이 연구의 목적은 제7차 교육과정의 선택 중심 교육과정에 관한 학생들에 인식과 그 운영실태의 문제점을 알아보는데 있다. 대상은 고등학교 3개교의 10, 11학년(485명)이며 결과는 다음과 갔다. 첫째, 학생이 장래 직업에 대한 확고한 결정이 없이(29%), 선택 중심 교육과정에 대하여 충분히 교육을 받지 못하거나(45%) 선택 중심 교육과정에 대한 정확한 내용을 인지하지 못한(25%) 상태에서 교과 선택이 이루어지고 있다. 둘째, 학생들은 선택 중심 교육과정에 대한 필요성에 긍정적(65%)이거나, 수업에 대한 참여도가 높아졌다(96%)고 생각하고 있어 선택 중심 교육과정에 대한 긍정적인 생각을 가진 것으로 나타났으나, 선택 중심교육과정에 대한 실현 가능성에는 39%의 학생들만이 긍정적인 생각을 가지고 있었다. 셋째, 학생들은 대학 진학의 필요성에 따라 교과를 선택하고(48%), 대학에 진학하기 위하여 자신이 원하는 교과를 모두 선택할 것이라고 응답하였다(41%). 넷째, 과학 과목의 선택은 화학 40%, 생물 25%, 물리 22%, 지구과학 13%순으로 나타났으며, 자신이 선택한 교과목을 바꿀 수도 있다고 생각한 학생이 74%이다. 위의 결과는 학생들이 7차 교육과정의 취지는 인식하고 있으나 과학과목의 선택에서는 자신의 장래나 적성이 고려되지 않고 대학 진학에 따른 해당 대학의 요구와 학교 헌장의 과학교사 분포에 좌우되고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

The mesh selectivity of drum net traps for Buccinum opisoplectum Dall caught in the eastern sea of Korea was described. Several experiments were conducted between July 2003 and March 2004 and the data obtained from the experiment was fitted by SELECT (Share Each Length class's Catch Total) model with unequal fishing and sampling efforts. The selection curve was determined to be 'estimated fishing efficiency' by model deviance rather than AIC. However the fishing efficiency between 20mm and 35mm mesh size did not seem to be different. The L50 lengths of the selectivity for the 55mm and 75mm mesh size were 65.4mm and 96.0mm, respectively.

최근 기술집약적인 경제성장의 중요성이 강조되고 있는 가운데 이공계 진학과 기술직종선택의 감소는 성장잠재력에 가장 근본적인 위협이 된다. 이를 유지하려는 여러 가지 정책이 교육학적이나 사회학적 근거에서 제시되고 있으나 이를 분석하는 이론적 경험적 틀이 상대적으로 부족한 상태이다. 직업선택모델은 사회학적인 접근법이 활발하게 진행되었으나, 경제적 동인에 대한 분석, 성별, 인종별 분석이 부족하다. 본 논문에서는 2000년 미국 센서스 데이터에 나타난 가장 국제화된 미국의 기술직 사례를 통해 경제학적인 인적자본 모델을 기준으로 하여 기술직에 대한 기존의 연구와 비교한다. 기존의 모델을 확장하여 이민의 직업선택모델의 관점에서 원주민의 경우와 비교하며, 동시에 타 직업군과 비교한다. 직업선택에서 미래소득에 대한 예측이 대체로 정확하나 실제의 선택이 다르다는 사회학적 논문들의 주장은 성간 차이의 문제를 제외하고는 현격하지 않다. 민족적 차이의 효과도 인적자본효과에 비해서는 크지 않다. 과학기술직은 고급 화이트칼라 직종에 비해 결혼과 교육 언어 경험면에서 저급한 직종의 특성을 보인다.

붕장어에 대한 스프링형 그물통발의 망목선택성 및 적정망목을 추정하기 위한 시험조업은 경남 거제시 능포 인근해역에서 2002년 9월25일~9월27일에 실시되었다. 시험어구는 현용어구인 15mm, 20mm 및 시험을 위해 제작한 25mm, 30mm 그리고 수산자원보호령에서 규정하고 있는 35mm와 대조어구로써 통수공 6.7mm의 플라스틱 통발을 각각 50개씩 제작하여 사용하였다. 망목선택성은 Kitahara(1968)와 Fujimori(1996)의 방법을 사용하여 분석하였고, 적정망목은 어체 동주와 체장과의 관계 그리고 망목선택성 Master Curve를 사용하여 추정하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 시험조업 결과 총어획미수는 835미로, 붕장어 537미(64.4%), 게류 225미(26.9%), 기타 73미(8.7%)였다. 2. 망목선택성 곡선의 Master Curve에서 최대 전장/망목(max. 1/m)의 값은 23.9로 추정되었다. 3. 붕장어 스프링 통발의 적정망목은 34.0mm로 추정되었다.

Hong, Minpyo. 2004. A Contrastive Analysis of Selections of and Responses to Conversation Topics at the First Meeting: A Case Study of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Australian University Students. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea, 12(2). This paper conducts a contrastive analysis of dialogue topics and responses to the topics at the first meeting based on the data produced by Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, and Australians. The main research interest of this study lies in variation observed across nationality and gender. When the conversation topic at the first meeting was about entertainers, less than 20% of the respondents of the four countries reported uneasiness. More than 20% of the respondents showed discomfort regarding the topics of ideal opposite-sex type, one's phone number, or one's boy- or girl-friends. Concerning drinking capacity, most of Korean and Japanese female respondents reported uneasiness. Women of all countries felt discomfort about the topic of one's height. Korean and Japanese students overwhelmingly felt uneasy about topics of personality or future goals, but Chinese did not. Only Chinese showed discomfort about the topic of the residence place. Looking at gender variation, remarkable differences were observed in the Japanese and Australian data, but no differences were found from Koreans or Chinese. When people were asked what they wanted to know at the first meeting with a person of the opposite-sex, people from all countries preferred to know his/her name. People from Korea and China wanted to know his/her age; Japanese wanted to know where s/he was from; Australians wanted to know his/her hobbies. Koreans also liked to know his/her place of residence, but Chinese and Japanese also wanted to know about his/her hobbies.

동해안의 연안성 어족인 빨간횟대에 대해 망목크기 등을 달리한 8종류의 장구형 통발을 사용하여, 2003년 6월부터 12월까지 총 6차례에 걸쳐 어선 2척을 용선하여 조업한 어획실험으로부터 망목선택성 곡선을 구하여 합리적인 자원관리에 대한 기초 자료를 구하고자 하였다. 망목 크기가 20mm와 35mm인 두 통발의 빨간횟대 어획물로부터 체장에 따른 어획비율의 차이에 대해 특별한 경향을 발견할 수 없었다. 망목 크기가 20mm와 55mm인 두 통발의 경우에 대해 SELECT방법을 이용하여 equal split model 과 estimated split model을 적용한 결과, AIC 값이 적은 전자가 더 적절한 모델이므로, 빨간횟대의 경우는 이들 두 통발에 대한 입망률의 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 망목 55mm의 통발에서 SELECT 모델로 구한 50% 어획될 빨간횟대의 전장은 22.0cm였다. 망목 크기가 20mm, 35mm, 55mm인 통발의 어획 자료에 Kitahara의 방법으로 logistic식을 적용하여 추정된 선택성 곡선식은 와 같았고, 현재 규정 망목 크기인 35mm 장구형 통발에 대해 50% 어획될 빨간횟대의 전장은 21.4cm이었다.
