이라고 생각하고 있지 않으며 과학교사들 스스로가 생각하는 통합과학에 대한 이해 정도는 충분하지 않다고 생각하는 의견이 많았다. 둘째, 고등학교 과학교사들은 10학년 ‘과학’을 지도하면서 많은 부담감을 갖고 있으며 비전공 내용에 대한 지식 부족을 가장 큰 요인으로 생각하고 있다. 또한 부담감 때문에 10학년 ‘과학’을 계속해서 지도하는 것에 대해서 기피하는 경향을 보이는 의견이 많았으며 10학년 ‘과학’을 지도하는데 있어 1명이 지도하는 것보다 전공별로 4명의 교사가 지도하는 것이 효율적이라고 생각하는 의견이 많았다. 셋째, 고등학교 과학교사들은 현재 10학년 ‘과학’의 개선점으로 교사 연수의 확대와 ‘공통과학’ 전공교사의 배치를 생각하고 있으며 차기 교육과정에서 다학문적 통합과학으로의 전환에 대하여 긍정적으로 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 10학년 ‘과학’의 물리, 화학, 생물, 지구과학 등 네 영역의 균등한 안배 대신에 학생들의 특성에 맞는 통합과학을 지향하는 새로운 10학년 ‘과학’에 대한 관심이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 앞으로의 교육과정은 수시 개정 교육과정으로서 일정한 주기를 가지고 개정하는 것이 아니라 필요할 때 부분․수시 개정이 가능하다. 따라서 학교 교육 현장의 고등학교 교사들도 지속적인 관심과 연구를 통해 10학년 ‘과학’의 교육과정 및 운영에 대하여 수시로 적극적인 의견을 나타내야 한다.

        Korean organic farming has been well developed over the last two decades. It demonstrates that the number of certificated farm for organic agriculture and products have been drastically increased in recent year. However, the organic farmers have thought that organic farming rely only on organic fertilizer and they don’t keep organic farming principle in which organic farmer should enhance biological activity and crop rotation. This study was to compare nutrient input, recommendation, cropping system and organic product circulation between the early 20th century and beginning of the 21st century. The population of Korea has increased 7.3 times more than that of a century ago but cultivated land has been decreased during 100 years. The rice production in 2002 was 4.2 times higher than that of production in 1912. The input of N, P and K in 1907 on the basis of King’s suggestion was 95.6kg/ha, 15.9kg/ha and 3.0kg/ha, respectively. Nitrogen came from excreta (40%), green manure (55%) and compost (5%) in the early 20th century. On the other hand, organic farmer input organic resources such as wood chip (30.1%), compost (27.8%), rice straw (14%) and others (25%) these days. In terms of nutrient balance calculated nutrient and absorption by plants, organic rice farmer apply excessive nitrogen and phosphorus to the soil. They was used to put 7~10 times more nitrogen than that of a century ago. Nutrient recommendation was similar in N and P between early 20th century and early 21st century. Farmers in both century did not rotate crops in the field. Today, organic farmers engaged in more continuous cultivation than in early 20th century. Farmers in the early 20th century produced locally, consumed locally the agricultural products, but organic farmers in the 21st century produce the organic product in the local farmland and consumed in the large city and also a lot of foreign organic products have been imported in recent year.

        To investigate and compare the variety of different flowers used in a painting of flowers and birds of Japan and Korea, the relevant Japanese era to Joseon Dynasty where traditional folk art revitalized was studied. This study aims to deliver a through and prescriptive approach to the research in question through horticulturalistic and color-orientated approach as well as the standard format of research and development. Through this study Japanese paintings were shown to prefer peony at best and other flowers such as Japanese apricot, Chrysanthemum, Bamboo, Japanese red pine were also popular which is similar to those of the Joseon period. However in Joseon dynasty, peony seized 17% of all flowers used in Folk-Art paintings unlike 10% in Japanese paintings. Whatsmore 10 of 20 most favoured plants of Joseon dynasty were shown to be shrubs whilst it was 6 for Japan illustrating flowering plants were more popular. The study of range showed paintings of Joseon dynasty using 85 varieties whilst Japanese paintings using 82 varieties hence again showing similarity. Moreover Joseon paintings illustrated that they used mostly wild flowers whilst Japanese paintings depicted more imported flowers such, Pyracantha, Gladiolus, Carnation In terms of identification of flower in the paintings, Japanese practiced precise painting technique making it easy to identify unlike the Joseon paintings where more abstract techniques of folk-Art producing difficulties in classification.

        In an effort to interpret the characteristics of fine particle concentrations in Busan, time variations of hourly monitored concentrations PM10 (Particulate Matter with aerodynamic Diameter ≤10 ㎛) in Busan are analyzed for the period from 2000 to 2005. The characteristics of aerosol second generation formation process is also interpreted qualitatively, by using the statistical analysis of the meteorological variables including temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity. The result shows some significant annual, seasonal, weekly and diurnal variations of PM10 concentrations. In particular, seasonal(i.e., spring) variations are governed by frequency of yellow sand events even for the non-yellow sand cases where yellow-sand days are eliminated in our analysis. However, in seasonal variation, summer season predominate lower PM10 concentrations due to the frequent precipitation, and weekly and diurnal variations are both found to be reflecting the emission rate from traffic amount. Correlation coefficients between PM10 concentration and meterological variables for non-yellow sand days show overall negative correlation with visibility, wind speed, cloud amounts, and relative humidity. However for non-precipitation days, during non-yellow sand period positive correlation are found clearly with relative humidity, suggesting the importance of secondary aerosol formation in Busan that can be achieved by both homogeneous aerosol formation and heterogeneous transformations resulting from hygroscopic aerosol characteristics.

        최근 10년(1996~2005년)은 관측 이래 기온이 가장 높은 시기이며 전 세계적으로 다양한 이상 기상이 빈번하게 출현한 시기이다. 지구 온난화와 더불어 우리나라의 기온 변화는 1980년대 이후 최근까지 지속적으로 증가 경향이다. 이로 인하여 명년에 비하여 최근 10년의 열대야를 포함한 극한 고온과 관련된 지수의 증가와 한파, 서리일수 등을 포함한 극한 저온 현상의 감소가 특징적이다. 그러나 10년간 기온 변동 중 겨울철 극한 저온을 포함하는 한파 등은 지역별로 1990년대 말보다 2000년대 초 다소 증가하는 경향으로 겨울철 극한 저온의 불안정한 출현 가능성 고려가 요구된다.

        Till now we have inquired into problems about application of the Criminal Code Article 310 centering around the Supreme Court's case. To apply Article 310 to the case, the action of article 307① is to be true and a thing about only public interest. As the truth is a objective structure factor of article 307①, it is an acknowledge object of Intent, therefore if one believe non-true factor as true factor, he falls into an error of factor, So his action conforms not to article 307② but rticle 307①. And the aim of public interest is an subjective factor for justification of article 310, but the aim of maligning an innocent person is an subjective factor for justification of article 309. So the former is factor for decision of unlawfulness, the latter is a factor for decision of structure. After all without the former, the unlawfulness of the action is still recognized, without the latter the structure of the action is cut.

        The Korean Constitution and the Korean Criminal Procedure Code provide the emergency arrest exception for the warrant requirements. The investigative authorities can arrest suspects without an arrest warrant issued by a judge if there is "probable cause" to believe that a suspect has committed a felony and if there is concern to believe that the suspect may destroy evidence or attempt to escape. In the case of an emergency arrest, the Criminal Procedure Code does not require that an arrest warrant be filed within 48 hours but it only requires that a detention be filed, therefore, the warrantless arrest without any judicial control is legitimatized for at least 48 hours. As a result, the investigative authorities tend not to pursue the arrest on the warrant, but depend on the emergency arrest because it is free of any warrant requirement and gives them much time to interrogate the suspect without any judicial control. In addition, the investigative authorities have developed two kinds of convenient systems to avoid the warrant requirement. The first is "voluntary accompaniment," which is the Korean version of the U.S. Terry stop system. The second is "investigation of relevant persons" who voluntarily appear before the authorities following the authorities' request to come to the police station although they are not a suspect. Since these two systems are not officially a compulsory measure, the constitutional restrictions for an arrest warrant do not attach. In particular, the authorities often proceed these two systems first, try to acquire informations from citizens, then arrest citizens if they are not cooperative. This Article is to review two Korean Supreme Court decisions to deter these two investigative authorities' tactics. The Decisions of July, 6, 2006 provides strict requirements of permissible "emergency arrest" of the "relevant persons" who voluntarily appear before the authorities. The Decisions of September, 8, 2006 stablished that if the individuals who are asked to voluntarily accompany the officer to the police station are not given the "freedom to leave" at any time, as a practical matter, the "voluntary accompaniment" is an illegal arrest.

        이 연구는 남해안 중부해역의 여름철 전 후 단계를 나누어서 6월부터 10월까지의 2004-2006년 장기간 해양환경 모니터링 및 식물플랑크톤 군집구조를 파악함과 아울러, Cochlodinium 적조발생에 관한 해석에 이용되고자 하는 것이다. 조사해역은 득량만, 고흥연안, 여자만, 가막만, 광양만, 여수연안, 남해연안으로 총 16개 정점이다. 수온은 19−29℃ 범위로 여름철 여자만에서 두 정점 모두 가장 높은 29℃C, 27℃ 를 나타내었다. 그러나 8월을 제외한 6월, 7월, 9월, 10월에는 조사정점에 관계없이 큰 차이를 보여주지 않았다. 염분도는 7월과 8월에 여자만과 광양만에서 다른 조사해역에 비하여 약 5-6 정도 낮은 25-27를 나타내었다. 클로로필의 경우도 7월과 8월에 각 조사해역별 큰 차이를 보이고 있다. 특히 광양만은 최고 5배 정도 많은 15μgl−1 까지 보였다. 투명도는 수온, 염분도, 클로로필과 다르게 조사기간 동안 해역에 관계없이 거의 비슷한 수준인 2-5m 정도로 보여주고 있다. 용존무기질소도 조사해역 중 광양만의 경우 7월과 8월에 가장 높은 0.53mgl−1 까지 보여 10배 정도까지 차이를 보였으나, 용존무기인 상대적으로 큰 차이를 나타내지 못하고 있다. 용존무기질소와 클로로필의 관계를 보면 7월에는 임의 상관성을 보여 클로로필의 증가에 따른 용존무기질소가 급속히 소모됨을 알 수 있지만, 8월에는 거의 오히려 양의 상관성을 보여주고 있다. 식물플랑크톤의 평균 세포수는 7월과 8월에 500 cells ml−1 까지 나타내었고, 대부분 규조류의 비율이 60% 이상 출현되었으나, 8월에 와편모조류의 점유율이 20-30%까지 보였다. 우점종으로는 Skeletonema costatum이 2004년부터 2006년까지 전 해역에 걸쳐 가장 많이 출현되었다. 각 해역별에 출현하는 식물 플라크톤의 집괴분석에 따르면 상호 혼잡되어 분포 되는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 보면 여름철에 가장 큰 해양환경 변화를 보였고, 식물플랑크톤 중 S. costatum은 남해연안의 대표적인 기초생산 종으로 간주된다. 특히 여름철 Cochlodinium 적조는 득량, 가막, 고흥, 여수, 남해해역에서 3년 동안 계속해서 발생된 반면, 여자만과 광양만은 전혀 나타나지 않았다. 뚜렷한 차이점은 용존무기질소 Cochlodinium 적조 형성을 위한 요구량은 수중에 풍부하게 존재하고 있기보다는, 미량이라도 충분히 적조를 유발시키고, 외해역에서도 발생될 수 있다는 뒷받침을 하고 있다.
