Benthic macroinvertebrates are important ecological and environmental indicators as primary or secondary consumers, and therefore are widely used in the evaluation of aquatic environments. However, there are no comprehensive river ecosystem monitoring surveys that link the major physicochemical water quality items with benthic macroinvertebrates in urban streams. Therefore, this study investigated the distribution characteristics of benthic macroinvertebrates and physicochemical water quality items (17 items) in Yangjaecheon and Yeouicheon from 2019 to 2020. At the same time, by applying Spearman’s rank correlation analysis and nonmetric multidimensional scaling (nMDS) analysis in the water quality data and biotic index, we tried to provide basic data for diagnosing the current status of river ecosystems in major urban rivers in Seoul. Based on the study results, a total of 39 species and 3,787 individuals were identified in Yangjaecheon, the water quality (based on BOD, TOC, and TP) of Yangjaecheon was higher than Grade Ib (good), and the BMI using benthic macroinvertebrates appeared as Grade C (normal) at all the sites. In Yeouicheon, a total of 51 species and 4,199 individuals were identified, the water quality (based on BOD, TOC, TP) was higher than Grade Ib (good) similar to Yangjaecheon, and the BMI of both Upstream and Saewon bridge was Grade B (good), while Yeoui bridge was Grade C (normal). Overall, analysis results for the distribution of benthic macroinvertebrates by a nonmetric multidimensional scaling method showed no significant difference between the two streams (p=0.1491). Also, significant environmental variables related to benthic macroinvertebrates distribution were determined as water temperature and DO. On the other hand, the results of the correlation analysis between biotic index and major water quality items confirmed that R1 and BMI could be used for on-site urban river water quality evaluation.
This study investigated 180 students’ indoor environmental awareness of rest spaces and measured the indoor and outdoor concentrations of PM10, TVOCs, and HCHO in 8 rest spaces from October 2019. 89.4% of the students responded that they use rest spaces at least once a day and most of the respondents are using rest spaces in the university. The largest number of students responded to the tight space as the main cause of air pollution in rest spaces. 62.1% of the students answered they experienced health symptoms from using rest spaces. Among them, 32.5% said they experienced irritation symptoms of eyes, neck, nose, and 12.1% answered that they experienced headaches. Indoor PM10, TVOCs, and HCHO levels did not exceed indoor air quality recommendations nor the maintenance standard for multi-use facilities. According to the type of rest space, concentrations of PM10, TVOCs, and HCHO were higher among the closed-type than open-type rest space. Even if the concentration of pollutants is less than the environmental standard, continuous exposure may cause negative health effects. In addition, considering that 62.1% of the respondents experienced health symptoms, it is deemed necessary to take measures to manage indoor environments in rest spaces and to develop measures to reduce pollutants.
This study conducted a survey on environmental awareness and analyzed outdoor PM10 and heavy metals (cadmium, lead) for 60 local residents living in the Gwangyang national industrial complex from July 2019. 40.0% of subjects responded that local environmental pollution was serious. Especially, there was a high proportion of residents living near the industrial complex or roads where it was perceived that local environmental pollution was serious. The average concentration of PM10 in the outdoors of the houses was 10.95 μg/m3 and the average concentration of heavy metals in PM10 was 1.90 ng/m3 for Cd and 24.92 ng/m3 for Pb. Overall, the average concentration of PM10 and heavy metals revealed a tendency to be high in the houses located near the industrial complex or the roads. As a result of a risk assessment carried out, the cancer risk of Cd was estimated to exceed 106 in the CTE, RME and Monte Carlo analysis. These results suggest that the urgent implementation of specific environmental health education for local residents is necessary.
This study examined the relevance of impact factors using survey data, standardized mortality rates, and medical utilization rates of study subjects in the Namhae and Hadong regions. The study subjects were found to have lived in the area for more than 20 years, and in terms of lifestyle, they did not smoke, but the rate of drinking was high and showed little exercise. As a result of analysis through logistic regression analysis, it was found that angina pectoris, myocardial infarction and anemia were affected by exercise status, and allergic rhinitis disease showed significant results depending on the presence of smoking. The standardized mortality rate of men in chronic lower respiratory tract diseases in the Namhae and Hadong regions was higher than in the nation. In the case of allergic rhinitis, both men and women in Namhae were slightly lower than those in Nation, and in Hadong, both men and women were higher than in Nation.
The use of printing inks containing organic solvents by the master, offset and screen printing process implies the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to the work environment. In this study, the volatile content of inks was evaluated by using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), in which the solvent is evaporated. And, to identify the the characterization of VOCs emissions from printing inks, air samples were collected in a thermal extractor (TE) and analyzed by thermal desorption-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (TD-GC/MS). Weight loss curves suggest that there are two main stages, such as dry fastening and chemical curing. As the result, the first stage of mass loss (below 100oC) was due to VOC evaporation. At this stage, master and offset inks are slightly stable thermally up to 100oC, but screen inks weight loss increases distinctly beyond 25oC. The volatile content is higher in screen inks than in the master and offset inks. The results of the mass-specific TVOC emission rate of the master, offset, and screen inks were 6.3 μg/(g·h), 8.4 μg/(g·h), and 212.2 μg/(g·h), respectively. Then the TVOC emission rate of the screen inks was 25~33 times higher than that of the master and offset inks. The main species were 1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidinone, 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene, 1,2,3-Trimethylbenzene, 1,2,4,5-Tetramethylbenzene, 1-Methoxy-2- propanol, Decane, Undecane, and Nonane.
Indoor air environments for people are recently being observed because the time we spend inside the house or a building throughout the day has been extended during the present circumstances. This is why formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are regulated, which can cause Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). There might be other VOCs not regulated by law in newly built collective housing, however, in order to compensate for the reduced concentration of regulated VOCs such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, and styrene. In this study, the concentration of unregulated VOCs in newly built collective housing structures located in the Seoul Special City was researched to find potential indoor hazards for citizens and to prepare basic data for further research.
The goal of this study was to measure the indoor and outdoor fine and ultrafine particulate matter concentrations (PM10, PM1.0) of some houses in Yeosu and in S university in Asan from March to September 2018. PM10 concentration in indoor air in Yeosu area was 18.25 μg/m3, while for outdoor air it was 14.53 μg/m3. PM1.0 concentration in indoor air in the Asan area was 1.70 μg/m3, while for outdoor air it was 1.76 μg/m3, showing a similar trend. Heavy metal concentrations in the Yeosu region were the highest, at Mn 2.81 μg/m3, Cr 1.30 μg/ m3, and Ni 1.11 μg/m3 indoors. Outside, similar concentrations were found, at Cr 3.44 μg/m3, Mn, 2.60 μg/m3, and Ni 1.71 μg/m3. Our analysis of indoor and outdoor PM concentrations in the Asan region, which was carried out using the MOUDI (Micro-orifice Uniform Deposit Impactor) technique, found that PM concentration is related to each particle size concentration, as the concentration of 18 μm and 18-10 μm inside tends to increase by 3.2- 1.8 μm and 0.56-0.32 μm.
핵연료 운반용 실린더의 재사용을 위한 용기세척공장의 제염공정에 대한 성능을 평가하기 위하여 Na2CO3 + H2O2 혼합용액의 조합을 약간 달리한 2회의 시험을 실행하였다. 각 시험은 모두 일련의 5 단계에 걸쳐 실시되었다. 우라늄 제염의 주 화학종은 Na4UO2(CO3)3 로 식별되었다. 그리고 첫 단계에서의 세척액은 물이었으며, 이 단계에서 50% 이상의 우라늄이 제염되었다. 그 이후로는 단계가 더해 갈수록 우라늄의 제염양은 지수함수적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 화학양론적으로 제거된 우라늄에 비하여 투여된 Na2CO3 의 양은 과다함을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과들에 의하면, 공정최적화를 통하여 Na2CO3 의 투여량 감축, 세척폐액의 감량, 제염단계 축소 등을 꾀할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
In an effort to evaluate the currents in pesticide residues, 3,020 agricultural products were tested by multiresidue method with 260 pesticides, obtained from the circulation market of in the Gangbuk province in 2007.20.4%(616/3020) of the products were determined to contain pesticides residues, but only 4.1%(124/3020) of these were deemed to be unsuitable by the korea Food Code. Unsuitably products were spinach(21.0%), perilla leaf(17.3%), ulgari(13.6%), leek(12.4%), crowndaisy(12.4%), asterscaber(12.4%), chard(11.1%). Detected pesticides were procymidone(3.9%), endosulfan(2.6%), chlorfenapyr(2.2%), bifenthrin (1.3%), cypermethrin(0.7%), metalaxyl( 0.9%), azoxystrobin(0.3%) and chlorothalonil(0.7%). Sixty-four pesticides were detected and 11 pesticides were newly detected in 2007. Thirty-one pesticides in agricultural products exceeded their MRLs.
본 연구에서는 원전연료 가공시설에서 발생한 콘크리트 폐기물을 자체처분 하기 위란 국내 규제요건을 검토하였고, 매립 및 재활용에 따른 작업자 및 일반인의 방사선학적 위해도를 평가하기 위해 RESRAD Ver. 6.3, RESRAD BUILD Ver. 3.3 전산코드를 사용하여 피폭선량을 평가하였다. 피폭선량 평가 결과에 따라 유도된 처분제한치는 콘크리트 폐기물 매립의 경우 0.1071Bq/g (3.5% 농축우라늄), 재활용의 경우 (5% 농축우라늄)이었다. 또한, 자체처분대상 콘크리트 폐기물의 제염 후 잔류방사능을 조사한 결과, 표면오염도는 전체평균이 (알파방출체), 콘크리트 폐기물 표면에서 채취한 시료의 방사성핵종 분석결과 은 0.0297Bq/g, 의 농축도는 2w/o 이하였고, 인위적 오염으로 예상되는 의 농도는 0.0089Bq/g 이었다. 따라서, 자체처분 대상 콘크리트 폐기물의 매립 및 재활용시 일반인 및 작업자에게 미치는 방사선학적 위해도는 원자력관계법령에서 정하는 처분제한치(개인선량 , 집단선량 ) 이하임을 확인하였다.
서울시에서 설치하여 운영중인 대기질 측정소의 입자상물질을 대표하는 PM2.5, PM10, TSP와 황사기간 중 고용량고기포집기로 채취한 먼지성분을 분석, 평가하였다. 1990년도부터 2002년 11월까지 서울에서 관측된 황사일수는 2000년 이후 발생빈도가 증가하였으며 황사지속시간도 길어지는 경향을 보였다. PM10/TSP 비율은 황사시 2000년, 2001년도에 각각 52.9%, 59.4%로 비황사시에 비해 PM10의 비율이 약 10% 정도 낮은 것으로 미루어 황사시 10 μm이상의 입경이 큰 입자 영향이 컸던 반면에 2002년 황사시에는 PM10의 영향이 오히려 크게 나타나 PM10이 TSP 중의 71.4%에 달하였다. 황사가 전체 먼지농도에 미치는 기여율은 2002년도에 PM2.5 11.9%, PM10 23.1%, TSP 19%로 가장 높은 기여도를 보여 황사가 전체 면지농도에 미치는 영향이 매우 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
주요 온실기체인 이산화탄소와 메탄의 농도를 난지도 매립장에 위치한 42개의 배출공으로부터 측정하였다. 그 결과에 의하면, 배출공의 출구에서 관측된 메탄은 부피기준으로 절반 그리고 이산화탄소는 28%에 가까운 수준으로 높은 농도를 유지하였다. 그러나 이들의 환경거동은 배출공의 위치 등과 같은 차이 외에도 가스성분에 따라 여러 가지차이를 보여 주었다. 본 연구의 결과는 이들 성분의 분포가 수은과 같은 미량성분의 분포특성과는 달리 대체로 균질한편이라는 것을 확인해 주었다.
2001년 3월말 기간을 중심으로 강화도 하리지점에서 대기 중 수은의 토양-대기간 교환율의 측정을 시도하였다. 본 연구에서 수은의 농도구배를 측정하고 이를 미기상학적 인자와 결합하는 방식으로 수은의 플럭스값을 산축하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면, 강화지역의 수은 농도는 일반적으로 도심환경에서 발견되는 수준보다는 현저하게 낮은 수준인 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 측정된 플럭스값은 200ng/m2/h에 근접하여 일반적으로 청정한 환경에서 발견되는 수준을 훨씬 초과하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구기간 동안 관측된 주요 환경변수들의 분포경향을 비교해 보면, NOx와 PM등을 포함하는 대부분의 변수들은 배출시의 농도가 침적시의 농도에 비해 높게 나타났다. 반면 기상학적 요인들은 이러한 경향성이 고온 또는 저습도에서 뚜렷하게 확인되었다. 상관분석의 결과에 따르면, 배출시에 대부분의 오염인자들이 수은과 강한 양의 상관성을 보여주었지만, 침적시에는 그러한 경향이 역전되는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 흥미로운 사실은 침적시에 수은관련 변수들은 미세입자와 어느 정도 연계성을 띠는 것을 확인시켜 주었다.
