        In this digital era, native advertising (Laursen, 2017) has begun to dominate advertising revenues due to its effectiveness in captivating attention of online users. Digital native advertising are advertisements in the form and function of editorial content such that its commercial intent is obscured to the reader (Wojdynski & Evans, 2015). Given its “non-intrusive” characteristics, platforms publishing advertisements of this nature can effectively circumvent ad-blockers that inhibits brands from reaching target audience (Vranica, 2015). Nevertheless, some have construed this as a deception towards digital users which could be detrimental to their attitude towards the brands conveyed via such advertising method (Wojdynski, Evans, & Hoy, 2017). Despite such existing controversy, there is still lack of evidence investigating whether digital native advertising would trigger positive or negative attitudes towards brands (Harms et al., 2017). On this premise, the goal of this study is to comprehend how native advertising would affect brand attitude. Correspondingly as well, this study will also investigate in what way the factors associated to native advertising that would influence brand attitude.

        Marketers and retailers are increasingly interested in grabbing the opportunity to reach the consumer at the right time and place with a smart phone. Depending on Location Based Advertising (LBA) and associated sensors with the IBeacon technology, marketers can determined the consumer’s favorite products through his search history and previous purchase activities furthermore his location in-store. So, marketers and retailers pay more attention to in-store mobile LBA. In this work, the modified LBA in-store framework are constructed. This model proposed that the temporal time, type of information and the variety of receiver of mobile in-store LBA affect the Purchase intention in retail stores.

        When considering donation, donors may evaluate causes of need and deservedness of recipients (Bekers & Wiepking, 2011). The plight of recipients may be attributed to their misbehaviors (e.g., laziness) or social problems (e.g., poor welfare), which in turn influences donation decisions. To maximize persuasiveness of donation appeals, therefore, marketers of charity events should decide how to describe donation recipients. How potential donors perceive recipient responsibility also interacts with donor characteristics (Lee, Winterich, & Ross, 2014). We investigate how causes of need interact with donors’ cultural background to determine reactions to donation appeals. Drawing upon research on the cultural differences in thinking styles and causal attributions (Fiske, Kitayama, Markus, & Nisbett, 1998), we propose that donation appeals are better accepted when there is a correspondence between donors’ cultural background and causes of need than when such correspondence lacks. We find that Westerners and Easterners show distinctive reactions to charity appeals that present different causes of need. Specifically, we demonstrate that Westerners are more attracted to appeals with external causes, whereas Easterners are relatively unconcerned about causes of need. We also offer insight into the process via empathy and outcome efficacy through which cause of need and culture collaboratively affect persuasiveness of charity appeals. Empathy drives the effect for both Westerners and Easters; outcome efficacy drives the effect for Westerners only.

        The humor appeal is extensively used in advertising, but its impact is not clearly understood in the context of luxury brand advertising. This research therefore examines the role humor appeal in luxury advertising plays in customers’ evaluation of the brand, advertisement, and purchase behaviors toward the firm. Specifically, this study proposes that the use of a humor appeal in luxury advertising has a favorable influence on perceived luxuriousness of the brand, attitude toward the advertisement, and purchase intention through coolness perception of the luxury brand. Furthermore, this study explores the moderating roles of brand positioning appeal (top-dog vs. underdog) and desire for distinction. This study is one of the few to examine the influence of humor appeal in luxury brand advertising, providing evidence for the applicability of humor appeal in luxury advertising. The study findings will help luxury brand managers make informed decisions about when and how to use humor in advertising to achieve desirable advertising outcomes.

        Online search advertising (aka, sponsored or paid search advertising) is a technology that any matched advertisement is displayed on Web pages as online users’ query results from search engines and Web portals (e.g., Google, Bing, Baidu, Naver, and Yahoo!). In specific, after online users type search keywords on the search box (at this stage, online users become searchers), search engines match users’ query texts to phrases included in search advertisement. Then, if an advertiser’s investment on her/his search advertisement is high enough, the advertisement is likely to be displayed on a search engine results (called “impression”) (Hanson and Kalyanam 2007; Jansen et al. 2009; Jansen and Clark 2017; Moore, Stammerjohan, and Coulter 2005). Once a searcher clicks a displayed advertisement and arrives on the advertiser’s landing page, s/he becomes a visitor by clicking the impression. As benefits of utilizing search keywords, online search advertising can reduce search costs and increase information accessibility by potential customers. In addition, because online search advertising provides relevant search results based on the users’ own queries, it is considered less intrusive than banner advertisement and widely used by many marketers (Ghose and Yang 2009; Johnson, Bruner, and Kumar 2006; Quinton and Khan 2009; Rangaswamy, Giles, and Seres 2009; Yang and Ghose 2010).

        Mobile channels have dramatically revolutionized how brands connect with consumers. Indeed, smartphones, tablets or any portable device present marketers the possibility to contact consumers at any time and any place. Notwithstanding the opportunities deriving from being constantly in touch with consumers, two major challenges are anyway represented by the need of avoiding consumers’ annoyance with too much information and by the one to differentiate from competitors’ messages. Hence, how to catch recipients’ attention is fundamental to develop effective mobile communication strategies. In this perspective, gamification could be a competitive hedge in current digital environments. Namely, gamification has been identified as the use of attractive and addictive characteristics of games in different context such as advertising messages. As of today, extant literature on the topic mostly focused on the analysis of different motivations to use gamified mobile channels (i.e. hedonic, utilitarian motivations) as well as the factors amplifying the effects of gamification on the persuasiveness of marketing messages (i.e. the design of the gamified mobile advertising). Accordingly, we argue that gamification could help to catch consumers’ attention and influence their engagement with the message and purchase intention. Previous studies, indeed, have not analyzed the factors -such as engagement- potentially mediating the relationship between consumers’ intention to use mobile channels and advertising effectiveness. Next, whether gamified advertising could influence consumers’ purchase intention has yet to be assessed. Moving from such two gaps, this research focuses on the importance of gamification in advertising research. In detail, this research develops and tests a model where consumers’ perceived gamification (measured thanks to the GAMEX scale) as well as consumers’ engagement mediate the relationship between consumer motivations to use a mobile channel, advertising effectiveness and consumers’ purchase intention. Consumers’ expertise in mobile technologies is considered as a moderating variable in the relationship. Structural equation modelling with a sample of 590 Italian millennials, the most technology savvy consumers cohort (thus, the one mostly using mobile channels), has been used to test the hypotheses of the study. Results of the analysis allowed to proposed several implications for advertising theory and practice.

        본 연구는 프로야구 소비자를 대상으로 프로야구 PPL광고속성이 브랜드인지, 브랜드태도 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 프로야구 구단과 모기업의 다양한 마케팅 활용 전략으로 활용될 수 있는 방안을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 프로야구 소비자 411명을 대상으로 실시되었다. 자료처리는 SPSS 25.0 Window Version을 활용하여 빈도분석(frequency analysis), 신뢰도 분석 (correlation analysis), 상관관계 분석(reliability analysis), 다중회귀분석(multiple regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 그리고 평균분산추출지수(AVE: Confirmatory Factor Analysis)와 개념신뢰도(CR: Construct Validity)를 산출하여 집중타당도(Convergent Validity) 및 판별타당도(Discriminant Validity)를 검증하였다. 또한, AMOS 25.0을 활용하여 확인적 요인분석(Confirmatory Factor Analysis: CFA)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, PPL광고속성의 하위요인인 오락성, 정보성, 불편성은 브랜드인지에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, PPL광고속성의의 하위요인인 오락성, 정보성, 불편성은 브랜드태도에 유의한 영향 을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, PPL광고속성의의 하위요인인 오락성, 정보성, 불편성은 행동의도에 유의 한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 브랜드인지, 브랜드태도는 행동의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

        This study examines the characteristics of Virtual Advertisements, particularly with respect to the formal and content characteristics of Virtual Advertisements. Among the expressions of language, the discussion was particularly centered on linguistic solidarity. Text cohesion can be explored in terms of cohesion, which means content and semantic association of text, and condensation that refers to grammatical association of text layers. There were two ways to maintain the verbal bonds of virtual advertising: morphological and syntactic method. Morphological methods can be largely divided into two ways: to maintain the consistency of text by repeating the same word, or to maintain the consistency of text by using vocabulary in the same category. The syntactic method was studied, focused on the syntactic condensation that appears in the language expressions of the front and rear scenes of virtual advertising. Specific methods of syntactic condensation devices can be divided into five types: distich, sentence connection, sentence response, omission and rhetorical connection.

        SNS 사용자가 급속히 증가함에 따라 기업 전체 마케팅 활동에서 SNS 마케팅이 차지하는 비중이 높아지고 있으며 SNS 광고도 새로운 마케팅 도구로 급성장하게 되었다. SNS 광고에 관한 선행 연구가 많이 진행해왔지만 SNS의 다양한 광고 형태 중 새롭게 각광받고 있는 인피드 광고에 대해 연구가 아직 부족한 현황이다. 따라서 본 논문은 중국 SNS 사용자들을 대상으로 인피드 광고의 가장 뚜렷한 3가지 특성(네이티브 콘텐츠 간의 형식의 일치성, 상호작용성과 개인맞춤성)이 인피드 광고 태도에 미치는 영향을 검증하였으며, SNS사용자들이 지각하는 프라이버시 우려 정도가 SNS 인피드 광고 태도에 미치는 조절적 영향을 검증하였다. 실증적 분석을 위해 SNS를 사용한 적이 있고 인피드 광고를 본 적이 있는 295명 중국 소비자에 대한 설문조사를 분석하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 인피드 광고의 3가지 특성이 광고 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 프라이버시 공개에 대한 우려는 일치성 및 상호작용성이 광고태도에 미치는 영향에 있어서 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았지만 개인맞춤성이 광고 태도에 미치는 영향에 있어서 부정적인 조절 효과를 보였다. 즉, 소비자가 개인 정보 유출에 대해 걱정할 때 개인맞춤성이 광고 태도에 미치는 긍정적인 효과를 약화시킬 수 있다. 이러한 실증적 연구는 인피드 광고 태도에 영향을 미치는 중요한 정보와 위험요소를 새로 발견하였으니 SNS 매체연구, SNS 광고연구, 그리고 국제마케팅연구의 학문적 발전에 기여할 수 있는 것으로 기대된다. 또한 중국 소비자들을 타깃으로 하는 중국기업과 중국에 진출하는 외국 기업들에게 효과적인 SNS 마케팅 전략과 SNS 광고전략을 수립하는 데에 실무적인 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
