Stress has been associated with poor eating behavior and diet quality. Yet, the relationship between nutrient and food intake and perceived stress in Korean female adults has not been validated. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between nutrient and food intake and perceived stress in Korean female adults. This is a cross-sectional study based on the 2014-2015 Korean National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey data. This study investigated 2,010 female adults age 19~64. In this study, according to subjects' perceived stress, we classified subjects into very low-stress recognition group (VLSRG) (n=211), low-stress recognition group (VSRG) (n=1,223), high-stress recognition group (HSRG) (n=488) and very high-stress recognition group (VHSRG) (n=88). Daily nutrients and food group intake, food groups consumed (Dietary Diversity Score, DDS) were analyzed using data from the 24-recall method. The VHSRG had a larger proportion of subjects that were younger (p<0.0001), single (p<0.0001) and smokers (p<0.0001) compared to the VLSRG. Energy and food intake did not differ between the four groups. Percentage of subjects with protein (p=0.0322), vitamin A (p=0.0364) and vitamin C (p=0.0115) intake lower than the EAR (estimated average requirement) in the VHSRG were significantly lowest in the four groups. Also, food intake percentage from fruits and seaweed groups in the VHSRG were lower than other groups (p=0.0034, p=0.0015). DDS in the VHSRG (3.87) was significantly lowest in the four groups (p=0.0022). Results suggest that perceived stress in Korean female adults may by significant to consider in nutritional education programs.
본 연구는 고온기 때 사료 내 다른 에너지 수준 및 비테 인 첨가 급여가 육성돈의 영양소 소화율 및 생리학적 변화 에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 실시하였다. 실험동물은 삼원교잡종(L×Y×D; initial body weight, 73.5±0.5kg) 거세 수퇘지 12두를 사용하였고 대사틀에 배치하였다. 실험기간 은 고온기인 7~8월에 실시하였다. 실험계획은 에너지 2수 준(3,300 및 3,400kcal/kg)과 비테인 2수준(0 및 0.5%)이며 4×4 Latin square로 하였다. 조단백질 소화율은 고에너지 사료(3,400kcal/kg)가 저에너지 사료보다 유의적으로 높았 다(p<0.01). 그러나, 비테인급여는 영양소소화율에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 혈액생화학적 분석 결과에서는 에너지 수 준 및 비테인 첨가가 육성돈 내 생리적 변화를 보이지 않 았다. 면역반응을 나타내는 혈중 IgG에서는 고에너지 사료 가 저에너지사료보다 높았으나(p<0.05) 스트레스 지표를 나타내는 cortisol농도에서는 차이가 나지 않았고, 비테인 첨가급여는 IgG 및 cortisol 농도 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 결론적으로 사료 내 비테인 첨가급여보다 에너지 수준을 높이는 것이 돼지 체내에 더 긍정적인 효과를 보이며, 여 름철 고온스트레스를 받는 돼지 사료 내 고에너지를 급여 했을 때 어떠한 결과가 나오는지 추후 더 연구해 볼 만한 것으로 사료된다.
본 연구는 지구온난화 시 예상되는 고온기를 대비하여 고온 및 사료 에너지 급여 수준이 한우 번식우 영양소 소화율에 미치는 영향을 규명하고 고온 스트레스 시 한우 번식우의 영양소 요구량을 설정하고자 수행하였다. 시험은 한우 번식우 4두(평균체중 491±85.6kg)를 공시하였고, 시험구는 고온 및 사료 에너지 급여 수준에 따라 4 시험구(한국가축사양표준 한우 번식우 유지요구량 TDN의 100%(대조구), 고온 처리 및 TDN 100%(T100), TDN 115%(T115), TDN 130%(T130))로 나누어 개체별 대사케이지에 4×4 Latin square design으로 배치하여, 각 period당 21일씩 대사시험을 실시하였다. 대조구는 온도 24℃, 습도 60%(온습도지수(THI)=71.46), 나머지 3개 처리구는 온도 30℃, 습도 70%(THI=81.38)로 설정하였다. 외관상 건물소화율은 대조구와 T100구가 각각 81.64와 81.39%로 T115(78.23%), T130구(78.15%)보다 유의적으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 대조구 대비 혈중 thyroxine, glucose 및 BUN 함량은 T100구에서 수치적 감소가 나타났으나 T115 및 T130구에서 다시 증가하는 결과가 나타났다. 고온처리구의 일당증체량을 기준으로 한우 번식우 유지를 위한 TDN 요구량 산정식 (Y=0.2097X+111.2428)을 도출하였고, 이는 지구온난화(고온기) 시 유지를 위한 한우 번식우 TDN 요구량은 현재 한국가축사양표준에서 제시된 요구량 대비, 11.24%를 증량 급여해야 함을 의미한다.
Five heat shock protein 70 (hsp70) isoforms (hsc70-3, hsc70-4, hsc70-5, hsc70cb, hsp70Ab) of Apis mellifera were identified from Honeybee genome database. Specific primers for each isoform were designed for the quantitative realtime RT-PCR analysis, then analyzed transcript levels of the abdomen of adult workers (3-4 weeks old) in respond to heat shock and imidacloprid ingestion. Heat shock at 45°C for 1 h induced all 5 genes but highest in hsc70cb, hsp70Ab. Ingestion of imidacloprid pesticide did not change any hsp70 isoforms at 33°C but those bees also highly responsive to heat shock at 45°C. In addition, expression level of each hsp70 isoform was various and heat shock response of each isoform was tissue-specific. For example, hsc70-3 was highest in midgut, hsc70-4 was in hypopharyngeal gland, but hsp70Ab was in fat bodies. However, heat shock response of all 5 isoforms was the highest in the fat body than brain, hypopharyngeal gland, midgut, flight muscle and integument. Our results provide information for the understanding of complicated protective mechanism of honey bee against thermal stress.
The sweetpotato whitelfy Bemisia tabaci distribute worldwide and infests more than 500 species of plants. To determine nutritional stress of whiteflies at molecular level, we identified a full cDNA of glucose regulated protein 78 (grp78) which is known to be respond to nutritional restriction in vertebrate species. GRP78 of B. tabaci was highly conserved motifs of the HSP70 family and the C-terminal motif of KDEL characteristic of endoplasmic reticulum-specific HSPs. Real-time RT-PCR analysis showed that the grp78 level was not changed by thermal stress treatment from 4°C to 40°C for 1 h. However, the grp78 level was proportionally increased to the ingestion of a sucrose solution ranging in concentrations from 0% to 30% in a Parafilm feeding chamber. In addition, the grp78 levels were various by the ingestion of leaves of 10 different plants for 24 h; its level was higher with eggplant and pepper but lower with rice and apple. Our study suggests that the grp78 may have a role for cellular chaperones in relation to nutritional uptake of B. tabaci.
Maternal stress was very common symptom that every pregnant women could have experienced during pregnant period. We found that the causative factors of stress for subjects were physical change(50.8%), family relationship(13.6%), change of body image(7.4%), concern baby(6.8%), economic difficulties(6.4%), depress(4.3%), morning sickness(3%), and miscellaneous(3.5%). According to our study, maternal stress during the first trimester negatively correlated with food and nutrients intake of pregnant women and gave low weight gain during pregnancy and low birth weight of infants. It also significantly correlated with monthly income(p〈0.001) and monthly food cost(p〈0.001) during pregnant period. Mean intake of Calcium and Iron were 47~60% of RDA and 35~48 of RDA, respectively. With the Iron supplement the total intake of Iron exceeded 100% of RDA. We also found majority of food items, except seaweeds, fruits and vegetables, were negatively correlated with maternal stress during three trimesters. Additional support system projected by professionals in health-care field could mediate maternal stress and lead to healthy pregnancy outcome.
A survey was carried out to investigate relation between life stress and nutrient intake status in female university students. It was represented that increasing trends of food intake under the stress condition and preference taste was sweet and hot in female students. The female students thought that food intake for coping with stress was produced negative results and they perceived the relation between stress and their health problem. There was a positive correlation between stress level and the change of food intake in female students statistically(p〈0.01). They had higher stress in future prospect, academic problem, friend relationship, personality and family relationship. The average calorie intake of female university students was 1553.06kcal(77.65% of RDA). The intake of protein, calcium and iron were quite less than the RDA, whereas the intake of phosphate, vitamin A, B2, C, niacin were more than the RDA. In changes of nutrient intake under the stress conditions, the higher stress group had decreased intake of calcium, iron, vitamin B1, B2, C than the lower stress group(p〈0.05).
A survey was carried out to investigate relation between stress and nutrient intake in adults. There was a positive correlation between stress and food intake in adults statistically. It seems that women was significantly influenced by physical, psychological and nuerosensational stress than men(p〈0.05). The average calorie intake of men was 1721.25Kcal(68.85% of RDA), the women was 1568.79kcal(78.44% of RDA). Intake of protein, calcuim, Vit B1, Vit B2, Niacin were quite less than the RDA in men, wherase intake of calcuim, iron, Vit B1 were quite less than the RDA in women. In changes of nutrient intake by stress, men was increased as higher stress amount, but women was decreased as higher stress amount(p〈0.05). It was lower level of nutrient intake in the below 60 scores of food attitude group that was needed improve of food intake and counseling of professional nutritionist.
1. 배양액의 EC(mS/cm)와 배양액의 수분포텐셜은 직선적인 관계가 있고, EC의 증가는 배양액의 수분포텐셜 저하로 나타났으며 이에 따라 상위엽의 수분포텐셜이나 침투포텐셜이 변화하는 경향을 보였다. 2. 물리화학, 열역학적인 지표가 되는 수분포텐셜(Φw)은 배양액 뿐만 아니라 식물의 근, 경, 엽 및 과실에서의 수분 상태를 동일 단위로 나타내는 것으로 식물의 생장을 제어할 때 유일한 지표인 것으로 나타났다. 3. 배양액의 수분포텐셜 저하에 따라 상위엽의 수분포텐셜이나 침투포텐셜이 저하하는 경향을 보였다. 4. 배지내 Cu 농도가 5μm이상으로 되면 생육, 지상부의 생체중, 지하부의 건물중, 엽록소 함유율이 동시에 급격히 저하하는 경향을 보였다. 5. 배지내 Cu 농도의 증가에 따라서 생장율의 저하가 나타났으며 생장율의 저하에 따라 상위엽의 수분포텐셜이 저하하는 경향을 보였다. 팽압은 처리에 관계없이 거의 일정하게 나타나 팽압과 배지내 배양액의 Cu 농도 스트레스간에는 직접적으로 관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 수분포텐셜(ψw)은 식물신장, 세포신장을 수적으로 표현하는 것이 가능하다. 수원이 되는 용액이나 배지, 식물체를 동일 단위(㎫)로 관찰하는 것이 가능해 식물체의 수분생리적 비교 검사를 위한 유효한 방법으로 생각되었다.
This research was designed to see the relationship among nutrient intake, food intake frequency and psychosocial stress in ordinary life. The subjects were 190 males and 263 females of university students in urban areas. There were significant correlations between nutrient intake and stress value, and between food intake frequency and stress value. In male, the more they consumed energy, protein and carbohydrate, the higher they had stress in several categories. But in female the results were reversed. Their stress values were lower when they have consumed protein source food frequently. And in general, stress values of female were higher than those of male. From these results, we conclude that nutrient intake tends to be decresed with increase stress in less stressful condition, but to be increased in more stressful condition.
Nitrogen is a key component in the growth of crop plant. To increase the yield of crops, an enormous amount of nitrogen fertilizer is currently being used, which increases the total production cost and leads to environmental pollution by the residual nitrogen sources. For these reasons, researchers have tried to improve the crop’s nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) as a solution for reducing the amount of nitrogen fertilizer used.
MicroRNAs are a class of small non-coding RNAs regulating the expression of target genes. Recent studies suggested that the expression pool of microRNAs changes in response to a variety of nutrient deficiencies and that such changes play important roles in adapting to or resisting the consequential nutritional stresses. Here, we aim to identify and characterize rice microRNAs whose expression changes upon nitrogen starvation and re-supplementation. By applying RNA-Seq, we observed that the expression of a set of genes involved in nitrogen assimilation was altered in response to nitrogen deprivation. We also found that a considerable number of microRNAs exhibited dynamic expression changes in a nitrogen supply state-dependent manner and that the expression of genes targeted by those differentially regulated microRNAs was altered reciprocally. Our study suggests that microRNAs may have roles in regulating the response of rice to nitrogen supply state and subsequently modulating NUE.
