        We conducted a study on the possibility of using the power plant's thermal effluent system by using a heating system to utilize the thermal effluent from Jeju Power Headquarters of KOMIPO. In this study, growth information such as the size, leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight of subtropical persimmon fruit (A) in the facility cultivation complex were measured. In the comparison group (B), the growth information of the same crop was measured and compared in an unheated greenhouse near Harye-ri, Namwon-eup, Seogwipo. Fruit size was measured at monthly intervals, and leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight were measured at new shoot season. Measurement results of A and B growth information, 1) Fruit diameter & length, A grew 7.3% and 9.4% than B, 2) Leaf area, A grew 4.7% than B, 3) Fresh weight, the decrease was 8.9%, but the dry weight was 3.6%, indicating that A contains more nutrients than B. Therefore, if the heating control by supplying thermal effluent to the facility greenhouse, it can contribute to reducing the energy cost and improving quality.

        This study was carried out to investigate the growth characteristics, yield and feed value of Sorghum×Sudangrass hybrid for silage according to the drainage depths in the paddy field of lowland. The experimental design was arranged in a randomized block design with four treatments and three replication. The drainage depths of four treatments were 0cm, 20cm, 40cm and 60cm, respectively. Plant length, leaf length and leaf number were not significantly different, but leaf width increased as the higher the drainage depth(p<0.05). The number of dead leaf was higher in the order of 60cm > 0cm ≥ 40cm ≥ 20cm treatment(p<0.05). Green degree was higher in the order of 20cm > 40cm > 0cm > 60cm treatment(p<0.05). Stem diameter and stem hardness increased significantly as drainage depth increased from 0cm to 60cm(p<0.05). Also, fresh yield, dry matter yield and TDN yield increased as the higher the drainage depth(p<0.05). Crude protein and TDN content were the highest in 40cm treatment(p<0.05). Crude ash was higher in the order of 20cm > 40cm > 0cm > 60cm treatment(p<0.05). ADF and NDF content were the highest in 0cm treatment(p<0.05). Total mineral content was higher in the order of 20cm > 0cm > 40cm > 60cm(p<0.05). Free sugar content(fructose, glucose and sucrose) was the highest in 0cm treatment(p<0.05). Total amino acid(EAA+NEAA) was higher in 40cm than the other treatments(p<0.05). There is a difference in the content of ingredients(crude protein, TDN, mineral, free sugar and amino acid) according to the treatments. But considering dry matter yield and TDN yield, Sorghum×Sudangrass hybrid cultivation is advantageous to set the drainage depth of about 60cm in the paddy field of lowland.

        In this study, a plate heat exchanger was developed for applying to a heat pump system using the heated effluent from a thermal power plant. Since seawater is used as a heat source and a heat sink in this heat pump system, Titanium was chosen as the heat plate material for its high corrosion resistance. One of the purposes of the study was to get an optimized distribution area in the heat plate in order that better thermal performances could be achieved through equal flow rates along the heat transfer area. It was revealed from the performance tests that the mean heat transfer rate and the overall heat transfer coefficient were enhanced by 2.9% and 7.7%, respectively, compared to those measured before the design optimization.

        최근 신재생에너지의무화제도(RPS: Renewable Portfolio Standard)대상 신재생에너지 항목에 발전소 온배수가 신재생에너지공급인증서(REC:Renewable Energy Certificate)의 수열에너지(가중치 1.5)로 추가되어 온배수 열원에 대한 가치가 높아졌다. 본 연구에서는 고탁도지역 온배수의 직접적인 활용을 위한 방안으로 히트펌프시스템 내 탁도저감장치를 도입하여 열교환기에 가해지는 오염물질의 저감 효과를 확인해보기 위해 한 달 동안 실증테스트를 실시하였다. 실험결과 탁도 저감효과가 80 % 이상으로 고탁도 지역의 온배수 활용을 위한 방안으로 탁도저감장치의 적용가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한 탁도저감시스템에 따른 열교환기의 오염도 저감 효과를 검증하기 위해 30일간 운전한 열교환기를 해체하여 분석해본 결과 탁도저감시스템을 거친 열교환기보다 그렇지 않은 열교환기의 오염정도가 높은 것을 확인하였다. 열교환기에 유입된 오염물질(스케일)을 분석해본 결과 주로 SiO2, Na(Si3Al)O8, CaCO3, NaCl 성분의 광물이 검출되었는데 이는 높은 탁도로 인해 해양퇴적토가 열교환기에 유입된 것으로 분석되었다. 그 외에도 소량이지만 TiO2, MnO, Cr2O3가 검출되었다. 이는 열교환기를 세척할 때 열교환기 재료로부터 기인한 중금속이 소량 용출된 것으로 판단된다.

        The residual chlorine concentration is an essential factor to secure reliable water quality in the water distribution systems. The chlorine concentration decays along the pipeline system and the main processes of the reaction can be divided into the bulk decay and the wall decay mechanisms. Using EPANET 2.0, it is possible to predict the chlorine decay through bulk decay and wall decay based on the pipeline geometry and the hydraulic analysis of the water distribution system. In this study, we tried to verify the predictability of EPANET 2.0 using data collected from experimental practices. We performed chlorine concentration measurement according to various Reynolds numbers in a pilot-scale water distribution system. The chlorine concentration was predicted using both bulk decay model and wall decay model. As a result of the comparison between experimental data and simulated data, the performance of the limited 1st-order model was found to the best in the bulk decay model. The wall decay model simulated the initial decay well, but the overall chlorine decay cannot be properly predicted.         본 연구에서는 현행 악취공정시험방법에 나타나있는 공기희석 관능법을 사용하여 물질농도와 희석배수와의 관계를 살펴보기 위해 프로피온산, 뷰틸산, 발레르산, i-발레르산 및 i-뷰틸알코올에 대한 물질농도와 희석배수를 측정하였다. 또한 상관관계식을 이용하여 지정악취물질의 농도 규제치의 적정성을 검토하였다. 1. 판정인에 의해 측정된 대상물질의 물질농도와 희석배수의 상관관계는 식 Log C = Af·Log D + 0.5에 의해 적절하게 나타났으며, 총 22종의 지정 악취물질별 상관관계식의 기울기 값의 범위는 0.9023~1.2012으로 이소발레르알데하이드가 가장 작고, 뷰틸알데하이드가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 2. 물질별 관계식으로부터 산출된 희석배수 15와 20에 해당되는 물질농도와 최소감지농도와의 비를 구한 결과, 각 물질의 농도비가 희석배수 15 및 20과 유사한 수치를 나타내 물질별 관계식이 의미가 있는 것으로 추정되었다. 3. 물질별 관계식으로부터 산출된 희석배수 15와 20에 해당되는 물질농도와 현행 물질농도 기준치와 의 비교를 통하여 기준치의 적정 수준 여부를 검토 해본 결과, 프로피온산과 뷰틸산의 경우는 기준치가 상대적으로 낮게 설정된 것으로 판단되며, 발레르산, 이소발레르산과 뷰틸알코올의 경우 물질농도 기준치가 적정 수준인 것으로 추정된다. 본 연구결과는 현행 악취방지법의 부지경계선에서 복합악취 농도 규제기준에 대한 개선방안 및 지정악취 물질들의 물질농도와 악취강도, 희석배수간의 상관관계 및 특성연구 등의 기반 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

        PURPOSES: The permeable pavement type has been rapidly developed for solving problems regarding traffic noise in the area of housing complex and heavy rainwater drainage in order to account for the climate change. In this regards, the objective of this study is to figure out the characteristics of pavement types. METHODS: The laboratory test for deriving optimum asphalt content (OAC) was conducted using the mixtures of the permeable asphalt surface for the pavement surface from Marshall compaction method. Based on its results, the pavement construction at the test field was conducted. After that, the site performance tests for measuring the traffic noise, strength and permeability were carried out for the relative evaluation in 2 months after the traffic opening. The specific site tests are noble close proximity method (NCPX), Light falling deflectometer test (LFWD) and the compact permeability test. RESULTS : The ordered highest values of the traffic noise level can be found such as normal dense graded asphalt, drainage and porous structure types. In the results from LFWD, the strength values of the porous and drainage asphalt types had been lower, but the strength of normal asphalt structure had relatively stayed high. CONCLUSIONS: The porous structure has been shown to perform significantly better in permeability and noise reduction than others. In addition to this study, the evaluation of the properties and the determination of the optimum thickness for the subgrade course under the porous pavement will be conducted using ground investigation technique in the further research.

        인도네시아의 열대 이탄지는 황폐화되고 농경지 및 조림지로 전용되어왔다. 수로는 열대 이탄지의 지하수위를 관리하고 작물의 생산성을 높이기 위해 설치되었으나, 열대 이탄지의 구조를 파괴하고 침하 및 산불 발생 위험을 증가시켰다. 이에 따라, 인도네시아 정부는 수로로 인한 문제를 막기 위한 정책과 모라토리엄을 마련하였다. 그리고 해당 정책들에 따라 이탄지 재습지화에 관한 시범사업들이 일부 수행되었다. 우리나라가 열대 이탄지를 재습지화 한다면 추후 탄소배출권을 확보할 수 있는 가능성이 있으므로, 적절한 재습지화에 관한 자료가 필요하다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 열대 이탄지에 적용되는 정책의 흐름을 조사하고 이 시범사업들의 설치 계획, 고려사항, 댐 설계, 재료, 설치 방법, 모니터링 방법, 그리고 소요 시간 및 비용 등에 대해 분석하였다. 이탄층의 깊이가 3 m 이상인 지역은 개발이 제한되고 개발 허가 발급이 중단되었으며, 복원을 위한 수로차단이 설치되었다. 이 지역에서는 댐의 지속성과 지역 이해당사자들의 참여를 독려하는 것이 우선순위로 여겨졌다. 개발 허가지역의 경우에는 개벌과 화전이 금지되었으며, 지하수위를 유지하기 위한 수로차단에 목적을 두었고, 수로차단을 설치할 때에는 작업 및 비용의 효율성이 우선적으로 고려되었다. 조사 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 인도네시아 열대 이탄지의 규제 적용 및 수로차단 설치 시 적용할 수 있는 방안들을 제시하였다. 이러한 결과는 동남아시아 지역의 배수된 열대 이탄지에 적합한 수로차단을 계획하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        This study aimed to develop a method to optimize residual chlorine concentrations in the process of providing water supply. To this end, this study developed a model capable of optimizing the chlorine input into the clearwell in the purification plant and the optimal installation location of rechlorination facilities, and chlorine input. This study applied genetic algorithms finding the optimal point with appropriate residual chlorine concentrations and deriving a cost-optimal solution. The developed model was applied to SN purification plant supply area. As a result, it was possible to meet the target residual chlorine concentration with the minimum cost. Also, the optimal operation method in target area according to the water temperature and volume of supply was suggested. On the basis of the results, this study derived the most economical operational method of coping with water pollution in the process of providing water supply and satisfying the service level required by consumers in the aspects of cost effectiveness. It is considered possible to appropriately respond to increasing service level required by consumers in the future and to use the study results to establish an operational management plan in a short-term perspective.

        Multi-regional water supply system, which installed for supplying multiple water demands, is characterized by large-sized, long-distance, tree-type layout. This system is vulnerable to long-standing service interruption when a pipe breaks is occurred. In this study, a numerical method is proposed to calculate drainage time that directly affects time of service interruption. To begin with, governing equations are formulated to embed the delayed drainage effect by the friction loss, and to resolve complicated connection of pipelines, which are derived from the continuity and energy equations. The nonlinear hydraulic equations are solved by using explicit time integration method and the Newton-Raphson method. The developed model is verified by comparing the result with analytical solution. Furthermore, the model’s applicability is validated by the examples of pipelines in serial, in parallel, and complex layout. Finally, the model is utilized to suggest an appropriate actions to reduce the deviation of draining time in the C transmission line of the B multi-regional water supply system.
