        This study was conducted to research on the observing state of Korean traditional holidays and the traditional foods related to those days through the questionnaires completed by 578 housewives who live in Kangreung, Daejeon, Jeonju, and Daegu area. For data processing, SAS program was employed, and all data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, and 2-square. The results are as follows; 1. In observing the traditional holidays, more than 90% of housewives who answered the inquiry keep up SEOLNAL, DAEBOREUM, and CHUSEOK, whithout regarding regions. There are larger number of people who keep up IPCHUN, JUNGWHAJEAL, and DANOH in Kangreung and SAMBOK in Daegu than that of other regions (p〈.001). Compared to general circumstances, CHOPAIL is more commonly celebrated by older class as well as lower educated class (p〈.001) Also, the consequence shows that Buddhists observe IPCHUN, SAMJITANL, CHOPAIL, DANOH, SAMBOK, and DONGJI more commonly compared with other classes (p〈.001), IPCHUN, SAMJITNAL, (p〈.01). DAEBOREUM, YUDU, SAMBOK, JUNGYANGJEOL, OHIL, and DONGJI (p〈.001) are celebrated more generally among extended. 2. On inheritance of the traditional holidays, most of the housewives answered that the SEOLNAL, DAEBOREUM, CHUSSEOK, and DONGJI are to be inherited. Compared to general circumstance CHOPAIL is suggested to be inherited by older people (p〈.001). The IPCHUN, CHOPAIL, SAMBOK (p〈.001), and DANCH (p〈.01) are suggested by Buddhists that YUDU and SAMBOK are by nuclear. 3. In preparaing festive foods, DEOKGUK on SEOLNAL, OHKOKBAP and MUKEUNNAMUL on DAEBOREUM, SONGPYEON and GATEUNNAMUL on CHUSEOK, and PATJUK on DONGJI are being made very generally. KANGJEONG on SEOLNAL, BUREUM on DAEBOREUM, KALGUKSU and SAMGYAETANG on SAMBOK, DARKJIM on CHUSEOK, SUJEONGGWA and DONGCHIMI on DONGJI appeared comparatively high rated of making. 4. In normal times, DEOKGUK, MANDU, INJEOLMI, SIKHYAE, SUJEEONGGWA, PYEONYUK, JEONYUEO, SIRUDDEOK, BOKSSAM, MUKEUNNAMUL, SONGPYUN, MINARINAMUL, YUKGAEJANGGUK, KALGUKSU, SAMGYAETANG, HOBAKJIJIM, TORANTANG, GATEUNNAMUL, NUREUMJEOK, DAKJIM, KALBIJIM, PATJJUK, and DONGCHIMI is usully made. 5. The source to learn about traditional foods is mostly by her mother and the rest orders are husband's mother, cooking books, mass media (including T.V), school education, and cooking instituse, etc.

        본(本) 연구(硏究)는 대구시(大邱市)의 주요 하천(河川)인 이천(梨川), 범어천(汎魚川), 칠성천(七星川), 신천(新川), 달서천(達西川) 및 공단천(工團川)의 오염상태(汚染狀態)를 조사(調査)하여 도시하수(都市下水)의 효과적(效果的)인 처리(處理)와 금호강(琴湖江)의 오염방지책(汚染防止策) 수립에 필요한 기초자료(基礎資料)를 제공(提供)코자 하였다. 시기별(時期別) 각(各) 하천(河川)의 pH, DO, COD, 질산염 및 인산염을 분석(分析)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같았다. 1) 각(各) 지점별(地點別) 평균치(平均値)는 pH 7.3~8.2, DO 흔적~6.5ppm, COD 20.4~116.9ppm, T-N 23.2~31.7ppm, -N 18.3~27.7ppm, -N 0.08~1.89ppm, -N 0.19~1.51ppm, -P 2.50~17.28ppm이었다. 2) 지점별(地點別) 오염도(汚染度)가 가장 높은 곳은 공단천(工團川)이었으며 12개월(個月)동안의 평균치(平均値)는 pH 8.2, DO 흔적, COD 116.9ppm, T-N 23.2ppm, -N 18.3ppm, -N 1.89ppm, -N 1.51ppm, -P 17.28ppm이었다. 3) 시기별(時期別)로 비교(比較)하면 pH, DO, COD, T-N, -N의 함량(含量)과 pH는 겨울철이 여름철보다 높았으며 -N and -P의 함량(含量)은 여름철이 다소 높았다.

        The earthquake source parameters of Daegu and Incheon Earthquakes occurred on July, 1985 are redetermined and compared with those reported by Central Meteorological Office of Korea(CMO). Instead of the travel time table used in CMO, the seismic velocity structure calculated from the explosion seismic records of the southern part of Korea is adopted in determining source parameters, P-wave and S-P wave arrival times obtained from seismograms recorded in the networks of KIER and JMA including CMO are used. The discrepancies of determined epicenter and focal depth between CMO and the present work appear to be 6∼8 ㎞ and about 10 ㎞, respectively. In conclusion, the potential error included in epicenter of the Korean instrumental earthquake data is supposed to be about 10 km for the earthquakes(M$gt;3) occurred within the CMO network. However, the error will probably be more than 10 ㎞ for smaller earthquakes or earthquakes of the outside of the network.

        The relationship between night cooling rate and meteorological elements was investigated over the past five years (2016-2020), using weather data from the new (Daegu(143)) and old (Shinam(860)) Daegu Regional Meteorological Agency located in the suburban and urban regions, respectively. There was a correlation between the total daily amount of solar radiation (Stot) and the night cooling rate in the both regions. However, a higher correlation was observed at the new Daegu Regional Meteorological Agency station (Daegu(143)). In particular, data from the new Daegu Regional Meteorological Administration's observatory, which experiences a low thermal storage effect caused by artificial structures, showed a higher correlation between nighttime cooling and weather factors. The reason for this is that the lesser the heat storage effect caused by the artificial structures, the better the effect of surface radiation cooling on temperature reduction. These findings confirm that the correlation between night cooling and weather factors can be used to assess the impact of artificial structures in cities.

        The characteristics of time changes in air temperature, DI (discomfort index) and WBGT (wet-bulb globe temperature) were investigated for inland city (daegu) and coastal city (pohang) of Gyeongbuk Province during the 2018 consecutive heat wave season. The time when the temperature dropped below 33℃ was around 19h in both regions. As such, the two regions were similar with respect to the time up to which the heatwave warning levels continued. However, the discomfort index (DI) was higher than 27 in Pohang. Most people feel unpleasant when an discomfort index of 27 or higher appears. The results indicated that Korea's night-time thermal environment during the summers is particularly poor in the southern coastal areas. WBGT began at 09:00 and lasted until 21:00, with a score of 31 or higher; this score, in principle, corresponded with the duration of outdoor activity in both regions. Therefore, it was found that outdoor work was at a level where all day long had to be stopped in both areas during the heat wave. Although time changes in temperature and WBGT were similar in both regions, Discomfort Index (DI) differed significantly. The difference refers to the fact that Pohang is strongly affected by the high heat capacity effect and the supply of water vapor from the sea.

        The present study aims to investigate the effects of the intonations on the syntactic interpretation of the interrogatives with a wh-expression in the Daegu-North Gyeongsang Korean and the Seoul metropolitan Korean. To this end, it analyzes the syntactic and prosodic structures of the interrogatives with an embedded wh-clause or a yes/no-question with an indefinite pronoun. Two types of perception tests, one with unmodified intonations and the other with transplanted intonations, were carried out to analyze the respondents’ interpretations of the three types of the interrogatives. The results of the test with unmodified intonations were as follows. First, more than 90% of the respondents chose appropriate answers to the three types of the wh-interrogatives with no statistically significant differences. Second, the respondents’ reaction times demonstrated with statistically significant differences that the processing load of wh-questions with matrix scope was heavier than that of wh questions with narrow scope or yes-no questions with an indefinite pronoun. Third, embedding verbs of the question-selecting predicate class such as gunggeumhada ‘wonder’ led to longer reaction time than those of the proposition-selecting predicate class such as saenggakada ‘think’. In addition, the results of the perception test with transplanted prosodies revealed two decisive factors. First, the interrogative-endings -ka/na were more influential factors in the respondents’ syntactic interpretations of wh-questions than the other endings such as –ko/no or the prosodies were. Second, wh-questions with such embedding verbs as saenggakada ‘think’ were interpreted in close accordance with the transplanted prosodic structures, but not so much so in the case of wh-questions with such embedding verbs as gunggeumhada ‘wonder’ irrespective of the prosody transplants.

        본 연구는 대구시 앞산공원 일대 관속식물을 연구하기 위해 수행하였다. 조사는 2018년 4월부터 2019년 10월까지 총 39회에 걸쳐 수행하였고, 확인한 관속식물은 114과 382속 619종 5아종 77변종 12품종 5교잡종 3재배품종 등 총 721분류군으로 정리 하였다. 산림청 지정 희귀식물 23분류군: 멸종위기종(CR) 왕벚 나무 1분류군, 위기종(EN) 깽깽이풀 및 애기자운 2분류군, 취약종(VU) 왜박주가리 및 멱쇠채 등 8분류군, 약관심종(LC) 가침 박달 등 11분류군 및 자료부족종(DD) 옥녀꽃대 1분류군을 확인하였다. 특산식물은 진범, 외대으아리, 노랑갈퀴 등 15분류군을 확인하였다. 환경부 지정 구계학적특정식물 98분류군: Ⅴ등급 구상난풀 1분류군, Ⅳ등급 사철고사리 등 11분류군, Ⅲ등급 바위손 등 24분류군, Ⅱ등급 오리나무 등 18분류군 및Ⅰ등급 큰꽃 으아리 등 44분류군을 확인하였다. 귀화식물은 57분류군으로 이 중 생태계교란외래식물 돼지풀, 미국쑥부쟁이 및 가시상추 3분류군을 확인하였으며, 도시화지수는 17.76%, 귀화율은 7.91% 로 대구 인근지역 주요 산지 및 과거 연구와 비교해 볼 때 다소 높은 도시화지수와 귀화율을 보였다. 이는 도심지와 가까워 접근성이 좋고 연간 천만 이상의 시민이 이용하고 있어 수많은 산책로가 개설되는 등 사람들의 왕래가 잦아지면서 귀화식물의 유입이 많아진 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 현재 자생식물들의 위 협이 될 우려가 있어 생태계교란외래식물을 우선적으로 제거하는 등의 적극적이고 지속적인 관리가 필요하다.

        The purpose of this study is to evaluate the importance of policy for the promotion of forest education and establish a basis that can be applied to it, which considers citizens’ opinions on forest education. According to the importance analysis of forest education policy, program development topped the list with 0.368 points, followed by the application of forest education experts, which scored 0.262 points. Cooperation as well as the supplementing and improvement of facilities yielded 0.238 and 0.132 points, respectively. Concerning the attention and recognition of forest education, only 8% of the respondents had low attention and 19% low or very low recognition; 75% said forest education was very important. Regarding program satisfaction, 76.5% were satisfied with the profitability of content and 77% agreed with the purpose consistency. In terms of the appropriateness of forest education, 79.2% and 81% were content with the period and method, respectively. Finally, 82.7% were satisfied with the participation program. This study aims to share basic data and promotion plans derived from the analysis of policy importance and satisfaction with forest education focused on adults. Domestic forest education is still in the early stages, led by Korea Forest Service. In the long term, local governments must participate in forest education policy positively despite limited budgets and human resources. The results of this study can be utilized as data for forest education promotion plans. If the case studies of other local governments and preference analysis by age group are followed up, they will help ensure that forest education evolves through cooperation with people and organizations in the relevant zone.

        Recently, summer high temperature events caused by climate change and urban heat island phenomenon have become a serious social problem around the world. Urban areas have low albedo and huge heat storage, resulting in higher temperatures and longer lasting characteristics. To effectively consider the urban heat island measures, it is important to quantitatively grasp the impact of urban high temperatures on the society. Until now, the study of urban heat island phenomenon had been carried out focusing only on the effects of urban high temperature on human health (such as heat stroke and sleep disturbance). In this study, we focus on the effect of urban heat island phenomenon on air pollution. In particular, the relationship between high temperature phenomena in urban areas during summer and the concentration of photochemical oxidant is investigated. High concentrations of ozone during summer are confirmed to coincide with a day when the causative substances (NO2,VOCs) are high in urban areas during the early morning hours. Further, it is noted that the night urban heat island intensity is large.. Finally, although the concentration of other air pollutants has been decreasing in the long term, the concentration of photochemical oxidant gradually increases in Daegu.

        The purposes of this study are to comprehend the importance of policy in improving the operation of the public arboretum and survey the program satisfaction of participants and operators based on the case of the Daegu arboretum. According to the order of policy priority regarding the Daegu arboretum, the expansion of the education program topped the list with 0.155 points, followed by the establishment of a vision and goal, and the reestablishment of function, which scored 0.135 and 0.135 points, respectively. Fostering citizens’ participation through volunteer work was in the upper ranks with 0.131 points. Building networks among public arboretums and constructing a research cooperation system with universities turned up with 0.09 and 0.075 points. As the result of program satisfaction, participants’ satisfaction was around 0.66 points higher than that of operators’ satisfaction. In the case of participants, comprehensive satisfaction, including that with the program operation method, was very high at 4.85 points. Out of the entire program, the operators were the most satisfied with the benefits. This study aims to share improvement plans for public arboretums constructed in urban areas, analyzing policy priorities and satisfaction related to the Daegu arboretum. The results of this study can be utilized as data for the improvement plans of public arboretums. If improvement plans for public arboretums are modeled with other follow-up case studies, it will help ensure that public arboretums become evolving rather than fixed areas for citizens.

        This study was carried out to investigate the vascular plants of Mt. Choejeong in Gachang-myeon, Daegu. From March 2017 to October 2018, a total of 22 studies were conducted. The vascular plants surveyed were grouped into 560 taxa, including 104 families, 297 genera, 495 species, 4 subspecies, 51 varieties and 10 forma. Endemic plants 15 taxa, Rare plants 5 taxa, Red list plants 5 taxa, Floristic regional indicator plants 54 taxa, Naturalized plants 36 taxa were recorded. Among surveyed 560 taxa, edible, medicinal, ornamental, timber, pasturing, industrial and fiber plants included 246 taxa (29.2%), 228 taxa (27.1%), 164 taxa (19.5%), 61 taxa (7.2%), 13 taxa (1.5%), and 8 taxa (0.9%). And because people are coming and going more frequently than in the past, this will result in more frequent influx of naturalized plants and a threat to the habitat of the plants that are currently growing.

        The paper presents the damage estimation of bridge structures in Daegu city based on the scenario-based earthquakes. Since the fragility curves for domestic bridge strucures are limited, the Hazus methodology is employed to derive the fragility curves and estimate the damage. A total of four earthuquake scenarios near Daegu city are assumed and structure damage is investigated for 81 bridge structures. The seismic fragility function and damage level of each bridge had adopted from the analytical method in HAZUS and then, the damage probability using seismic fragility function for each bridge was evaluated.

        본 연구에서는 2015 개정 교육과정을 기초로 하여 국악영재교육의 현황을 분석하고 대구예술영재교육원의 교육과정을 중심으로 백워드를 활용한 수업활용방안을 통해 국악영재교육과정에 대한 발전방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 예술영재교육이 가지는 가치를 알고 국악영재교육에 대해 내러티브를 활용한 교육과정 재구성을 제시하여 국악영재교육이 활성화 되는 방안을 모색하고 제시하고자 한다. 나아가서 예술영재교육 수업에 있어 교사와 학생의 내러티브가 어떻게 적용되는지 살펴보고 이를 바탕으로 영재교육의 나아갈 방향에 대해 제시한다.

        We compared the spatial distribution of several heat stress indices (the Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature(WBGT) index, Environmental Stress Index (ESI), and Modified Discomfort Index(MDI)) for the heat wave of June 6 ~August 26, 2016, in Daegu. We calculated the heat stress indices using data from the high density urban climate observation network in Daegu. The observation system was established in February. 2013. We used data from a total of 38 air temperature observation points (23 thermometers and 18 automatic weather stations). The values of the heat stress indices indicated that the danger level was very high from 0900-2000h in downtown Daegu. The daily maximum value of the WBGT was greater than or equal to 35℃ The differences in the heat stress indices from downtown and rural areas were higher in the daytime than at nighttime. The maximum difference was about 4 before and after 1400h, and the time variations of the heat stress indices corresponded well. Thus, we were able to confirm that the ESI and MDI can be substituted with the WBGT index.

        The purposes of this study are to analyze the degree of satisfaction on forest experience among children, based on a survey of teachers and parents who lead them, and to make proposals based upon the findings. The survey was performed in forest experience for children at Apsan Park in Daegu. The results are as follows. First, there were 78 respondents comprising 34 teachers, 39 parents, and 5 others. The teachers’ age groups were distributed evenly between the 20s and 40s and parents’ 51.3% were in their 30s and 46.2% in their 40s. Second, all participants responded that forest experience is necessary for children. 80.8% of respondents required continually additional construction. Specifically, parents insisted that forest experience for children should be built up more than the teachers did. Third, as a result of the management and program satisfaction of forest experience for children, 38.5% of respondents wanted increased access and another 38.5% desired unlimited access. In addition, the older teachers preferred more flexible access. Fourth, the safe facility topped the list of the four facilities ranked by importance with 0.39 points, followed by the learning experience field, the shelter facility, and the discretional facility. This study aims to build up basic data in order to make and practically manage forest experiences for children. Therefore, through continuous research, forest experience for children should be established as a practical experience spaces for children.

        We studied the distribution of air temperature using the high density urban climate observation network data of Daegu. The observation system was established in February 2013. We used a total of 38 air temperature observation points (23 thermometers and 18 AWSs). From the distribution of monthly averaged air temperatures, air temperatures at the center of Daegu were higher than in the suburbs. The daily minimum air temperature was more than or equal to 25℃ and the daily maximum air temperature was more than or equal to 35℃ at the elementary school near the center of Daegu. Also, we compared the time elements, which are characterized by the diurnal variation of surface air temperature. The warming and cooling rates in rural areas were faster than in urban areas. This is mainly due to the difference in surface heat capacity. These results indicate the influence of urbanization on the formation of the daily minimum temperature in Daegu.

        This study examined the regime shifts in the temperature difference between Daegu and Jeju for the month of August using a Markov regime switching model. Using the long-term time series of averaged monthly temperature in August for 1923- 2015, we found the two regimes in the temperature difference with the regime shift taking place in 1952. The first regime, which spans the period from 1923 to 1951, is identified as Daegu, on average, being 0.2°C hotter than Jeju. The second regime, which starts in 1952 and persists until 2015, is characterized as the average temperature of Jeju being 0.4°C higher than that of Daegu. The results are consistent with a regime shift in the temperature of Jeju itself from a low temperature regime to a high temperature regime.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of Daegu citizens on urban agriculture. A questionnaire was conducted for 15 days from May 9, to May 25, 2015, and a sample group consisting of 328 residents of Daegu. The cognitions of awareness to effects and preferences of urban agriculture were analyzed. The cognition level of urban agriculture is in a very low state, the level of satisfaction in experienced groups were high. In addition, intentions of participation in the future were very high. The potential capability of urban agriculture is very strong. In motivation and purpose of urban agriculture activities, such as ‘Hobby and leisure activities’, ‘Safe food production’ were shown as high frequency. In cognition towards the effects of urban agricultural activity, ‘Safe agricultural products’, and ‘Change in dietary life’ were shown to be in high points of agreement. Furthermore, in preferences of the type and activities, ‘Rooftop garden’, ‘Learning/education type home garden’, ‘Home garden utilizing the pieces of small land’, ‘Box home garden’, and ‘Personal weekend farm’ were shown to be highly preferred types. Within the effects of urban agriculture, 4 factors were categorized; ‘Negative effects of urban agriculture’, ‘Positive effects of urban agriculture’, ‘Environmental Improving effects’, and ‘Benefits effects’. In addition, 3 factors are prevalent in type and activities of urban agriculture, ‘Participations of experiencing/education programs’, ‘Cultivation of rental home gardens’, and ‘Lifestyle home garden type’. Conclusively, although the situation of urban agriculture is in the beginning stages, the potential capability of urban agriculture is great. In the future, diverse types of hardware and software programs, such as diverse education/experiencing programs and information supporting programs, will both be required for development

        From December 2014 to November 2015, an automatic weather system (AWS) was installed over a wide road of Daegu to continuously measure meteorological factors and surface temperature. We investigated the effective operating period of the clean-road system using the daily maximum and minimum air and asphalt surface temperatures, with the aim of creating an optimum thermal environment. The clean-road system was installed over a part of the broad way of Dalgubul(Dalgubul-Daero) by Daegu Metropolitan City in 2011. Until now, the clean-road system has been operated from the middle of April to the end of September. We assumed that it was desirable that the clean-road system could be operated when the discomfort index was above 55. In conformity with the conditions, we concluded that the optimum operation period of the clean-road system is from the end of March to about the middle of October.

        In this study, changes in daily temperature range were investigated using daily maximum and minimum temperatures of Busan and Daegu for last 81 years (1934-2014), and also characteristics of daily temperature range and seasonal fluctuations by urbanization were examined. First, elapsing changes showed a lower decreasing trend in Busan (0.32℃) than Daegu (1.2 8℃) for last 81 years. Daily temperature range showed the highest rise in winter in both Busan and Daegu. Second, daily temperature range due to urbanization showed that Busan had a pronounced decreasing trend before urbanization meanwhile Daegu showed the same trend after urbanization. On seasonal changes, the results of Busan showed a decreasing trend in summer before urbanization, and in autumn after urbanization. For Daegu, the results showed a decreasing trend in spring before urbanization, and in winter after urbanization. Seasonal fluctuations of Busan showed little difference in the pre and post-urbanization, except in winter and summer. There was large difference in daily temperature range in winter after urbanization, and in summer before the urbanization. The results in Daegu showed that there was decreasing trend of daily temperature range in all seasons after urbanization.
