This study focuses on the investigation of geological, geographical, and topographical features of uninhabited islands in the Buan Coast, located between Byeonsan offshore and Sangwangdeung-ri of Wido-Myeon. The islands contain typical coastal geographical and topographical features such as seastack, tafoni, sea cliff, erosion cave, and notch. Geology of the islands consist mainly of sedimentary rocks and volcanic rocks, that indicate the geological history of the islands. This investigation allows the classification of island according to the importance of nature conservation of the islands.

Coastal dune wetland has an important ecological implication in that it could be closely related to the coastal dune ecosystem by providing various ecological habitats as well as ecological corridor. This paper aims to investigate the hydrological characteristics and aquatic biota of Mokgimiyeonmot (pond), coastal dune wetland in Gulupdo (island). Mokgimiyeonmot located in the lowland dune flat areas has six months long hydro period a year and can be categorized into wet dune slack type coastal dune wetland. As a result of this study, two species of freshwater fishes, two species of amphibia, and 35 species of benthic macro-invertebrates are recognized. Talitridae sp. belonging to Amphipoda also recognized in this survey for the first time from Korea. The results of this study are expected to be basic data necessary to understand the aquatic ecosystems and manage the ecological function of coastal dune field.

This study was to establish the floristic composition of resources vascular plants of Mt. Yongmunsan (1,157m). This work was investigated during the April to September in 2009. Resources vascular plants were composed of 97 families, 267 genera, 351 species, 4 subspecies, 38 varieties and 7 formae, total 400 taxa. Among the investigated resources plants, 11 taxa (2%) were Korean endemic species. The special plants based on floral region by Ministry of Environment were 39 taxa; V grade species 1 taxa, IV grade species 3 taxa, III grade species 6 taxa, II grade species 9 taxa and I grade species 20 taxa. A naturalized plants were 23 species, correspond to 7.93% of total 290 species appeared in South Korea.

This study was performed to assess the level of ozone risk for wheat and potato in the central region of the Korean Peninsula by using ozone indices, the ozone-concentration based index (AOT40). The AOT40 indices were calculated for wheat and potato, respectively, at 25 sites in the central region of the Korean Peninsula during a period of three months from April 1 to June 30, 2006. The results for both indices, AOT40, showed that agricultural crops could be seriously damaged by ozone in the central region of the Korean Peninsula. In the result of AOT40, ozone may affect about 60% of the sites for wheat and 20% of the 25 sites for potato.

Analysis of benthic micro-invertebrate community structure from the Pyeonghwaui Dam was investigated from May 2006 to October 2008. Total taxa of benthic micro-invertebrates were 5 phylum, 8 class, 15 order, 44 family, and 97 species in 2006, and 5 phylum, 7 class, 15 order, 48 family, 103 species in 2008. Mean dominance index at St. 1 to St. 5 were 0.36, 038, 0.38, 0.21 and 0.29. Mean species diversity at St. 1 to St. 5 were 3.84, 3.34, 3.13, 4.84 and 4.28. Although the dominance index of Lentic area was higher than Lotic, but the diversity was lower than Lotic area.
