This study investigated the method of continuous improvement of small-medium company production processes through POSCO's QSS(Quick Six Sigma) activities. QSS is a field operation technique that encompasses the advantages of Six Sigma, TPS(Toyota Production System), TQM (Total Quality Management), and IE(Industrial Engineering). Through this, POSCO not only encourages activities centered on related small and medium-sized partners, etc., but is also expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's own production process through QSS activities. In this study, rather than unconditionally carrying out activities according to the needs of large companies, the research is to help the continuous improvement of the actual production process of small and medium-sized enterprises by effectively applying and spreading QSS activities in consideration of the characteristics and environment of the company. For this purpose, empirical research is conducted on the process improvement activities and QSS activities of company Y, which has less than 100 assembly and production quality and inspection processes among SMEs. The changes in the production process improvement of SMEs through the application of the final QSS were investigated through empirical studies.
연구에서는 기술혁신 관점에서 창업기업 여부, 연구전담조직 보유, 국가연구개발사업 수혜 등의 특성이 한계기업의 정상기업 전환에 유의하게 기여하는지를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 한계기업 중 창업기업에게 국가연구개발사업을 지원하면, High-tech 산업을 중심으로 정상기업으로의 전환에 긍정적으로 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 한계기업의 연구전담조직의 보유여부가 정상기업으로의 전환에 긍정적으로 기여하였다. 이는 연구전담 조직이 체계적인 R&D를 수행할 수 있는 조직기반이 되고 있음을 시사한다. 상기 분석결과 는 한계기업에 대한 구조조정 위주의 기존 산업정책에서 정상기업으로의 전환 가능성이 높은 한계기업에 대한 선별적인 R&D 지원정책으로 패러다임 전환이 필요함과 동시에 한계기업의 정상기업으로의 전환을 지원하기 위한 국가연구개발사업의 전략성 강화가 필요함을 시사한다.
Up to date cosmetic OEM/ODM (original equipment manufacturing/original development manufacturing) industry receives attention as a future growth engine due to steady growth. However, because of limited research and development capability, many companies have employed commercial management platforms specialized for large-sized companies; thus, overall system effectiveness and efficiency is low. Especially, MRP (material requirement planning) system introduced originally in 1970s is employed to calculate the requirement of the parts. However, dynamic nature of production lead time usually results in incorrect requirements. In addition, its algorithm does not consider the capability of the production resources. Also, because the commercial MRP system calculates all subcomponent for fixed period, the more goods have subcomponent, the slower calculation is. Therefore, conventional MRP system cannot respond complicated situation in time. In this study, we will suggest a new method that can respond to complicated situations resulting from short lead time and urgent production order in Korean cosmetic market. In particular, a distributed MRP system is proposed, that consists of multi-functional and operational modules, based on the characteristic of the BOM (bill of material). The distributed MRP system divides components (i.e. products and parts) into several fields and decrease the problem size; thus, we can respond to dynamically changed data any time. Through this solution, we can order components quickly, adjust schedules and planned quantity, and manage stocks reasonably. In addition, a prototype of the distributed MRP system is presented in this paper, in which ERP (enterprise resource planning) sever data is associated with an excel spreadsheet via MSsql. System user interface is implemented by a VBA (visual basic for applications) tool. According to a case study, response rate for delivery and planning achievement rate were enhanced about 20%, and inventory turnover was also decreased. Consequently, the proposed system improves overall profit.
The purpose of this research isto make improve productivity through process improvement without expensive capital investment in a small scale mold manufacturer. The target company which is selling sand mold casting products employs many foreigners, and 50% of factory workers worked by the periphery of a specific manufacturing sector were difficult to communicate smoothly on site. Also, the company has the customized production method which production and delivery time are constant each month. However, the company's situation is getting harder since the order volume of existing suppliers has decreased and profit has reduced. So, we decided that the company needs new customers and overseas markets in the long run but to improve the process without facility investment in the short term is important task. We improved the process, created the standard of work for foreign workers, and improved the working environment by eliminating the on-site risk factors that the staff could not perceive. The results were as follows. The productivity has improved by 1.5 times. Training by work standards has shortened the OJT time of new workers and efficient working methods have become standard. Improvement of the work environment has improved the job satisfaction of workers and enabled long-term service of workers in the mold industry where labor shortage is serious.
To promote the efficiency of production process of small and medium sized company, government conducts production information business that collects and analyzes information of production field automatically and helps process' controlling and supervising by supporting costs of purchase, installment, etc. of hard-software and network related to middle and small sized company intending e-Manufacturing of production field with computer and information & communication network. As a result, the number of middle and small sized companies that introduce and manage production information system is increased. Therefore, the purposes of this research are to arrange contents of production information system introduced to solve current problems of middle and small sized companies and analyze effects of small and middle sized companies' introduction through example companies.
In manufacturing company, safety is a important issue because it can cause many cost and problems of company. So reduce safety accident can increase manufacturing company's productivity. Safety accident has close relationship with employee's behavior, which is 'safety behavior'. In this study, researcher try to find out role of leader-member exchange and employee's job commitment effect on safety behavior in manufacturing company. A total of 279 responses were collected from manufacturing company’s employees. The result of this empirical study show us that leader-member exchange has positive effect on employee's job commitment and safety behaviot. And job commitment has positive effect on safety behavior. Base on this empirical result, researcher provide critics and manageric implication for manufacturing companies.
국내 최대 인삼 재배지인 충남 금산군 소재의 인삼류(백삼, 홍삼) 제조업체 3곳을 대상으로 하여 수삼, 용수 등의 원부재료와 공정별 인삼류, 그리고 작업도구, 제조설비,작업장 환경 및 작업자 개인위생에 대해 미생물 오염도를 조사하였다. 먼저 원료수삼과 제조 공정별 인삼의 경우 일반세균은 1.8~4.9 log CFU/g, 대장균군은 1.2~3.0 log CFU/g, 곰팡이는 0.8~4.1 log CFU/g으로 검출되었고, 병원성 미생물은 일부 시료에서 B. cereus만 미미한 수준으로 검출되었다. 특히 일반세균의 경우는 공정을 거치면서 오염도가 감소되어 완제품인 백삼에서는 2.7 log CFU/g, 홍삼에서는 1.8 log CFU/g으로 검출되었고, 곰팡이의 경우 홍삼 제조과정 중 증숙 후에 오염도가 증가하였다가 이후 공정에서 다시 감소하는 것으로 확인되었다. 제조설비와 작업 도구에서는 일반세균 1.7~4.7 log CFU/100 cm², 대장균군0.4~4.0 log CFU/100 cm², 곰팡이 0.9~4.2 log CFU/100 cm² 의 수준으로 검출되었으며, 흙과 이물의 잔존할 가능성이 높은 세척기와 탈피기에서 비교적 높은 수치로 검출됨을 확인하였다. 작업자의 개인위생에서는 일반작업자가 실 묶음 작업자에 비해 미생물 오염도가 대체로 높은 것으로 확인되었고, 일부 작업자의 손에서는 S. aureus가 0.2~0.7 log CFU/hand 수준으로 검출되었다. 공중낙하균은 일반세균, 대장균군, 곰팡이만 미미한 수준으로 검출되었다. 따라서 인삼류 제품의 미생물 오염을 방지하기 위해서는 인삼류의 가열 또는 건조 시 적절한 온도와 시간의 준수, 제조시설의 청결 관리가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
This study was conducted to monitor and evaluate microbial contamination during manufacturing process in 6 red pepper powder factories. Red pepper powder samples were taken from manufacturing facilitates, working area and workers’ hands to determine sanitary indicator bacteria (SIB) such as aerobic bacteria and coliform group as well as pathogenic indicator bacteria (PIB) such as Staphylococcus aureus, E.coli, Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, and Bacillus cereus. The results indicated that SIB in primary materials was detected as low as 3 log units and E.coil and Staphylococcus aureus of PIB were detected. After grinding process, aerobic bacteria, fungi, and coliform group increased 52% and 108%, respectively. In final products, PIB was not detected except for one found Staphylococcus aureus by which workers’ hands were contaminated. Moreover, UV detectors in all the manufacturers were not able to reduce bacteria. Thus, this data suggest that a stringent safety management be needed to prevent cross contamination, and also reconsider effectiveness of facility.
This dissertation showcase study of production planning software development for Small and Medium sized Business (SMB). Currently, most of the domestic SMB’s production planning is being established by experienced manager’s intuition. Therefore, the production planning is usually managed by hand written data or established by impromptu process based on years of experience. Under such circumstances, production planning tends to be change frequently and, as a result, it is hard to meet On Time Delivery or to make Capable to Promise that customer asked for when they make order. This dissertation depicts the effectiveness of establishing specific production planning by applying software based on the project which had been implemented for an water tank manufacturing company, Z. The production planning by applying software which is presented in this research, enhanced work efficiency by making possible to share production information between marketing and production managing teams or within team members based on reliable planning. 본 논문은 다품종 제조 기업이 DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) 기법을 이용하여 각 제품별 효율성을 평가하고 이에 따라 기업의 제품 선택에 적용하기 위한 방법을 연구하였다. 특히 국내의 자동차 부품을 제조하는 중소기업이 DEA를 적용하여 각각의 생산 품목별로 효율성을 분석하도록 함으로써, 생산 제품을 선택하는 의사결정에 활용하여 한정된 제품 개발 역량과 기업의 경영 능력을 보다 더 효과적으로 특화시킬 수 있도록 하는 사례를 연구하였다.
본 논문은 공급 사슬 환경에서 중간 부품을 제조하여 기업을 대상으로 판매하는 중소 제조 기업의 가격 결정 전략에 대하여 연구하였다. 특히 국내에서 자동차 부품을 제조하는 중소 기업들이 고객사에게 중간 부품을 생산하여 납품하면, 고객사가 다시 이 부품을 활용하여 그 다음 단계의 부품을 생산하여 완성차 제조업체에 납품하는 공급 사슬 환경을 고려하였다. 중소 제조 기업이 생산한 부품의 완성차 탑재 여부는 완성차를 생산하는 대기업과 협상하고, 납품 가격은 해당 부품을 구매하는 고객사와의 협상에 의해 결정된다. 본 논문은 이와 같은 환경에서 중소 제조 기업이 최적의 가격 결정을 위하여 취할 수 있는 전략 수립을 연구하였다.
Unknowingly, the relationship between IT departments and their internal customers becomes that of client-supplier based on the mechanisms of marketing and competition. In addition, due to enhanced focus on the customer in the planning, development, and delivery of information service, IT service management(ITSM) has become increasingly important. These days IT management is focusing particularly on the 'de-facto' standard ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) for implementing ITSM. It is linked as a part of CobiT’s 'deliver and support' domain, which is a framework of IT governance, and ISO/IEC 20000 is a unique international certification standards on the ITSM. This paper proposes the strategy and procedure for ITSM implementation based on ITIL with consideration of IT governance structure for manufacturing industries. It also presents a case study to share the lessons learned and results of an ITSM project.
The goal of this study is to propose the effective method of investigating the injurious factors and making improved plans that prevents the workers against musculoskeletal disorders at an diesel engine manufacturing company and the same business field with similar working conditions and process. A questionnaire were adopted to analyze the symptoms of workers' musculoskeletal disorders, and an ergonomic assessment method such as RULA, OWAS were performed to find out harmful factors of workplace and working posture. Based on the result of the evaluation, to enhance the working environment, improvement of worktable, working space, tools, and outfit was suggested, and induction of mechanical system was also suggested. It can be concluded that the method and process described in this paper could be helpful for diagnosing the musculoskeletal disorders and making improvement plans to the diesel engine fuel injection system manufacturing company and the same business field with similar working conditions and process.

By using an survey and an ergonomic evaluation method, symptoms of muscle-skeletal diseases of workers and working postures at each process were analyzed, and quantitative evaluation of muscle-skeletal disease risk against each process was performed. Based on the result of the evaluation, to enhance the working environment, improvement of worktable, working space, tools, and outfit was suggested, and induction of mechanical system was also suggested. Suggested improvement plan was applied to the workplace step by step and it is confirmed that improvement plan not only removes the injurious factors of muscle-skeletal diseases but also is effective to enhance productivity.
Quality management has been recognized as an important means to secure business competitiveness for management environment changes and competitiveness reinforcement. An effort of an ISO 9001 certification has thought that it is the best way to practice quality management. This paper checks a quality management situation of manufacturing companies that acquired ISO 9001 certification. Then, this paper investigates whether quality management is actual1y contributing to production performance and proposes proper alternatives for an improvement of production performance.
