        The Pressure Retarded Osmosis (PRO) is the next generation desalination technique and is considered as a eco-friendly energy. This was conducted to evaluate the effect of the temperature and pressure on the PRO performance. The flux of the permeation was measured under different operating conditions and estimated the power density. An improvement of PRO performance is depend on increasing solution temperature and optimum pressure. The effect of increasing feed solution temperature has stronger impact on the PRO performance comparing to the draw solution temperature. The reason of the results was due to the change of osmotic power, viscosity, water permeability and structure parameter(s).

        The main objective of this paper is to develop computer simulation program for performance evaluation and cost estimation of a reverse osmosis (RO) and pressure-retarded osmosis (PRO) hybrid process to propose guidelines for its economic competitiveness use in the field. A solution-diffusion model modified with film theory and a simple cost model was applied to the simulation program. Using the simulation program, the effects of various factors, including the Operating conditions, membrane properties, and cost parameters on the RO and RO-PRO hybrid process performance and cost were examined. The simulation results showed that the RO-PRO hybrid process can be economically competitive with the RO process when electricity cost is more than 0.2 $/kWh, the PRO membrane cost is same as RO membrane cost, the power density is more than 8 W/m2 and PRO recovery is same as 1/(1-RO recovery).

        Recently, reverse osmosis (RO) is the most common process for seawater desalination. A common problem in both RO and thermal processes is the high energy requirements for seawater desalination. The one energy saving method when utilizing the osmotic power is utilizing pressure retarded osmosis (PRO) process. The PRO process can be used to operate hydro turbines for electrical power production or can be used directly to supplement the energy required for RO desalination system. This study was carried out to evaluate the performance of both single-stage PRO process and two-stage PRO process using RO concentrate for a draw solution and RO permeate for a feed solution. The major results, were found that increase of the draw and feed solution flowrate lead to increase of the production of power density and water permeate. Also, comparison between CDCF and CDDF configuration showed that the CDDF was better than CDCF for stable operation of PRO process. In addition, power density of two-stage PRO was lower than the one of single-stage. However, net power of two-stage PRO was higher than the one of single-stage PRO.

        최근 정삼투(FO) 공정의 성능향상을 위해 유입수에 낮은 수압을 가하는 가압형 정삼투(PAFO) 공정이 관심을 받 고 있다. Structure parameter는 FO 및 PAFO 공정 운전시 유도용질의 확산 저항성(Solute resistivity)을 결정하며, 이는 Solution-diffusion model (S-D model)을 통한 수투과 및 염투과 성능 예측을 지배하는 인자 중에 하나이다. 본 연구는 S-D model을 이용하여 가압형 정삼투시 유입수 측에 가해지는 압력에 따른 Structure parameter 변화 양상을 예측하고자 하였다.

        최근 국내에서는 월성 1호기 및 고리 1호기를 포함하여 운영 중인 원자력발전소가 노후화함에 따라 원전 해체에 대한 관심 이 많이 증대되고 있다. 이와 관련하여 월성 1호기의 계속운전이 최근 결정되었으며, 고리 1호기의 경우 2017년 6월 영구정 지하기로 결정되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 상업용 원자로로서는 국내 최초로 해체가 예정된 고리 1호기에 대해, 원자로 압 력용기 자체의 해체로 인해 발생하는 방사성폐기물 최종 처분량을 원자로 압력용기 절단 방법 및 방사성폐기물 처분용기를 고려하여 산정하였다. 처분용기를 고려한 방사성폐기물 처분량을 산정한 결과 원자로 압력용기 몸통 부위보다는 반구 형태 의 헤드 부분을 작게 절단할수록 최종 처분량이 감소하는 것으로 예측되었다. 또한 경주 방폐장의 200 L 및 320 L 드럼 처분 용 처분용기의 경우 무게 제한으로 인해 적재효율이 좋지 못한 것으로 나타났다.

        The current disinfection method of vehicles being applied in South Korea has various shortcomings. So, the epidemic has generated continuously at livestock farms. It is very important to develop an effective disinfection system for reduction of the epidemic. And various basic data is required for this development. Therefore, this study was performed to identify the nozzle type and proper discharge pressure of sprayers. The experiment was conducted from January 10, 2012 until February 28, 2012. All the performance measurement experiments were repeated five times. The subjects of experiment were the A, B and C company’s products. The sprayed capacity, angle of spray and the covering area ratio were measured for each product. As a result, the sprayed capacity, angle of spray and the covering area ratio were increased as the discharge pressure of the sprayer was increased. In conclusion, the conical shaped of the nozzle is considered more appropriate than V-shaped, and the proper discharge pressure is expected to be at least 20kg/cm2.

        As CFRP with only a single material shows the various fracture properties, it has been applied to the many areas through the whole industry. The method bonding with adhesive has been recommended to apply the CFRP to structure. But it is inevitable that the mechanical joints with bolt, nut and rivet have been used sometimes. This study investigates the effect that these joints influence the CFRP panel through the analysis result. The analysis models as CFRP panels with the thickness of 5 mm have four kinds of layer angles which are 30°, 45°, 60° and 75°. The fracture property is examined when the pressure by the mechanical joint is applied to the upper panel. As the joint pressure is distributed most effectively in case of the layer angle of 60°, it is shown that this pressure becomes lower and the deformation of panel becomes lowest. On the basis of this study result, it is thought that the foundation data for the design of CFRP structure can be provided and contributed to the safety design of structure.

        재래식 해수담수화 수평적 압력용기 설계는 후단에 있는 역삼투막에는 농축수에 의해 수질악화 및 생산수저감 등이 동반된다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 개념적인 중앙 주입식 압력용기가 생산수 단가에 미치는 영향과 역삼투 공정 설계 시 주요 인자들이 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사를 위해 상업화된 역삼 투 프로그램인 ROSA를 이용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 중앙 주입식 압력용기를 이용할 경우 총괄적인 회수율과 SEC 측면에서 성능이 저하하지만, 막 모듈 당 생산되는 생산수량이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 생산수의 수질개선은 2단 설계의 용량 감소로 인하여 건설비 저감으로 연계되는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구는 국토교통부 플랜트연구사업의 연구비지원(과제번호 16IFIP-B089908-03)에 의해 수행되었습니다.

        역삼투(RO) 해수담수화 공정에 필요한 많은 에너지를 절감하기 위해 최근에 다양한 연구개발이 추진 중이다. 그 중에서 농도차에 의해 발생하는 삼투현상을 이용한 정삼투(FO)와 압력지연삼투(PRO) 기술을 접목한 하이브리드 해수담수화 공정들이 대표적이다. 특히, PRO 기술은 해수담수화 플랜트에서 배출되는 농축수와 하수처리수를 PRO 시스템의 유도용액과 원수로 각각 활용하여 두 용액의 염도차에 의해 발생되는 에너지를 회수함으로써, 기존 역삼투 해수담수화 공정 대비 25% 이상의 에너지 절감이 가능하며, 해수담수화 플랜트의 고농도 농축수를 희석 방류함으로써 해양생태계 파괴 방지 및 농축수 처리비용 절감 등의 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

        Injection rate, injection quantity and injection timing of fuel are controlled precisely by electric control in CRDI system.Particularly, injection rate being influenced with injection pressure affects to spray characteristics and fuel-air ratio, so it is a very important factor in diesel combustion. In this study, injection rates in accordance with injection pressure at a constant ambient pressure were measured with Zeuch's method. Under the same condition, non-evaporating spray images were taken with a high speed camera and analyzed carefully with Adobe Photoshop CS3. Macroscopic spray characteristics and breakup processes in the spray could be found from the examined and analyzed data. Injection start time and injection period were practically affected with injection pressure. Also, initial injection rate, spray penetration, spray angle and breakup of high density droplets region in the spray were affected with injection pressure. The results and techniques of spray visualization and injection rate measurement in this study would be practically effective to study a high pressure diesel spray for common rail direct injection system.

        This paper presents the approach of design parameters optimization based on Taguchi method for the uniformity of outlet pressure in a plasma discharge chamber. The key issue of a plasma discharge chamber is to have the uniformity of outlet pressure which can make a high performance of surface treatment. To extend the length of a outlet from 60mm to 250mm with the uniformity, This study optimally designed the middle holes, outlet width and height, and diameter of the second chamber by using SolidWorks and flow simulation tool. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.
