        In order to understand Xǔ Shèn’s 許慎 contribution to the analysis of the Chinese writing system, it is important to clarify the terminology he uses in his Shuōwén jiězì 說文解字 (100 AD). In this paper I shall focus on the term shěng 省. Scholars who have studied the problem of shěng 省 in Shuōwén usually tried to reveal the mistakes either made by Xǔ Shèn or added later to the text, from different perspectives including the classification of the graphs in traditional liùshū approach, paleography, as well as phonological reconstructions. i Most of these authors may be right in their critical investigation of shěng 省, there are indeed many mistakes in Xǔ Shèn’s graphic analysis, but none of them considered the problem as a whole or tried to understand what was the real reason for Xǔ Shèn to use this term. Shěng 省is a rather complex term with different significations, such as ommission, abbreviation, fusion, etc. I shall first clarify the meanings and uses of shěng in Shuōwén, before trying to understand why Xǔ Shèn needed this special term. We will see that despite many mistaken graphic analysis, already described by Chēn Shìhuī 陳世輝 (1979), Qiú Xīguī 裘錫圭 (1988), and others, shěng 省was an important tool for Xǔ Shèn’s methodological approach to the Chinese writing system that also shows his deep knowledge of the evolution of the script.

        모조품 이미지의 산자이 브랜드들이 최근 시장에서 급속도로 수용되어 주류 글로벌 브랜드를 위협하게 된 이유 는 무엇일까? 본 연구는 소비자의 사회계층 이동성 인식과 그에 따른 실용적 소비 마인드의 활성화가 소비자로 하여금 산자이 브랜드의 낮은 상징적 가치보다는 우수한 실용적인 측면을 중시하게 하였고 이에 따라 산자이 브 랜드 선호가 증가하게 되었다고 제시한다. 이러한 사회계층 이동성 인식과 산자이 브랜드 선호 사이의 인과관계 를 검증하기 위하여 행동 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 소비자들이 자신이 속한 사회의 계층 이동성이 제한되어 있다고 인식하는 경우에는(vs. 제한되어 있지 않다고 인식하는 경우), 기능적, 실용적 측면에서 우수하나 브랜드 의 상징적 가치가 낮은 산자이 제품의 선호가 증가하는 것을 발견하였다. 또한, 이 현상은 낮은 사회계층 이동성 인식이 소비자들의 실용적 소비 마인드를 활성화시키기 때문이라는 것을 매개효과 검증을 통하여 확인하였다. 이 러한 결과는 최근 글로벌 사회에서 널리 담론화되고 있는 사회계층 이동성의 둔화가 소비자의 제품 평가와 선호 도에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다.

        We study the physical and chemical properties of the molecular clump hosting a young stellar cluster, IRAS 20160+3636, which is believed to have formed via the “collect and collapse” process. Physical parameters of the UC Hii region associated with the embedded cluster are measured from the radio continuum observations. This source is found to be a typical Galactic UC Hii region, with a B0.5 type exciting star, if it is ionized by a single star. We derive a CN/HCN abundance ratio larger than 1 over this region, which may suggest that this clump is being affected by the UV radiation from the Hii region.

        We have estimated the fractal dimension of the molecular clouds associated with the H ΙΙ region Sh 156 in the Outer Galaxy. We selected the 12CO cube data from the FCRAO CO Survey of the Outer Galaxy. Using a developed code within IRAF, we identified slice-clouds (2-dimensional clouds in velocity-channel maps) with two threshold temperatures to estimate the fractal dimension. With the threshold temperatures of 1.8 K, and 3 K, we identified 317 slice-clouds and 217 slice-clouds, respectively. There seems to be a turn-over location in fractional dimension slope around NP (area; number of pixel) = 40. The fractal dimensions was estimated to be D = 1.5 ∼ 1.53 for NP ≥ 40, where P ∝ AD/2 (P is perimeter and A is area), which is slightly larger than other results. The sampling rate (spatial resolution) of observed data must be an important parameter when estimating fractal dimension. Fractal dimension is apparently invariant when varying the threshold temperatures applied to slice-clouds identification.

But it is known that NO is not function ing as a direct neurotoxin. NO combined with superoxide(02-) by the diffusion-contl'O ll ed reaction, formed a peroxin it ri te anion (ONOO-)‘ which this s pecies has been shown to contribute to oxidative s igna ling and damage. ONOO stimuJates apoptosis in many cell types. whether ONOO acts direct ly as an ox idant 0 1' the induction of apoptosis is because of the radicals derived from ONOO- decompositi on . But. the mecha ni sm by which ONOO- induces apoptosis is un clear although subsequent forrnation 0 1' reactive oxygen s pecies(ROS) has been suggested in a few reports The aim of this study is to investigate the a nti -apoptotic pathway by inhibi tion 0 1' ONOO synthesis t hrough scavenging of ROS us ing s pecific wavelength 0 1' light irradiation . The present study investi gated the a nti -apop totic effect of the specific wavelength 0 1' irradi ation in Sodium Nitroprusside(SNP) t reated SJ-I-SY5Y ceJls, by MTT, DNA fragmentation, and flow cytometric assay and th rough western blot and caspase-3, -9 activity assay for confirmation of caspase pathway. Also. NO reJease and ROS leveJ was measured in order to observe the changes of NO involved in radical by Griess reaction analysis and DCF'-DH. Results showed that the cell viability were r educed by about 50% of control group by SNP treatment, but re covered to about 80% by 590nm irradiation . The apoptotic cells were observed by flow cytomet ry and DNA fra g mentation assay in SNP-treated group‘ but 590nm irradiation led apoptotic feature to be reduced . Released NO a nd ROS level were increased after SNP treatment but ROS level was dec reased in 590nm irradi at ion - treated group, in spite of high NO concentration fo llowing SNP treatment Also. SNP t reatment led cytochrom C release but 590nm irraidiation inhibit it, hence the expression 0 1' caspase-3 and -9 was dec reased sign ificantly‘ These results showed that 590nm irradiation protect neuronal death thl'Ough bl ocking of NO-induced mi tochondri al apoptotic pathway. Also, it suggests that specific wavelength of irradi ation was used for prevent ion from neurodegenerative disordcr progression

        The study examines hardness pattern of SH737-2Cu-.9C samples transient liquid phase sintered at different temperatures viz. , and , heat treated by various methods and then tempered at different temperatures. Sintered samples were characterized for density and densification parameter, and austenitized at , subsequently cooled by four different methods viz. annealing, normalizing, oil and brine quenching. Hardness pattern was found minimum for air cooled and maximum for brine quenched, and samples sintered at had relatively higher hardness. The O.Q and B.Q samples were then tempered at , , and .         We have conducted observations toward the molecular cloud associated with the H II region Sh 156 in 13CO(J = 1-0), C18O(J = 1-0), and CS(J = 2 -1) using the TRAO 14 m telescope. Combining with existing 12CO(J = 1- 0) data of the Outer Galaxy Survey, we delineated the physical properties of the cloud. We found that there is a significant sign of interaction between the H II region and the molecular gas. We estimated the masses of the molecular cloud, using three different techniques; the most plausible mass is estimated to be 1.37 X 105M⊙, using a conversion factor of X = 1.9 X 1020cm-2 (K km s-1)-1, and this is similar to virial mass estimate. This implies that the cloud is gravitationally bound and in virial equilibrium even though it is closely associated with the H II region. In addition to existing outflow, we found several MSX and IRAS point sources associated with dense core regions. Thus, more star forming activities other than the existing H II region are also going on in this region.

        IASL(iodo acetamide) and MSL(maleimide) disordered the orderly helix arrangement of myosin in the rest state of spin level. Especially the effect of IASL was great. Equatorial refiection(10,11) change inferred that myosin head was moved to the vicinity of actin filament by spin level. The intensity change of 143a and 72a could offer information of the mass projection of population of myosin heads along the :filament axis. The slope of intensity profile of the mass projection of 143a and reflection of IASL is appeared and that of MSL is appeared sharply. The decrease of 215a reflection intensity is appeared the periodical characteristic of 143a reflection by spin label. The raise of MSL actin reflection at 51a and 59a in the actin reflection change refers that the shifted myosin head binds a certain actin or changes an actin structure by spin label effect. Because iodo acetamide has a tendency to decease the actin reflection, actin dose not bind myosin head. From this result, we could conclude that LASL and MSL are spin labeled on SH of myosin head and disordered the helix arrangement of actin.

        Near-infrared imaging photometry supplemented by optical spectroscopy and narrow-band imaging of the H II region Sh 2-128 and its environment are presented. This region contains a developed H II region and the neighboring compact H II region S 128N associated with a pair of water maser sources. Midway between these, the core of a CO cloud is located. The principal ionizing source of Sh 2-128 is an 07 star close to its center. A new spectroscopic distance of 9.4 kpc is derived, very similar to the kinematic distance to the nebula. This implies a galactocentric distance of 13.5 kpc and z = 550 pc. The region is optically thin with abundances close to those predicted by galactocentric gradients. The JHK_s images show that S 128N contains several infrared point sources and nebular emission knots with large near-infrared excesses. One of the three red Ks knots coincides with the compact H II region. A few of the infrared-excess objects are close to known mid- and far-infrared emission peaks. Star counts in J and K_s show the presence of a small cluster of B-type stars, mainly associated with S 128N. The JHKs photometric properties together with the characteristics of the other objects in the vicinity suggest that Sh 2-128 and S 128N constitute a single complex formed from the same molecular cloud, with ages ~ 106 and < 3 X 105 years respectively. No molecular hydrogen emission was detected at 2.12 μm. The origin of this remote star forming region is an open problem.

        본 노문은 임의형상의 퇴적층을 갖는 반부한 영역내에서 SH하가 경사지게 입사할 때의 지진응답을 연구하였다. 그리고 비균질 퇴적층인 반무한 영역에서 파의 증폭을 다루었다. 사용한 수치해석 방법으로는 유한요소법과 경계요소법을 결합하여 수치해석하였다. 반무한 영역에서 자유장 응답과 정해를 비교 분석한 결과 잘 일치하여 검증되었다. 불규칙한 형상의 비균질 퇴적층을 갖는 부지에서의 지진응답 해석은 본 연구에서 개발한 수치해석 방법으로 가능하다. 따라서 임의 층상구조를 갖는 연약층에서의 SH파 증폭과 임의 각도와 입사하는 SH파에 대한 지진응답을 해석하였다.

        Bacillus subtilis SH-1 have been isolated and identified from coastal sea, in Pusan. The optimal cultural characterization of Bacillus subtilis SH-1 for the production of bacteriolytic enzyme was determined. Bacillus subtilis SH-1 produced the bacteriolytic enzyme well in the medium consist of 1.0% glucose, 1.0% yeast extract, 1.0% NaCl, 0.02% K₂HPO₄, 0.002% MgSO₄, 7H₂O, 0.001% MnSO₄, 5H₂O, and 0.0001% FeSO₄, 7H₂O. The optimal medium pH, incubation temperature, and shaking time for the highest production of the enzyme were 8.0, 30℃ and 28 hours respectively.

        Background : Cellular oxidative stress as reactive oxygen species (ROS), whether produced endogenously as a consequence of normal cell functions or derived from external sources, pose a constant threat to cells living in an aerobic environment as they can result in severe damage to DNA, protein, and lipids. The effects of Valeriana fauriei extract and fractions on hydrogen peroxide-induced neuronal cell damage are studied. Methods and Results : Oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathological process of neurodegenerative diseases. Valeriana fauriei extract (VFE) and EA fractions (VFEA) was investigated total phenolic contents using method. VFE of total phenolic contents had 2.54 ± 0.01 mg/g, also, VFEA had a 18.78 ± 0.03 mg/g. High phenolic content of the VFEA is expected to better the inhibition of oxidative stress. VFE and VFEA were experimented to inhibit ROS induced 200 μM 3-morpholinosydnonimine (SIN-1). VFE of inhibit SIN-1 induced-ROS dose dependently and signficantly. In addition, VFEA inhibition was also dose dependant and significant. Moreover, The treatment of SH-SY5Y and SK-N-SH cells with VFEA significantly reduced hydrogen peroxide-induced generation of intercellular ROS. Conclusion : From the above results, we may suggest that VFEA might have useful as a material for functional food and pharmaceutics for the pathological process of neurodegenerative diseases.
