The concentrations of odor and volatile organic compound (VOC)-inducing substances were measured using selected ion flow tube mass spectrometers (SIFT-MS). SIFT-MS can continuously measure the concentration of odor-causing substances and VOCs in real time without pre-treatment steps. Measurements were conducted during the day and at night at 10 spots in the chemical block of the Sihwa industrial complex. Similar measurement results were observed in the daytime and nighttime for materials except methyl ethyl ketone with high concentrations. A high concentration of hydrogen sulfide was also measured at night. It is expected that an amount of emissions of VOCs and odor-causing substances under the absence of inspection can be traced if measured at other industrial complexes in vulnerable times.

Background: The consequences of falls are often debilitating, and prevention is important. In theory, the lower the center of mass (COM), the greater postural stability during standing, and a weight belt at the waist level may help to lower the COM and improve the standing balance. Objects: We examined how the limit of stability (LOS) was affected by the lowered center of mass with the weight belt. Methods: Twenty healthy individuals participated in the LOS test. After calculating each participant’s COM, a weight belt was fastened ten centimeters below the COM. Trials were acquired with five weight belt conditions: 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% of body weight. Outcome measures included reaction time, movement velocity, endpoint excursion, maximum excursion, and directional control in 4 cardinal moving directions. Results: None of our outcome variables were associated with a weight belt (p > 0.075), but all of them were associated with moving direction (p < 0.01). On average, movement velocity of the COM and maximum excursion were 31% and 18% greater, respectively, in mediolateral than anteroposterior direction (5.4°/s vs. 4.1°/s; 97.5% vs. 82.6%). Conclusion: Our results suggest that postural stability was not affected by the weightinduced lowered COM, informing the development and improvement of balance training strategies.

본 연구는 불법적으로 수산물에 사용될 수 있는 염료 18종에 대한 안전관리 강화를 위해 정량 및 정성 분석이 가능한 LC-MS/MS를 적용하여 검증하기 위해 수행되었다 . 확립된 시험법은 CODEX CAC/GL-71 가이드라인에 따라 직선성, 정밀성 , 정량한계 및 회수율 등을 통해 유효성을 확인하였다 . 대상시료에 1% 아세트산을 함유한 아세토니트릴로 추출 후 C18 과 PSA로 정제하였다 . 본 실험에서 정량한계는 0.002 mg/kg 수준으로 정량한계를 포함한 농도에 따라 검량선을 작성하였고 모두 0.98 이상의 직선성을 확인하였다 . 또한 정확성은 63%-112% 이고, 정밀도는 15% 이하로 재현성이 우수하였다 . 국내 유통 중인 수산물 124 건을 수거하여 개발된 분석법의 적용성 검증과 안전성을 확인하고자 잔류실태조사를 실시 하였고 그 결과 7건이 미량으로 검출 되었고 부적합은 없었다 . 확립된 시험법은 수산물 안전관리에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료되는 바이다 .

국제적인 난민사태가 발생할 경우 난민에 대한 비호, 재정착, 본국송환 등 영구적 해결방안(durable solutions)에 대해 상당히 많은 법적 논란이 있어왔다. 난민이주에 관한 법적 기초는 1951년 난민협약(Refugee Convention)에서 비롯되었지만 현재 국제난민법에서는 오늘날 발생하는 난민이주 및 이주형태 그리고 이와 관련된 국가의 의무 등에 관해 제대로 규정하지 못하고 있다. 하지만 난민들은 이와 같은 국제법규와 관계없이 안전 및 보다 나은 삶을 위해 필사적으로 국경을 넘고 있으나 이에 대하여 최근 유럽난민사태(European Migrant Crisis) 경우 EU회원국들은 발칸루트(Balkan Route)를 봉쇄하였고 미국과 멕시코의 경우 국경장벽 건설을 계획하는 등 관련국들은 억제전략(deterrence strategy) 및 보다 엄격한 출입국관리 정책을 우선적으로 고려하였다. 대규모 난민이주가 발생할 경우 국제법은 이주난민 개인의 권리뿐만 아니라 난민의 출신국, 통과국, 목적국 등에도 영향을 미친다. 오늘날 점차 세계화되면서 대규모 난민이주 문제는 주요한 국제법적 과제로 인식 되기에 난민이 어떠한 이유와 방법으로 국내 이민법 및 절차를 거스르고 국가를 떠날 결정을 했는지에 관한 구체적인 결정 요인을 파악해야 한다. 난민관리가 재정착, 통합 및 본국귀환 등 영구적 해결방안을 통해 이루어지든지 혹은 국경통제, 난민수용소 또는 국제개발프로그램을 통해 진행되든지 간에 난민관리에 관한 정책을 수립함에 있어 경제적으로 유리하고 안전 및 권리가 확보된 지역 내 정착하고자 하는 난민의 선택과 개발이익 및 안보를 도모하고자 하는 국가의 이익 간 균형을 고려해야 한다. 난민협약은 난민들이 교육의 권리 및 직업의 권리와 같은 자립할 수 있는 사회적·경제적 권리의 보장을 규정함과 동시에 이를 국가의 법적 권한 내에서 실현하도록 함으로써 국가의 이익도 확고히 하고 있다. 즉 동 협약에 따라 난민의 선택과 국가의 이익을 상호 연관지어 난민의 권리를 보호해야 한다. 한국에서는 아직 대규모 난민이주 문제가 발생하지는 않았으나 현재 남북한 상황 및 2018년 제주 예멘난민 사태 등을 볼 때 이를 준비할 필요성은 있다. 이에 기존의 대규모 난민이주 사태를 분석함으로써 한국은 아시아 최초 난민법을 제정한 국가로서 국제인권법 및 인도주의에 따라 난민의 권리를 실질적으로 보장해야 할 것이다.

우리 정부는 자율운항선박이 일자리 창출이 높은 새로운 성장동력이 될 것 이고 제4차 산업혁명 대응과 함께 생산성 중심 경제로 전환하는 혁신성장의 아이템이 될 것이라고 예상하고 있다. 이러한 기대를 바탕으로 해양수산부는 기 술혁신을 통한 스마트 해상물류체계를 구축하는 것을 목표로 하여 해운운임의 하락장기화와 낮은 물류 성과지수 그리고 지속적인 해양사고 발생을 극복하고 양질의 신규일자리를 창출할 것을 계획하고 있다. 게다가 국제해사기구(IMO) 에서는 회원국들의 제안에 따라 2018년 5월에 개최된 해사안전위원회(MSC)에서 자율운항선박에 대한 복잡한 법적 문제에 대한 협약 적용에 관한 식별작업을 비롯하여 새로운 개념의 선박도입 에 따른 해상안전인명협약(SOLAS) 등 현행 선박의 운항안전에 관한 법적 규정 적용범위에 대한 분류에 관한 작업을 진행하고 있다. 이미 국제적으로는 자율운항선박에 대한 많은 논의가 오가며 진행되고 있고, 이에 발맞추어 국내에서도 이와 관련된 기술적 분야를 기반으로 하여 많은 논의와 연구가 이루어졌다. 시행됨과 동시에 현실적으로 직면하게 될 실질적 문제는 법규적용이 될 가능성이 농후하다. 특히 민사적 손해배상이 아닌 형사법 적 사고가 발생한 경우 누구를 어느 정도 ‘형사처벌’할 것인가에 대한 논의에 대해서는 여전히 황무지이다. 이와 관련되어 발생할 수 있는 법적 분쟁과 관련 하여 국내에서 대응하고 고민할 사항에 대해 검토해보겠다.

At q = 1.81 ± 0.20 × 10-5, KMT-2018-BLG-0029Lb has the lowest planet-host mass ratio q of any microlensing planet to date by more than a factor of two. Hence, it is the first planet that probes below the apparent "pile-up" at q = 5-10 ×10-5. The event was observed by Spitzer, yielding a microlens-parallax πE measurement. Combined with a measurement of the Einstein radius θE from finite-source effects during the caustic crossings, these measurements imply masses of the host Mhost = 1.14+0.10-0.12 M⊙ and planet Mplanet = 7.59+0.75-0.69 M⊕, system distance DL = 3.38+0.22-0.26 kpc and projected separation a⊥ = 4.27+0.21-0.23 AU. The blended light, which is substantially brighter than the microlensed source, is plausibly due to the lens and could be observed at high resolution immediately.

이 연구의 목적은 파워 저항운동이 여성노인의 체력, 근육량 및 단기운동수행력에 미치는 영향을 보고자 하였다. 이 연구에 참여한 피검자는 70세 이상의 천안시 거주 여성노인 30명을 파워 저항운동군 15명과 일반 저항운동군 15명으로 분류하였다. 파워 저항운동군은 속도를 빠르게 하는 저항운 동을 일반 저항운동군은 평소속도의 운동을 주 3회 60분간 실시하였다. 연구결과 근력은 두 저항운동군에서 유의한 개선을 보였고, 전신지구력에서는 파워 저항운동군에서 유의한 개선을 보였다. 단기운동수 행력 중 2.44m왕복걷기는 파워 저항운동군에서, 400m걷기에서는 두 저항운동군에서 유의한 개선을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 체력과 근량 및 단기운동수행력에서 두 운동방법의 효과는 충분하나 파워저항운동이 다소 우세한 것으로 나타났다.

본 논문은 기상 모델의 미세구름물리 모수화 과정 내의 눈송이의 질량-크기 관계가 지표 강수 모의에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구에 관한 것이다. WDM6와 WSM6 미세구름물리 모수화 방안이 연구를 위해 사용되었다. 실제 관측된 자료를 바탕으로 산출된 Thompson의 눈송이의 질량-크기 관계를 도입하여 WDM6와 WSM6 내의 눈송이의 질량-크기 관계식을 대체하였다. 이상적인 스콜선과 한반도 겨울철 강수 사례에 대해 수정된 WDM6와 WSM6를 사용하여 민감도 실험을 실시하였다. 결과적으로, 대기 하층에서는 싸락눈과 빗방울의 혼합비가 증가하였고 눈송이의 혼합비는 감소하였다. 이러한 혼합비와 지표 강수의 변화는 빗방울과 눈송이의 충돌 및 병합 과정과 싸락눈의 융해 과정에 기인한 것으로 분석되었다.

The CC chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) is a G protein-coupled receptor that regulates chemotaxis and effector functions of immune cells. It also serves as the major co-receptor for the entry of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Recently, CCR5 inhibitors have been developed and used for the treatment or prevention of HIV infections. Additionally, it has been identified that CCR5 controls bone homeostasis by regulating osteoclastogenesis and the communication between osteoblasts and osteoclasts. However, the effects of CCR5 inhibition on bone tissue in elderly patients are unknown. This study aimed to examine the bone phenotype of aged CCR5 knockout (KO) mice. Femoral and tibial bones were isolated from 12-month and 18-month old wild-type (WT) and CCR5 KO mice, and microcomputed tomography and histology analyses were performed. Twelve-month-old CCR5 KO mice exhibited a decreased trabecular bone mass and cortical bone thickness in both femoral and tibial bones compared with agematched WT mice. Eighteen-month-old mice also showed a decreased trabecular bone mass in femurs compared with control WT mice, but not in tibial bones. Unlike in 12-month-old mice, the cortical margin of femurs and tibias in 18-month-old mice were rough, likely because they were aggravated by the deficiency of CCR5. Overall, our data suggest that the deficiency of CCR5 with aging can cause severe bone loss. When CCR5 inhibitors or CCR5 inactivating technologies are used in elderly patients, a preventive strategy for bone loss should be considered.

2017년부터 2019년까지 전북 부안지역에서 채집한 긴날개여치의 발육 및 산란특성을 조사하였다. 긴날개여치(Gampsocleis ussuriensis Adelung)는 저수지 주변 잡초가 우거져 있는 곳에서 주로 발견되었고, 야외에서는 성충이 7월 중순 출현하여 9월 상순까지 나타났다. 알 상태로 겨울을 보내고 이듬해 4월 상순부터 7월 중순까지 약충이 출현하는 것으로 나타났다. 실내에서는 4월 상순 이후 부화한 약충은 5회 탈피를 하고, 성충이 되었다. 긴날개여치 산란기간은 약 58일 정도 소요되었다. 암컷 한 마리당 총평균산란수는 124개였으며, 성충수명은 암컷 95.6일, 수컷 84.8일이었다. 산란매트로는 마사토와 코코피트를 7:3으로 섞은 것이 가장 좋았다. 온도별 발육기간은 24℃에서 64.1일로 가장 길었고, 온도가 높을수록 발육기간이 짧아지고, 생충률은 32℃에서 77.8%로 가장 좋았다. 긴날개여치 약충 사육밀도는 사육밀도가 높을수록 생존율은 떨어지고, 발육속도가 빨라지며, 영기별 탈피속도가 빨라지는 경향이었다.

The resolution process of PPI scandal was led and driven by the UK’s FCA- financial regulator based on powers stipulated in Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. FCA made rules requiring financial institutions concerned to assess mis-selling claims of PPI holders and pay redress to them if mis-selling was found. The opt-out class action, in contrast, is not likely to handle finance mis-selling collectively because commonality requirement is not easily satisfied. The PPI resolution process overcame this problem by assigning the investigation and assessment of individual aspects of the disputes to the financial institutions concerned. This approach is equitable in that financial institutions which are liable to the scandal bears the time and pecuniary cost instead of relying on public resources of courts as in the litigation. The regulator-led resolution can be helpful in designing collective resolution system of finance mis-selling which is characterized as mass victims with small damages.

4차 산업 혁명으로 해양산업은 해사 관련 기술 및 시스템, 특히 선원의 역할에 상당한 변화가 생길 것으로 예상됩니다. 특히, 자율운항선박(MASS)은 인적과실에 의한 안전사고의 예방과 해상 작업 환경의 개선을 위하여 개발되고 있습니다. IMO는 교육 및 훈련 분야를 포함한 모든 분야에서 MASS의 도입에 대한 준비작업을 하고 있습니다. 이에 반해 국내지정교육기관은 아직 MASS에 탑승할 선원을 육성하기 위한 자격기준이나 교육훈련에 대한 계획을 수립하지 못하고 있는 상황입니다. 따라서 본 논문은 MASS의 특성과 적용기술을 검토하고, AI, 빅 데이터, 사이버 보안 등 급변하는 기술 환경에 최적화될 수 있는 스마트 선원의 능력 및 교육 훈련에 대한 필요성을 제시하고자 한다.

In this study, the fate and removal of 15 pharmaceuticals (including stimulants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, etc.) in unit processes of a sewage treatment plant (STP) were investigated. Mass loads of pharmaceuticals were 2,598 g/d in the influent, 2,745 g/d in the primary effluent, 143 g/d in the secondary effluent, and 134 g/d in the effluent. The mass loads were reduced by 95% in the biological treatment process, but total phosphorous treatment did not show a significant effect on the removal of most pharmaceuticals. Also, mass balance analysis was performed to evaluate removal characteristics of pharmaceuticals in the biological treatment process. Acetaminophen, caffeine, acetylsalicylic acid, cefradine, and naproxen were efficiently removed in the biological treatment process mainly due to biodegradation. Removal efficiencies of gemfibrozil, ofloxacin, and ciprofloxacin were not high, but their removal was related to sorption onto sludge. This study provides useful information on understanding removal characteristics of pharmaceuticals in unit processes in the STP.

본 연구는 대체에너지, 생태복원 및 밀원식물용 등으로 이용되어 묘목 수요가 증가되고 있는 쉬나무의 우량한 용기묘 생산을 위한 적정 시비수준을 구명하고자 실시하였다. 공시용기는 임업시설양묘용 플라스틱 용기(350 ㎖/구)를 사용하였다. 시비처리는 무시비구와 함께 수용성 복합비료인 Multifeed 19 (N:P:K=19:19:19, v/v)를 500 ㎎·L-1, 1000 ㎎·L-1, 1500 ㎎·L-1, 2000 ㎎·L-1로 조절하여 시비하였다. 실험결과, 간장과 근원경 생장은 시비수준이 높아짐에 따라 높은 생장값을 나타내다가 1000 ㎎·L-1 이상의 시비에서는 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 뿌리발달은 1000 ㎎·L-1에서 가장 왕성하였다. 건물생산량도 1000 ㎎·L-1에서 가장 높았고 전체적으로 간장 및 근원경 생장 결과와 유사한 경향으로 나타났다. 묘목의 품질을 나타내는 지수인 QI (Quality Index)도 1000 ㎎·L-1에서 0.97로 다른 처리구 보다 높게 조사 되었다. 연구결과를 종합하면, 쉬나무 용기묘의 우량한 묘목생산을 위한 적정 시비수준은 1000 ㎎·L-1로 판단되며, 쉬나무 용기묘의 대량생산을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

In this study, the retractable-roof spatial structure was chosen as the analytical model and a tuned mass damper (TMD) was installed in the analytical model in order to control the seismic response. The analysis model is mainly consisted of runway trusses (RT) and transverse trusses (TT), and the displacement response was analyzed by installing TMD on those trusses. The mass of the single TMD which is installed in the analytical model was set to 1% of the total structure mass and the total TMD mass ratio was set to be 8% or 6%. In addition, the mass of a single TMD was varied depending on the number of installations. As a result of analyzing the optimal number of installations of TMD, the displacement response was reduced in all cases compared to the case without TMD. Above all, the case with 8 TMDs was the most effective in reducing he displacement response. However, in this case, as the load on the upper structure of the retractable-roof spatial structure increases, the total mass ratio of TMD was maintained and the number of TMDs was increased to reduce the mass ratio of one TMD.

In East Asia, the long-range transport of dust storms originating from Mongolia and northern China affects airborne dust loadings over downwind areas in the southern Korean Peninsula. Since 1997, dust loading cases caused by dust storms have been observed using the thresholds of total suspended particles (TSP, ≥250 μg m−3 hr−1 ) and particulate matter less than 10 μg (PM10, ≥190 μg m−3 hr−1 ) in the central-southern Korean Peninsula. There were two dust loading cases that exceeded these thresholds in 2016 and three in 2017, which reflects the downward trend of the last twenty-one years in the central-southern Korean Peninsula. Furthermore, five other dust loading cases with mass concentrations lower than the thresholds were observed from 2016 to 2017. In the moderate dust loading cases exceeding the thresholds, a descending motion of cut-off lows below 45 o N and a southward trough at 500 hPa gpm isopleths intensified at the western ridge, and largely extended the surface high-pressure system over southeast China. Airborne dust loadings following pronounced north-westerlies in the forward side of the high-pressure system were transported to the surface of the central-southern Korean Peninsula. However, in slight dust loading cases lower than the thresholds, the restricted descending motion of cut-off lows over 45 o N and the southwestward trough at 500 hPa gpm isopleths intensified the zonal flow over the Korean Peninsula. Surface high- and low-pressure systems moved eastward from the source compared to moderate dust loading cases. Due to the zonal movement of dust storms traversing eastern China, slight dust loading cases were observed with relatively higher ratios of PM2.5/TSP and carbon monoxide (CO) in the central-southern Korean Peninsula.
