        The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) aims to maintain and promote the safety and health of workers. Additionally, violations of the act can result in imprisonment or fines, depending on the severity of the offense. This study examines whether the severity of OSHA violations is proportional to the size of the fines imposed. There are 120 items subject to fines, with penalties ranging from a minimum of 50,000 won to a maximum of 30 million won. To assess the severity of these items, pairwise comparisons were conducted, and the results were expressed numerically. In summary, no significant correlation was found between the severity of violations and the amount of the fines. Therefore, this study proposes calculating fines based on the severity of violations. In many small companies, resources (e.g., budget and manpower) are limited. Thus, greater attentions tend to be directed toward addressing items with higher fines. Consequently, aligning the severity of legal violations with the size of the fines may contribute to improving the industrial safety.

        To analyse and review the fishing performance and species composition according to the size of the entrance and mesh of the pot in the southern coastal waters (Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do and Yeosu, Jeollanam-do), the experiment in this study caught one class, eight orders, 17 families, 23 species, 662 fishes, and 99,833 g. The largest number of fish species was Conger myriaster (301 fishes caught) accounting for 45.5%, followed by Octopus vulgaris (152) accounting for 23.0%, Charybdis japonica (45) accounting for 6.8%, Sebastiscus marmoratus (43) accounting for 6.5%, and Parapercis sexfasciata (42) accounting for 6.3%. Conger myriaster, Octopus vulgaris, Charybdis japonica, Sebastiscus marmoratus, and Parapercis sexfasciata accounted for 88.1% of the total catch. For other fish species, 68 fishes of 18 species were caught, accounting for 12.5% of the total. As a result of the total catch survey, the catch rate of Conger myriaster was the highest at 50.9% in B. 22 mm/280 mm. In addition, the average total length per fish increased as the entrance size increased. The weight ratios of Conger myriaster, Octopus vulgaris, and other fish species based on the total weight caught in each pots of the six species of test fishing gear are as follows. A pots 66.6%, 26.5%, 6.9%, B pots 57.2%, 24.5 %, 18.3%, C pots 43.2%, 31.5%, 25.3%, D pots 7.4%, 56.7%, 35.9%, E pots 43.6%, 0%, 56.4%, and F pots 5.0%, 79.6%, 15.4%.

        WAAM(Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) has gained attention as an innovative technology in small-batch, multi-product production due to its advantages of low production costs, rapid build rates, and design flexibility. However, challenges such as relatively low geometric accuracy, surface finish defects, residual stresses, and distortion due to high heat input persist and require improvement. This study analyzes the influence of deposition path angles on deposition performance in the WAAM process. Experiments were conducted using stainless steel (STS309MoL) wire, known for its excellent heat resistance and corrosion resistance due to its relatively high ferrite content within the austenitic structure. To mitigate residual stresses and distortion caused by high heat input, the CMT(Cold Metal Transfer) process was employed for five layers of deposition. Five different deposition path angles were selected as process variables, and the impact of deposition path angles on deposition performance was evaluated based on experimental results.

        This study presents a fine scale distribution of the endangered species, Odontobutis obscura, through field surveys and literature reviews. Using the mark-recapture method, the population size in major habitats was determined. Field surveys conducted on 18 streams in Geoje Island revealed that the O. obscura was only found in the main streams and tributaries of the Sanyang, Gucheon, and Buchun Streams, which are part of the Sanyang Stream watershed. The O. obscura exhibited relative abundances ranging from 0.5% to 35.3% at different locations, with certain spots showing higher relative abundances (18.8% to 35.3%), indicating major habitat areas. A review of six literature studies confirmed the presence of the O. obscura, although there were differences in occurrence status depending on the purpose, scope, and duration of the studies. Combining the results of field and literature surveys, it was found that the O. obscura inhabits the main and tributary streams of the Sanyang, Gucheon, and Buchun Streams, from the upper to lower reaches. Currently, the O. obscura population in the Sanyang Stream watershed maintains a stable habitat, but its limited distribution range suggests potential issues such as genetic diversity deficiency in the long term. The population size of the O. obscura was confirmed at two specific locations, with densities of 0.5 to 1.5 individuals per m2. The average movement distance from the release point was 13.1 m, indicating the limited mobility characteristic of ambush predators. Understanding the distribution and population size of endangered species is the first step towards their conservation and protection. Based on this information, further research could significantly contribute to the conservation of the O. obscura.

        갯까치수염은 다육성의 2년생 초본 자생식물로서, 제주도, 울릉도를 비롯하여 남해안 지역에서 자라며 자생지의 환경에 맞게 내염성이 크다는 특징이 있고, 다양한 환경에 적응하며 관상가치가 높다. 관련 문헌을 보면 발아조건과 개화조절에 대한 연구만 보고되었고 그 중간단계인 재배에 관한 연구가 부족하여 대량생산을 위한 공정육묘법 개발의 일환으로 이 실 험을 수행하였다. 실험은 플라스틱온실 내에서 발아시킨 1cm 전후의 묘를 50, 128, 200구 트레이에 이식하여 한국원시표 준액(N-P-K-Ca-Mg, 15-3-6-8-4)을 각각 권장 EC농도의 0, 0.5, 1, 2배 농도로 매일 5분간 순환식으로 저면 관수하여 6주간 재배 후 초장, 근장, 엽수, 뿌리수, SPAD, 생체중, 건물 중을 측정하였다. 갯까치수염 생육은 플러그 셀 크기 50셀에 서 생육이 가장 높았다. 양액농도에 따른 갯까치수염의 생육 은 0.5배액에서 초장과 근장의 수치가 가장 높았으며, 모든 생육지표가 양액 농도변화에 따른 차이가 발생하는 것으로 나 타났고 실질적인 총 생산량의 지표라고 할 수 있는 지상부와 지하부의 건물중에 영향을 미치지 않았다는 결과가 나온 것으 로 미뤄 육묘단계에서 양액의 농도가 셀 크기보다 갯까수치염 의 묘 생육에 더 영향이 큰 것으로 보인다. 갯까치수염의 조직 충실도 면에서 0.5, 1, 2배액의 200구에서 가장 높은 결과값 들이 나왔다. 결과적으로 기존 원시표준액에 비해 생장에 유 리한 결과를 보이며 비료도 절약할 수 있는 0.5배 양액처리조 건이 갯까치수염 육묘 재배에 더 효율적이였다.

        The demand for ceramic brackets, which have a high aesthetic purpose due to their high light transmission is increasing due to the application of poly-crystalline alumina material. Brackets using this material require stable properties that should not fracture during the treatment period. In this paper, the fracture strength of a ceramic bracket made of the same material used in clinical practice was checked by applying torque with a square stainless steel wire. The wire used in the test was prepared with cross-section sizes of 017 inch ✕ 025 inch, 018 inch ✕ 025 inch, and 019 inch ✕ 025 inch. There were a total of 150 bracket specimens and after ligating wires in the slots, torque was applied to each of 75 specimens in the gingival and occlusal directions. The torque test used digital torque meter equipment and the torque value at which the bracket slot fractured due to plastic deformation of the ligated wire was confirmed. Based on the resulting data we plan to use the data to recommend stable torque use and develop future bracket design.

        Geopolymer, also known as alkali aluminum silicate, is used as a substitute for Portland cement, and it is also used as a binder because of its good adhesive properties and heat resistance. Since Davidovits developed Geopolymer matrix composites (GMCs) based on the binder properties of geopolymer, they have been utilized as flame exhaust ducts and aircraft fire protection materials. Geopolymer structures are formed through hydrolysis and dehydration reactions, and their physical properties can be influenced by reaction conditions such as concentration, reaction time, and temperature. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of silica size and aging time on the mechanical properties of composites. Commercial water glass and kaolin were used to synthesize geopolymers, and two types of silica powder were added to increase the silicon content. Using carbon fiber mats, a fiber-reinforced composite material was fabricated using the hand lay-up method. Spectroscopy was used to confirm polymerization, aging effects, and heat treatment, and composite materials were used to measure flexural strength. As a result, it was confirmed that the longer time aging and use of nano-sized silica particles were helpful in improving the mechanical properties of the geopolymer matrix composite.

        With changing dietary trends, active research is underway to substitute rice flour for wheat flour, commonly added to various processed foods. This study aimed to explore whether Baromi2, a floury rice incorporated in the production of Sujebi, can effectively replace wheat flour at appropriate levels based on its physicochemical and cooking characteristics. Baromi2 was categorized based on particle size (100, 140, and 200 mesh) and added in proportions of 10% and 20% relative to the weight of wheat flour. As the amount of Baromi2 increased, the protein and lipid content of the mixed flour also increased. Simultaneously, the dough strength decreased as the noodles became thinner, reducing hardness, gumminess, and chewiness. Additionally, a decrease in particle size increased peak viscosity and breakdown viscosity, whereas setback viscosity decreased. When Baromi2 was added at a 10% ratio, it displayed a low cooking loss, demonstrating desirable characteristics for Sujebi and was considered the most suitable proportion for production. These results provide foundational data for developing various rice-processed products using Baromi2, contributing to expanding consumption and enhancing utility.

        Amphibians are the world's most threatened group of animals, with approximately 41% facing extinction. Contrary to this global trend, the number of amphibian species in Korea has increased by approximately 53.3% over the past 20 years. In particular, salamanders within the genus Hynobius showed even greater diversity, with the number increasing three-fold from two species to seven. However, morphological and ecological traits required for the clear differentiation of these animals are yet to be determined, leading to much confusion. In this study, we investigated the validity of using size traits for species identification, as this method is currently considered a rule of thumb when differentiating Geoje salamanders (Hynobius geojeensis), cryptic Uiryeong salamanders (H. perplicatus), and Korean small salamanders (H. unisacculus). Our study revealed that sex, study period, and habitat were all factors associated with significant differences in snout-vent length, head width, and body weight. Differences in these size traits were evident both between and within species. Our results show that body size traits applied in the recent classification of the three new salamander species could not be seen as a suitable criterion. Such identification methods based solely on body size not only cause great confusion in the field but will also limit future research on Korean Hynobius salamanders.

        폭발 수치해석 기법 중 Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(ALE)는 구조물의 파괴뿐만 아니라 폭발 이후 충격파의 전파 과정까지 관찰할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 동적 해석 시 유한요소 모델의 격자망 크기가 일정 수준 이하로 감소하게 되면 해석 결과의 신뢰도가 부 정확해진다. 본 연구에서는 ALE 수치해석 기법을 활용하여 대기의 격자망 크기가 해석의 정확도에 미치는 영향을 조사한다. 다양한 조건의 격자망 크기와 폭발 중량을 갖는 대기 중 폭발모델을 구축하고, 폭발 중심으로부터 거리에 따른 폭발압력을 관찰한다. 수치해 석과 실험에서 얻은 최대 폭발압력 결과에 대해 평균 제곱 오차를 계산하여 최적의 격자망 크기를 제안하고, 제안된 크기를 바탕으로 폭발물 중량과 대기의 최적 격자망 크기에 대한 상관관계를 분석한다. 본 연구는 다양한 중량을 가진 폭발물 해석에서 최적의 격자망 크기를 제공함으로써 신뢰성이 향상된 폭발 수치해석 모델 개발에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

        플라스틱은 전세계적으로 사용량이 증가함에 따라 해양 환경으로 유입되는 플라스틱 쓰레기의 양도 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며, 미세플라스틱은 해양 생물에 의해 섭취되어 소화관에 축적됨에 따라 성장과 생식에 유해한 영향을 미친다. Cytochrome P450 (CYP)는 환경 오염물질을 대사하 는 해독효소로 알려져 있으나 지각류에서는 그 기능에 대해서는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 본 연 구에서는 기수산 물벼룩 Diaphanosoma celebensis에서 clan 2, 3, 4에 각각 속하는 CYP 유전자 9종(clan 2: CYP370A4, CYP370C5; clan 3: CYP350A1, CYP350C5, CYP361A1; clan 4: CYP4AN-like, CYP4AP2, CYP4AP3, CYP4C33-like1)의 서열에 대해 진화적으로 보존된 서열의 유사도를 분석 하고 계통분석을 실시하였다. 또한 3종류의 서로 다른 크기의 polystyrene beads (0.05-, 0.5-, 6-μm PS beads; 0.1, 1, and 10 mg/L)에 48시간 노출된 기수산 물벼룩에서 이들 9종의 CYP 유 전자의 발현을 real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)로 분석하였 다. 결과적으로 기수산 물벼룩 CYP 유전자는 모두 진화적으로 보존된 motif를 가지고 있으며 계통분석 결과 각각 clan 2, 3, 4에 속하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 기능적으로 보존되어 있음 을 의미한다. CYP 유전자 중 clan 2에 속하는 CYP370C5와 clan 3에 속하는 CYP360A1, 그리고 clan 4에서는 CYP4C122 유전자의 발현이 0.05-μm PS beads에 노출되었을 때 유의하게 증가 하는 양상을 보였으며, 이는 이들 유전자가 PS 대사에 관여한다는 것을 의미한다. 본 연구는 미세플라스틱이 해양 무척추 동물에 미치는 생물 영향을 분자적 수준에서 이해하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

        PURPOSES : LED based Variable Message Signs(VMS) have been widely used to inform safety messages to the drivers in advance. Legibility Distance of VMS is the most important factor to provide the safety messages to drivers in timely and effective way. However, current National Standards on legibility distance design considers letter size only even there is a difficulty to read the signs at adverse weather conditions such as heavy fog. So, this study examined the legibility issue under fog by evaluating the legibility distance with two design factors such as letter size and luminance. METHODS : Two foggy weather conditions, intermediate and heavy fog, were simulated at real-road-scale Proving Ground. Legibility distance at daytime and nighttime was evaluated by test subjects. Subjects were asked to fill the legible distance on the test sheet and statistical significant was analysed at the lab. RESULTS : The legibility distance(LD) under fog was observed only 22 to 41% of LD observed under normal weather condition at daytime, and 26 to 45% at nighttime condition. Study results showed a consistent increase in LD with higher luminance even at same letter size and vice versa conditions, However, statically significant difference between groups was only revealed when both letter size and luminance level increased conditions. In order to apply the test results in terms of engineering benefits, LD results from significantly different groups was evaluated with relative to Stopping Sight Distance(SSD) within conceptual frame suggested in this study. CONCLUSIONS : From the study results, current National Standard on legibility distance design needs to consider letter size and luminance simultaneously to response the legibility issue in adverse weather conditions.

        자생 부추속 식물 중 강부추(Allium thunbergii for. rheophytum ined.)와 갯부추(A. pseudojaponicum Makino)는 관상용, 식 용 및 약용자원으로 가치가 있으나 육묘를 위한 생육환경조건 구명이 미비하여 연구할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구는 강부추와 갯부추의 육묘에 미치는 플러그 셀 크기, 차광률, 시비처리에 따른 영향을 구명하기 위하여 실험을 수행하였다. 강부추와 갯부추를 육묘한 결과, 플러그 셀 크기에서는 50, 72, 105, 128, 162, 200셀 처리 중 용적이 가장 큰 50셀에서 초장, 엽 수, 근수, 그리고 근장의 생육이 우수하였다. 그러나 생산비용 과 플러그 육묘의 효율성을 고려하여 105셀 이상의 플러그 트레이 중에서 선택하여 육묘하는 것이 효과적이라 판단된다. 차광률에 따른 유묘는 0, 30, 60, 90% 처리 중 30~60% 차 광처리에서 초장, 근수, 그리고 근장이 유의적으로 높게 측정 되어 생육이 양호하였다. 시비처리에서 생중량과 건중량을 제 외한 생육지표를 검토했을 때, 강부추의 적정 시비처리는 속 효성 고형비료(DO-PRO) 0.1g, 갯부추는 속효성 액체비료 (Peters) 주 1회 8mL 엽면시비처리였고 두 종 모두 속효성 시비처리가 효과적이었다. 강부추와 갯부추의 초기 생육에는 30~60% 차광처리가 된 재배플롯에서 원예상토가 충진된 128셀 플러그 트레이에 종자를 파종한후, DO-PRO 0.1g 또 는 Peters 8mL를 주 1회 엽면시비하면서 재배하는 것이 효 과적이라 판단된다.

        본 연구에서는 지역 영역 기상 수치 예보 모델의 여러 수평 영역 및 수평 해상도에 따른 이상적인 열대저기압 의 진로와 베타자이어의 민감도를 조사하였다. 모델의 이상적인 초기 조건은 경험적인 함수로 생성된 3차원 축대칭 모 조 소용돌이와 허리케인 활동 시기의 평균 대기 조건으로 구성된다. 이때 모델 설정에 따른 이상적인 열대저기압의 변 화를 분석하기 위하여 배경 흐름은 제거되었다. 수치 모델의 수평 영역 및 수평 해상도에 따른 이상적인 열대저기압의 민감도 실험을 수행하기 위해, 지역 영역 수치 모델로서 W RF (Weather Research a nd F orecasting) 모델을 사용하였다. 모의된 열대저기압의 바람장으로부터 베타자이어를 추출하기 위해, DFS (Double-Fourier Series) 국지 영역 고차 필터 를 사용하였다. 모델의 수평 영역의 크기가 감소할수록 베타자이어의 구조와 강도가 약해졌으며, 이는 열대저기압 진로 의 차이를 발생시켰다. 수평 영역의 크기를 본 연구의 실험에서 가장 작은 영역인 3,000 km3,000 km로 설정하였을 경 우에 베타자이어 통풍류의 서진 성분이 크게 감소하였으며, 수평 영역을 더 넓게 설정한 실험들에 비해 열대저기압의 진로가 동쪽으로 편향되었다. 본 결과는 열대저기압과 관련된 바람장 전체를 포함하지 못할 정도로 매우 작은 수평 영 역을 사용할 경우, 열대저기압의 진로가 적절히 모의 될 수 없음을 시사한다. 반면, 5,000 km5,000 km와 6,000 km 6,000 km의 수평 영역에서는 그 민감도가 매우 작게 나타났다. 수평 해상도가 감소할수록 이상적인 열대저기압의 진 로는 매우 서쪽으로 편향되었다. 베타자이어의 크기와 강도도 수평 해상도가 감소할수록 크고 더 강하게 나타났다.

        Lithium (Li) is a key resource driving the rapid growth of the electric vehicle industry globally, with demand and prices continually on the rise. To address the limited reserves of major lithium sources such as rock and brine, research is underway on seawater Li extraction using electrodialysis and Li-ion selective membranes. Lithium lanthanum titanate (LLTO), an oxide solid electrolyte for all-solid-state batteries, is a promising Li-ion selective membrane. An important factor in enhancing its performance is employing the powder synthesis process. In this study, the LLTO powder is prepared using two synthesis methods: sol-gel reaction (SGR) and solid-state reaction (SSR). Additionally, the powder size and uniformity are compared, which are indices related to membrane performance. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy are employed for determining characterization, with crystallite size analysis through the full width at half maximum parameter for the powders prepared using the two synthetic methods. The findings reveal that the powder SGR-synthesized powder exhibits smaller and more uniform characteristics (0.68 times smaller crystal size) than its SSR counterpart. This discovery lays the groundwork for optimizing the powder manufacturing process of LLTO membranes, making them more suitable for various applications, including manufacturing high-performance membranes or mass production of membranes.
