        Fire fighting robots to cope with fire are used to support fire fighting activities of firefighters. In the field of fire, the thermal performance test of the fire fighting robot is indispensable as the radiation intensity is high. For this purpose, a thermal barrier material which can be used for heat shielding was selected. Also, the results of the thermal barrier study, which can improve the heat shielding for the fire fighting robots, are presented by evaluating the characteristics of the heat shields of the material. By coating the Ag film on the surface of the robot, heat transmitted to the inside can be shielded, and the thermal barrier effect due to the difference in the thickness of the Ag coating can be seen. It can be seen that a secondary thermal barrier system using an Ag coated insulating box and a heat insulating board capable of protecting the electronic devices of the fire fighting robot at high temperatures and protecting the electronic devices for smooth functioning is efficient. This study is introduced a thermal barrier structure and system that can be used for fire fighting robots.

        A colony of Solenopsis invicta was first intercepted on Gamman pier, Pusan port in Korea at September, 2017 by Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency. The mitochondrial DNA (mt-DNA) of workers was analyzed and compared with vary libraries of mt-DNA haplotypes to elucidate the origin of the introduced colony with the trade pattern of the Gamman pier. The mt-DNA fragment of 768 bp, which is part of the Cytochrome oxidae I gene, was amplified and sequenced. The results showed that the mt-DNA was in the clade of haplotype 5, which is endemic in southern USA, China, Taiwan, and Australia. More than 60% of containers are imported from China into Gamman pier, it may be possible to assume that the colony was inadvertently invaded through containers from China.

        In the event of an outbreak of fire in an underground subway station, the speed of movement slows down as many people try to evacuate at once and bottlenecks might begin to occur in some locations, potentially resulting in catastrophic accidents. This study aims to analyze egress routes depending on, among other factors that influence evacuation in the event of an outbreak of fire, the characteristics of occupants and the initial points of fire using the GongEgress simulation program. The simulation result shows that the evacuation time of the vulnerable users is found to take 18% longer than that of ordinary people, and the transfer passageways have lower survival probability compared to that of the platforms. Through the analysis of the results, the structural features of the underground subway station and the points of fire are proved to be the major factors that determine the survival probability of the occupants. Therefore, safety training for passengers through conducting fire drills at the station or fire accident simulations can be established in the evacuation route and plan for reaction at the station or fire accident simulations.         This study develops numerical model of mega composite columns in fire and investigates the residual areas using 500℃ isotherm method and residual capacity of mega composite columns after 3 hours. In order to perform heat transfer analysis, thermal properties of steels and concrete were adopted from Eurocodes. In addition to, the temperature distributions of composite columns with respect to fire tests were compared with numerical analysis results. As a result, residual capacity of mega composite column with 1m width remained more than 45%. The residual capacity of mega composite column was only increased to 2.3∼2.6% with the use of additional rebars.

        컨테이너를 이용한 위험물의 해상운송이 증가함에 따라 적재불량으로 인한 위험물의 누설 등으로 선박에서 화재사고가 발 생하고 있다. 한편, IMO(MSC.93)에서는 2016년 1월 1일 이후 건조되는 개방갑판상에 컨테이너를 5단 이상 적재하도록 된 모든 선박은 물분무창(Water Mist Lance, WML)이라는 소화장치를 선박에 의무적으로 비치하도록 규정하였다. 본 연구에서는 LS-DYNA를 이용하여 최적의 첨단곡률반경을 가지는 WML을 설계하기 위한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 첨단부분의 길이가 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm인 3가지 모델에 대한 해석결과 길이가 15 mm인 경우만 컨테이너 벽면을 관통하고, WML의 첨단부분에 손상을 일으키지 않는 결과를 나타내었다. 향후, 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 테스트용 WML를 제작하여 성능실험을 할 계획이며, 문제점은 지속적으로 개선해 나갈 것이다.

        선박 거주구역에 화재발생 시 화재시뮬레이션 도구를 이용하여 화재확산형상을 실시간으로 예측하고 상황에 따른 적절한 대응방안을 제시할 수 있다면 화재사고로 인한 인명피해를 최소화시킬 수 있을 것으로 예상된다. 그러나 오늘날 화재시뮬레이션은 해 석대상공간의 크기와 그리드 개수에 따라 해석을 하는데 있어, 매우 장시간을 필요로 하는 현실적 한계가 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 화재시뮬레이션 시간단축을 목적으로 선박 거주구역 화재시뮬레이션에 적용할 수 있는 격자크기와 생성방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였 다. 연구결과 선박 거주구역에 적용되는 격자크기는 0.25[m] 이내의 값을 사용하는 것이 가장 효율적인 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 single mesh 격자생성방법으로 수행했을 경우와 비교하여, multi mesh 격자생성방법으로 시뮬레이션을 수행하였을 때 가시거리 값은 4.3 %, 온 도 값은 8.3% 이내에서 유사하고 해석시간은 약 80% 감소하였기 때문에, multi mesh 방법으로 격자를 생성하는 것이 해석시간을 단축 하는데 있어 매우 효과적임을 확인하였다.

        PURPOSES: The occurrence of unexpected disasters, including fire events, increases as the road network becomes complicated and traffic volume increases. When a fire event occurs on and under bridges, the damage extensively influences direct damage to structures, vehicles, and human life and secondary socioeconomic issues owing to traffic blockage. This study investigated potential fire-hazard risks on bridges of the Korean national route roadMETHODS: The investigation was conducted using field investigation and analysis with satellite pictures and road views from commercial websites and the Bridge Management System (BMS). From the filed investigation, various potential fire resources were identified. The satellite pictures and road views were helpful in measuring and recognizing conditions underneath bridges, stowage areas, etc.RESULTS : There are various potential fire resources underneath bridges such as piled agricultural products, parked petroleum tanks, construction equipment, and attached high-voltage cables. A total of 94.6% of bridges have underneath clearances of less than 15 m. A bridge underneath volume that can stow a potential fire hazard resource was 7,332 m3 on average, and most bridges have about 4,000 m3 of space. Based on the BMS data, the amounts of PSC and steel girders were 29% and 25%, respectively.CONCLUSIONS : It was found that the amount of stowed potential fire hazard resources was proportional to the underneath space of bridges. Most bridges have less than 15 m of vertical clearance that can be considered as a critical value for a bridge fire. The fire risk investigation results should be helpful for developing bridge fire-protection tools.

        A number of plating companies have been exposed to the risk of fire due to unexpected temperature increasing of water or other reasons in a plating bath. Since the companies are not able to forecast the unexpected temperature increasing of plating bath and most of raw materials in the bath have low ignition temperature, it is easy to be exposed to the risk of fire. Thus, in previous study, we tried to monitor and notice the dangerous change of temperature of water immediately to prevent the risk of fire from plating process. However, unfortunately previous studies were not able to shut out the fundamental cause of fire since bath temperature sensor can detect air temperature when the level sensor was malfunctioned. In this paper we developed the Teflon heater which contains a built in temperature sensor and improved plating equipment system. Teflon heater is improved using Pt 100Ω sensor which can detect until 600°C . When the bath temperature sensor detects over 60°C or the Teflon heater sensor detects over 240°C they temporarily shut down the heater to control temperature. Also relay completely shuts down main power when detects instant temperature is detected over 5% of 240°C by the heater sensor to prevent teflon melting down and fire spreads. Developed plating equipment system can monitor a real time temperature in the teflon tube and bath water. Therefore we think the proposed plating equipment can eliminate the possibility of fire in plating processes fundamentally.

        This study attempted to establish fire risk factors and preventive measures for each of five major types of construction, focusing on construction sites. For this purpose, disaster cases were analyzed and countermeasures were prepared. In addition, fire risk factors and flammable and combustible materials by construction type according to construction process were identified and preventive measures thereof were suggested. The results of this study can be used to establish policy improvement directions that meet various educational needs and expectations by identifying the use status of flammable and combustible materials and figuring out the fire risk factors according to the process by work type in construction sites.

        In recent years after the Sewol Sank, the surroundings of Fire have rapidly changed and citizens need for Fire have been demanding very high. Under these situations, in order for satisfaction to all these demands, Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters(SMFDH) have made improvements of Golden Time in the field of disaster as the leader of Fire Department in Korea. SMFDH has been practicing many kinds of plans, or projects to achieve Gold Time of 55 types of disaster. However, There have been questioning about all these projects if they are working for the achievement. The purpose of this study is to scrutinize current projects for Golden Time Targeting focused on Mapo fire fighters as first responders and to cope with how to make them better for Seoul Citizens’ safety by using SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Science) Statistics 24. The result of this study presents that how we can find to be all the project for Golden Time Targeting running well. And This study will be positively applied to Seoul fire policies or helped for setting them up better.

        Wildfire is one of important disturbances in forests, which may effect on insects distribution. In Sangju, about 13 haof pine forests was burned in March, 2017. We investigated the response of insects to fire severity in burned pine forests,Sangju. Study area was classified by fire severity as 5 classes, such as unburned, light, light-moderate, moderate-severe,and severe. We placed 4 multi-funnel traps in each fire severity class. A total of 729 insects belonging to 42 specieswere collected during May 24 to October 12, 2017. Spondylis buprestoides (447 individuals), Sipalinus gigas (50 individuals),and Acanthocinus carinulatus (43 individuals) were dominant species accounted for 74.1% of total. According to fire severity,abundance and species richness were increased with fire severity, especially in high-medium area. Interestingly, two Monochamusspecies, vector insects of pine wood nematodes, were more caught in more severed area than in other classes.

        To minimize and prevent the increasing fire and personal injury, the domestic firefighting organizations are making continuous efforts to strengthen the response system and safety standards. "Fire Reduction Program" has been prepared to reduce the outbreak of fire up to 20% in the next 10 years, and the analysis of fire sources should be done and its countermeasures also should be done accordingly. Therefore, the management status, the improvement tasks, and the limitations of the implementation plan are reviewed and studied so that the implementation and goal of the "Fire Reduction Policy" can be achieved

        PVA 부직포의 방염성을 향상시키기 위하여 POCl3로 방염처리하였다. POCl3로 처리한 PVA 부직포의 물리적 및 열적 특성을 측정하고 분석하였다. 개질한 PVA 부직포는 대부분 물에 용해하지 않았으나 수축과 스웰링 특성을 보 였다. POCl3로 방염처리한 PVA 부직포의 열적 특성이 우수하고 방염특성이 원시료 보다 많이 우수한 것을 확인하였다. 그라프트 비와 염색성 사이의 선형관계는 PVA 부직포의 히드록시기와 POCl3가 공유결합으로 연결된 것에 기인하는 것 으로 분석되었다.

        In this study, using the synetics technique for strategies by making unfamiliarity into familiarity in the case of 911 terrorism. This study has meaningful messages for citizens and firefighters’ illness caused by disaster sites in the field of disaster management in Korea. There are 7 stages to explain cause of a variety of cancers happening to citizens and firefighters in this study. The 7 stages are composed of real situation, direct analogies, personal analogies, symbolic analogies, new direct analogies, and review. This synetics will contribute to providing better ideas for citizens and firefighters’ physical and mental health conditions.
