We searched for X-ray emission from the 665 galaxies inside and towards the nearby voids by analyzing the ROSAT All-Sky Survey (RASS) data as well as the ROSAT pointed observations (PSPC). As a result we have detected six X-ray emitting galaxies. Two (UGC 10205 and NGC 7509) are in the high density region in the local void, three (UGC 749, MCG +11-10-073, and Mrk 464) are towards the nearby voids, and UGC 32 is located in the low density region. We carried out a timing analysis for both Mrk 464 and UGC 32, and a spectral analysis for Mrk 464. The light curve of Mrk 464 shows the possibility of periodic X-ray flux variation and UGC 32 shows weak, but rapid variation.

The frequency distribution of HII regions radii in our galaxy has been investigated. The correlation between the number of these regions and their radii has been re-determined, and could be represented by an exponential function. The size distribution of the HII regions in 10 spiral galaxies has been derived and combined with that of our galaxy to derive the distances of these galaxies. It has been found that the distances derived are in a good agreement with the published ones. The interstellar extinction in the galaxies has no influence on the distance estimate when using this geometrical method.

We present a period analysis of the well known β Lyrae type eclipsing binary GO Cyg (P= 0d .7177). Several new times of minimum light, recorded photoelectrically, have been gathered. Analysis of all available eclipse timings of GO Cyg has confirmed a significant period increase with rate of 2.52 X 10-10day / cycle, also new period has been estimated. New linear and quadratic ephemerides have been calculated for the system.

In this paper, we suggest a new referencing method for the array On-The-Fly(OTF) observations in radio astronomy. To reduce the baseline residual, we have proposed and evaluated a new referencing method which uses the source free regions in the observed frame as references. These new references have small Δt and Δx, the time and position differences between the source and the references, and the systematic problems w~re improved by using this new referencing method. The curved baseline residuals were straightened and the rms was reduced to 17 mK. This new referencing method is expected not only to make possible to take more stable data for the array OTF observation of external galaxies but also to save the observation and data reduction time.
