        PURPOSES: This study evaluates the reliability of the patterns of changes in the road surface temperature during winter using a statistical technique. In addition, a flexible road segmentation method is developed based on the collected road surface temperature data. METHODS: To collect and analyze the data, a thermal mapping system that could be attached to a survey vehicle along with various other sensors was employed. We first selected the test route based on the date and the weather and topographical conditions, since these factors affect the patterns of changes in the road surface temperature. Each route was surveyed a total of 10 times on a round-trip basis at the same times (5 AM to 6 AM). A correlation analysis was performed to identify whether the weather conditions reported for the survey dates were consistent with the actual conditions. In addition, we developed a method for dividing the road into sections based on the consecutive changes in the road surface temperature for use in future applications. Specifically, in this method, the road surface temperature data collected using the thermal mapping system was compared continuously with the average values for the various road sections, and the road was divided into sections based on the temperature. RESULTS : The results showed that the comparison of the reported and actual weather conditions and the standard deviation in the observed road surface temperatures could produce a good indicator of the reliability of the patterns of the changes in the road surface temperature. CONCLUSIONS: This research shows how road surface temperature data can be evaluated using a statistical technique. It also confirms that roads should be segmented based on the changes in the temperature and not using a uniform segmentation method.

        PURPOSES: The purpose of this study is to study the noise reducing effect of Micro Surfacing by comparing general asphalt, longitudinal tining and Slurry Seal. METHODS: This study measures vehicles’noise of each section by the NCPX method that can measure noise between the road surface and the tire at the field. Total sound pressure and sound pressure level by the 1/3 octave band frequency are calculated through the field data of each section. Total sound pressure level is compared by ANOVA test statistically. After ANOVA test, post-hoc test is conducted to know mean difference of surface type by Tukey. RESULTS : As the result of CPB analysis to confirm sound pressure levels by frequency, it was shown that sound pressure levels by frequency are totally similar except for those of frequency bands between 100Hz and 500Hz. The result of ANOVA test and post-hoc test, it was shown that sections of surface type have a difference. The result of Micro Surfacing was lower 2~5dB(A) than other surface type. CONCLUSIONS: It is found that the noise reduction performance of Micro Surfacing was better than other surface type.

        PURPOSES : This study attempts to design and establish the road surface condition detection system by using the image processing that is expected to help implement the low-cost and high-efficiency road information detection system by examining technology trends in the field of road surface condition information detection and related case studies. METHODS : Adapted visual information collecting method(setting a stereo camera outside of the vehicle) and visual information algorithm(transform a Wavelet Transform, using the K-means clustering) Experiments and Analysis on Real-road, just as four states(Dry, Wet, Snow, Ice). RESULTS : Test results showed that detection rate of 95% or more was found under the wet road surface, and the detection rate of 85% or more in snowy road surface. However, the low detection rate of 30% was found under the icy road surface. CONCLUSIONS : As a method to improve the detection rate of the mobile road surface condition information detection system developed in this study, more accurate phase analysis in the image processing process was needed. If periodic synchronization through automatic settings of the camera according to weather or ambient light was not made at the time of image acquisition, a significant change in the values of polarization coefficients occurs.

        The physically based model KINEROS2 was applied to forest road segments for simulating hydrology and sediment production. Data on rainfall amounts, runoff volume, and sediment yields were collected at two small plots in the Yangpyong experimental watershed. The KINEROS2 model can be parameterized to match the volume of surface flow and sediment yields during seven storm events. Model predictions of hydrology were in good agreement with the observed data at two plots in the year 1997 and 1998. A comparison between the observed and predicted sediment yields indicated that the model provided reasonable estimates, although the model tended to under-estimate for some storm events. The overall result shows that the KINEROS2 model properly represents the hydrology and sediment transport processes in the forest road segments.

        미끄럼저항은 자동차의 타이 어 와 포장노면 사이에서 발생하는 미끄러짐을 방지하여 제동거리를 제어하고 주행 안전성을 확보하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 우천시의 미끄럼저항 감소는 치명적인 교통사고를 유발할 수 있다. 노면위에 남은 토사 및 겨울철 제설재는 미끄럼저항을 감소시킬 수 있는 요소가 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 노면상의 잔류하는 이물질이 타이어와 포장노면사이에서 발생하는 미끄럼저항에 미치는 영향을 다양한 콘크리트 노면조직 형태 (횡방향타이닝, 종방향타이닝, 골재노출) 및 노면조직의 마모조건(신설노면, 마모된 노면)에 대하여 검토하였다. 노면상의 이물질로는 모래, 염화칼슘과 자동차에서 발생하는 폐 오일을 사용하였으며 각 경우별로 이물질의 양을 달리하여, 모래의 경우는 입도 및 양을 달리해가며 미끄럼저항에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다.

        Better understanding the mechanism of black ice occurrence on the road in winter is necessary to reduce the socio-economic damage it causes. In this study, intensive observations of road weather elements and surface information under the influence of synoptic high-pressure patterns (22nd December, 2020 and 29th January, and 25th February, 2021) were carried out using a mobile observation vehicle. We found that temperature and road surface temperature change is significantly influenced by observation time, altitude and structure of the road, surrounding terrain, and traffic volume, especially in tunnels and bridges. In addition, even if the spatial distribution of temperature and road surface temperature for the entire observation route is similar, there is a difference between air and road surface temperatures due to the influence of current weather conditions. The observed road temperature, air temperature and air pressure in Nongong Bridge were significantly different to other fixed road weather observation points.

        도로의 노면상태는 운전자의 주행안전성 확보에 직접적인 영향을 미치며, 적절한 노면상태가 유지되지 않으면 교통사고 발생 원인으로 작용한다. 특히, 강우시에는 노면에 물고임이 발생하여 미끄럼 사고 등을 유발시킨다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 도로의 노면 정보수집 시스템을 활용하여, 도로 기하구조 조건에 따른 노면 정보를 수집하고, 실제 사고 데이터와의 매칭을 통해 물고임에 의해 사고가 발생할 수 있는 영역 구분에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 지방도, 국도의 노면 정보를 수집하고, 도로기하구조(직선,곡선)를 구분하여 상관 관계를 규명하였으며, 본 연구결과는 노면과 관련한 도로 안전성 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

        Anti-icing system can reduce traffic accidents and congestion by quickly removing the frozen road surface area. there is no decision criteria for determining application of the Anti-icing system in Korea. In this study, we proposed the decision criteria for determining application of the anti-icing system based on weather and road conditions, i.e., geometric and topographic conditions. Regional climate survey, Solar Radiation analysis, and dynamic vehicle simulation considered road geometry was conducted to standardize the installation method of anti-icing system. Also, we have developed a software that can be determined an installation of anti-icing system.

        영상처리기법(Visible 카메라)을 이용하여 A지역 열차 차량의 주행륜, 안내륜 및 집전슈의 거동상태와 차량의 전 궤도 주행에 대한 주행특성(상하, 좌우 변위)을 30Hz로 측정하여 모노레일 구조물의 노면상태를 평가하고자 한다. 열차 차량의 운행에 따른 상하, 좌우 거동상태, 안내륜 및 가이드레일의 거동상태, 주행륜 및 주행면의 거동상태, 주행륜 및 주행면의 거동상태 및 전차선 및 집전슈의 거동상태를 측정하여 정량적인 데이터를 도출하고자 한다. 차량의 주요 측정지점 7개소에 대해 고해상도 Visible카메라를 장착하여 약 6km구간을 주행시간 동안 1회 측정하고, 녹화된 영상데이터를 분석하였다.

        This study examined test piece production and on-the-spot test results of power supply system of road surface temperature sensor module that was put to forecast road freezing at bridge section. The temperature sensor module was produced to replace sensitive sensor (temperature and humidity sensor) of road surface that was put by wire system, and to supply power on-the-spot by itself, And, the study researched optimization considering power consumption for self power generation and sensor operation.

        The surface freezing and snowfall on the highway and bridge deck will be a cause of major accident in winter. The accident can be effectively reduced by preventing the road surface freezing and snowfall. For these, it is needed that the evaluation method for perception of the road surface condition. In this study, the detection system was investigated using the contact and contactless sensors. From the results, it is seemed that the organized system could well predict the road surface condition and so on.

        Pollutants from urban pavement consists various kinds of substances which are originated from dry deposition, a grind out tire, corrosive action of rain to pavement and facilities and raw materials of the road etc.. These are major pollutants of urban NPS (Non-point source) during rainfall period. However there is not enough information to control such pollutants for appropriate management of natural water quality. In this study of transportation areas, three monitoring stations were set up at trunk road, urban highway and national road in Gyeongnam province. Runoff flow rate was measured at every 15minutes by automatic flow meters installed at the end of storm sewer pipe within the road catchment area for water quality analysis. Data was collected every 15 minutes for initial two hours of rainfall. Additional samples were collected 1-4 hours interval till the end of rainfall. The monitoring parameters were CODMn, SS, T-N & T-P and heavy metals. The average EMCs of TSS and CODMn were 62.0 mg/L and 24.2 mg/L on the city trunk road, which were higher than those of urban highway and national road, indicating higher pollutant loads due to activities in the city downtown area beside the vehicle. On the other hand, the average EMC of T-N and T-P were in the range of 2.67-3.23 mg/L and 0.19-3.21 mg/L for all the sampling sites. Heavy metals from the roads were mainly Fe, Zn, Cu and Mn, showing variable EMCs by the type of road. From the TSS wash-off analysis in terms of FF(first flush) index, first flush phenomenon was clearly observed in the trunk road(FF : 0.89-1.43). However, such mass delivery behavior was not apparently shown in urban highway(FF : 0.90-1.11) and national road(FF : 0.81-1.41).

        노면배수시설의 설계방법을 임계지속시간의 고려 여부와 등류 및 부등류의 해석 방법에 따라 4가지로 구분하고, 각 방법에 따른 설계결과를 비교·검토하였다. 임계지속시간을 고려하지 않는 방법에서 설계강우는 10분 지속시간의 강우강도로 정하나, 임계지속시간을 고려할 경우 설계강우는 강우의 지속시간과 유출의 도달시간이 유사해지는 경우를 시산적으로 찾아 결정한다. 4가지 설계방법으로 수립된 설계모형을 다양한 수로의 종단경사 및 길어깨 횡단경사를 가지는 노면배수시설
