        The electrochemical properties of novel metal powders were investigated for the electrode materias of polymer electrolyte memebrane electrolysis. Two types of Pt black and powder electrodes were hot-pressed on the polymer electrolyte membrane to form membrane electrode assembly. The galvanodynamic polarization methode was used to characterize the electrochemical properties of both electrodes. From the experimental results, we concluded that the powder electrode exhibits better electrochemical performance than Pt black as cathode material for the electrolysis.

        Kinik Company pioneered diamond pad conditioners protected by DLC barrier ( Coating) back in 1999 (Sung & Lin, US Patent 6,368,198). Kink also evaluated Cermet Composite Coating (CCC or , patent pending) with a composition that grades from a metallic (e.g. stainless steel) interlayer to a ceramic (e.g. or SiC) exterior. The metallic interlayer can form metallurgical bond with metallic matrix on the diamond pad conditioner. The ceramic exterior is both wear and corrosion resistant. The gradational design of coating will assure its strong adherence to the substrate because there is no weak boundary between coating and substrate.

        SET (Suppressor of variegation, Enhancer of zeste, and the Trithorax) domain-containing proteins are known to have methyltransferase activity at lysine residues of histone proteins. In this study, we identified a novel SET domain-containing protein from mouse and named Kodo7. Indeed, Kodo7 has methyltransferase activity at K9 residue of the H3 protein as demonstrated by a histone methyl-transferse activity assay using GST-tagged Kodo7. Confocal microscopy showed that Kodo7 is co-localized with histones in the nucleus. Interestingly, ectopic expression of Kodo7 by transient transfection induced cell death and treatment of the transfectants with a caspase-3 inhibitor, Ac-DEVD-AFC decreased Kodo7-induced apoptosis. These results suggest that Kodo7 induces apoptotic cell death through increased methylation of histones leading to transcriptional repression.

        Polydnavirus is a mutualistic DNA virus found in some braconid and ichneumonid wasps. Its genome is integrated into host chromosome as a provirus. Its replication occurs at ovarian calyx epithelium during host pupal stage to form episomal viral particles. The viral particles are delivered into hemocoel of the parasitized insect along with eggs during wasp oviposition. Several polydnaviral genomes, which are isolated from the episomal virus particles, have been sequenced and exhibit some gene families with speculative physiological functions. This review presents the viral characteristics in terms of its parasitic physiology. For developing new insect pest control tactics, it also discusses several application strategies exploiting the viral genome to manipulate insect physiology.

        이 글은 한문소설이 갖는 장르적 특성을 고려하는 가운데, 한문소설교육의 목표, 그리고 교육내용 체계 등을 살펴보았다. 그리고 고등학교에서 한문소설을 교수학습할 수 있는 모형을 구안하기 위해 학습자들이 한문소설을 읽는 과정을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 한문소설을 교수학습할 수 있는 모형들을 논의하였다. 이를 위해, 이 글은 절차모형과 목표모형을 통합하는 가운데, 한문소설 교수학습 모형을 반응 중심 모형과 가치 탐구 모형을 통해 살펴보고, 이 모형들의 구체적인 적용을 논의하였다. 발견적 경험과 교섭적 경험을 하는 학습자의 한문소설 읽기 과정은 소설에 대한 이해와 해석, 반응의 정도에 따라 ‘발견적 읽기’, ‘해석적 읽기’, ‘구성적 읽기’로 세분화될 수 있다. 이 과정들은 학습자가 텍스트와의 소통을 통해 문학적 의미를 구성해 가는 과정을 나타낸다. 이 과정들을 고려한 한문소설 교수학습 모형들은 학습자가 소설 텍스트의 심미성을 의미화하고, 이를 바탕으로 한 자기 이해를 도모하는 한문소설교육의 지향점과 맥을 같이한다. 반응 중심 모형은 ‘반응 준비하기’, ‘반응 형성하기’, ‘반응 명료화하기’, ‘반응 심화하기’ 등으로 설계될 수 있고, 가치 탐구 모형은 ‘가치 확인하기’, ‘가치 분석하기’, ‘가치 선택하기’, ‘내면화하기’ 등으로 설계될 수 있다.
