        Rice husk, in large quantities, is released to the environment due to rice production in Vietnam. If this material can be utilized, it can solve not only the economic issues but also the environmental problems and sustainable development of the country. Laboratory evaluation of asphalt mixture using Nano silica made from rice husk to improve rutting resistance of asphalt mixtures was presented in this study. A 60/70 bitumen was used as control asphalt binder. The ratio of Nano SIO2 used in this study was 0.3%, 0,6%, 0,9%, 1,2%, and 1,5% by weight of powder. A dense gradation with nominal maximum aggregate size of 12.5mm was used for the asphalt mixtures. Marshall stability (MS) test and wheel tracking (WT) test were conducted to evaluate the rutting resistance of asphalt mixtures. It was found that the asphalt mixtures using 0.5%, 1.0%, and 1.5% Nano SIO2 have the rut depths of 5.35mm, 5.39mm, and 5.45mm, respectively, which is 30%, 31% and 29% lower than the control asphalt mixtures at 15,000 load cycles. Moreover, the static modulus of asphalt mixtures using 0.9% Nano SIO2 at 60oC is higher than the control mixtures. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the addition of Nano SIO2 into asphalt mixtures can enhance the rutting performance of asphalt concrete under high temperatures significantly. It is noted that these conclusions were based on only on a limited number of samples and conditions. Further studies must be conducted to investigate the effect of Nano SIO2 on fatigue cracking and moisture damage of asphalt pavement in the field.

        본 연구에서는 상용화 된 piperazine 기반 NE70 및 m-phenylene diamine 기반 NE90 나노여과막을 15 wt% 황산 수용액 조건에서 산 노출 뒤의 표면 특성평가를 통해 분리막의 내산성 평가를 진행하고자 한다. 표면 특성 평가(SEM/FT-IR/ToF-SIMS 등)를 통해 piperazine 기반 분리막이 낮은 내산성을 가짐을 확인하였다. 이러한 특성을 이용하여, piperazine 기반 NE70 분리막을 황산에 후처리를 하게 될 경우 분리막 기공을 조절할 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 최적화된 후처리 조건에서 서로 다른 분자량을 가지는 erythromycin (Mw ~ 734 Da) 과 vancomycin (Mw ~ 1486 Da) 항생제를 농축시키는 공정에 응용하였다.

        연·근해어선들은 운항 또는 조업시 안정성(복원성능 및 횡동요 저감 성능)을 향상시키기 위해 여러 가지 부가물을 설치하며, 일반적으로 Fig. 1과 같이 세 가지로 분류할 수 있다. Bare hull을 포함하여 각 부가물이 단독으로 부착된 경우 3가지, 복수의 조합으로 부착된 경우 3가지 그리고 3가지 모두 부착된 1가지에 대하여 수치 계산을 수행하였다. Table 1은 Bare hull에 대한 주요치수를 나타낸 것이고, Table 2는 3가지 부가물에 대한 주요치수를 기술하였다. 3가지 선체 부가물에 대하여 CFD에 의한 유체동역학적 성능을 평가하였다. 각각의 부가물에 대하여 단독, 2개씩 조합된 복수 그리고 3개 모두 부착된 경우에 대하여 평가를 하였다. 1번 부가물의 경우 압력저항이 마찰저항 보다 차지하는 비율이 큼을 알 수 있었다. 2번과 3번 부가물의 경우 압력저항과 마찰저항이 거의 대동소이 함을 알 수 있었다. 복수조합과 3가지 모두 부착된 경우 부가물 상호간의 상관관계는 매우 작음을 알 수 있었다. 11노트에서 2번 부가물과 모든 부가물이 부착된 경우 유효마력 관점에서 약 9 % 차이를 보였다.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the resistance performance and the sensitivity of the panels placed on the free surface of the water using the potential-based Rankine source panel method. The potential-based Rankine source panel method was applied to predict a flow phenomena around a ship and the exact nonlinear free surface boundary conditions were adopted. The trim and sinkage state of the ship also were taken into account. In order to deal with complex geometries of the planing ship the panel cutting method was adopted. The R/V Athena ship was adopted as the high speed ship. Numerical analysis was carried out by systematically changing the range and number of panels in the free surface area, and the results were compared with each other.

        본 논문은 샤르피 충격 실험을 사용하여 실리카 퓸 시멘트 페이스트의 내 충격성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 일반 페이스트 및 개량 된 페이스트의 시편은 물-결합제 비가 0.5로 제작되고, 실리카 퓸의 비율은 각각 바인더 사용량의 5% 및 10%로 선택되었다. 내 충격성은 3일, 7일 및 28일에 V 노치 시험편을 사용한 샤르피 충격 실험에 의해 얻어졌다. 28일의 실험결과는 실리카 흄을 포함한 시멘트 페이스트의 충격량이 58 %까지 증가하였다. 실험 결과로 부터 시멘트 페이스트의 에너지 흡수 능력을 향상시키기 위해 실리카 퓸을 사용하는 것이 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

        In this study, the long-term performance of FRP Hybrid Bar made by hybridizing FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) with ordinary reinforcing steel bars was experimentally examined as a part of the development of alternative materials for RC (reinforced concrete) structures especially located in marine or harbor areas. In order to evaluate the field exposure of the FRP Hybrid Bar, the specimen was prepared and the corrosion behavior was evaluated by letting the specimen exposed to the field conditions in the west coast of South Korea. The purpose of this study is to provide important data as a material countermeasure to reduce corrosion of reinforcing steel in future marine port concrete structures based on the results obtained through this study.

        PURPOSES : This purpose of this study is to analyze the effect to autogenous shrinkage of the top-layer material of a two-lift concrete pavement mixing both silica fume and polymer powder. METHODS: The bottom-layer of a two-lift concrete pavement was paved with original portland cement (OPC) with a 20~23 cm thickness. Additionally, the top-layer which is directly exposed to the environment and vehicles was paved with a high-performance concrete (HPC) with a 7~10 cm thickness. These types of pavements can achieve a long service life by reducing joint damage and increasing the abrasion and scaling resistance. In order to integrate the different bottom and top layer materials, autogenous shrinkage tests were performed in this study according to the mixing ratio of silica fume and polymer powder, which are the admixture of the top-layer material. RESULTS: Autogenous shrinkage decreased when polymer powder was used in the mix. Contrary to this, autogenous shrinkage tended to rise with increasing silica fume content. However, the effects were not significant when small amounts of polymer powder were used (3% and 11%). CONCLUSIONS : The durability and compressive strength increase when silica fume is used in the mix. The flexural strength considerably increases and autogenous shrinkage of concrete decreases when polymer powder is used in the mix. As seen from above, the proper use of these materials improves not only durability, but also autogenous shrinkage, leading to better shrinkage crack control in the concrete.

        Toxicities of Carbofuran showed different patterns by three application methods, Drench(as systemic effect), Leaf dipping(as contact and systemic effects) and Topical(as contact effect) applications. LC50 dropping pattern was L-shape in Drench, low slope line in Topical and intermediate of them in Leaf dipping. Drench application was the most Carbofuran treatment method to Brown planthoppers. Dropping patterns of LC50 were almost same between resistant and susceptible strains. The checking time of Carbofuran toxicity was suggested to be 2nd day after application by SD analysis of mortality. Resistance ratios were peak on 3rd day after application in Drench, 4th day(Susceptible) and 5th day(Resistant) in Leaf dipping and showed steady increase line pattern in Topical application.

        Temperature can modulate how insects respond to environmental stressors, such as starvation. In this study, we examine whether and how the effects of temperature on starvation resistance depend on nutritional condition and developmental stages in Drosophila melanogaster. Starvation resistance decreased as the temperature exposed during starvation rose from 18 to 28 ̊C, which was mainly caused by warming-induced increase in energy expenditure. When exposed to warm temperatures during feeding, D. melanogaster accumulated more energy reserves and thus become more starvation resistant. The temperature experienced during the larval stage also had a significant effect on starvation resistance at adult stages, with those larvae raised at cold temperatures developing into adult phenotypes with reduced resistance to starvation. This study suggests that the effects of temperature on starvation resistance are highly complex and context dependent in D. melanogaster.

        Entomopathogenic fungi have been known as promising candidates for biological control of insect pests. Recently, researchers consider the fungal thermotolerance in formulations and field applications. In this study, we investigated the production of thermotolerant Isaria javanica and I.fumosorosea conidia through grain-based solid cultures and exposure to light stress. As results, of the ten grain substrates, Italian millet, rice, perilla seed and sesame, rice, sorghum produced highly thermotolerant conidia in the strains. The two strains were exposed to a light stress and a heat stress. And they showed enhanced thermal stability compared to control, when exposed to 45°C for 2 hours. This work suggests that heat-resistant entomopathogenic fungal conidia can be produced by grain-based solid cultures and exposure to light stress.

        Eggs from the mosquito genus Aedes exhibit high desiccation resistance that likely facilitate spreading some of them as a vector of human disease throughout the world. However, molecular mechanism underlying the embryonic resistant to desiccation has not well understood. In this study, we performed functional study of two ovary-specific yellow genes, AalY-g and AalY-g2, in the Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus. The eggs obtained from AalY-g or AalY-g2 RNAi females showed poor desiccation resistance. TEM analysis revealed that, unlike that seen in the dsEGFP-control eggs, no high electron-dense outer-endochorion was evident in the eggs from AalY-g- or AalY-g2-deficient females. These results suggest that both yellow genes at least play roles in the chorion formation, which appears to be critical for integrity and desiccation resistance in Ae. albopictus eggs.

        'Dakyeong' (Avena sativa L.), a winter oats for forage use, was developed by the breeding team at National Institute of Crop Science, RDA in 2016. It was derived from a cross between ‘CI7505’(IT133304) and ‘Swan’(IT197920). Subsequent generations followed by the cross were handled in bulk and pedigree selection programs at Iksan and Jeonju, respectively. After preliminary and advanced yield test for 2 years, ‘SO2004009-B-B-10-8-3-9’, designated as a line name of ‘Gwiri91’, were subsequently evaluated for earliness and forage yield during 3 years in four parts such as Jeju (upland), Yesan (upland), Iksan (upland), and Jeonju (paddy), from 2014 to 2016, and finally named as ‘Dakyeong’. Cultivar ‘Dakyong’ has leaves of dark green color, thick diameter culm and long grain of brown color. Over 3 years, the heading date of ‘Dakyeong’ was about 5 days earlier than that of check cultivar ‘Samhan’ (April 30 and May 5, respectively), and their average forage dry matter yield harvested at milk-ripe stage was higher 12% (15.7 tone ha-1) than 14.0 tone ha-1 of check cultivar. Cultivar ‘Dakyeong’ was lower than the check cultivar ‘Samhan’ in terms of the protein content (6.1% and 7.0%, respectively) and total digestible nutrients (62.1%, and 62.5%, respectively), while the TDN yield was more than the check (7.79 tone ha-1 and 7.64 tone ha-1, respectively). Fall sowing cropping of ‘Dakyeong’ is recommended only in areas where average daily minimum mean temperatures in January are higher than -6°C, and it should not be cultivated in mountain areas, where frost damage is likely to occur.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of squat exercises with an upper limb resistance movement on the vastus medialis oblique, vastus lateralis, and gluteus maximus. This study recruited 16 healthy men. All subjects performed squat exercises with and without upper Limb resistance movements by using elastic tubing band. Electromyography (EMG) activity of the vastus medialis oblique, vastus lateralis, and gluteus maximus was recorded using a surface EMG system during these isometric squat exercises in both experimental conditions. The different muscle activation of the vastus medialis oblique, vastus lateralis, and gluteus maximus between the squat exercises with and without the upper limb resistance movement was analyzed using a paired t-test or Wilcoxon signed rank test. Our findings showed that the vastus medialis oblique, vastus medialis oblique/vastus lateralis ratio and gluteus maximus muscle activity was significantly increased during the squat exercise with upper limb resistance movements, as compared to the squat exercise without this component (p < .05). Based on our findings, the additional upper limb resistance movement may be a useful strategy to facilitate the vastus medialis oblique and gluteus maximus muscle activation during a squat exercise.

        The ability of antimicrobial resistant Salmonella strains to cause invasive disease can be attributed to various virulence genes. In this study, the virulence genes located in SPI-1, SPI-2, SPI-5, SPI-11 were found in all antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella isolates. This suggests that these genes play important roles in Salmonella invasion, growth, or survival in the host. The association between the presence of virulence genes and antimicrobial resistance was assessed using the Spearman’s correlation coefficient, and there is a positive association between the gatC, tcfA, hylE, spiA, pagC, msgA, invA, sipB, prgH, spaN, orgA, tolC, iroN, sitC, lpfC, and sopB genes, and resistance to CF, NA and S. This suggests that the association between antimicrobial agents and virulence genes has been shown to vary with the types of antibiotics that are commonly used in different countries. These different associations can be explained by the mechanisms underlying pathogenicity and the acquisition of resistance genes by Salmonella.

        For our survey of insecticidal resistance of Palm thrips (Thrips palmi Karny), we established the discriminating time (DT) and concentration (DC) of nine insecticides, and we conducted a bioassay about seven local populations via leaf-dipping methods. The discriminating times of the recommended concentration (RC) were 24 h at emamectin benzoate EC and spinetoram SC, 48 h at chlorfenapyr EC, 72 h at spinosad SC, cyantraniliprole EC, acetamiprid WP, dinotefuran WG, imidacloprid WP and thiacloprid SC after treatment. The DC estimated the concentration which showed the difference within the mortalities of these local populations. The DCs were emamectin benzoate EC 0.013 mg L-1 (RC, 10.8 mg L-1), spinetoram SC 0.125 mg L-1 (RC, 25.0 mg L-1), chlorfenapyr EC 0.25 mg L-1 (RC, 50.0 mg L-1), spinosad SC 0.083 mg L-1 (RC, 50.0 mg L-1) and cyantraniliprole EC 5.0 mg L-1 (RC, 50.0 mg L-1), and DCs of neonicotinoids were their RCs, that is, acetamiprid WP (RC, 40.0 mg L-1), dinotefuran WG (RC, 20.0 mg L-1), imidacloprid WP (RC, 50.0 mg L-1) and thiacloprid SC (RC, 50.0 mg L-1). From our investigation into the resistance of the local populations with DT and DC application, the neonicotinoid insecticides have shown a high resistant level for all the local populations, and the other insecticides have demonstrated low or non-resistance. In the use of neonicotinoid insecticides to control Palm thrips, one must take caution. As a result, the establishment of DT and DC in the single dose bioassay method was helpful for surveying the insecticide response dynamics and the development of an insecticide resistance management strategy.

        The planing hull is characterized by a large change in the posture according to the speed, and the shape of the propeller varies, so that the hull resistance varies greatly depending on the propeller used. Especially, the Savitsky system, which is widely used for estimating the resistance of planing hull, does not consider the characteristics of these propeller and ship bottom spray rails. In this paper, in order to investigate the difference in resistance characteristics between the propeller and the bottom of the propeller of 6m and 12m class propeller using propeller such as outboard or stern drive, A comparative test was conducted on resistance and attitude posture changes in the Circulating Water Channel of Institute of Medium & Small Shipbuilding. As a result of comparison test, it was confirmed that there is a clear difference in the attitude change due to the presence of the bottom floor spray rail and the change in resistance characteristics due to the installation of the propeller. However, attitude change with the propeller was found to be insignificant.

        1990년대 중국의 개혁개방과 더불어 국영기업의 민영화가 가져온 下崗, 사회 배급시스템의 중지, 도농간의 빈부격차 등의 부작용은 수많은 하위계층을 양산해내면서, 그들을 사회의 주변으로 내몰고 압박하였다. 그리고 지배이데올로기의 부작용에 노출된 하위계층의 삶과 일상을 재현하는 영화들이 등장하면서 중국 사회의 구조가 안고 있는 모순과 문제점을 포착하였다. 그리고 지배이데올로기의 순기능을 확산하는 영화도 나타나기 시작하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 구도를 저항과 순응의 측면에서 파악하고 있다. <안양의 고아>, <인재경도>, <삼협호 인> 등의 영화를 중심으로 저항과 순응의 관점을 제시하고자 한다.

        The improvement of resistance performance for the 4.99 ton class fishing boats was shown. The 4.99 ton fishing boats are the most commonly used one in the Korean coastal region. The evaluation of resistance performance was estimated by the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. The CFD simulation was performed by the validation for various types of bow shapes on the hull. The optimized hull form from the simulation was selected and showed the best resistance performance. This hull type was tested on the towing tank in the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS). The effective horsepower (EHP) was estimated by the resistance test on the towing tank with the bare hull condition. The drag force on the three service speed conditions was obtained for the resistance analysis to power prediction. The measured drag forces are compared with the results from the CFD simulation with one another. As results of the model tests, it was confirmed that the shape of the bow is an important factor in the resistance performance. The effective horsepower decreased about 30% in comparison with the conventional hull form. Also, the resistance performance improved the reduction of required horsepower, which especially contributed to the energy-saving for the fisheries industry. In the CFD analysis, the resistance performance improved slightly. In this case, the ratio of the residual resistance (CR) in the total resistance (CT) was high. Therefore, the CFD analysis was not enough to satisfy with reflection for the free surface and wave form in the CFD procedure. Both model test and CFD calculation in this study can be applied to the initial design process for the coastal fishing vessel.

        유가금속 및 희소금속의 수요가 많아짐에 따라 제련공정에서 발생하는 황산 용액 내의 유가금속 및 희소금속을 회수하여 사용하는 방향의 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이에 황산용액 내의 희소금속 및 유가금속을 분리하기 위해서는 내산성이 뛰어난 나노분리막이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우수한 내산성을 가진 방향족 폴리아미드 나노여과막을 제조하였으며 제조된 분리막의 나노여과 특성과 내산성 및 내열성을 평가하였다.
