        본 연구에서는 입체 영상이 가지는 특성과 시청환경의 특성에 따라 입체 영상을 시청할 때 발생할 수 있는 시각적 피로도를 체계적으로 살펴보기 위해 깊이방향의 운동속도와 응시거리 각각을 입체 영상과 시청환경의 대표적인 특성으로 삼고 각 요인에 의해 발생되는 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 시각적 피로도는 눈통증 요인, 시각적 스트레스, 어지러움 요인, 신체 통증 요인, 상흐림 요인으로 구성된 피로도 측정도구를 이용하여 주관적인 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 실험 1에서는 깊이 방향의 운동속도를 변화시킨 자극을 40분간 제시하면서 10분, 20분, 40분에 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 측정결과 전체 피로도 점수는 시청시간이 증가함에 따라 높아졌지만 운동 속도에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았다. 다섯 개의 하위척도들 중 어지러움 하위척도 점수에 서만 운동 속도가 증가할수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 실험 2에서는 동일한 입체 영상을 응시거리만 변화시켜가면서 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 전체 피로도 점수는 시청시간이 증가함에 따라 높아졌지만 응시거리에 따른 차이는 발견되지 않았다. 다섯 개의 하위 척도들 중 상흐림 하위척도 점수에서만 응시거리가 멀어질수록 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 입체 영상의 특성이나 시청환경에 따라 시각피로도가 변화될 수 있음을 보여주며, 시각피로도를 발생시키는 요인에 따라 각기 다른 종류의 시각피로도가 발생할 수 있음을 보여준다.

        This paper intends to examine the significance of the “Minjoong Misool(People's art)” of the 1980s emerged in Korea in its social, cultural, and art historical context. This paper also aims to provide an analysis of the meaning and form of the individual artist's works, which have been overlooked under the dominant discourse that has emphasized their political role as a collective group. In particular, this paper scrutinizes the work of “Critical Realists” by examining the way in which they perceived Korean society in the early 1980s and visualized their experiences of the period. The figurative art newly emerged in the early 1980s challenged the formalist Modernism, which was adopted into Korea and translated into monochrome paintings and the work of the conversative academicism of the 1970s. The figurative art encouraged a social communication and moreover it intended to criticize the conflicts in the political, economical, and social domains in Korea. The targets of its critique include the unavoidable results of the unprecedented development of economy, various social phenomena of the post-industrial society, and the growth of the commercialized kitsch culture. Along with Shin, Hak-chul's work that incorporates collage technique since the 1980s, the work of some members of “Reality and Utterance” and “Im- sul-nyun” exemplify their critical interests in disclosing the false dream of wealth and happiness by both referring to and drawing on the utopian fantasy manipulated and distributed by mass media and commercial advertisements. This paper pays particular attention to Nouvelle Figuration emerged in France and Europe during the 1960s, which is comparable to the new figurative art emerged in Korea during the 1980s. Nouvelle Figuration criticized the autonomy in art isolated itself from political and social reality after WWII, in particular the indifference of Informel and abstract art as well as American abstract art. Moreover it became rather politicized around May of 1968. Given that French Nouvelle Figuration was introduced in Korea in 1982 and made a significant contribution to the formation of figurative art in Korea, it should be noted that the new figurative art emerged in the 1980s in Korea cannot be categorized merely in relation to People's Art. This paper intends to critically redress the notion that People's art was formed in the particular political, economical, and cultural context of Korea independent of the contemporary artistic practices outside Korea. It will provide a critical examination and analysis of the content and form of the new figurative art, from which People's Art was germinated, in the global context.

        In the traditional music education, functionality such as instrumental skill is very important. Some of traditional music education schemes focus on the fun, melody and rhythm. In this paper, we presents the music educational methodology that integrates music education with story-telling skill and fun of computer game. We focus on the human computer interface issues for learner's comfortableness. We review music and rhythm based game, and analyze them on the basis of user’s actual feeling, sound effect, visual effect, fun of the game. In our scheme, we present music composition and replay interface. Given a story with visual effects, learner will express his/her feelings for the story in the form of musical melody. We design the composition and replay interface using visual effects and sound effects using built-in sound fonts. It is realized that story makes learner focused more on the theme of music than instrumental skills.

        Purpose : This study described the subjects with the range of around 45 years old who start to show a lowered flexibility in their lens due to aging. We carried out stereoacuity test and research for the influence on visual acuity wi th distance for prescribing for monovision. Methods : The researchers prescribed monavision for 100 male and female adults who were wearing glasses for near vision or progressive addition lens due to presbyopia and had been resided around Ulsan and Daejeon for the period of Septernber to October. 2008. Also the researchers gave prescription for distance vision on the dominant eye and for near vision on the non-dominant eye through visual acuity test regarding near and distance vision and eye dominance test. For near stereoacuity test. we used the Stereo Fly Test. Results : After prescribing for monovision. all eyes showed reduction m stereoacuity. distance vision and near vision also deerease in binocular. Conclusions : We judged that have to be cautions with problems induced by deerease of stereoacuity and visual acuity in prescription for presbyopia correction.

        목적 : 균형에 이상을 보이는 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 Dynavision 2000을 사용하여 시지각 훈련을 적용하고, Tetrax Portable Multiple System으로 기립자세에서의 균형능력을 반복 측정하여 시지각 훈련이 균형능력 향상에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 한다.연구방법 : 뇌졸중 진단을 받은 5명의 성인을 대상으로 개별사례 실험 연구 방법 중 반전연구(reversal de-sign)로 설계되었다. 연구기간은 기초선 1은 1주간의 3회기, 중재 적용기간은 4주간의 12회기, 기초선 2는 1주간의 3회기로 총 6주간 이루어졌다. 기초선 1과 2기간 동안 시지각, 일상생활수행과 균형능력을 평가하였으며, 중재 기간에는 Dynavision 2000을 사용하여 시지각 훈련을 한 후 매 회기마다 균형능력을 측정하였다. 결과분석에는 Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test를 사용하였으며, 균형능력은 안정성 지수에 대한 기술통계, 회기별 변화정도는 시각적 분석으로 하였다.결과 : Dynavision 2000 중재기간 동안, 성인 뇌졸중 환자의 균형능력이 중재 전에 비해 향상되었으며, 중재 종료 후에도 균형능력이 유지되었다.결론 : Dynavision 2000을 이용한 시지각 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 일상생활수행과 균형능력 향상에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 향후연구에서는 충분한 기간 동안 대조군을 이용한 집단연구가 이루어졌으면 한다.

        본 연구는 시각장애인의 감성적 특성을 밝혀 향후 웹 접근성 지침에 반영하기 위해 진행된 기초연구로, 통일한 청각적 자극에 대한 시각장애인과 일반인의 감성 반응을 비교하고 그 차이점을 알아보고자 진행되었다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 본 연구에서는 음악(Representation Sound)과 음향효과(Abstraction Sound)를 이용한 15개의 청각 자극과 긍정 및 부정 감성어휘를 이용한 11개의 감성평가 척도를 선정하여 웹 설문 시스템을 제작하였으며, 이를 활용하여 31명의 시각장애인과 53명의 일반인을 대상으로 준비된 청각 자극에 대한 감성 반응을 측정하였다. 예외적인 경우가 있기는 하지만 설문의 결과는 대부분의 경우에서 두 집단 간의 감성반응패턴이 일치하는 것으로 나타나, 장애인의 감성욕구가 일반인과 크게 다르지 않음을 보여주고 있다. 이러한 결과는 디자인에서 사용자의 감성을 중요시 하는 것과 마찬가지로 웹 접근성에 대한 연구에서 장애인의 감성적 욕구가 중요시 되어야 함을 보여주고 있는 것이다.

        Purpose : To compare the visual function at near and to obtain the useful clinical data for diagnosis and prescription of relieving prism. Methods :The 88 subjects, 64 males and 24 females, mean age of 25.1±4.8. were recruited. Subjective refraction, amplitude of accommodation. relative accommodation, near point of convergence(N.P.C). fusional vergence, stereopsis, AC/A ratio, fixation disparity parameters, dissociated phoria and associated phoria were measured by using various charts, and prism prescription by criteria was compared. Results : 9.05±1.660 of amplitude of accommodation by minus Jens addition, 7.39±4.40 cm of NPC. 2.29±0.310 of NRA and -3.04±0.90 of PRA were measured respectively. Break point and recovery point of negative fusional vergence were 21.63±5.856 and 12.81±4.656 respectively, and those of positive fusional vergence were 22.41±6.97 6 and 12.21±4.926. In cases of stereopsis measured with Borish vectographic nearpoint card II. 61.21±60.65" with real contour ring chart and B6.74±175.5b" with l<andom dot E chart were measured and there were significant differences between the values(t = -4.815. p = 0.000). ln the dissociated phoria test using 3 types of card, mean dissociated phoria were -3.04±4.666 (8orish card). -2.71±4.886(Howell card) and -3.04±4. 796(Modified Thorington). The highest phoria was measw·ed with Borish card adopting prism add method. There was significance between Borish card and Howell card(t = -2.437. p = 0.017), but no significance between Borish card and Modified Thorington card or among three cards found. In the associated phoria test. mean associated phoria was -0.66±1.87 6(Borish card). -0.76±1.956 (8ernell slide). -0.69±1.796 (Saladin card) and -2.05±3.55 (Wesson card) the highest exo-phoria. Statistical significance was found. only when Wesson card is included(F = 6.645. p = 0.000). Oissociated phoria( -0.67±1.856) and associated phoria(-3.40±4.666 ) by Borish card(t = -6.858. p = 0.000) were showed significant difference. Gradient AC/A ratio using S±l.OOD is below ; 3.20±1.62.6 "'~th Borish card. ~.05±1.456 wilh Howell card, 2.76±1.19/\ with Modified Thorington. There was no significant difference. Fixation disparity parameters were X -intercept -2.05±3.556 . Y-intercept -3.09±4.59' and slope -0.83±0.81 '. according to Ogle's four types fixation disparity curve type, the order of type was I type, ffitype, Ntype, II type and so for1h.In the comparison of prescriptions by Sheard's criterion, Percival's criterion and associated phoria, exo-phoria and eso-phoria needed prism prescription only in associated Phoria. Conclusions : Stereopsis, dissociated phoria and associated phoria varied with cards. In that reason. examination, diagnosis, prism prescription of subjective symptoms on phoria have to consider the card used and criteria adopted, and the card to be used is need to be adopted in compliance with criteria after understanding character of each card.

        Purpose : To provide eye care practitioners with guidelines in selection of lenses based on visual needs of wearer. we measured optical characteristics and analysing distance, intem1ediate. and near zones of each PAL design. Methods : 34 lenses which are selling in the market currently, were ordered through a shop as if for a patient with a prescription of piano distance and a + 2.000 add for right respectively. The total number of tl1e lenses was 34 and they were obtained from the manufacturer directly to get a equatable of lenses. Each lens optics was measured with VM 2000(Visionix Ltd. Israel) three times. Limiting the viewing zone width by 0.500C or + 0.250S. distance. intem1ediate. near viewing zone were analysed respectively by lmm vertical steps. Results : Setting the criterion at addition + 2.000. the maximum unwantcd astigmatism was - 1.95 to -3.560( -2.32±0.37). clistance viewing zone area was 9.17 Lo 91.25 mm2(30.57±17.20 mm2 ) . intermediate vie\ving zone area was 10.52 to 41.21 mm2(19.56±6.88 mm2 ), the highest occurrence of the + 1.750 was apart 10.35 m to 18.16 mm(l3.53±2.02 mm) from fitting cross. and neru· viewing zone area with over + 1.750 was 26.58 to 111.25 mm2(62.31± 18.07 mm2 ). There were significant differences with measurement variables. And the usage ratings were measured on t11e criterion of the distance zone. intermediate zone. and near zone width and their horizontal width. Conclusions : The optical characteristics across the progressive addition lenses tested in this study were showed a variance of wide ranges. The ratings of visual needs of wearer on the distance zone, intermediate corridor and near zone can be used in selection of appropriate lenses to match individual specific needs.

        Purpose : To evaluate visual acuity(V A) according to Jight transmissi on of tinted Jenses. Methods : 37 college students in Daegu and Kyungbuk province(24 males, 13 females, a mean age of 22.8±2.0 yrs.) were seJected. AJJ of them had corrected visuaJ acuity of 0.8 or better, no anisometropia of 2.000 or more, no ocuJar and systemic diseases. Gray, brown, red, green, yellow, bJue, pink lenses are tinted in accordance with BS EN 1836(1997) so that Juminous transmittance of the lenses classified 80-90%(0 category), 60-80%(1-1 category), 43-60(1-2 category), 30- 43%(2-1 category), 18-30%(2-2 category). VA was measured with Han's visual acuity churt. Results : ln wearing tinted lens, the VA decreased. the photopic condition at distance, VA with all the tinted Jens decreased except 0 category Jenses of brown, yellow, blue tint and 1-2 category Jens of yellow tint. ln mesopic condition at distance, V A with all tinted Jenses decreased except 0 category Jens of gray tint. ln the photopic condition at near. V A with alJ tinted Jens decreased. In mesopic condition at near distance, VA with alJ tinted Jenses decreased except 0 category Jenses of green and pink tint. ln the photopic condition at distance. the measured corrected VA with all tinted Jenses excepts 2-2 category of gray tinted Jens was 0.8 or better. ln the mesopic condition at distance. the measured corrected VA with all tinted Jenses was Jess than 0.8. ln the photopic condition at near. the measured corrected VA with 2-2 category Jens of gray tint was 0.8 or better. ln the mesopic condition at near, 1-1 category Jens of bJue tint were measured corrected visual acuity Jess than 0.8. 1-2 category of alJ tinted lenses were measured con·ected visual acuity Jess than 0.8. Conclusions : VisuaJ acuity according to color and light transmittance of tinted lenses was different. When choosing tinted lenses, the decreased leveJ of visuaJ acuity needs to be considered.

        The composition of TV frame has been developed as a visual methods. It can be necessary to produce into the spectator's view in order to understand that ways of seeing in a variety of moving images. Split-Screen has a point of view that is not only to produce a variety of moving images at the same time, but also to create the pattern of visual images. It widely uses where TV drama, sport program, show program, and even TV commercials. It also becoming increasingly structured by the TV frame of an image as a discourses. This study focus on the split screen as a method of creating TV frame works and how it can be use as a visual effects into the spectator's point of views. Split-screen offers a new paradigms as method of TV frame works and concepts that can be applied in terms of different size of TV frame either 4:3 or 16:9. It is, of course, already contains number of features as an experience of fields. Most important thing the split-screen tend to be narrative structure as a contemporary skill of usages and recourse of frame works. From this study of the meaning of "split-screen" is the development of frame works in order to send a variety of images throughout the spectator's wide vision of view.

        The purpose of this research was to identify the difference between expected and actual corporate image in the market and to verify the possibility of green-oriented corporate identity (CI) visual design as a useful method for communicating with consumers. In addition, this research suggests how green-oriented CI visual design can effectively convey corporate image to consumers. The methods of research used to achieve this aim were case studies and questionnaire surveys. In regard to the results, the difference between consumers'perceived favourable corporate image and companies' expectation about corporate image was found. Moreover, the results show that green-oriented visual identity (VI) design can improve corporate image. In turn, the gap between the expected and actual perception of corporate image can be decreased through green-oriented design. Based on these results, a method of effective development for green-oriented VI design is recommended.

        목적: 빛의 세기와 순목속도의 상관관계 및 빛의 세기에 따른 시력 회복시간의 차이 여부를 살펴보았다. 방법: 빛의 세기를 5단계로 구분하였으며 각 단계별로 순목속도를 측정하였고 일정한 시간동안 빛에 노출된 피검자들의 시력회복시간을 측정하였다. 결과: 피검사자 39명의 순목속도 평균은 빛의 세기별로 31.97±10.91~33.38±11.20 mm/s였고 빛의 세기와 순목속도는 유의한 상관관계가 없었으며(r=0.006) 소프트콘택트렌즈 착용 전과 착용 후의 순목속도는 유의한 차이가 없었다(p=0.351). 빛의 세기에 따른 시력회복시간을 분산분석한 결과 유의한 차이가 있었고(F=30.67, p

        목 적 : 시각 구연 능력과 양안시 기능이 학업 성취도와 어떠한 상관성이 있는지 알아보 았다. 방 법 : 대전 지역 초등학교 4학년 학생 122명을 대상으로 한글 읽기 속도(Korean Reading Rate) 검사와 DEM 검사를 통한 시각-구연 능력(Visual-verbal Skills)과 굴절이 상도, 사위도, 조절 용이성, 융합 능력(Fusional Vergence) 및 조절근점 등의 양안시 기능을 측정하였다. 연간 총 평가 성적을 석차 순으로 상 ․ 중 ․ 하(각 38명씩) 3개 그룹으로 분류하여 각종 측정 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 결 과 : 학업 성취도 각 그룹별로 시각-구연 능력과 비교했을 때 한글 읽기 속도는 상위 그룹이 하위 그룹보다 평균 10초 정도 짧았으며(p = 0.000) 유의한 상관성을 보였다(r = -0.359, p = 0.000). DEM 검사는 상위 그룹이 하위 그룹보다 9초 정도 짧았고(p = 0.000) 유의한 상관성을 보였다(r = -0.427, p = 0.000). 양안시 기능과 비교한 결과 굴절이상도는 중간 그룹이 하위 그룹보다 0.50D 정도 더 높았다(p = 0.016). 사위도 및 단안 조절기능(단 안 조절용이성 및 단안 조절 근점)은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었고, 융합 능력 가운데 원 거리에서 NFV와 PFV 모두 중간 그룹이 가장 낮았다(p = 0.011 및 p = 0.007). 근거리에서 NFV는 유의한 차이가 없었으나, PFV는 상위 그룹이 가장 높았다(p = 0.000). 특히 학업 성 취도와 근거리 PFV는 유의한 상관성을 보였다(r = 0.571, p = 0.000). 조절과 폭주의 결합 요소(양안 조절 용이성 및 양안 조절 근점)를 비교했을 때 양안 조절 용이성은 중간 그룹이 가장 높았으며(p = 0.000) 양안 조절 근점은 상위 그룹이 가장 낮았고(p = 0.037), 한글 읽 기 속도와 DEM은 유의한 상관성을 보였다(r = 0.618, p = 0.000). 결 론 : 학업 성취도와 시각-구연 능력(한글 읽기 속도와 DEM 검사)은 모두 상관성이 있 었으며, 양안시 기능은 근거리 PFV만 상관성이 있었고 근거리 PFV가 높을수록 학업 성취도 가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

        목적 : 학령전기 아동의 글씨 쓰기 특징을 알아보고 글씨 쓰기 명료도와 시지각 능력과의 상관관계를 확인하며, 글씨 쓰기 명료도에 영향을 주는 요인을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 한국형 덴버 발달 판별 검사를 통하여 정상 발달로 판별된 49명의 학령전기 아동(평균 연령=67.0개월, SD=3.4)을 대상으로 글씨 쓰기 명료도 측정을 위하여 자모 쓰기 검사지를 사용하여 자음과 모음을 모사하도록 하였으며, 시지각 및 시각-운동 통합 수행 능력 측정을 위하여 한국판 시지각 발달 검사를 사용하였다. 결과 : 글씨 쓰기 특징은 확산, 선 변형, 직각이탈 순으로 오류를 범하는 아동이 많았으며, 상하역전과 좌우역전에 어려움을 보이는 아동은 없었다. 글씨 쓰기 명료도는 전반적인 시지각 능력과 양호한 수준의 상관관계를 나타냈고, 특히 운동성이 요구되는 시각-운동 통합 척도 중 눈-손 협응, 따라 그리기, 시각-운동 속도와 양호한 수준의 상관관계를 보였다. 회귀 분석 결과 글씨 쓰기 명료도에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 요인은 눈-손 협응과 따라 그리기였다. 결론 : 5~6세 학령전기 아동의 글씨 쓰기 능력에 있어 특히, 비운동성 시지각 보다는 시각-운동 통합 능력의 발달을 향상시키기 위한 중재를 제공하는 것이 자모 따라 쓰기 능력(명료도)을 향상시킬 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다.

        시각과 청각으로 표현된 디지털 콘텐츠가 감각표현을 확장하려는 연구가 활발하다. 최근에는 촉각 표현이 가능한 다양한 촉각 표현 시스템이 개발하여 촉감을 표현하는 디지털 콘텐츠 개발하고 있다. 하드웨어에 의한 촉감각 표현시 다른 감각과의 동기화가 중요한 표현 요소로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 햅틱(haptic)표현이 다른 감각에 비해 표현 지연 발생할 경우 실감도에 미치는 영향에 관한 것이다. 시각 및 햅틱 지연 시간을 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0(초)로 설정하여 각 지연에 대한 실감도 평가를 실시하여 선형 회귀 분석하였다. 촉각 지연 보다 시각 지연에서 실감도와 상관성을 보였으며 지연 시간이 길어질수록 실감도가 떨어지는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그러므로 사용자는 촉감 표현에 대한 지연이 시각 지연 보다 관대한 것으로 사료된다.

        To reduce winging scapula, various exercise protocols have been widely used by clinicians. Selective serratus anterior strengthening, and restoring balanced function, are especially recommended to reduce winging scapula. The purpose of this study was to investigate visual biofeedback using a real time video camera display system for monitoring scapular winging during arm lowering. For this study, 13 males with winging scapular were recruited during arm lowering. Electromyography (EMG) activity was recorded from the serratus anterior (SA) and upper trapezius (UT) of the right side and compared with normal EMG activity using a paired t-test. The study showed, through visual biofeedback, that EMG activity significantly increased in the SA and significantly decreased in the UT (p<.05). These results suggest that visual biofeedback can be recommended as an effective method for scapular eccentric control, to prevent scapular winging during arm lowering.

        Frankliniella occidentalis Pergande (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is economically important pest of various crops causing damage through direct feeding and transmitting tospoviruses. In a previous study differential responses of the thrips to various geometrical patterns of yellow sticky card were found. Therefore, in this study, we compared the behavioral responses of the thrips to visual and olfactory cues in cylindrical black box and Y-tube olfactometer, respectively. Multiple or pair wise choice tests were carried out among/between six geometrical patterns of yellow color paper and artificial flowers. The thrips preferred circular shape to other geometrical patterns in multiple choice test. In pair wise choice test between three geometrical patterns, i.e., circular, rectangle, and modified circular, and artificial strawberry flowers, the thrips showed preference to the yellow artificial flower than any other cues. The thrips resided on the yellow artificial flower almost 4 times more than other patterns. In Y-tube olfactometer test, higher number of the thrips chose the arm with p-anisaldehyde and artificial flower compared to the arm with only the artificial flower. Higher number of the thrips also chose the arm containing both visual and real flower odor as compared to arm with the only real flower odor. The potentials and application of these results in the development of attraction traps for the thrips management have been discussed.

        Yangbanxi("model plays") symbolize the Cultural Revolution(1966~1976) in China. The Eight Model Revolutionary Works include five Chinese Modern Peking Operas, namely, Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy(智取威虎山), Harbor City(海港), Shaijabang(沙家浜), The Red Lantern(紅燈記), and Raid on the White Tiger Regiment; (奇襲白虎團), ballets such as The Red Detachment of Women(紅色娘子軍) and The White-Haired Girl(白毛女); and a symphony: Shajiabang(沙家浜). On April 24, 1967, Chinese leaders, including Mao Zedong, saw a performance of The White-Haired Girl. Yanbanxi was performed in Beijing between May 24 and June 15 the same year. The Red Lantern was designated as a work for the proletarian classes by Jiang Qing(Mao Zedong's third wife and the most influential woman in China) and spread nationwide. It was also made into a film to be enjoyed by many people. The modern Chinese operas went a long way in their creation of visual images of revolutionary heroes. The Red Lantern, in particular, came to be regarded as the most representative revolutionary opera. In the course of such a process, Jiang Qing used Yangbanxi as a political tool for compelling the people to worship and pledge their allegiance to Mao in an effort to turn the Cultural Revolution into a class struggle on behalf of her husband. During the Cultural Revolution period, artists were made to associate with workers, farmers and soldiers based on the idea of advocating revolutionary arts for the proletarian classes. The characters in The Rend Lantern were portrayed as heroes from the proletarian classes according to the demands of the era. Chinese leaders set forth the principles of artistic expression, stressing three important factors: politics, heroes, and heroic acts, which were to be applied to all the visual arts, including Yangbanxi. This paper attempts to present a new view of fine arts during the Cultural Revolution in China by focusing on the productive significance of a leading style of a specific era in the past. To that end, this paper sheds light on products made in conformance with political instructions, stressing the importance of revolutionary heroes in The Red Lantern.
