        After examining the difference in the photosynthesis rate of corn according to the planting distance, the distance of 40 × 40 cm showed the lowest rate by 23 days after transplanting (May 31); however, there was no significant difference in the photosynthesis rate due to increased salt tolerance in the plant as time went by. As for the difference in growth features of a plant, the planting distance of 40×40cm showed a growing disorder due to the influence of salt by 23 days after transplantation (May 31); however, there was a desirable growth as time went by. For the difference in the salt content within a plant, the planting distance of 40×40cm tended to be higher than other planting distances, and the K⁺ content is much higher than other kinds of salt after examining the difference in salt absorption. As for the correlation between saline components within a plant, there was a significant negative correlation among K⁺, Ca²⁺, and Na⁺ while there was a significant positive correlation among Mg²⁺, Ca²⁺, and Na⁺. After examining the effectiveness of salt removal from soil according to corn cultivation, the planting distance of 30×30㎝ showed a remarkable decrease by 37 days, compared with 23 days, after transplantation in K⁺ by 28%, Ca²⁺ by 36.6 %, Mg²⁺ by 30.6 %, and Na⁺ by 22.9 %. And the salt content is higher in surface soil than in subsoil.

        Recently many countries agreed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere or at least to keep them at the current level at the Kyoto Protocol. Carbon dioxide has been proven to be 80% of greenhouse gases, contributing to the increase of the earth’s surface temperature. It is reported that half of the CO2 emissions are produced by industry and power plants using fossil fuels. In this article, we review and analysis domestic and abroad R&D policy trends relating to UN framework convention on climate change(UNFCCC).

        This study was carried out to clarify the effects of antagonistic microorganism, Bacillus sp. JC181 isolated from the greenhouse soil grown cucumber plants on the growth inhibition of plant pathogen, fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) occurred in cucumber plants in greenhouse. Antagonistic bacterial strains were isolated and were investigated into the antifungal activity of the antagonistic microorganism against fusarium wilt. Screened fourteen bacterial strains which strongly inhibited F. oxysporum were isolated from the greenhouse soil grown cucumber plants, and the best antagonistic bacterial strain designated as JC181, was finally selected. Antagonistic bacterial strain JC181 was identified to be the genus Bacillus sp. based on the morphological and biochemical characterization. Bacillus sp. JC181 showed 58.2% of antifungal activity against the plant pathogen growth of F. oxysporum. By the bacterialization of culture broth and heated filtrates of culture broth, Bacterial strain, Bacillus sp. JC181. showed 91.2% and 26.0% of antifungal activity against F. oxysporum, respectively.

        깻잎을 이용한 건강 식품을 개발하고자 먼저 깻잎의 주산지인 금산에서 5월 온실재배한 깻잎과 8월 노지재배한 깻잎들의 품질특성과 향기성분을 조사하였다. 시료깻잎 모두 4.0%의 조단백질과 0.8%의 조지방을 함유하고 있었고 플라보노이드의 함량은 온실재배 깻잎 25.2%, 노지재배 깻잎 26.5%로 시료깻잎간에 큰 차이는 나타나지 않았으며 조사포닌 함량도 2.7%와 2.8%로 비슷하였다. 시료깻잎의 효소 활성은 오직 알칼리성 단백질 분해효소 활성만이

        This study was conducted to screen the antagonistic bacteria which inhibit the growth of plant pathogen, fusarium wilt(Fusarium oxysporum) occurred in tomato plants in greenhouse. We isolated an effective bacterial strains and investigated into the antifungal activity of the antagonistic microorganism and it"s identification. Ten bacterial strains which strongly inhibited Fusarium oxysporum were isolated from the nature, and the best antagonistic bacterial strain designated as KC175, was selected. The antagonistic strain KC175 was identified to be the genus Bacillus sp. based on the morphological and biochemical characterization. The Bacillus sp. KC175 showed 58.2% of antifungal activity against the growth of Fusarium oxysporum. By the bacterialization of the culture broth and the heat bacterialization culture filtrate of it, Bacillus sp. KC175 showed 91% and 18% of antifungal activity, respectively.

        The focus of this study was to identify and describe environmental preconceptions held by pre-service elementary teachers about three issues : greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion and acid rain. Two hundred and twenty nine pre-service elementary teachers participated in this study. A 36 question survey was created by one of the authors. The questions focused on the cause, effects, and interactions of three environmental issues : greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion and acid rain. Pre-service elementary teachers answered the questions on a Likert scale. An analysis of the survey data indicated that the majority of pre-service elementary teachers possess an array of incorrect conceptions about the causes and effects of the greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion, and acid rain. and also many pre-service elementary teachers thought that there were causal relationships among the increase in greenhouse effect, the destruction of ozone layer, and the increase of acid rain.
