        각종 세정제의 난용 및 과대 사용으로 인한 수질오염이 날로 심각해지고 있으며 이 때 수질오염의 원인은 주로 계면활성제에 의해 발생한다. 본 연구는 이미 다졸린으로부터 유도된 9종의 양쪽성계면활성제와 석유 화학물질로부터 제조하여 대량 사용하고 있는 sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS)에 대한 세정성을 비교하여 보다 우수한 계면활성제를 선정하고자 한다. 또한 세정성의 비교는 세정력의 측정과 세정에 관한 물리화학적 측면에서 그 원인을 규명하고자 한다. 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-(3-sulfonatedropy)-2-undecyl-2-imidazolinum [IV]는 세정성 및 다른 기초적 물성이 우수하여 세정제에 응용할 경우 세정성이 우수한 계면활성제 일수록 오염 부착에 필요한 일이 적게 나타나 오염이 쉽게 제거될 수 있음을 증명하였으며 그로 인한 공업적 응용성에 기대가 크다.

        1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazoline[I] was converted into various types of sulfonated or sulfated amphoteric surfactants as following. 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-(3-sulfonatedpropyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazolium[III] 1-(2-sulfatedethyl)-1-methyl-2-undecyl-2-imidazolium[IV] 1-dioxylethylene methyl sulfonated-1-methyl-2-undecyl-2-imidazoliun[V] N-[N'-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N-(3-sulfonatedpropylammonio]ethyl dodecanoyl amide[VI] Mono sodium N-[N'-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N'-disulfonatedpropylammonio]ethyl dodecanoyl amide[VII] N-[N'-(2-hydroxyethyl-N'-(2-hydroxypropl-N'(3-sulfonatedpropyl)ammonio] ethyl dodecanoyl amide[VIII] The alkylimidazolines could be readily hydrolyzed to give amidoamines, but by quaternerization, hydrolysis stability of imidazoline and amide type amphoteric surfactantes were increased in the alkali and acid conditions. Also, at least three carbon chains introduce to the main group, water solubility was sparingly increased.

        Amphoteric surfactants were synthesized by the cyclization of 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazoline [I] with acrylic acid ethyl ester. Compound [I] was easily hydrolyzed with water, especially in the presence of a alkali, to afford amidoamines. After [I] was hydrolyzed, the reaction mixture was allowed to react with acrylic acid ethyl ester and then soapoinfied. Only sodium salts of N- -(2-carboxyethyl)-N'-(2-hydroxyethyl)aminoethyl]dodecanoyl amide[III] was obtained. However, when the reacton of [I] with acrylic acid ethyl ester was carried out in the presence of water, followed by soapnification, ring cleavage of [I] occurred at 2, 3 position, different from hydrolysis of [I] where the cleavage occurred at 1, 2 position, to give sodium salts of N-[N'-(2-carboxyethyl)aminoethyl]-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)dodecanoyl amide [IV] and N-[N', N'-bis(2-carboxyethyl)aminoethyl]-N(2-hydroxyethyl)dodecanoyl amide [V] as main products.

        All the activities and physical properties including surface tension' foaming power, foam stability, emulsifying power, dispersion effect of 3-(N, N-dimethyl N-alkylammonio)-2-hydroxyY-1-propane sulfonate (HSB)류와 3-CN-alkylamidopropyl-N,N-dimethylamm-onjo)-2-hydroxy-1-propane sulfonate (APSB) aquous solution were measured and critical micelle concentration was evaluated. Their cmc of hydroxy sulfobetaine derivatives evaluated by the surface tension method was 1.0×10-3~1.0×10-4 mol/l, and surface tension of the aquous solution was decreased to 27~38dyne/cm. The experimental results for foaming power, foam stability, emulsifying power in liquid paraffin showed a good surface active properties, especially, dispersion effect in ferric oxide exhibited some efficient surface active properties, and then it would be expected to application as detergent and dispersion agent.

        In order to review industrial application of amphoteric surfactants, new types of hydroxy sulfobetaine, 3-(N, N-dimethyl N-dimethyl-N-alkylammonio)-2-hydroxy-1-propane sulfonate and 3-(N, N-dimethyl N-acylammonio)-2-hydroxy-1-propane sulfonate were prepared by the reaction of quaternized sodium 1-chloro-2-hydroxy-3-propane sulfonate with N, N-dimethyl-N-alkylamine and N, N-dimethyl N-acylamido propylamine that have a straight chain radical of 12, 18 carbon atoms respectively in the presence of alkali catalyst. All the reaction products could be separated by means of column and thin layer chromatography, and the yields of all products ranged in 85~90%, the structure of them could be confirmed from IR and 1H-NMR spectra.

        The Surfactants composed of acylated aterocollagen which is produced by the acylation of the side chain amino radicals of aterocollagen with an aliphatic acid having 12 to 18 carbon atoms will be discussed in this study. This condensation is done at moderate reaction temperature (〈25℃) in aqueous alkaline solution. The products of this reaction were identified by UV/VIS spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy. For these compounds, surface active properties and physical properties including isoelectric point, Krafft point, surface tension, critical micelle concentration(cmc), foaming power, viscosity behaviour, water holding capacity, skin irritation and emulsifying power were measured respectively. The experimental results received that the products have a good emulsifying power, excellent water holding capacity while having low skin irritation. Thus, these derivatives will be expected to be used as an emulsifying agent for O/W type cosmetic emulsion.

        New five N-acyl-N-methyl taurate and their sodium salts were synthesized by acylating sodium N-methyl taurate in water in the presense of inorganic alkali as a catalyst. Wherein acyl group is a straight-chain radical of 10 to 18 carbon atoms. These compounds were identified by infrared spectroscopy. Surface activities of these sodium N-acyl-N-methyl taurate including surface tension, Ross-Miles foaming powers, foam stabilities, emulsifying powers and detergency were measured respectively. Also critical micelle concentration(cmc) were evaluated. Consequently these anionic surfactants with long chain acyl amine showed good emulsifying power of O/W type and had a good detergence.

        Four novel amphoteric surfactants of N-(2-alkylamidoethyl)-N, N-dimethyl ammonioacetates were synthesized. The each reaction between four saturated fatty acids containing 10, 12, 14 and 16 carbon atoms and N, N-dimethylethylene diamine permitted to give the intermediate products, N-(2-alkylamidoethyl)-N, N-dimethylamines. Quaterinzation of these intermediates was permitted to form N-(2-alkylamidoethyl)-N, N-dimethyl, ammonioacetates, whose sturctures were identified by CC, TLC, elemental analysis, IR pectrophotometry and 1HNMR spectrometry. The products yielded from 48% to 58%. The isoelectric points were shown in the range of 4.30~6.64. It showed a tendency to learn to the acidic site and its range was broadened as increase of the hydrophobic group length. Surface tensions of the aqueous solution in the 10-6~10-1mol/l of amidobetaines were measured. and the critical micell concentration(cmc) were shown in the range of 8.37×10-6~8.96×10-2mol/l, and γcmc were reduced to 32.3~38.2 dyne/cm. A linear relationship between log cmc and the number of carbon in the hydrophobic alkyl chain was presented by the formula of log cmc=2.38-0.5n, and the contribution-rate of n on the standard free energy change in micellization ɘ(δG0m)/ɘn, was calulated as -0.5RT.

        Surface chemical properties including surface tension, Ross-Miles foaming power, foam stabilities, emulsifying properties, emulsion stabilities, effectiveness of dispersion, dispersion stabilites of the quaternary ammonium salt type deoxyaminoimositol derivatives such as sixteen kinds of dimethylafkyl-deoxyscyllo-inosityl- dimethylalkyl-2-deoxy-2-myo-inosityl-, dimethylakyl-2-deoxy-2-epi-inosityl- and dimethylalkyl-4-deoxy-4-myo-inosityl ammonium chlorides are tested. And critical micelle concentration of these compounds are estimated from the curves of surface tension and concentration. The experimental results show that the members of this class of compounds have necessary surface active properties to make them effective surfactants.

        In Korea, for about 2 months from late July to early September, it is expected that the average temperature will exceed 25 ℃, therefore, construction shall be conducted with hot weather concrete. In the case of the concrete placed at this time, if proper curing quality control measures are not established, problems such as plasticity, drying, shrinkage, and crack are caused. Therefore, in this study, an optimum method is proposed by mutually comparing the temperature history characteristics of the slab concrete in accordance with the change of surface coated curing material type.

        High temperature corrosion is a major issue in waste-to-energy (WTE) facilities because it effects running cost and energy utilization efficiency. Corrosion of heating surfaces in WTE boilers is a complex phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to analyze the high temperature corrosion characteristics of WTE boiler tubes and to determine the influences of high temperature corrosion on heat exchange. Heating surface corrosion samples for this research were obtained from a superheater tube in municipal solid refuse fuel-fired power plant. Surface morphology, microstructure and phase composition were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The morphology of the heating surface was rough and had porous structures. The chlorine content of the surface was 7.4wt.% and the samples were mainly composed of hematite (Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4). The thermal conductivity of the corrosion samples was characterized using thermal conductivity measurements and was found to be 2.33 W/mK at 500oC. This result, which is 17 times less than that of boiler tube carbon steel (40.40 W/mK), indicates that corrosion of WTE boiler tubes is closely related to a decrease in boiler heat exchange efficiency.

        The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of improvement on the impact resistance and strength properties of cement composites by surface modification of aramid fiber. For aramid fiber reinforced cement composites, therefore, dispersion capability and the bonding efficiency between the fibers and the cement composite material need to be improved. It is possible by modifying surface properties to hydrophobic, it is considered that oiling agent ratio of 1.2 % and improvement of performance is in need to be investigated. In this study, short aramid fibers were mixed by different fiber length and oiling agent ratio. And improvement of strength properties and impact resistance performance of hybrid cement composites were evaluated under the influence of steel fiber. As a result, strength properties of aramid fiber reinforced cement composites are different by mixing ratio of fiber, oiling agent ratio and length of fiber. In case of cement composites which have same volume fraction and fiber length, tensile strength and flexural strength were improved with increase of the emulsions throughput of the fiber surface. The results of evaluation on the static strength properties had effects on impact resistance performance by high-velocity impact. And it was observed that the scabbing of rear was suppressed with increase of the oiling agent ratio.

        The adsorption characteristics of the methylene blue (MB) were studied using three activated carbons such as ACA and ACB with similar specific surface area (1,185 and 1,105 m2/g), and ACC with relatively high specific surface area (1,760 m2/g). The surface chemical properties of these activated carbons were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results indicated that ACA had more functional groups (with phenol, carbonyl, and carboxyl etc.) than ACB (with carbonyl and carboxyl) and ACC (with carboxyl). The isotherm data were fitted well by Langmuir isotherm model. The adsorption capacities of ACA, ACB, and ACC for MB were 454.7 mg/g, 337.7 mg/g, and 414.0 mg/g, respectively. As phenol and carboxyl content of the surface on activated carbon increased, MB adsorption capacity was increased. Although ACA had a smaller specific surface area than ACC, the content of phenol and carboxyl group was abundant, so MB adsorption capacity was found to be higher than ACC.

        In this study, chemical resistance of sulfur polymer was evaluated for surface protection of structures required chemical resistance. From the test result, the mix proportion contained 10% of fly ash and 10% of silica sand which used as a filler to reduce shrinkage showed small reduction of bond strength and good chemical resistance.

        The bond performance of Latex modified concrete(LMC) is excellent when compared with conventional pavement concrete. But LMC have a several problems. In order to improve the problem of LMC, Remicon latex modified concrete(Remicon LMC) was developed. In this study, the surface scaling resistance and bond properties of Remcion LMC containing extra admixture was compared with latex ratio. From the results, when latex and admixture were mixed in concrete, bond strength was improved. And, the surface scaling resistance of Remicon LMC was quite good comparing to LMC. The surface scaling resistance of Remicon LMC mixed latex ratio 8% more showed the equivalent capacity of LMC.

        Experiments were divided into two parts; one part is to understand the basic properties of high flowable VA/VeoVa-modified cement mortar with different polymer cement ratio (P/C) and the weight ratio of fine aggregate to cement (C:F) and the other part is to investigate the effect of surface water spread on the concrete substrate on adhesion in tension. To understand the basic performance, the specimens were prepared with proportionally mixing VA/VeoVa redispersible powder, ordinary portland cement, silica sand, superplasticizer and viscosity enhancing agent. Here, P/C were 10, 20, 30, 50 and 75% and C:F were 1:1 and 1:3. As the change of P/C and C:F unit weight, flow test, crack resistance and adhesion in tension were measured. Three specimens with good adhesion properties were selected among specimens with different P/C and C:F. The effect of surface water evenly sprayed on concrete substrate on adhesive strength is investigated. The results show that surface water on concrete substrate increases the adhesion in tension of high flowable VA/VeoVa-modified cement mortar and additionally improves the flowability compared to the non-sprayed case.

        The changes in quality properties and nutritional components for two mugworts, namely, Artemisia capillaris Thumberg Artemisiae asiaticae Nakai fermented by Bacillus strains were characterized followed by rapid pattern analysis of volatile flavor compounds through the SAW-based electronic nose sensor in the GC system. After fermentation, the pH has remarkably decreased from 6.0∼6.4 to 4.6∼5.1 and there has been a slight change in the total soluble solids. The L (lightness) and b (yellowness) values in the Hunter's color system significantly decreased, whilst the a (redness) value increased via fermentation. The HPLC analysis demonstrated that the total amino acids increased in quantity and the essential amino acids were higher in the A. asiaticae Nakai than in the A. capillaris Thumberg, specially with high contents of glutamic and aspartic acid. After fermentation, the monounsaturated fatty acid increased in the A. asiaticae Nakai and the polyunsaturated fatty acids increased in the A. capillaris Thumberg. While the total polyphenol contents have not been affected by fermentation, the total sugar contents have dramatically decreased. Scopoletin, which is one of the most important index components in mugworts, was highly abundant in the A. capillaris Thumberg; however, it was not detected in the A. asiaticae Nakai. Small pieces of plant tissue in the surface microstructure were found in the fermented mugworts through the use of the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Volatile flavor compounds via electronic nose showed that the intensity of several peaks has increased and additional seven flavor peaks have been produced after fermentation. The VaporPrintTM images demonstrated a notable difference in flavors between the A. asiaticae Nakai and A. capillaris Thumberg, and the fermentation enabled the mugworts to produce subtle differences in flavor.

        This study utilized atomic force microscopy (AFM) and nanoindentation methods to evaluate epoxy water-resistance and anti-corrosiveness. This study considered two different epoxy formulations to assess typical degradation characteristics of epoxy surfaces with regard to water-resistance and anti-corrosiveness. As a result, this study was able to clearly confirm changes in physical characteristics and performance tendencies regarding ozone oxidizing reactions.

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanical property of concretes using surface treated lightweight aggregate. Slump of concretes using surface treated lightweight aggregate measured 120~140mm, which are lower than slump of NWAC. Compared to compressive strength of NWAC, compressive strength of concretes using surface treated lightweight aggregate showed a level of 82.8~95.9%.

        본 연구에서는 고유동성의 SBR 개질 시멘트 모르타르의 기초적 성능을 바탕으로 콘크리트의 보수용 재료에 매우 중요한 요구성능인 부착강도에 대한 피착체의 표면에 존재하는 표면수량의 영향을 검토하는 연구가 수행하였다. 고유동성 SBR 개질 시멘트 모르타르의 기초적인 성능을 토대로 부착강도, 잔갈림성, 재료분리 저항성이 좋은 시험체를 선택하였다. 시험체는 C:F=1:1인 경우 P/C=20%, 30%의 시험체 2개, C:F=1:3인 경우 P/C=50%의 시험체 1개, 총 3개가 선택되었으며 이 3개의 배합에 대하여 피착체의 표면수량에 따른 고유동성 SBR 개질 시멘트 모르타르의 특성을 파악하였다. 표면수는 콘크리트 피착면의 단위 면적 (cm2) 당 각각 0, 0.006, 0.012, 0.017, 0.024 g이 균등하게 살포되었으며, 이에 따른 연도변화, 플로우값, 부착강도, 부착파괴형상, 내균열성 및 재료분리여부를 파악하였다. 본 연구를 통해 콘크리트 피착체에 살포된 표면수는 고유동성 SBR 개질 시멘트 모르타르의 부착강도를 증진하는 효과가 있다는 결론을 얻었다.
