        This study investigated the surface tension and foaming properties of the hot-water extracts of pumpkin leaf and chickpea, as well as the effects of the plant hot-water extracts on white pan bread baking. Propylene glycol alginate (PGA), a synthetic emulsifier widely used in bakery, was used as a control. Pumpkin leaf water extract showed lower surface tension and comparable foaming capacity, compared with chickpea water extract and PGA solution when total solid  0.15% (w/w). Chickpea water extract showed the highest foam stability when total solid  0.15% (w/w). The dough was found to have a weak gel structure, and its viscoelastic properties were not significantly influenced by adding 0.05% or 0.15% (w/w) (based on total solid content) plant water extracts or PGA. The specific volume of the bread increased, and the baking loss was reduced by adding the two plant water extracts of total solid 0.15% (w/w). The hardness and chewiness of the bread crumb were reduced to a level comparable to the crumb containing 0.05% (w/w) PGA. The results showed that the pumpkin leaf water extract could be an effective natural emulsifier with a high phenolic content for bakery products.

        There are many types of foam molding methods. The most commonly used methods are the pressure foaming method, in which foam resin is mixed with a foaming agent at high temperature and high pressure, and the normal pressure foaming method, which foams at high temperature without pressure. The polymer resins used for foaming have different viscosities. For foaming under normal pressure, they need to be designed and analyzed for optimal foaming conditions, to obtain resins with low melt-viscosity or a narrow optimal viscosity range. This study investigated how changes in viscosity, molding temperature, and cross-link foaming conditions affected the characteristics of the molded foam, prepared by blending rubber polymer with biodegradable resin. The morphologies of cross sections and the cell structures of the normal pressure foam were investigated by SEM analysis. Properties were also studied according to cross-link/foaming conditions and torque. Also, the correlation between foaming characteristics was studied by analyzing tensile strength and elongation, which are mechanical properties of foaming composites.

        본 연구에서는 계면활성제 용액에서 1,3-Butanediol, 1,2-Pentanediol, 1,2 Hexanediol 들이 cmc, 표면장력, 기포력 및 유화력에 미치는 영향을 연구 하였다. 계면활성제 수용액에 diol의 첨가는 cmc와 표면장력 저하를 초래 하였으며 기포력 및 유화력은 향상 되었다. 이러한 경향은 diol의 사슬길 이가 길수록 현저 하였다. 이러한 특성은 diol의 알킬사슬과 계면활성제 분자간에 소수성 상호작용이 물 분자간의 응집력을 감소시키고, 계면에서 계면활성제 headgroup간 상호작용을 증진시키기 때문이다. 또 한 각 diol의 방부력을 평가하기 위하여 MIC 측정을 수행 하였으며 방부력은 1,2-HDO > 1,2-PDO > 1,3-BDO 순서였다. 본 연구의 결과들은 diol들이 화장품에서 보조 계면활성제와 방부제로 이용될 수 있음을 확인 시켜 주웠다.

        This study was performed to improve the foaming generated in the effluent of wastewater treatment plant from March 2015 to July 2016. The main cause of foaming was air entrainment by an impinging jet and the internal accumulation by the diffusion barrier. Particularly, the foam growth was most active when there is low tide and larger discharge. To solve this problem, we experimented after installing fine mesh screen and the artificial channel device with underwater discharging outlet in the treated wastewater discharge channel and the outlet, respectively. As a result, the effects of foam reduction by devices ranged 85.0~92.0% and 70.7~85.6%, respectively. In addition, the foam and the noise were easily solved, first of all look to contribute to the prevention of complaints. Our device studies were applied to a single wastewater treatment plant. However, it is considered to be able to apply in other similar cases of domestic sewage treatment plants.

        This study was conducted to suggest the cause analysis and mitigation measures of foaming generated in the effluent of wastewater treatment plant. The foam generated in the outlet connected with the tidal river system was identified as structural problems. And the main cause of foaming was air entrainment by an impinging jet and the internal accumulation by the diffusion barrier. In consideration of these conditions, it present the effective ways such as micro-screen and submerged outlet, to mitigate the foaming generated in the water channel and outlet end.

        In this study, by using oleic acid and polypropylene glycol, good natured antifoaming agent for suitable electronics process under the alkaline conditions were synthesized. For the synthesized mono and diesters, acid value, hydroxyl value was measured, and identified by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Surface properties such as surface tension, critical micelle concentration(cmc) for diluted aqueous solution was measured, and tested the antifoaming properties according to the difference of alkyl chain length, various concentration, temperature and pH. The surface tension of synthesized antifoaming agent, PPMO(Polypropylene glycol monooleate) was 24.3 dyne/cm, PPDO(Polypropylene glycol dioleate) was 23.7 dyne/cm. By increasing of the alkyl chain length, surface tension was decreased slightly, and showed good antifoaming properties at 0.06 wt% concentration and 50℃, pH 11. These synthesized compounds are expected to apply as a suitable antifoaming agents in the semiconductor and the PCB(Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing process.

        최근에 135℃℃ 이하의 온도에서 생산되는 중온형 아스팔트 혼합물의 새로운 생산 기술이 전세계적으로 개발되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 가열 아스팔트보다 낮은 온도에서 아스팔트를 효과적으로 골재에 분산시켜 코팅할 수 있는 폼드 아스팔트 기술을 이용하여 중온형 아스팔트 혼합물을 생산하였으며, 최근 개발된 새로운 Simple Performance Testing 장비를 이용하여 다양한 온도와 하중조건 하에서 중온형 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물의 공용성 특성을 평가하였다. 중온형 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물은 FG 64-22의 아스팔트를 거품상태로 만들어 중온으로 가열된 골재에 뿌려서 제조하였으며, 중온형 아스팔트 혼합물은 중온의 골재에 FG 64-22의 아스팔트를 액상 상태로 첨가하여 제조하였다. 중온형 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물은 중온형 아스팔트 혼합물보다 높은 동탄성계수와 Flow Number를 나타내었다. 따라서, 100℃로 가열된 골재를 사용하여 생산된 중온형 폼드 아스팔트 혼합물은 중온형 아스팔트 혼합물에 비하여 피로균열 및 소성변형 저항에 우수한 것으로 평가되었다.

        Solvent-free low foaming scouring agents (LFSC) were prepared by blending of 2-ethylhexylaminoethyl sulfate (2-EHAS), POE(10) octadecylbenzyl- ammonium chloride (POBAC) and Sedlan FF-200 (FF-200). As the results of several tests, 2-EHAS/POBAC/FF-200/water (8g/12g/20g/60g) mixture (LFSC-5) showed good cleaning power, penetrating ability and stability to alkali, and gave less problem in water pollution. The foaming power of LFSC-5 measured by Ross and Miles method was 8mm foam height immediately after foaming, and that measured by Ross and Clark method was less than 300mm foam height at 30℃, and 18mm at 80℃. As a result, LFSC-5 proved a good low foaming scouring agent for fiber.

        Low foaming scouring agents (LSSA) were prepared by blending of amine salt of dodecylbenzene sulfone, poly (PO-b-EO) glycol, Newpol PP-2000, MJU-100, ethylene glycol and organic solvent. As the results of several tests, LSSA-2 showed good scouring effect, penetrating ability and emulsifiability, and showed not much water pollution. The foaming power of LSSA-2 measured by Ross & Miles method was 11mm foam height immediately after foaming. And the foaming power of LSSA-2 measured by Ross & Clark method were less than 310mm foam height at 30℃, 17mm at 80℃. As a result, LSSA-2 was proved as a good foaming scouring agent.

        Low foaming acidic degreasing agent(LFADAs) were prepared by blending sorbitol, n-octanoic acid, MJU-100A, Tetronix T-701, Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate, Demol C, and phosphoric acid. The physical properties of LFADAs tested with aluminum specimen showed the following results ; when 3wt% LFADA-6 was performed at 70℃, the degreasing rate was 95% which is comparitively good, and the percentage of etching was 0.275% which was found to be less than that of commercialized product. When 20wt% of LFADA-6 was added at 65℃, the percentage of derusting was 92% and the good defoaming effect proved by following low foaming power tests respectively : Ross and Miles, and Ross and Clark methods.

        In this study, the expandable shale collected from the same area in Korea is fired to confirm the foamability. The firing uses an electric furnace capable of firing up to 1600 ℃. The shale was classified into three types according to its constituent and apparent characteristics, and each component was analyzed by XRD analysis method. The shale was fired considering the firing temperature and the residence time. As a result of firing, it was found that the firing temperature was different by more than 100 degrees and it was confirmed that the foaming property was increased with increasing temperature

        This study investigated the properties of lightweight foamed concrete by using surfactant and synthetic foaming agent, lightweight aggregate. The effects of foaming agent types and replacing ratio of lightweight aggregate on the compressive strength, density and pore structure of the concrete were investigated. This study showed the improvement of important properties of lightweight foamed concrete. Lower pore distribution and correspondingly higher compressive strength values were reached. Also, synthetic foaming agent had more positive effect on the strength of foamed concrete.

        This study investigated the properties of foamed concrete by using surfactant foaming agent and synthetic foaming agent. The effects of foaming agent types on the compressive strength, density and pore structure of the concrete were investigated. The samples were assessed by XRD analysis and simultaneous SEM was used to study their pore distribution. This study showed the improvement of important properties of foamed concrete. Lower pore distribution and correspondingly higher compressive strength values were reached. Also, synthetic foaming agent had more positive effect on the strength of foamed concrete.
