        The Capstone Design class, operated in the Project Based Learning format, is a class in which three groups of learners produce assignments such as beginner-level Vietnamese conversation textbook manuscripts, lecture notes, and lecture videos by following the process of ‘assignment (first draft) - peer evaluation - reflection of peer evaluation opinions - revised manuscript - reflection journal.’ In this study, we analyzed the presentations of the first and second groups’ drafts, peer evaluations by fellow groups, revised manuscripts that accepted peer opinions, and reflection journals written by all students during the second and third weeks of the 15-week class. In particular, when comparing the draft and the revised task reflecting peer evaluation, it can be seen that learners themselves recognize the importance of communication and collaboration capabilities that accept peer evaluation opinions along with enhancing the completeness of the task. In addition, through the analysis data of two consecutive weeks, it was recognized that not only the ability to accept peer-reviewed opinions but also to present peer-reviewed opinions is communication and collaboration capabilities, and a respectful and honest attitude is necessary for this.

        The purpose of this study is to examine learners’ perceptions of AI-based machine translation (MT) in high school ‘Reading British and American Literature’ classes. This research explored how students perceived the impact of MT on their class participation, learning motivation, confidence in English use, and improvement in English ability. The study also examined how the effectiveness of MT use differed according to students’ English proficiency levels. A total of 153 third-year students participated in a nine-week English literature course. Data were collected through an online survey and statistically analyzed. The findings reveal that students showed positive perceptions regarding class participation, learning motivation, confidence in English use, and improvement in English ability. Notably, participation in the English literature classes using AI-based MT was significantly higher than that in other English classes. Analysis by English proficiency levels showed no significant differences in class participation and affective factors (learning motivation and confidence). However, lower-proficiency learners perceived greater improvement in English proficiency compared to higher-proficiency learners. These results suggest that incorporating AI-based MT in English literature classes can create an inclusive learning environment that supports learners across different proficiency levels, particularly benefiting lower-proficiency students in terms of improvement in English ability.

        지능정보사회에 대응한 교육 환경의 변화가 예상됨에 따라 본 연구에서는 학습자가 AI 기반 학습플랫 폼을 어떻게 인식하고 있는지 학업정서와 학습동기적 측면에 대해 질적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위 해 AI 기반 학습플랫폼을 경험한 초등학생 및 중􌝆고등학생 7명을 연구참여자로 선정하였으며 그들이 경험 한 학업정서 및 학습동기에 대해 반구조화된 면담을 실시하였다. 면담 자료는 연구문제를 중심으로 자료 를 체계적으로 정리하여 기술하는 방법인 질적 내용분석(Qualitative content analysis: QCA)을 통해 분석 하였다. 그 결과 학업정서는 2개의 상위범주와 9개의 하위범주로 구성되었다. 구체적으로, 연구참여자들은 AI 기반 학습플랫폼을 사용하면서 긍정정서와 부정정서를 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 긍정정서로는 만족감, 성취감, 기대감, 즐거움, 안도감을 경험하였으며, 부정정서로는 답답함, 우울함, 좌절감, 불안함을 경험하였 다. 학습동기는 5개의 하위범주로 나뉘어졌고, AI 학습이 학습동기에 도움을 준 이유는 5개의 주제묶음으 로 구성되었다. 결과를 구체적으로 상술하면, AI 기반 학습플랫폼을 사용한 학습자들은 몰입, 자율성, 흥 미, 자기효능감, 자기조절성을 경험한 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 AI 학습을 경험한 학습자들은 AI 학습플랫 폼이 학습동기에 도움을 준 이유로 AI의 기능적 측면, AI 콘텐츠, 보상, 피드백, 게임 요소 등을 꼽았다. 이러한 결과를 기반으로 선행연구와 연계하여 논의하였다.

        본 연구에서는 동화 유아교육학과 대학생들을 대상으로 한 동화책 활용 독서토의 기반 생활지도 및 상담 수업이 예비유아교사에게 주는 의미를 탐색하고 그 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 서울시 소재 대학 유아교육과 학사학위 교직 과정으로 개설된 생활지도 및 상담 교과목을 수강하는 대학생 61명을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 동화책을 활용한 독서토의 생활지도와 상담 수업 과정에서 연구참여자들이 작성한 보고서를 통해 자료를 수집하고 근거이론(grounded theory) 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결 과, 독서 토의를 통한 생활지도와 상담은 예비 교사들에게 공감을 토대로 한 자연스러운 분위기를 형 성하고, 의사소통의 키워드와 주제를 제공하며, 긍정적인 변화로 안내하는 실천적 의지를 형성하는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 동화책을 활용한 독서 토의 활동이 예비 교사교육 현장의 정서적, 인지적, 실천적 영역에서 중요한 역할을 수행하며, 독서 토의 활동을 통한 교사교육은 예비교사의 교육적 역량 을 강화하고, 유아교육의 생활지도와 상담에 긍정적인 효과를 주었다.

        This study analyzed inductive and deductive instructional approaches for teaching grammar within a Presentation-Practice-Production grammar lesson. The participants of this study included 119 Korean university students enrolled in an English as a foreign language class, with approximately half receiving deductive instruction and the other half receiving inductive grammar instruction. The analysis involved comparing learning gains as well as student perceptions of the two approaches via Mann Whitney U tests. The results showed no statistical difference in terms of the immediate or delayed learning gains for each grammatical topic, nor when all grammatical topics were aggregated. However, the analysis of student perceptions indicated that students found inductive instruction to be moderately more effective, interesting, and easier than deductive instruction. The study concludes with a discussion of the implications of these findings related to instructional practices in foreign language classes that utilize the Presentation- Practice-Production model as well as suggestions for future research concerning deductive and inductive instructional approaches.

        Intermediate Chinese Conversation is an elective course offered by the Department of Chinese Studies for second- and third-year students at our university. It aims to help students learn basic sentence structures and grammar, familiarize them with intermediate-level Chinese conversational expressions, and naturally engage in everyday Chinese conversations. Most class activities involve speaking, but there are difficulties, such as students being relatively passive in class and not actively presenting. Using class models presented in previous literature, the present study develops a problem design, teaching-learning activity design, process evaluation, and outcome evaluation for Intermediate Chinese Conversation. By applying this design in class, this study identifies the differences between the traditional lecture-centered method used before and the new teaching method used after four weeks. It shows that the latter method — PBL helps students learn Chinese conversation more effectively. In conclusion, this study effectively tackles two issues: First, it encourages students to adopt an active learning attitude. Students who were previously not interested in Chinese conversation classes and were left out began to take interest in the class using the PBL method. Second, it helped enhance students’ problem-solving ability. Through group activities, students collaborated with each other, reaffirmed the value of working together, and sufficiently solved the problems given to them.

        이 연구의 목적은 일본 대학 한국어 교수자의 코로나 전·중·후 수업 경험을 비교함으로써 코로나 팬데 믹이 한국어 수업에 어떤 영향을 주었으며 한국어 교수자들이 어떤 능력을 갖추게 되었는지를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 2023년 5월부터 7월까지 일본 대학의 한국어 교·강사 16명을 대상으로 ‘반구조화된 인터뷰’를 실시했다. 비대면 수업 시기에 다수의 일본 대학은 화상회의 프로그램을 활용하여 실시간 강의를 제공하거나 강의 동영상을 올려서 수업을 한 것으로 확인되었다. 일본의 한국어 교수자들은 일차적으로 학교의 정책과 방침에 따라 비대면 수업을 운영하되, 학교의 시스템과 학습자의 학습 환경 등을 고려하여 수업 방식을 결정했다. 구체적으로는 실물 화이트보드를 카메라로 찍어 보여주거나, 파워포 인트(PPT) 자료를 화면 공유로 제시하거나, 태블릿과 전자펜을 사용하는 등 다양한 시도를 한 것을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 학생 학습 지원을 위해서 과제를 더 많이 활용하고, 퀴즐렛 등을 수업에 도입하기도 했으며, 영상 자료를 수업 전이나 후에 제공하는 노력을 했다. 이런 노력은 재일 한국어 교수자의 매체 활용 역량을 향상 시킨 것으로 보인다. 이는 교육 발전에 중요한 동량이 될 것이므로 앞으로 이를 유지·발 전·조정하기 위한 방안을 모색할 필요가 있겠다.

        이 연구의 목적은 사립대학 교양체육수업을 수강한 대학생의 회복탄력성이 대학생활만족도와 그릿에 미치는 영향을 구조적으로 분석하는 것이다. 이 연구를 위해 교양체육 수업을 수강한 비체육전공 대학생 283명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하 였다. 이 연구의 자료처리를 위해 설문지의 응답 내용을 자료화하였고, 통계프로그램 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 21.0을 활용하여 분석하였다. SPSS 23.0에서는 빈도분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 또한 AMOS 21.0을 활용하여 연구모형의 통계적 적합도를 파악하기 위해 확인적 요인분석과 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였으며, 이 과정에서 도출된 CFI, Tucker-lewis(TLI), RMSEA 등의 값을 검토하였다. 첫째, 모형 1은 교양스포츠를 수강한 대학생의 회복탄력성이 대학생활만족도에 미치는 영향과 대학생활만 족도가 그릿의 흥미지속성에 미치는 영향에서 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 나타냈다. 둘째, 모형 2는 교양스포츠를 수강한 대학생의 회복탄력성이 대학생활만족도와 대학생활만족도가 그릿의 노력에 미치는 영향에서 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 나타냈다. 결론적으로 교양스포츠를 수강한 대학생의 회복탄력성이 대학생활만족도에 미치는 영향과 대학생활만족도 가 그릿의 지속적인 관심과 노력에 미치는 영향에서 통계적으로 유의한 결과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

        This study analyzes students’ use of ChatGPT prompts to explore its potential as a supplementary feedback tool in English writing classes. Thirty-one pre-service teachers participated and were divided into high, middle, and low groups based on their self-evaluation, standardized test scores, and essay scores prior to receiving ChatGPT feedback. The data sources included their two essays, ChatGPT prompts, questionnaires, and transcripts from the second writing conference. The ChatGPT prompts and questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and the writing conference transcripts were examined to understand the participants’ use of prompts. The results showed participants used prompts 40 times in the first assignment and 175 times in the second assignment. The average prompt usage increased from 1.5 times in the first assignment to 6.7 times in the second assignment. In terms of students’ levels, the high group used more prompts (5.58 times) than the middle (5 times) and the low groups (1.75 times). Notably, students who used ChatGPT commands five times or more were mostly from the high and middle groups. Differences in prompt usage patterns were also identified, with the high and middle groups engaging in more continuous and interactive conversations with ChatGPT. Students expressed satisfaction with ChatGPT’s feedback, particularly in vocabulary selection, grammar correction, and sentence generation.

        This study investigated student engagement by conceptualizing learning engagement and examining the inner mechanism that operates in the university English learning context. This study administered a questionnaire to 376 college students, and data analysis was conducted with SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 24.0. The findings revealed that student engagement can be conceptualized into behavioral, cognitive, affective, and interactive engagement. The results confirmed that cognitive engagement positively affected behavioral engagement, whereas affective engagement did not. Affective engagement had positive effects on both cognitive engagement and interactive engagement. Interactive engagement positively affected cognitive engagement but did not affect behavioral engagement. Further, the results showed that cognitive engagement acted as a full mediator between affective engagement and behavioral engagement, as well as between interactional engagement and behavioral engagement. The findings of this study propose implications for optimizing English teaching to facilitate student engagement and ultimately enhancing their learning satisfaction along with improving academic outcomes.

        본 연구에서는 PBL학습법과 Tandem학습법을 적용한 PBL 문화 Tandem수업을 설계하여 운영하고 그 효과와 문제점을 살펴보았다. Tandem 학습법은 글로벌 협업 능력을 증진시킬 수 있는 학습모형이고, PBL 학습법은 문제해결 능력 및 사회적응 역량을 증진시킬 수 있는 학습법이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 PBL 한중 문화 Tandem 수업을 총 3 차례 운영하면서 매 수업 모형에서의 문제점을 개선하고 발전시켰으며, 이를 통해 효과적인 학습이 가능한 수업 모형을 설계하고자 하였다. 운영결과 본 수 업모형에서는 서로 다른 문화를 가진 학생들이 협력하여 과제를 수행해야하기 때문 에 학생들 간에 우호적인 관계를 형성할 수 있도록 하는 것이 가장 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 우호적인 관계가 형성된 후 무임승차가 상대적으로 적어졌고, 수행 역량이 부족한 팀원에 대해서도 배려하는 모습을 보임으로써 갈등 상황이 줄어드는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다.

        Conventional flipped learning instructional models are operated in a blended learning environment online and offline. In contrast, this study moved onto fully online systems and explored how a sense of presence worked for students’ learning outcomes at university English writing courses. The two research questions for this study are: 1) What is the relationship between a sense of presence (teaching, cognitive, social presence) and learning outcomes (group cohesion, class satisfaction)? and 2) What are the variables among a sense of presence that affect group cohesion and class satisfaction? For the purposes of this study, 46 university students from English composition courses answered student questionnaires in the spring of 2021. Correlation and multiple-regression analyses were conducted to look into the relationships among the variables. Additionally, focus-group interviews were conducted and teaching journals were analyzed. The major findings were revealed as follows: Firstly, a sense of presence was significantly related to group cohesion and satisfaction. Secondly, social presence and cognitive presence only had a predictive power of group cohesion. Thirdly, cognitive presence and teaching presence were significant predictors of class satisfaction. Pedagogical implications are discussed for those interested in applying flipped learning in a fully online setting.

        본 연구는 뷰티산업 현장 실무 전문가를 양성하기 위한 피부미용 이론 및 실기 수업을 통해 문 제중심학습(PBL) 수업 개발 및 적용하고자 한다. 학습자들에게 피부미용 현장에서 일어나는 실제적인 문제 를 제시하고, 그 문제를 해결하기 위해 학습자들 상호간에 공동으로 문제를 해결하는 방안을 강구하고자 한다. 학습자들에게 문제중심학습(PBL)을 적용한 피부미용 수업을 진행하고, 수강 후 그 효과에 대해 분석 한다. 본 연구 결과로 현장 실제의 문제를 제시함으로써 학습자들이 실제 전문가들이 하는 일을 이해할 수 있었고, 주어진 문제에 대한 다양한 해결방법을 도출할 수 있다는 부분을 알게 되었다고 하여 문제해결 능 력 신장을 기대 해 볼 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 문제 탐구와 문제를 해결하기 위한 문제중심학습(PBL) 수업 과정은 학습자의 문제해결능력 향상에 긍정적으로 작용하고 있음을 시사하고 있다.

        Background: After the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, many changes in education were observed, particularly non-face-to-face classes. Many studies have focused on the suitability of non-face-to-face classes and the satisfaction of both students and teachers with this teaching method. However, no study on the suitability of numerous teaching methods in teaching physical therapy subjects has been conducted. Objectives: To investigated the suitability of three teaching methods, namely, face-to-face, non-face-to-face, and mixed classes, in teaching physical therapy subjects. Design: Survey research. Methods: 336 students studying physical therapy participated. A survey was conducted on the suitability of face-to-face, non-face-to-face, and mixed classes for 16 subjects. The survey was conducted using a Google questionnaire. Results: Face-to-face classes were found to be suitable for teaching the basic fields of physical therapy, and face-to-face and mixed classes were suitable for teaching the principle of diagnostic evaluation. Furthermore, faceto- face classes were found to be suitable for teaching physical therapy interventions. In other subjects, face-to-face classes were suitable for teaching rehabilitation medicine, non-face-to-face classes were suitable for teaching medical terms, and mixed classes were suitable for teaching daily life activities. Conclusion: The results of this study can be used as a basis for choosing the appropriate methods for learning and teaching physical therapy subjects.

        빠르게 변화하는 시대 변화에 맞춰 미래 교육의 변화에 대한 필요성이 절실하게 요구되고 있다. 최근 이러한 교육의 패러다임 전환으로 메타버스에 대한 연구가 교 육계에서 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 메타버스 플랫폼인 게더타운을 활용 한 중국어-한국어 탄뎀 수업을 설계하고 적용시켜 대학의 중국어 교육에서의 메타버 스를 활용한 교육적 활용 방법과 효과를 증명하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 메타버스를 활용하여 중국어 학습자의 흥미도와 몰입감을 높이고 참여를 이끌 수 있는 다양한 수업 방안을 제시하여, 대학의 외국어 교육에서의 메타버스 활용 수업에 대한 도입 가능성을 살펴보고 교육적 활용의 기초적인 근거를 제공하고자 한다.

        Nearpod, an online teaching cloud-based platform, offers great potential to generate pedagogical tasks and yield better results in teaching communication skills. This study thus examined the effects of Nearpod-based English-speaking classes. To this end, one-on-one speaking tests were conducted twice in a semester, and a questionnaire was administered to assess university students’ perceptions of the usefulness of Nearpod in offline classroom. The participants comprised 39 university students who took a mandatory English class titled Communication in English. The paired samples t-test results indicated that the students’ overall speaking performance has improved over time. Specifically, compared to the high-level students, the low-level students showed a significant increase in speaking performance. The questionnaire analysis demonstrated that most students were satisfied with Nearpod-based English speaking classes because of enhanced interest, active participation in class, and increased interaction with class content and peers. The pedagogical implications are suggested and the limitations of the study are further discussed.

        Purpose: This study aimed to explore university students’ experiences of participating in online classes during the COVID-19 outbreak. Methods: A survey was conducted with 169 third- and fourth-year students at five universities in W City from May 5 to 22, 2021 through an online survey platform. Qualitative data were collected from 13 third- and fourth-year students at five universities in the same area through three focus group interviews between May 22 and 25 and analyzed through qualitative content analysis. Results: The experience of online classes was rated in the following order: live lectures (92.9%) and recorded lectures (73.4%). Satisfaction with online classes was rated for recorded lectures, which were scored 3.54±1.05 (out of five), and live lectures, which were scored 3.32±1.02. Lack of interaction with faculty (37.9%) and lack of participating practicum (30.8%) were cited as dissatisfaction factors in online classes. From the qualitative data, five sub-themes were identified: “not being respected in one’s learning”, “increased burden of learning in a situation of poor communication,” “it's not that I hate online classes”, “efforts to improve the loose will and attitude toward classes”, “reduced quality of experience and uncertain future”. These sub-themes were abstracted under the theme of “everyday life of learning alone toward an uncertain future”. Conclusion: To ensure more effective online learning, it is necessary to strengthen the interaction between faculty and students, apply online teaching strategies suitable for class objectives, and support various programs to motivate students for self-directed learning.

        As the amount of on-site Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) in storage increases due to the continued operation of Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) in Korea, the on-site wet storage pool is expected to become saturated. Therefore, a facility for safely storing the spent nuclear fuel is required so that there is no problem with operation of the NPP until permanent disposal of SNF. Prior to the construction of such a facility, the safety analysis of the interim storage facility and verification of the safety of the spent fuel storage system (e.g. cask, silo) to be used are required according to Article 63 of the Nuclear Safety Act. In this process, analysis of the Structures, Systems, and Components (SSCs) of the storage system is needed. Based on the analysis, it is necessary to efficiently classify SSCs that are important to safety in order to differentiate management that more thoroughly manages those important to safety. In Korea, according to the notice of the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, the components performing essential safety functions for the safe storage of spent fuel storage system are to be classified as “important safety equipment”. 10 CFR Part 72, a federal regulation related to interim storage facilities in the United States, also requires the identification of SSCs that fall under “Important to Safety (ITS)”, which is like domestic case. In addition, it has been confirmed that there are cases in which detailed classification according to Reg Guide 7.10 and NUREG-CR/6407 is added in Safety Analysis Report. However, these existing classification methods are not only classified as a single grade except for the method according to the Reg guide, but all are classified according to a qualitative standard. Qualitative criteria may cause ambiguity in judgment, resulting in subjective judgment of the person who proceeds in the classification process. Therefore, in this study, a new classification method is proposed to solve the problem according to the qualitative classification method. Assessing the level of radiological harm to the general public due to the assumption of failure of SSC in the spent fuel storage system is used as a quantitative evaluation standard.

        The purpose of this study is to analyze interactions between learners and the instructor (ILI) and interactions among the learners (IAL) themselves in a single university reading class with a focus on scaffolding. Thirty-three learners majoring in computer engineering and public administration participated in the class. Twenty-six out of 33 learners took a non-face-to-face online class (NFTFOC) for a 15-week semester, and the remaining seven learners chose to take a face-to-face class (FTFC) for the five weeks after the mid-term exam. Data from both the NFTFOC and FTFC were collected for 15 weeks from September to December 2021 including an automatic video recording system, quizzes, assignments, etc. through chatting boxes, bulletin boards, and emails. The obtained data were analyzed into both qualitative descriptions and quantitative statistical measures. The results showed that interactions in the low and mid-level of higher-order thinking from both the linguistic and cognitive perspectives occurred similarly, and both amplifying and simplifying of scaffolding functions in NFTFOC were more frequently observed than those in FTFC. In addition, both NFTFOC and FTFC got better scores on the post-test. As development occurs in language learning, a longitudinal and in-depth analysis of the language learning processes is required in future studies.
