        The objective of this study was to determine the effect of various roughage sources on nutrient digestibility and enteric methane (CH4), and carbon dioxide (CO2) production in goats. Four castrated black goats (48.5 ± 0.6 kg) were individually housed in environmentally controlled respiration-metabolism chambers. The experiment design was a 4 × 4 balanced Latin square design with 4 roughage types and 4 periods. Alfalfa, tall fescue, rice straw, and corn silage was used as representative of legume, grass, straw, and silage, respectively. Dry matter digestibility was higher (p < 0.001) in corn silage than in alfalfa hay. Dry matter digestibility of alfalfa hay was higher than those of tall fescue or rice straw (p < 0.001). Neutral detergent fiber digestibility of tall fescue was lower (p < 0.001) than those of alfalfa, rice straw, or corn silage. Daily enteric CH4 production and the daily enteric CH4 production per kilogram of BW0.75, dry matter intake (DMI), organic matter intake (OMI), digested DMI, and digested OMI of rice straw did not differ from those of tall fescue but were higher (p < 0.001) than those of alfalfa or corn silage. Roughage type had no effect on enteric CO2 emission in goats. Straw appeared to generate more enteric CH4 production than legume or silage, but similar to grass.

        대기오염에 대한 관심은 국내·외에서 점진적으로 상승하고 있으며, 자동차 및 연료 연구자들은 청정(친환경 대체연료) 연료와 연료품질 향상 등을 이용하여 새로운 엔진 설계, 혁신적인 후처리 시스템 등의 연구를 통하여 차량 배기가스 및 온실가스를 감소시키고자 노력하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 각기 다른 차량기술이 적용된 휘발유, 경유, LPG를 연료로 사용하는 7대의 차량을 대상으로 국내·외에서 법적시험모드로 사용되고 있는 도심모드, 고속모드, 급가·감속, 에어컨사용 및 겨울철 특성을 반영한 저온모드에서 온실가스의 배출특성을 확인하고자 하였다. 사용연료에 관계없이 대부분의 온실가스는 저온인 Cold FTP-75 모드에서 가장 안 좋은 결과가 나타나는 경향을 가지고 있다. 각 차량별 온실가스 증가 요인으로는 가솔린 차량인 A차량(2.0 MPI)과 B차량(2.4 GDI)에서는 최고속 및 급가·감속 , 에어컨 사용 , 저온 조건의 순인데 비해 E차량(1.6 T-GDI)은 에어컨 사용, 최고속 및 급가·감속 , 저온 조건의 순이다. G차량 (LPLi)은 에어컨 사용 , 저온 , 최고속 및 급가·감속 조건의 순으로 가솔린 차량과 다른 특성을 가지고 있다. 경유 차량에 있어서는 A차량(2.0 w/o DPF)과 B차량(2.2 w/ DPF)은 최고속 및 급가·감속 , 에어컨 사용, 저온 조건의 순이었고, F차량(1.6 w/ DPF)은 저온, 에어컨 사용, 최고속 및 급가·감속 조건의 순으로 확인되었다. 따라서, 각 연료별로 배출가스 저감 기술을 다르게 적용하여야 효과적인 방법이라고 할 수 있겠다.

        PURPOSES : Road sectors contribute approximately 16 % of total GHG emission rates in South Korea. Engineers and experts expend significant efforts to identify countermeasures for the reduction of carbon emission. This study aims to determine how total carbon emission rates change depending on whether or not there is speed limit enforcement.METHODS: In this study, Lamm’s travel speed profile theory is first adopted to select the hazard road, which sections are designated as speed limit enforcement. Second, Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES) was used to simulate the carbon emission on the road.RESULTS : The total carbon emission rate under speed limit enforcement was 10,773 g higher than the condition without speed limit enforcement in the designated road. This might affect acceleration, which can lead to increased emissions.CONCLUSIONS : There would be no researches about proving the relationship how speed limit enforcement has an effect on carbon emission. The result of our study can provide valuable guidelines regarding road safety and eco-friendly roads.

        Climate change is the biggest environmental issue of our times. A variety of activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have been in progress to observe the Kyoto Protocol. Especially, the Energy Target Scheme is created to reduce greenhouse emission with the supervision of Korean government. This includes Green-house Gas Information Systems to promote activities in the private sector to reduce green-house gas emissions, to cut a cost of energy use, and to reduce GHG emissions. Also, the system has calculated the amount of greenhouse gases. Without any additional investment, 2.75% savings are increased over the previous year. In service sector, a cooperation of customers and employees is necessary. A reduction of GHG emissions requires a proper service organization, considering an amount of investment and payback period. Without any additional investment or replacement, employees can save energy easily turning off ventilation systems an hour before employees’ departure, installing timers to turn off water purifiers and vending machines after some period of no use. The Green-house Gas Information System is similar to that of Environmental Management System. However, the Excel is the best program to calculate an amount of green-house gas emissions, and to assess for a reduced amount of GHG emissions. A goal of this research is to propose a practical method in the private sector to calculate an amount of green-house gases. The Green-house gas Information System based on Excel spreadsheet gives standards for good evaluation. The greenhouse gas information system establishes and executes the policies and objectives related to greenhouse gas emissions Similar to ISO 14001 environment management system structures, the advantages of using simplified Excel Sheet for calculating GHG emissions and reducing GHG emissions are easy to access.

        Climate change has been identified as one with the greatest challenges facing nations, government, business and over future decades. Activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the Kyoto Protocol, the international community has been in progress. Korea also has introduced the Emission trading system to reduce greenhouse emission from the supervision of the government. Greenhouse gases emissions quantity should be internationally recognized. Mutual Recognition Arrangement should be recognized as the same greenhouse gas emission. International recognition of domestic verification body of international mutual recognition is required. Efforts are needed to secure the equivalence between the emission rights through direct cooperation with the relative nation accreditation body. Early entry into the IAF/PAC GHG MLA is essential for demonstrating equivalence between greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions trading will also require connection to the EU ETS, California, USA, and Tokyo, Japan to link Emissions trading. In the case of establishing accreditation standards and accreditation criteria, it will be necessary to distinguish between the domestic Energy Target Management System and the Emission Trading System. Independent greenhouse gases verification bodies should be established to meet the requirements of IAF and PAC. It is necessary to revise the qualification criteria for the verification of the greenhouse gas verification body according to international standards requirements. It is necessary to support the role of accreditation bodies of domestic greenhouse gas verification bodies. It is required to join international organizations of international mutual recognition of international trade and the need for pilot projects to link greenhouse gas emissions. The core link to our emission trading system is called EU-ETS, and we will need to join the IAF/PAC GHG MLA GHG. The International Mutual Recognition Agreement (IAF) is expected to allow international interoperability of GHG emissions verification between EA and the PAC. By signing a PAC GHG MLA, it will need to be prepared to prepare for the pilot project to link the emission trading system.

        The concern on the greenhouse gas emissions is increasing globally. Especially, the greenhouse gas emission from fisheries is an important issue due to Cancun Agreements Mexico in 1992 and the Kyoto protocol in 2005. Furthermore, the Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 5.2% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries has not been executed much. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from Korean fishery industry is needed as the first step to find a relevant way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries. The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted from the major coastal fisheries such as coastal gillnet fishery, coastal dual purpose fishery, coastal pots fishery and coastal small scale stow net fishery. Here, we calculated the GHG emission from the fisheries using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for the unit weight of fishes are also calculated with consideration to the different consuming areas. The results will be helpful to understand the circumstances of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries.

        기후변화협약에 따라 전 세계적으로 온실가스 배출을 지구온난화의 주된 원인으로 지목하고 국제적 협력을 통해 저감 방안을 모색하고 있으며 국내에서도 건설 산업분야를 포함한 7개의 각 산업분야에서 온실가스 배출량을 줄이기 위한 방안으로 다양한 제도와 정책을 시행중에 있다. 제21차 유엔기후변화협약 당사국 총회(2015년 파리)에서 한국은 2030년까지 온실가스 감 축 노력을 전혀 하지 않았을 때 예상되는 배출량(BAU) 대비 37%를 줄이겠다는 쉽지 않은 목표를 제시하였다. 이에 건축물 분야에서도 2030년까지 BAU 26.9%의 온실가스를 감축하기 위하여 제도적으 로 녹색건축물 인증제도(G-SEED)를 운영하고 있다. 그러나 녹색건축물 인증제도(G-SEED) 는 정부의 제정 취지와 달리 전생애주기별 평가가 아닌 용도별 평가만 가능하고 또한 건축 물의 생애주기 동안 CO₂의 배출량에 대한 정량적 평가도 할 수 없는 특징을 가지고 있다. 따라서 국내 녹색건축물 인증제도는 세계 기후변화협약에 따른 기후변화에 대응하여 건물 부문에서 저감 목표인 온실가스의 배출량 달성과 상호 연계된 평가 도구라 할 수 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현행 녹색건축물 인증제도(G-SEED)가 온실가스의 배출량을 정량적으 로 평가 반영하고 건물의 거주성과 탄소경제성을 동시에 고려하여 실질적으로 기후변화 대 응 법률의 기본적 취지를 달성할 수 있도록 녹색건축물지수 개념의 녹색건축물 인증제도의 개선을 제안하였다.

        유럽연합(EU)은 온실가스배출 감축을 위해 가장 적극적인 정책을 추 진하고 있다. 해운에서 배출되는 이산화탄소 및 기타 배출가스의 결과, 해운은 지구기후 및 대기에 영향을 미친다. 유럽위원회는 2013년 6월 28일에 해운부문 온실가스배출규제 법안 을 채택하고, 동 법안을 유럽 의회 및 유럽연합각료이사회에 제안하였다. 유럽위원회는 동 입법안에 대한 면밀한 입법영향평가를 실시하여 부작용을 최소화하였다. 2015년 4월 29일 유럽의회 및 유럽연합각료이사회는 위 법안을 「해 상운송으로부터 발생하는 이산화탄소의 감시, 보고 및 검수, 그리고 2009/16/EC 지침 개정에 관한 규칙( 해운부문 온실가스배출규제 규 칙 )」으로 의결하였다. 해운부문 온실가스배출규제 규칙은 2015년 7월 1일부터 시행되고 있다. 해운부문 온실가스배출규제 규칙의 궁극적인 목 적은 가장 효율적인 방법으로 해운부문에서의 탄소배출 감축을 촉진하는 것이다. 이 규칙은 유럽연합 회원국 역내항구간의 항해 및 유럽연합 회원국 역내항구로 입출항하는 5천톤급 초과의 상선에 적용된다. 검수기관은 탄 소배출보고서가 해운부문 온실가스배출규제 규칙에서 규정한 요건을 충 족하고 있는지 평가하며, 탄소배출보고서가 해운부문 온실가스배출규제 규칙을 충족하는 경우 검수기관은 해당 선박에 대한 합격서를 발급한다. 유럽연합 회원국의 역내의 항구로 입출항하는 선박들은 검수기관이 발행 한 유효한 합격서를 지녀야 한다. 이 규칙은 유럽연합의 회원국을 입출 항하는 선박에 적용되므로 해운사 및 해운부문 관계자들은 동 규칙을 이 해할 필요가 있다.

        There are only 10 projects of the domestic greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions trading scheme in building sector (i.e., 1.5% of 652 registered projects) because the certified methodologies to reduce GHG emissions can not be applied to building sector. This study presents remodeling techniques to reduce GHG emissions in existing buildings. First of all, preconditions and related regulations were reviewed. And then, a pool of factors for GHG reduction are selected and evaluated with respect to factors for reducing energy consumption. This study also investigates the criteria and the decision making process for remodeling techniques to reduce GHG emissions. Finally, the remodeling techniques using the decision making process were grouped based on redundancy of each effect. If reducing methodologies for GHG offset program can be developed using the analyzed remodeling techniques in this study, registered projects in building sector would be increase.

        PURPOSES : This study aimed to offer a greenhouse gases table to assist a road designer in calculating the greenhouse gases for a road environment when making a decision about an alternative road. METHODS: This study developed an operation mode table of greenhouse gases using the MOVES program. Similar factors for Korean vehicles and fuels are reflected in the MOVES program, which was made in the USA. Finally, a paired t-test was conducted to calculate the site data and MOVES data. Through these studies, a methodology was suggested for calculating carbon emissions based on various types of roads alignments. RESULTS : The site results for a passenger truck on the road were statistically significant when the vehicle speed was above 65 km/h. However, a future study will consider factors for various road alignments and vehicles. CONCLUSIONS : This study will contribute to the theoretical basis for reducing carbon emissions from roads by helping road designers make decisions about road alternatives in terms of the road environment.

        This study aims to estimate the Green-House-Gas emissions from domestic farmed flounder in the southern sea and Jeju-Do, where is mainly produced, by the assessment of energy consumptions and GHG emissions from domestic fish farms for establishing reduce standards of greenhouse gas from a sustainable perspective. It needs to analyze such GHG emission components as feed, electricity, fuel, fixed capital, fish respiration, and liquid oxygen in two locations by 4 stage running water type farm size of small, small and medium, large and medium, large scale. The result showed that the mean GHG emissions were 36.83 kg·CO2/year in the southern sea and 24.33 kg·CO2/year in Jeju-Do, respectively, in the stage of production per fish 1kg at 2 locations and farm size from domestic farmed flounders, and it will give to be useful for policy, planning, and regulation of aquaculture development with establishing GHG reduction standards.

        이 논문에서는 CGE모형을 통해 온실가스 감축정책이 제주지역 농업 및 총생산에 미치는 영향을 계측 하였다. 분석결과 탄소세를 부과할 경우에는 전라권의 GRDP가 2.522% 감소하는 것으로 나타났고, 제 주권은 0.272% 감소하는 것으로 분석되었다. 배출권거래제의 경우 제주권의 GRDP 감소효과는 0.01% 로 나타났다. 산업부문별 산출효과를 분석하면 전력이 1.411% 감소하고, 화학제품 1.370% 감소하여 그 업종의 산출액이 각각 18억원과 9억원 정도 줄어드는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 에너지다소비산업인 건 설, 운수·보관업, 일반기계, 금속제품 등의 산출이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 배출권거래제를 도 입할 경우 탄소세 부과보다 산출 감소가 크게 줄어드는 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 배출권거래를 통해 온 실가스 규제의 영향을 최소화할 수 있기 때문인 것으로 파악된다.

        지구온난화 문제 해결을 위한 지속적인 노력과 더불어 온실가스의 국제적 배출 규제는 더욱 강화되고 있다. Non-CO2 사업단은 온실가스의 종류와 발생원에 따른 적합 기술을 선택적으로 개발함으로써 기술별 균형을 추구하고 발생원에 대한 대응방안을 모색하고 있다. 주로 화학, 전자, 자동차, 선박과 같은 수출주력산업에서 발생하므로 향후 무역규제와 연계될 경우 그 파급효과가 클 것으로 예상된다. 선택적, 집중 투자와 효율적인 관리를 통하여 우리나라 온실가스저감 목표 달성에 일조하고 수출주력산업에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다. 본 연구는 Non-CO2 사업단개발기술, 특히 멤브레인 관련기술에 관한 토의이다. ※ 환경부 글로벌탑 환경기술개발사업 중 “Non-CO2 온실가스 저감기술개발 사업”의 지원으로 수행되었다.

        국제해사기구는 선박기인 CO₂ 저감을 위해 SEEMP를 시행 하였다. 본 논문에서는 국제해사기구가 권고한 SEEMP 시행 방안과 세 해운선사의 SEEMP 적용 사례를 동일 기준으로 비교·분석 하였다. 이를 통해 적용상의 문제점을 파악하여 해운선사들이 SEEMP를 더욱 효율적으로 적용하기 위한 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 개선방안으로는 Company EEOI의 오류 수정, EEOI 데이터 획득 기간 통일, 에너지 효율 운항을 위한 조치사항 준수, 다양한 연료에 대한 CO₂ 환산 계수 제시, 국제해사기구의 공식적 기준을 통한 EEOI 목표값 설정이 있다.

        The negative factors of fishery in environmental aspect of view are Greenhouse gas emission problems by high usage of fossil fuel, destruction of underwater ecosystem by bottom trawls, reduction of resources by fishing and damage of ecosystem diversity. Especially, the Greenhouse gas emission from fisheries is an important issue due to Cancún meeting, Mexico in 1992 and Kyoto protocol in 2005. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries did not much carry out. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for the edible weight of fishes are calculated with consideration to the different consuming areas and slaughtering process also. The results will be helpful to understand the circumstances of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries.

        This paper presents PKES(PuKyung -Excel based Simulator) for WWTPs(wastewater treatment plants) by using MS Excel and VBA(Visual Basic for Application). PKES is a user-friendly simulator for the design and optimization of the whole plant including biological and physico-chemical processes for the wastewater and sludge treatment. PKES calculates the performance under steady or dynamic state and allows changing the mathematical model by the user. Mathematical model implemented in PKES is a improved integration model based on ASM2d and ADM1 for simulation of AS(activated sludge) and AD(anaerobic digestion). Gaseous components of N2, N2O, CO2 and CH4 are added for estimation of GHGs(greenhouse gases) emission.The simulation results for comparison between PKES and Aquasim(EAWAG) showed about the same effluent concentrations. As a result of verification using by measured data of BOD, TSS, TN and TP for 2 years of operation, calculated effluent concentrations were similar to measured effluent concentrations. The values of average RMSE(root mean square error) were 1.9, 0.8, 1.6 and 0.2 mg/L for BOD, TSS, TN and TP, respectively. Total GHGs emission of WWTP calculated by PKES was 138.5 ton-CO2/day and GHGs emissions of N2O, CO2 and CH4 were calculated at 21.7, 28.9 and 87.9 ton-CO2/day, respectively. GHGs emission of activated sludge was 32.5 % and that of anaerobic digestion was 67.5 %.
