        Thermal decomposition of the uranyl phosphate mineral phase meta-ankoleite (KUO2PO4·3H2O) has been considered in relation to high temperature thermal sintering for the immobilisation of a uranyl phosphate containing waste. Meta-ankoleite thermal decomposition was studied across the temperature range 25 – 1200℃ under an inert N2 atmosphere at 1 atm. It is shown that the meta-ankoleite mineral phase undergoes a double de-hydration event at 56.90 and 125.85℃. Subsequently, synthetically produced pure meta-ankoleite remains stable until at least 1150℃ exhibiting no apparent phase changes. In contrast, when present in a mixed waste the meta-ankoleite phase is not identifiable after thermal treatment indicating incorporation within the bulk waste either as an amorphous phase and/or as uranium oxide. Visual inspection of the waste post thermal treatment showed evidence of self-sintering owing to the presence of glass former materials, namely, silica (SiO2) and antimony(V) oxide (Sb2O5). Therefore, incorporation of the uranium phase into the waste as part of waste sentencing and immobilisation via high temperature sintering for the purpose of long-term disposal is deemed feasible.

        This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) inoculation to domestically-cultivated Italian ryegrass (IRG) on silage fermentation and in vitro ruminal fermentation. There were six treatments based on the LAB inoculants: 1) no addition of LAB (negative control: NC), additions of 2) commercially-available LAB (positive control: PC), 3) Lactobacillus plantarum (LPL), 4) L. paracasei (LPA), 5) L. acidophilus (LA), and 6) L. pentosus (LPT). All treatments were inoculated at a concentration of 106 CFU/g and ensiled for 3, 7, 21, and 42 days in triplicate and analyzed for nutritive values when ensiling was terminated. Day 42 silage from all treatments were also examined for in vitro ruminal fermentation. After 42 days, LAB-inoculated silages had higher (P<0.05) lactic acid concentration compared to the NC. In terms of nutritive values, the silages treated with LPA, LA, and LPT showed higher (P<0.05) crude protein and lower (P<0.05) neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content compared to the rest of the treatment. In vitro ruminal dry matter degradability was not affected by LAB addition. However, LAB-treated IRG had shown higher (P<0.05) ammonia-N compared with that of the NC. LPA had shown the highest (P<0.05) volatile fatty acid concentration among the LAB examined. In conclusion, the addition of a single strain of LAB appeared to produce a quality IRG silage compared with the NC and the PC. Among the strains examined, LPA seemed to be superior to the others.

        본 실험은 광 환경이 자생 Veronica속 4종 구와꼬리풀, 봉래꼬리풀, 부산꼬리풀, 큰구와꼬리풀의 생장 및 개화에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 실시하였다. 이중 봉래꼬리풀은 희귀 및 특산식물로 지정되어 있는 우리나라의 자생식물이며 부산꼬리풀은 우리나라에서도 부산지역에서만 자생하는 특산식물이자 자료부족종으로 분류된다. 실험은 2018년 3월 30일부 터 2018년 8월 17일까지 수행되었으며 Veronica속 4종을 0, 40, 60, 90% 차광환경에서 재배하였다. 구와꼬리풀을 0~60% 차광환경에서 재배시 90% 차광환경에서 재배한 개체보다 지상부의 생체중이 무겁고 엽수 및 가지수가 많아 생장이 유의하게 좋았다. 큰구와꼬리풀의 줄기 두께는 90% 차광환경에서 재배시 유의하게 얇아져 생장이 불량하였다. 구와꼬리풀과 큰구와꼬리풀은 0~60% 환경에서 재배시 모든 개체가 개화하였으며 90% 차광환경에서 재배한 개체보다 개화소요일수가 짧 아졌다. 봉래꼬리풀은 0~40% 차광환경에서 재배시 60~90% 차광환경에서 재배한 개체보다 지상부 및 건물증이 유의하게 증가하여 생육이 좋았으며, 관상가치 측면에서 가장 높은 점수를 받았다. 부산꼬리풀의 관상가치는 0, 40, 60, 90% 차광환경에서 재배시 각각 4.0, 3.0, 2.2, 1.0점으로 조사되어 동일한 Veronica속이라도 종에 따라서 광 민감도가 다양한 것을 확인하였다.

        본 연구의 목적은 출산 전 필라테스 운동과 프로바이오틱스 섭취가 출산 후 여성의 장내미생물, 신체구성, 혈중지질, 비만호르몬, 염증성 사이토카인에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 있다. 총 15명의 임산부를 운동+프로바이오틱스섭취군(PEX, n=5), 운동군(EX, n=5), 대조군(CON, n=5)으로 구분하였다. PEX 집단과 EX 집단은 8주 동안 주 2회 필라테스 운동에 참여하였고 준비운동 10분, 본 운동 30분, 정리운동 10분으로 실시하였으며, PEX 집단은 매일 공복에 프로바이오틱스 1 캡슐을 섭취하였다. 그 결과 출산 후 PEX 집단의 체지방 및 WHR 수치가 감소하였다. 장내미생물의 변화는 비피도박테리움, 락토바실러스, 클로스트리디움, 퍼미큐테스, 박테리오데스의 구성 수준에서 집단 간 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 비만 호르몬과 염증성 사이토카인의 변화는 PEX 집단에서 사후 렙틴, IL-6, TNF-a 수치가 감소하는 것으로 나타났고, 혈중 지질 수준에서는 차이가 없었다. 결론적으로 출산 전 필라테스와 프로바이오틱스 병행 처치는 출산 후 여성의 복부지방 감소에 효과적이며 염증 및 비만 관련 호르몬에 긍정적인 영향을 주어 산후 빠른 회복에 도움이 될 것이다.

        For surface hardening of a continuous casting mold component, a fundamental metallurgical investigation on dissimilar laser clads (Cu–NiCrBSi) is performed. In particular, variation behavior of microstructures and mechanical properties (hardness and wear resistance) of dissimilar clads during long-term service is clarified by performing high-temperature postclad heat treatment (temperature range: 500 ~ 1,000 ℃ and isothermal holding time: 20 ~ 500 min). The microstructures of clad metals (as-clads) consist of fine dendrite morphologies and severe microsegregations of the alloying elements (Cr and Si); substrate material (Cu) is clearly confirmed. During the post-clad heat treatment, the microsegregations are totally homogenized, and secondary phases (Cr-based borides and carbides) precipitated during the short-term heat treatment are also almost dissolved, especially at the heat treatment conditions of 950 ℃ for 500 min. Owing to these microstructural homogenization behaviors, an opposite tendency of the surface mechanical properties can be confirmed. In other words, the wear resistance (wear rate) improves from 4.1 × 10−2 mm3/Nm (as-clad condition) to 1.4 × 10-2 mm3/Nm (heat-treated at 950 ℃ for 500 min), whereas the hardness decreases from 453 HV (as-clad condition) to 142 HV (heat-treated at 950 ℃ for 500 min).

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the physicochemical properties of jelly made from fermented red ginseng concentrate (FRGC) that can be easily absorbed and digested for the health promotion of the elderly. The pH of the jellies tended to decrease with increasing concentration of FRGC. Soluble solid content has significantly higher value when added more than 2%, and the water content of the sample was significantly lower when the FRGC was added 4%. As the amount of FRGC was increased, the total color difference increased, and the hardness of samples decreased significantly. On the other hand, the total ginsenoside contents of the FRGC was 45.50 mg/g. As the concentration of FRGC increased, the content of polyphenol and flavonoids increased. The increasing pattern of polyphenols and flavonoids showed a similar trend. As the content of FRGC increased, ABTS free radical scavenging activity significantly increased (p<0.05), and in the control, the minimum value (62.6 AEAC) and the 4% sample were highest (116.2 AEAC). DPPH radical scavenging activity was like that of ABTS radical scavenging activity. However, there was no significant difference in DPPH radical scavenging activity of 3% and 4% red ginseng jelly.

        The molybdenum cup and molybdenum pin, which are the main materials of the molybdenum electrode used for the LCD BLU CCFL electrode, have not been developed in Japan and all of them are imported and used from Japan, is giving a competitive burden. In this research, to develop the manufacturing technology of molybdenum pin used for CCFL electrode of LCD BLU, development of linear processing technology, development of molybdenum wire surface treatment technology, development of wire cutting technology, production of molybdenum pin, design and fabrication of JIG and Fixture for inspection, molybdenum pin prototyping and analysis, and development of 100% molybdenum pin inspection technology. In this paper, especially, research on surface treatment technology of molybdenum wire is treated.

        The relationship between the precipitation of secondary phase and the thermal properties of Al-4.5%Cu alloy (in wt.%) after various heat treatments has been studied. Solid solution treatment of alloy was performed at 808 K for 6 hours, followed by warm water quenching; then, the samples were aged in air at 473 K for different times. The thermal diffusivity of the Al-4.5%Cu alloy changed with the heat treatment conditions of the alloy at temperatures below 523 K. The as-quenched specimen had the lowest thermal diffusivity, and as the artificial aging time increased, the thermal diffusivity of the specimen increased in the temperature range between 298 and 523 K. For the specimen aged for five hours, the thermal conductivity was 12% higher than that of the as-quenched specimens at 298 K. It is confirmed that the thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity of the Al-4.5%Cu alloy significantly depend on their thermal history at temperatures below 523 K. The precipitation and dissolution of the Al2Cu phase were confirmed via DSC for the alloys, and the formation of coefficient of thermal expansion peaks in TMA was caused by precipitation. The precipitation of supersaturated solid solution of Al-4.5%Cu alloys had an additional linear expansion of ≈ 0.05 % at 643 K during thermal expansion measurement.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the qualitative changes of the citron by identifying the type of solution and addition of the solution to prevent the browning reaction of the citron in a way that inhibits the browning of the citron. The browning inhibitor solution was investigated using the individual and mixture, and the results of the degree of browning and chromaticity showed that vitamin C+NaCl+cyclodextrin (CD) had the lowest browning of 0.52. In chromaticity, the ΔE values indicate that the higher the value, the greater the change in color, and the lowest value of the vitamin C+NaCl+CD mixture was 47.0, indicating that there was minimal browning compared to other treatment. The active change of the polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in the citron increased enzyme activity as the browning progressed, and the vitamin C+NaCl+CD solution was the lowest at 68.40 μ/g among the anti-browning solution. Based on these research results, it seems that the CD mixing solution can be used as a citron browning inhibitor.

        In this study, a pilot-scale (3 m3/day) membrane distillation (MD) process was operated to treat digestate produced from anaerobic digestion of livestock wastewater. In order to evaluate the performance and energy cost of MD process, it was compared with the pilot scale (10 m3/day) reverse osmosis (RO) process, expected competitive process, under same feed condition. As results, MD process shows stable permeate flux (average 10.1 L/m2/hr) until 150 hours, whereas permeate flux of RO process was decreased from 5.3 to 1.5 L/m2/hr within 24 hours. In the case of removal of COD, TN, and TP, MD process shows a high removal rate (98.7, 93.7, and 99% respectively) stably until 150 hours. However, in the case of RO process, removal rate was decreased from 91.6 to 69.5% in COD and from 93.7 to 76.0% in TP during 100 hours of operation. Removal rate of TN in RO process was fluctuated in the range of 34.5-62.9% (average 44.6%) during the operation. As a result of energy cost analysis, MD process using waste heat for heating the feed shows 18% lower cost compare with RO process. Thus, overall efficiency of the MD process is higher then that of the RO process in terms of permeate flux, removal rate of salts, and operating cost (in the case of using waste heat) in treating the anaerobic digestate of livestock wastewater.

        In this study, effects of five raw water quality parameters (turbidity, odor compounds caused by algae, filter clogging caused by algae, pH increase caused by algae, and organic matter) on improvements and operations costs of typical water treatment plant (WTP) were estimated. The raw water quality parameters were assumed the worst possible conditions based on the past data and costs were subsequently estimated. Results showed that new water treatment facilities were needed, such as a selective intake system, an advanced water treatment processes, a dual media filter, a carbonation facility, and a re-chlorination facility depending on water quality. Furthermore, changes needed to be made in WTP operations, such as adding powered activated carbon, increasing the injection of chlorine, adding coagulation aid, increasing the discharge of backwashed water, and increasing the operation time of dewatering facilities. Such findings showed that to reliably produce high-quality tap water and reduce water treatment costs, continuous improvements to the quality of water sources are needed.

        PURPOSES : In this study, we examined the installation and the effect of the s-type approach lane marking near the stop line of a typical intersection access road. We examined the possibility of installation and standardization of this facility and its impact on vehicular speed management and carbon emission reduction. METHODS : To review the installation and standardization possibilities, the geometric size of the marking was set. The possibility of standardization was examined by applying it to lane markings. The velocity before and after the installation of the marking was compared and analyzed through the velocity estimation equation to assess the impact on speed management. Carbon emissions were estimated by comparing the emissions before and after applying the marking. RESULTS : The s-type approach lane marking can be installed near the stop line of the intersection access road. It was possible to standardize the lane marking by suggesting a formula to determine the size of the geometry. Additionally, the marking enabled vehicular speed management and improvement in the carbon yield. The marking decreased speeds by approximately 10 km/h, from the original speed of 36 km/h to 25.5 km/h after installation. The standard deviation per vehicle was reduced by approximately 5.9 km/h, from 5.8 km/h to 0.9 km/h. Additionally, carbon emissions decreased by 17%, from 14.1 g/40 m to 11.7 g/40 m. CONCLUSIONS : The geometry and size of the lane marking installation can be set near the stop line of the approach road. Standardization of this facility was also possible. The s-type lane marking, installed at the stop line of the approach road, has the potential to control the speed, reduce the acceleration or deceleration, and reduce the carbon emission. In the future, it is expected that such lane markings can be applied to multi-faceted areas

        췌장암은 예후가 불량하며, 수술적 절제를 통해서만 완치를 기대할 수 있으나 20% 내외의 환자만이 근치적 절제가 가능한 병기에서 진단이 된다. 또한 전신 항암화학치료에 대한 반응도 좋지 않아 항암화학 요법의 개선에도 불구하고 절제 불가능한 췌장암의 예후는 특히 불량하다. 국소진행성 췌장암의 경우 조기의 적극적인 치료로 종양의 용적을 감소시켜 병기를 낮출 수 있다면 수술적 치료가 가능해질 가능성이 있기 때문에 전신 항암화학요법과 병행하는 내시경적 국소 치료의 중요성이 더욱 높다고 할 수 있다. 국소 치료의 종류로는 항암제나 바이러스 벡터를 종양에 주입하는 EUS-FNI와 RFA, IRE 등의 국소 종양 제거술(local ablative therapy), 정위적 방사선 치료를 위한 표식자 삽입(fiducial marker insertion), 악성 담도 폐쇄 시 삽입한 스텐트 기능 유지를 위한 약물-배출 스텐트 삽입 등이 있다.
