Recent development in North Korea has heighted the security situation in Northeast Asia region. Also, the discussion and interest relation to reunification of the government and academia including korean people have been actively developed. Therefore, this study should asserts the needs and plan of infrastructure improvement in the Korean Peninsula. Accordingly, The purpose of this study is as follows; First, it investigate the current status for the civil structures facility including the main SOC of North Korea. Second, it estimate on the development value and fragility level of Infrastructure Based on questionnaire and interview refugees of North Korea.

This study focused on whether the large-scale expansion joints of the Diamond Bridge, a suspension bridge, is being appropriately and efficiently utilized during maintenance period. In this study, a linear regression model was developed by analyzing long-term monitoring data from the bridge, considering the bridge design standards in Korea and building-related literatures. Then, the reliability of the model was verified through a theoretical review on the relationship between temperature change and expansion joint displacement. The expansion joint displacements of the bridge showed a regular time series graph with temperature change. A linear regression analysis indicated that the slope of the graph was very similar to the displacement of steel due to linear expansion coefficient, with a high determination coefficient (R2=0.979), meaning that the actual behavior of the bridge conforms to the theory. Considering the expansion joint specification of the bridge and existing external loads, actual expansion joint displacement was only 8.5 percent of its specification, so the specification can be adjusted in order that actual expansion joint displacement can be up to 21.6 percent of its specification. In this case, expansion joint cost can be reduced as much as 78.4 percent of its original cost.

Using a servo acceleration sensor applied to the inertial navigation system for various weapons system, We developed a sensor which can measure the safety of structure and earthquake. To verify the performance of the sensor, we analyzed the building structure frequency domain, low frequency domain, El-centro sesmic wave for response characteristic. We also tested the sensor whether it can measure angular displacement or not.

Total 7 maintenance indices were proposed to manage bridges efficiently, which were categorized into bridge safety, longevity, and cost-effective management system. Goal and current state for each index were also presented. Optimum strategies for each index are required in order to achieve goals.

A lot of bridges have been built with economic growth and national development for a long time. The existing domestic bridge has been become deterioration with the increase of the quantity management. Therefore appropriate maintenance such as an inspection, diagnosis, repair, and rehabilitation is required to extend the service life of the bridge. The domestic and international cases of the maintenance for inspection personnel were investigated and analyzed. As a result, there was hardly clear and accurate criteria about inspection personnel but Denmark. However, the qualification and competence of the team members have been presented.

This study is based on a survey conducted to understand the current problems of water leakages in underground structures. According to the overall results, 55.7% of the respondents replied that water leakage problems is serious and all replied that a preventative measure is absolutely necessary.

Damage by ship collision is related to the frequency of loads due to impact, and ships accordingly must be designed to satisfy related requirements. Another important aspect is the management of collision risks during the service period. This study performed an interim assessment of Incheon Bridge focusing on the risk of ship collision, and proposed solutions to the identified problems. It is necessary to conduct further research on collision risk management and promptly carry out interim assessments of other marine bridges.

Steel is a common structural material that is used for bridges, buildings, railroad tracks, wind towers, offshore platforms, and many other applications. Steel naturally corrodes in different atmospheric environments, which results in costs for corrosion protection, prevention and maintenance. The corrosion on steel elements is identified by optical examination, which does not provide information on the material characteristics. Studies have shown that Raman spectroscopy can identify the corrosion products of steel and differentiate between iron oxides and hydroxides. The purpose of this experiment is to validate the use of Raman spectroscopy in accurately identifying corrosion material on steel without a protective coating.

In this study, weight of assessment items for rock and soil slopes is deducted using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). And also, weight of each performance for final evaluation is analyzed. As a result, tension crack and ground deformation make up a large proportion in all slopes, and weight of each performance based on the location of the slope does not show a big difference.

The airborne chlorides environment by de-icing salts of retaioning wall in motorway were examined. It was found that in the retaining wall, height of 14m, the airborne chlorides tend to be decreased by height ranged between 81.0-73.8%.

The Goal of research is that budget maintenance of Bridge Shoes in Highway were estimated in network-level bridges. We determined the life cycle of Bridge Shoes with HBMS(Highway Bridge Management System) data by the survival analysis probability model. We developed the method that predicted cost of maintenance in all bridge shoes of the highway bridge in Korea.
