If service level is increased, then service cost such as labor cost and facility cost will be increased. This service cost is included in the budget constraint in this paper. This service cost makes the problem difficult to solve. The purpose of this research is to develop an efficient approach for a continuous review inventory system with budget constraint when the semi-finished product and optional components are required to be assembled. Assuming that the reorder point for semi-finished product is given, order quantity for semi-finished product and order quantity and reorder point will be determined to minimize total cost that includes setup cost, inventory holding cost, and shortage cost. The performance of the proposed approach is checked by using an example.

When manufacturing die casting mold, generally, the casting layout design should be considered based on the relation among injection system, casting condition, gate system, and cooling system. Also, the extent or the location of product defects was differentiated according to the various relations of the above conditions. In this research, in order to optimizing casting layout design of an automobile part (Oil Pan_DX2E) Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation was performed with two layout designs by using the simulation software (AnyCasting). The simulation results were analyzed and compared carefully in order to apply them into the production die-casting mold. During the mold filling with two models, internal porosities caused by air entrap were predicted and also compared by the modification of the gate system and the configuration of overflow. With the solidification analysis, internal porosities caused by the solidification shrinkage were predicted and also compared by the modification of the gate system.

As film products are more frequently used from producing traditional flexible packing products to high-tech electronic products, requested higher level of quality. Most film products are made in the shape of roll-type finished goods, so various quality problems are addressed related with their characteristics of shape. Thickness of film products is one of the most common and important quality problems. Particularly the Degree of thick smoothness is more important than other thickness issues, because it causes many secondary issues of thickness-related quality problems like wrinkles or faulty windings. Thick smoothness must be controlled in both horizontal and vertical direction. In this paper, HOQ (house of quality) was built to interpret VOC (voice of customers) to CTQs (critical to quality). To decide priorities of VOC and CTQs, both techniques are applied. One is AHP (analytic hierarchy process) with pairwise comparison. The other is an absolute weight calculation method with level-up rate. From the result of HOQ, it is certain that the thick smoothness is the most important CTQ in film manufacturing industry. Finally, this paper presents how to monitor and improve repetitive coincidence of microscopic deviation of thickness in some special vertical points.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the amount of job stress factors of hospital workers, which has an effect on their turnover intention. For identifying the influences on turnover intention, the workers at national and university hospitals in Daejeon fall into three categories- office workers, technical workers, and nursing staffs-, and the stress factors are subdivided into seven factors as job demand, job autonomy, relationship conflict, job security, organizational system, proper rewards, and corporate culture. The research method is built as a questionnaire for job stress and turnover intentions based on the existing researches and preliminary study, and 232 workers at national and university hospitals in Daejeon were surveyed. IBM SPSS Statistics21 was used as the static analysis tool and the descriptive statistics quantity about job stress factors and the turnover intention is analyzed depending on the types of hospitals, job groups, working years, and gender. The result shows that the job stress factors have similarities according to the types of hospitals and these job stress factors have influence on turnover intention. Therefore it could be considered that the hospital managers can find the major job stress factors of their employees and resolve their turnover intention in advance.

Recently, the government of Mongolia has decided to expand usage of Mongolian traditional script. Official letters, official certificates have to been written in Mongolian traditional script. Even if, traditional Mongolian script became taught in secondary schools and national programs implemented to teach traditional Mongolian script to public, traditional Mongolian script is still not familiar to Mongolians. In this paper, we propose automatic conversion system Mongolian Cyrillic script into Mongolian traditional script. Because of word sense disambiguation problem we need a Mongolian slot grammar parser. Mongolian lexical system is implemented using Protégé Web Ontology Language where we can describe relation between words such as: same rooted words like “шийдвэр-discussion”, “шийд-discuss”. There is no similar system implemented by Mongolians, except the system made by Inner Mongolians in China, and our system is not based on a database but based on an ontology.

An estimation of indices for potential process capability (Cpk) and/or overall process performance (Ppk) is considered in order to gain insight into the statistical process control. The similarity and the difference of the two indices are discussed in some detail to clarify the meaning and usage of the two indices. It is demonstrated that the short term variance can be estimated within the framework of analysis of variance (ANOVA). Theoretic background is examined and followed by a simple numerical example, with a view to the implementation of the concept in the industrial fields.

In aerospace industry, MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure) and MFTBF((Mean Flight Time Between Failure) are generally used for reliability analysis. So far, especially to Korean military aircraft, MFTBF of avionic equipments is predicted by MIL-HDBK-217 and MIL-HDBK-338, however, the predicted MFTBF by military standard has a wide discrepancy to that of real-world operation, which leads to overstock and increase operation cost. This study analyzes operational data of avionic equipments. Operational MFTBF, which is calculated from operational data, is compared with predicted MFTBF calculated conventionally by military standard. In addition, failure rate trend is investigated to verify reliability growth in operational data, the investigation shows that failure rate curve from operational data has somewhat pattern with decreased failure rate and constant failure rate.

Virtual metrology(VM) is a promising technology which can convert off-line sampling inspection into on-line total inspection at the manufacturing process. This paper provides an economic evaluation model of VM system which predicts the defects of a target process with Bernoulli sampling inspection. For this purpose, we build M/G/1 queueing models of two systems. One is VM non-applied system and the other is VM applied one. We derive total costs per unit time of each system and conduct sensitivity analysis according to variations of input parameters such as defect rates, various process costs and VM prediction error rates. The proposed analysis model is expected to be used for evaluating economic values of VM system implementation projects.

Process Capability Index(PCI) is useful Statistical Process Control(SPC) tool that is measure of process diagnostic and assessment tools widely use in industrial field. It has advantage of easy to calculate and easy to use in the field. Cp and Cpk are traditional PCIs. These are only considers of process variation. These are not given information about the characteristic value does not match the target value of the process. Studies of this process capability index by many scholars actively for supplement of its disadvantage. These studies to evaluate the capability of situation of various field has presented a new process capability index. Cpm is considers both the process variation and the process deviation from target value. And Cpm+ is considers economic loss for the process deviation from target value. In this paper development of new process capability index that is Taguchi's quadratic loss function by applying the expected loss. And check the correlation between existing traditional process capability index(Cpk) and new one. Finally, we propose the criteria for classification about developed process capability index.

The project-based business companies usually have much interest in predicting the expected finish date and related probability of project completion to refer at their proposals for projects. In general, the management of projects schedule risk is achieved by modeling project schedule with PERT/CPM techniques, then performing risk assessment with Monte-Carlo simulation method. However, since these approaches cannot reflect various schedule constraints, the project managers cannot prepare for the project risks in advance of their. This paper proposed a methodology for predicting project schedule risk by identifying and enforcing the constraints which may occur in a storage tank engineering and construction project environment. We applied our approach to a storage tank construction project to validate its feasibility. By using the methodology proposed in this paper, the project schedule risk can be evaluated and predicted more accurately and practically than the PERT/CPM or Monte-Carlo simulation approach.

Meanwhile, Korea has continuously promote economic growth strategy large enterprise-oriented under stateled. As a result, the economy has grown remarkably. But domestic industry structure is unbalanced because of the proportion of medium-sized enterprises is low. To growth of small enterprises to mid-sized enterprises, balanced development of the corporate ecosystem is necessary. For this purpose, it is necessary to continue the growth of small enterprises to mid-sized enterprises. But most companies do not escape stagnation phenomenon in the growth phase while experiencing growing pains. In this paper, we will study the concept of growing pains and stagnation cause of domestic small and medium sized enterprises. Through this, classifying small and medium sized enterprises growing step and Find out the factors that lead to growing pains at each step. To overcome growing pain, we suggest plan for conquest.

Projects and managing them have always been considered a subject worth studying. The formalized form of project management is not as old as many other branches of industrial engineering, however, the progress that has been observed through innumerable reviews and research findings is extraordinary and outstanding. The matter of interest for this paper is to initiate discussion regarding simplifying the tools and methods for managing projects and begin an era of simplification by discouraging practices that make project management a harder job to perform and a tougher task to handle. Besides summarizing the definitions of “project” that have been found from reviewing the relevant text, it deliberates on revising the duties and responsibilities of project manager and proposes performance expectancy triangle. It sheds light on several factors that have been found critical to the success and failure of projects. Also, it proposes a function indicating that customer needs and demands or desires greatly affect and instigate project complexity.

This paper’s aim is to suggest the Expert System for analyzing relative combat power in ground operations. Since relative combat power analysis in terms of comparing combat power of friendly forces with one of the enemy can determine how the commander and staffs operate their unit afterwards, it requires fast and rational decision-making process. However, it has relied on manual method so far though Tactical Information Communications Network(TICN) into which numbers of applications can be loaded has been developed over a decade. The Expert System that will be built using EXSYS Corvid tool is expected to lessen error rate, provide faster decision- making, and reflect intangible combat power as well as tangible one by using an appropriate weights in analyzing relative combat power.

In this paper, we developed a power amplifier system for driving a solenoid coil. The developed system consists of three units; control unit, drive unit and coil. The control unit generates a drive signal of sinusoidal wave type, monitors an operating status of the drive unit and vibration characteristics of the coil. The drive unit drives a solenoid coil in response to command from the control unit. The coil was fabricated with the size of diameter in 1.5 cm and length in 1.7 cm using electric copper wire. 4 types of drive unit were tested with thermal and vibration characteristics of the coil using temperature sensor and 3-axis accelerometer, respectively. From the result, the developed system has many advantages with respect to simple control algorithm, small size, and operates stably up to 68 watts driving condition.

The multi-tactile stimulation system was developed to analyze cognitive function characteristics. The developed system consists of three units; control unit, drive unit and actuator that simultaneously and separately supports the vibration, heat, and pressure stimulation. From the results, vibration stimuli have a wide frequency range of 0-300 Hz comprising 20 levels, and stimulation intensity comprising 40 levels. The control temperature and stimulation temperature used for heat stimulation comprise four and eight levels, respectively. Pressure stimuli in the range of 0-600 mmHg can be stimulated comprising 12 levels. Therefore, the developed stimulator can be used for integrative tactile perception and cognition studies on various vibration, heat and pressure sensations.

Recently, the mineral resource protection policies and regulations in production countries of natural resources including rare metals are becoming more stringent. Such environment makes which market has malfunction. In other word, those are not perfect or pure market. Therefore because each market of natural resources have special or unique characters, it is difficult to forecast their market prices. In this study, we constructed several models to estimate prices of natural resources using ARIMA and their business indices. And for examples, Indium and Coal were introduced.
