        CFD was used to study the change in the operation of the governor to check the effect of response delay due to residual air in the governor cylinder, which adjusts the pump RPM of the Turbine Driven Aux. Feed Water Pump(TD AFWP) in the Nuclear power plant. As a result of analysis, as the amount of internal air increased, the time delay also increased proportionally, and a time delay of up to 0.2 sec. occurred. As in the theory, it was confirmed that the cylinder operation delay occurred depending on the presence or absence of a compressive fluid such as air, but the time delay wat not enough to significantly affect the pump operation.

        Application of a very high internal pressure on the thick-walled pressure vessel induces beneficial compressive tangential residual stresses near the bore of the pressure vessel after unloading the internal pressure. However, a reverse yielding due to the Bauschinger effect during the unloading process causes the reduction of the compressive residual stress near the bore. In order to evaluate the autofrettage residual stress distributions of the thick-walled pressure vessel, the Bauschinger effects were considered. Magnitudes of the compressive residual stresses at the bore determined by considering the Bauschinger effects decreased by about 25 percent, compared to the case of linear elastic unloading, i.e., without Bauschinger effects. Measured residual stress distributions agreed fairly well with the calculated distributions considering the Bauschinger effects.

        Pretreatment system of desalination process using seawater reverse osmosis(SWRO) membrane is the most critical step in order to prevent membrane fouling. One of the methods is coagulation-UF membrane process. Coagulation-UF membrane systems have been shown to be very efficient in removing turbidity and non-soluble and colloidal organics contained in the source water for SWRO pretreatment. Ferric salt coagulants are commonly applied in coagulation-UF process for pretreatment of SWRO process. But aluminum salts have not been applied in coagulation-UF pretreatment of SWRO process due to the SWRO membrane fouling by residual aluminum. This study was carried out to see the effect of residual matal salt on SWRO membrane followed by coagulation-UF pretreatment process. Experimental results showed that increased residual aluminum salts by coagulation-UF pretreatment process by using alum lead to the decreased SWRO membrane salt rejection and flux. As the salt rejection and flux of SWRO membrane decreased, the concentration of silica and residual aluminum decreased. However, when adjusting coagulation pH for coagulation-UF pretreatment process, the residual aluminum salt concentration was decreased and SWRO membrane flux was increased.

        This study attempts to draw factors for an analysis of the operation effect of a rechlorination facility and autodrain equipment for residual chlorine equalization by installing and operating a rechlorination facility and autodrain equipment in P City and analyzing the practical evaluation method and operation effect. For this purpose, this study selected three indicators for an analysis of the effectiveness of residual chlorine equalization and conducted a comparative analysis before and after the implementation of the residual chlorine equalization. As a result of estimation, ① the reduction of the residual chlorine concentration range from a water treatment plant to the pipe end was 16.0%; ② the total reduction of chlorination input was 18.0%; and ③ the reduction of the generation of disinfection by-products was 19.5%. In addition, this achieved enough residual chlorine equalization in the supply process and shows that it could successfully achieve the economic feasibility of investment in equipment and the reduction of the generation of disinfection by-products. Like this, it is judged that the three indicators suggested in this study will be used sufficiently as indicators of an analysis of the effectiveness of residual chlorine equalization according to the operations of the rechlorination facility and autodrain equipment.

        PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the residual mortar of recycled concrete aggregate on the expansion behavior during alkali silica reaction (ASR). METHODS: In order to evaluate the net effect of residual mortar on ASR expansion behavior, two aggregate samples with the same original virgin aggregate source but different residual mortar volumes were used. ASTM C1260 test was used to evaluate the ASR expansion behavior of these two aggregates and the original virgin aggregate. RESULTS: The greater the amount of residual mortar in recycled concrete aggregates, the less is the induced ASR expansion. Depending on the amount of residual mortar in recycled concrete aggregate, the ASR expansion of recycled concrete aggregate may be less than half of that of the original virgin aggregate. CONCLUSIONS: The residual mortar of recycled concrete aggregate may lead to the under estimation of the ASR expansion behavior of the original virgin aggregate.

        This study was examined for activity of aggregation pheromone trap with residual effect of insecticides against Riptortus pedestris. Time of escape was from aggregation pheromone trap researched 49.74 min (ET99) and 65.01 min (ET99) with 1st and 2nd instar nymph respectively. Six insecticides for the stink bugs were treated to 3 different materials (wood, metal, and plastic). Bifenthrin and fenitrothion were showed 100% insecticidal activity at 48 h to all developmental stage of R. pedestris. Residual effect of bifenthrin and fenitrothion on plastic material were showed 100% insecticidal activity over 15 day after treatment with 1st, 3rd instar nymphs, and adults except 5th instars nymph. In field test using plastic material trap with two pesticides, 1st instar nymphs and adults were showed 100% mortality until 10 day after treatment. These results indicate that R. pedestris might be managed using aggregation pheromone trap with insecticides.

        This study was performed to investigate the change of probing and feeding behavior of Q type of B. tabaci according to the decrease of residual effect of two insecticide, emamectin and pyridaben, using EPG technique. Examined the residual activity during 20 days, pyridaben is showed longer than emamectin benzoate. When treated two insecticides onto tomato leaves with the recommended concentration through 20 days, EPG waveforms of Q type of B. tabaci was recorded during three hours compare with the characteristic patterns of feeding behavior between two insecticides such as duration of first probing time, total duration of non-probing phase, total duration of probing phase and total duration of phloem phase. Recorded result from the change in total duration of probing activity to react the two insecticides, pyridaben was showed higher the time of probing activity, however, total duration of phloem phase was appeared low activity. Total duration of phloem phase with passage of days did not show until seven days, however, and gradually increased in emamectin benzoate after 10 days. In conclusion, residual effect between two insecticides was showed more rapidly decreased in emamectin benzoate, however, feeding behavior of Q type of B. tabaci was increased.

        The characteristics of residual stresses occurring in PM steel based nickel (FLN2-4405) was investigated. The measurements of residual stresses were carried out by electrochemical layer removal technique. The values and distributions of residual stresses occurring in PM steel processed under various densities and heat treatment conditions were determined. In most of the experiments, tensile residual stresses were recorded in surface of samples. The residual stress distribution on the surface of the PM steels is affected by the heat treatment conditions and density. Maximum values of residual stresses on the surface were observed sinter hardened condition and density. Minimum level of recorded tensile residual stresses are150 MPa and its maximum level is 370 MPa.

        In this present investigation, Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) of M2 High Speed Steel (HSS) parts using a wax-High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) binder is shown. The elimination of organic binder was carried out by thermal debinding under inert atmosphere. In order to keep carbon in the sample that could improve the sintering process, incomplete debinding was performed between 450 and . The specimens were sintered at temperatures between 1210 and in high vacuum atmosphere, obtaining the 98% of the theoretical density. In the samples with higher residual carbon content, the sintering window was extended up to 20 degrees and the optimum temperature was lower.

        Organic binders are usually pre-mixed with ceramic powders to enhance the formability during the shape forming process. These binders, however, must be eliminated before sintering in order to avoid pore formation and unusual grain growth during sintering. The present work was performed to investigate the effects of residual binder on grain growth behavior during sintering of piezoelectric ceramics. The microstructures of sintered samples were examined for various thermal processes and atmosphere at debinding. Addition of binder seems to promote abnormal grain growth especially in incompletely debinded regions and to make the grain shape change from corner-rounded to faceted.

        The effects of residual impurities on solid state sintering of the powder injection molded (PIMed) W-15wt%Cu nanocomposite powder were investigated. The W-Cu nanocomposite powder was produced by the mech-ano-chemical process consisting of high energy ball-milling and hydrogen reduction of W blue powder-cuO mixture. Solid state sintering of the powder compacts was conducted at for 2~10 h in hydrogen atmosphere. The den-sification of PIM specimen was slightly larger than that of PM(conventional PM specimen), being due to fast coalescence of aggregate in the PIM. The only difference between PIM and PM specimens was the amount of residual impurities. The carbon as a strong reduction agent effectively reduced residual W oxide in the PIM specimen. The formed by reduction of oxide disintegrated W-Cu aggregates during removal process, on the contrary to this, micropore volume rapidly decreased due to coalescence of the disintegrated W-Cu aggregates during evolution of CO.It can be concluded that the higher densification was due to the earlier occurred Cu phase spreading that was induced by effective removal of residual oxides by carbon.

        Imidacloprid의 벼멸구에 대한 약효 지속효과와 벼체내 함유량과의 관계를 구명하기위해 imidacloprid 입제를 추천량 (0.3 kg a.i./ha), 추턴 약량의 1/2 (0.15 kg a.i/ha), 114 (0.075 kg a.i./ha) 약량으로 수중 처리하였으며 액제를 추천농도(0.032kg a.i./ha), 추천농도의 112(0.016kg a.i./ha), 1/4 (0.008 kg a.i./ha)의 농도로 벼에 경엽 처리한 후 시기별로 벼멸구를 접종, 사충수를 조사하였고 그 때의 벼체내 약제 함유량을 조사하였다 Imidacloprid 입제의 추천 약량을 처리하였을 경우 약 효(100% 살충률)가 40일까지 지속되었으며, 추천량의 1/2, 1/4 약량에서는 접종세대에 대한 치사효과가 각각 30, 20일가지 지속되었다. Imidacloprid 액제는 추천농도와 1/2농도 처리에서는 접종세대에 대한 약효지속효과가 약제처리 후 40일까지 지속되었으며, l/4농도로 처리한 경우에는 처리 후 30일까지 지속되었다. Imldacloprid입제나 액제 모두 약효 지속기간이 길어 처리 농도에 따라 약간의 차이는 보이나 약 30일 정도 약효가 지속되었다. 파종 전 종자 분의 처리 (3g/볍씨 1kg)의 경우 약제처리 후 55일가지 약효를 나타냈으며 60일부터는 점차적으로 살충력이 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. Imidacloprid 입제를 약량별로 처리한 후 도체 내 잔류량을 시일 별로 조사한 결과 추천량 처리시 처리 1일 후부터 잔류량이 점차적으로 증가되어 6일차에 0.46ppm으로 최고치를 나타낸 후 차차 감소되어 처리40일경에는 0.09ppm이 되었다. 1/2약량, 1/4약량 처리에서도 처리 후 6일경에 잔류량이 각각 0.23ppm, 0.2ppm으로 최고 치에 도달한 후 점차적으로 감소되는 경향을 보였다. Imidacloprid 액체를 추천농도와 추천농도의 1/2, 추천농도의 1/4로 처리한 후의 도체 내 잔류량은 처리 직후 각각 2,0. 6,0. 0.2ppm의 잔류량을 보였고, 처리 후 10일경에는 1/2, 1/4 농도처리 의 잔류량은 추천농도의 잔류량과 각각 7배와 11배의 차이를 보였다.

        활성금속브레이징법으로 계면접합된 AlN/Cu 접합체의 잔류응력 완화에 미치는 Mo 중간재의 영향을 조사하였다. 유한요소법에 의한 응력 해석과 접합체 강도 측정, 파단면의 관찰을 행하였으며, 이들 결과를 비교, 분석하였다. 응력 해석 결과로부터, Mo 중간재를 사용할 경우 최대 잔류 주응력이 형성되는 위치가 AlN/삽입금속 계면으로부터 삽임금속/Mo 계면을 통하여 Mo 내부로 이동됨을 확인하였다.접합체의 자유표면에 형성되는 인장성분의 응력집중 위치는 Mo 중간재 두께가 증가됨에 따라 Cu/Mo 계면과 Mo/AlN 계면의 두 곳으로 분리되었으며, AlN측 잔류응력의 크기는 크게 감소하였다. 중간재를 사용하지 않은 경우 최대 접합강도가 52 MPa로 낮은 강도를 보였으나, 두께 400μm 이상의 Mo 중간재를 사용한 접합체의 경우, 200 MPa 이상, 최대 275 MPa의 접합강도를 얻을 수 있었다.

        수산화물법에 의해 제작된 α-stannic acid의 열분해 거동과 SnO2분말의 성질에 미치는 잔류염소이온의 영향을 관찰하였다. SnCl4와 NH4OH 수용액을 중화시켜 α-stannic acid침전물을 제작하고 NH4NO3수용액으로 세척하였다. 분말내의 잔류 염소이온의 양을 주절하기 위하여 세척정도를 3단계로 조정하였다. 세척후 100˚C에서 건조하고, 500˚C ~ 1100˚C에서 하소함으로써 SnO2분말을 제조하였다. α-stannic acid의열분해 거동ㅇ르 DT-TGA 와 FTIR을 통하여 관찰하고, SnO2분말의 조성과 입자크기 및 비표면적을 각각 AES, TEM 및 BET을 통하여 측정하였다. 잔류 염소이온 양이 감소되면, 저온 하소시 일차입자의 상대적 크기가 커지는 반면 고온하소시에는 상대적으로 감소되었ㄷ. 잔류 염소이온의 일부는 α-stannic acid내의 격자산소 자리에 위치함으로써, 저온가열시 결정수탈리와 결정화를 지연시키고 또한 고온가열시에는 이의 증발에 의해 산소공공이 생성되어 소결을 촉진시킨다고 제의하였다.

        Since the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of matrix phase is larger about 4 times than that of W particle in tungsten heavy alloy, the thermal stresses due to the CTE difference between the two phases are induced in the alloy during heating and cooling processes. In the present study, a series of W heavy alloy containing various W particle volumes of 0 to 90% is made to investigate the residual stress taking place during cooling process. The CTE and residual stress of the series of alloy are measured by dilatometer and X-ray diffractometer. The residual stress of W particle is in compressive stress irrespective of W particle vol% and tends to increase with decreasing W particle vol% while that of the matrix phase is in tensile stress. The measured residual stress of W particle is about a third of calculated thermal stress. The influence of W particle vol% on the residual stress of W heavy alloy is discussed in terms of the deformation behaviors of W particle and matrix phase.
