        We conducted this study to investigate the quality characteristics of extruded noodles(EN) mixed with cereals. The EN were evaluated for cooking properties(weight, water absorption, volume, and turbidity), Hunter`s color values, texture characteristics, and sensory characteristics. The cooked weight, water absorption, and volume of the cooked EN were significantly decreased relative to that of control noodles, whereas the turbidity increased. Hunter`s color L- and b-value of EN were decreased compare with the control noodles, but a-value was increased. Hunter`s color L-value of cooked EN was increased, whereas a- and b-value was increased. The texture characteristics(hardness, adhesiveness, springiness, gumminess, and chewiness) of the cooked EN-2 and EN-3 were similar to the cooked control noodles. A sensory characteristics (appearance, flavor, texture during mastication, taste, and overall quality) of EN-1 were significantly decreased relative to that of control noodles, but EN-2 and EN-3 was not different to control noodles. As the results of this study indicate that extrusion processing could be used to make the EN mixed with cereals.

        Korea. Two kinds of jochung products were prepared from steamed rice(SR) and wet-milled rice flour(WRF) by rice cultivated from 2006 to 2010. It is common to add a liquefying enzyme for rice liquefaction(4 ㎖/1, 000 g rice, at 90~95℃, 3 h) and saccharogenic enzyme with malt(45 g/1, 000 g rice, at 55~57℃, 6 h). In order to evaluate the quality characteristics of jochung, producing rate, pH, solidity, reducing sugar, dextrose equivalence(D.E.), viscosity, total phenolic compound, color value and sensory evaluation were carried out. In terms of the producing rate of jochung, WRF jochung was produced about 7.4% much more than SR jochung. There was no difference in producing rate between the jochung cultivated from 2006 to 2010 rice. The pH varied from 4.86~5.66, solidity was 79.48~82.28%. Color L value was 25.82~27.92, a value of 1.28~2.81, b value were 2.98~4.33. The results of sensory evaluation for jochung, as a whole, received higher score than for the commercial product(Daesang Co., Ltd, Seoul, Korea), overall acceptability score was the highest in the 2008SR. Reducing sugar, dextrose equivalence(D.E.) and total phenolic compounds were determined to be higher WRF jochung than SR jochung, while viscosity was lower WRF jochung than SR jochung. These results are thought to be due to increased surface area of rice by milling. SR jochung manufacturd by wet-milled rice flour will increase the producing rate for jochung, thereby saving manufacturing time and costs.

        This study examined the manufacturing characteristics of sweet potato doenjang in order to gain a more efficient use of the sweet potato. Sweet potato(Sinwhangmi, Sinjami) koji(mixed sweet potato paste and soybean powder in a ratio of 1:1) was cultured with Aspergillus oryzae KCCM 11372 at 35℃ for 48 h. Sweet potato doenjang was fermented for 60 days using a sweet potato koji(20%, 45%) and steamed soybean(70%, 45%), with salt accounting for 10%. The glutamic acid content was determined to be much higher in sweet potato doenjang using Sinwhangmi koji(45%) and steamed soybean (45%), than that of general doenjang. The DPPH radical scavenging activity has the largest EC50(0.9 ㎎) in sweet potato doenjang using Sinjami potatoes 45%. Sensory evaluation indicated a good preference for sweet potato doenjang using Sinwhangmi(45%) and steamed soybean(45%).

        This study was performed to develop a therapeutic diet against aging and obesity, using Yangha(Zingiber mioga R.). Before development of a therapeutic diet, we performed cell viability assay, analysis of general composition, macrominerals and antioxidantive activities of Yangha. Based on the findings from analyzing the results, mook using Yangha powder(0~ 20%) was processed, and tested for quality characteristics such as color values, sensory evaluation and mechanical properties. The result of cell viability assay of myoga, using liver cells, revealed that within the concentration range from 500 ㎍/㎖ to 10, 000 ㎍/㎖, cell survivability increased in line with the concentration rate. Therefore, it will not be harmful to consume it as food. Regarding the normal substance of myoga, the water substance of myoga was 94%, which exceeds that of ginger and tumeric with 89% and 83%, respectively. As for crude protein, fat, carbon hydrates and ash, myoga contained less than the other two, which I think is due to the high water substance. Regarding the minerals, potassium had the highest contents among macrominerals of 234.74 ㎎%. As for the antioxidant test, hydroxy radical scavenging activity and superoxide radical scavenging activity were shown. As for the production of Yangha mook(Yangha powder levels were 0~ 20%) for quality characteristics, the more of the powder, the less the L, but the greater the a and b values. Also, for the material property, an increased amount of the powder, resulted in chewiness and springiness, but less gumminess in a correlated manner. However, there were no significant differences in the springiness and cohesiveness in relation to the powder. For the sensory test, jelly type ZM5 with 5% powder showed highest overall preference. According to the sensory test, based on the powder substance, the jelly with 5% powder showed the highest overall score, including preference.

        본 연구에서는 TiO2 입자를 얻을 수 있는 침전법을 이용하여 TiO2 입자를 제조하였다. TiO2 입자 제조시 사용되는 알콜 용매의 종류와 온도 변화 등의 매개변수가 TiO2 입자의 결정 구조, 입자의 크기 및 형태에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. TiO2 입자제조시 용매로 사용한 알콜 종류인 methyl alcohol, iso-propylalcohol, 그리고 tert-butylalcohol를 scanning electron microscope(SEM) 분석한 결과 iso-propylalcohol이 가장 좋은 결과를 가져왔다. 그리고 온도 변화를 열분석법을 사용한 결과 200℃에서 500℃까지는 아나타제 구조를 유지하였으나, 800℃에서는 루틸 구조로 전환되었다.

        다양한 화장품에 응용을 위하여 제주산 유채오일 추출물을 대상으로 PIT유화시스템을 이용한 나노에멀젼을 제조하였다. 천연 유채오일 추출물은 n-헥산을 용매로 사용하여 추출하였다. 천연유채오일 추출물은 엷은 노란색의 점성을 가진 액체이었고, 수율은 43±2.5%이었다. 산가는 2.76±0.5이었고, 비중은 0.89±0.05 이었다. 20wt%의 유채오일을 사용한 PIT-Yuche-NE의 입자크기는 50-120nm (평균입자크기: 82±5.8nm)이었고, 제타 포텐셜은 -29.5mV 이었다. 이것은 (PEG)5-30 지방산 에테르를 사용하기 때문에 열역학적으로 안정하였다. 특징적인 결과로부터 얻은 몇 개의 결론을 다음과 같이 나열하였다. 첫째, DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical)방법을 이용한 자유 라디칼 소거력을 측정하였다. PIT-Yuche-NE의 항산화력은 37.2±6.7%이었고, 비교군인 10 mg/mL의 PIT-Toco-NE(토코페롤 20wt% 나노에멀젼)은 28.8±6.5%, 10 mg/mL의 PIT-Nokcha-NE (녹차추출물 20wt% 나노에멀젼)은 29.6±7.2%이었다. 둘째, PIT-Yuche-NE의 콜라겐합성율은 148±15.2% 이었고, 동일 농도에서 비교군인 PIT-Toco-NE은 121±13.5%, PIT-Nokcha-NE은 95±12.7%이었다. 셋째, 6시간 후, Aramo-TS를 사용한 Yuche-CRM의 피부보습효과는 47±3.9% (*p-value£0.05, n=7)이었다. 반면, Toco-CRM은 30±5.2%(*p-value£0.05, n=7)이었고, Nokcha-CRM은 35±4.5%이었다. 따라서 Yuche-CRM은 다른 두 크림보다 높은 보습효과를 보였다. 최종적으로 본 연구는 화장품 산업 및 제약산업에서도 폭넓게 응용될 것으로 기대한다.

        가시광선에 감응하는 광촉매를 제조하기 위하여 TiO2에 질소(N)를 도핑하여 N-TiO2를 제조하였다. 제조한 광촉매의 결정성, 입자 형상 및 도핑 상태는 XRD, FE-SEM 및 XPS를 이용하여 조사하였다. 제조한 광촉매의 활성 평가는 메틸렌블루의 광분해로 조사하였다. 제조한 광촉매는 anatase type이었으며, pH가 높을수록 결정화도가 향상되었다. 제조한 광촉매의 입자 크기는 pH 2.0에서 5.42 nm, pH 4.7에서 5.99 nm, pH 9.0에서 7.58 nm로, 입자 크기는 pH가 증가 할수록 약간씩 증가하였다. 광촉매의 활성은 결정화도에 비례하였다. TiO2에 N를 도핑하여 제조한 N-TiO2가 가시광선 하에서도 활성을 나타냈다. TiO2에 도핑한 N는 격자 속에 존재하는 것이 아니라 표면에 존재하였다.

        We investigate the effects of redox reaction on preparation of high purity α-alumina from selectively ground aluminum dross. Preparation procedure of the α-alumina from the aluminum dross has four steps: i) selective crushing and grinding, ii) leaching process, iii) redox reaction, and iv) precipitation reaction under controlled pH. Aluminum dross supplied from a smelter was ground to separate metallic aluminum. After the separation, the recovered particles were treated with hydrochloric acid(HCl) to leach aluminum as aluminum chloride solution. Then, the aluminum chloride solution was applied to a redox reaction with hydrogen peroxide(H2O2). The pH value of the solution was controlled by addition of ammonia to obtain aluminum hydroxide and to remove other impurities. Then, the obtained aluminum hydroxide was dried at 60˚C and heat-treated at 1300˚C to form α-alumina. Aluminum dross was found to contain a complex mixture of aluminum metal, aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride, and spinel compounds. Regardless of introduction of the redox reaction, both of the sintered products are composed mainly of α-alumina. There were fewer impurities in the solution subject to the redox reaction than there were in the solution that was not subject to the redox reaction. The impurities were precipitated by pH control with ammonia solution, and then removed. We can obtain aluminum hydroxide with high purity through control of pH after the redox reaction. Thus, pH control brings a synthesis of α-alumina with fewer impurities after the redox reaction. Consequently, high purity α-alumina from aluminum dross can be fabricated through the process by redox reaction.

        작은 고체 분체들은 피커링 유화 체계에서 안정화제로 작용하는 것은 이미 알려진 사실이다. 이 연구에서 우리는 알킬실란 처리 TiO2와 n-헥실알코올, 수계로 안정한 피커링 에멀젼을 제조하였다. TiO2 입자에 의해 안정화된 피커링 에멀젼을 제조하기 위한 최적의 조건은 TiO2 입자의 양과 수상/유상의 비에 의해 결정된다. 피커링 에멀젼의 형태는 물과 n-헥실알코올에 대한 입자들의 젖음성에 의존된다. 피커링 에멀젼은 TiO2가 5.00 wt%, 오일과 수상의 비가 3 : 7인 경우에 가장 안정하였다. 피커링 에멀젼을 형판으로 하여 무기 전조체를 졸-겔 공정에 의해 다공성 분체들이 합성되었다. 합성된 다공성 분체들은 광학 현미경, SEM, BET, XRD 및 EDS에 의해 확인되었다.

        본 연구는 수수× 수수 교잡종의 톤백 및 소포장 사일리지의 부위에 따른 사료가치 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 천안에위치한 국립축산과학원 자원개발부에서 수행되었다. 수수× 수수 교잡종 SS405는 5월 초순에파종한 다음 출수기에 수확하여 사일리지로 조제하였다. 톤백 사일리지의 조단백질 함량은소포장 사일리지에 비해 약간 감소되었으나 통계적인 차이는 보이지 않았다. 그러나 NDF 및TDN 함량에서는 톤백과 소포장 사일리지 사이에 유의적인 차이가 나타났다(p<0.05). 수수×수수 교잡종의 톤백 및 소포장 사일리지는 젖산균의 첨가유무에 상관없이 비슷한 함량을 보였으며 사일리지 부위별 조단백질, NDF, ADF및 TDN 함량도 차이를 보이지 않았다. 사일리지 부위별 조단백질, NDF, ADF, TDN 함량 및in vitro 건물소화율에서는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 톤백 곤포사일리지의 젖산 함량은 소포장사일리지보다 감소하였으나 유의적인 차이는나타나지 않았다. 그러나 톤백 곤포사일리지의초산 함량은 소포장 사일리지보다 유의적으로감소하였다(p<0.05). 또한 사일리지 부위별 젖산, 초산 및 낙산 함량은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 수수×수수 교잡종 소포장 및 톤백 사일리지의 부위별 사료가치와 품질은 부위에 따라 영향을 받지 않았다.

        Cryopreservation induces sublethal damage to the spermatozoa, which leads to their reduced fertile life. This study was designed to determine effect of glycerol and ethylene glycol as cryoprotectant in extender on improve the freezability of Jeju horse semen. The semen was cryopreserved with glucose-EDTA extender containing each 5% glycerol, 5% ethylene glycol, 8% glycerol or 8% ethylene glycol, respectively. Post-thawed sperm were evaluated motility, viability, Membrane integrity and acrosome integrity. Post-thawed sperm motility were not significantly differences among treatments. However, sperm viability were significantly higher (p<0.05) in 8% glycerol (39.85% ±11.41) than in 5% glycerol treatment (18.08%±1.61). In membrane integrity, swelling sperm ratio was significantly higher (p<0.05) in 8% glycerol (34.12%±11.02) than other treatments. In the percentage of capacitated sperm assessed by CTC staining, F pattern was significantly higher in 8% ethylene glycol than 5% glycerol and 5% ethylene glycol (p<0.05). B pattern ratio was significantly increased in 5% ethylene glycol compared with 8% glcerol and 8% ethylene glycol (p<0.05). Moreover, 8% ethylene glycol treatment was significantly decreased AR pattern ratio compared with other treatments (p<0.05). It is concluded that treatment of 8% glycerol was improved the sperm viability and 8% ethylene glycol was improved the sperm ascrosome integrity after thawing. However, they were not significantly difference between 8% glycerol and 8% ethylene glycol on post-thawed sperm viability. Therefore, 8% ethylene glycol was more effective sperm cryoprotectant than 8% glycerol in Jeju Horse.

        관비재배 및 수경재배시 비료를 녹일 때 소요되는 시간과 노동력을 절감하고, 작업의 안전성 확보와 자동화를 가능하게 할 수 있는 장치의 개발을 위해 본 실험을 실시하였다. 실험은 세 종류로 수행되었다. 먼저, 효과적인 비료용해 방법을 구명하기 위해 수중펌프를 양액 통 속에 두고 양액 통의 입구에 삼베포를 깐 거름망을 설치하여 물을 스프레이하여 비료를 녹이는 방법(Spray), 수중프로펠러를 이용하는 방법(Propeller), 수중펌프를 양액 통 속에 넣어 물의 흐름을 만들어 주는 방법(Submerged), 에어컴프레서를 이용하여 양액 통 속에 공기흐름을 만들어 비료를 용해하는 방법(Airflow) 등 4개의 처리를 두고 실험하였다. Spray 처리에서 가장 시간이 짧게 소요되는 것으로 조사되었으나 농가가 실제로 적용하는데 어려움이 있어서, Spray 처리 다음으로 비료를 녹이는 시간이 짧고, 노동력을 절감할 수 있으며 양액제조 과정을 자동화 하는 것이 용이할 것으로 사료되는 Airflow 처리를 선택하였다. 두 번째 실험에서는 Airflow 처리에서 사용한 재질과 분지관수를 개선한 6지관 및 8지관 장치를 제작하여 비교 실험했는데, 6지관 장치가 비료용해시간이 짧고, 양액탱크의 입구 크기에 관계없이 사용이 가능하며, 제작이 용이하여 가장 효과적인 장치로 판단되었다. 세 번째 실험에서는 개발된 6지관 장치를 이용하여 비료를 용해하는데 소요되는 시간을 조사하여 경제성을 분석하였는데, 농가에서 수중펌프를 이용하여 비료를 용해하는 방법보다 시간은 1/8배 절약할 수 있으며 경제성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 KNO3, Ca(NO3)2·4H2O, Fe-EDTA 등의 용해특성을 조사했다.

        This study was designed to determine whether low-density lipoporoteins (LDL) extracted from egg yolk in extender improve the function of Korean Jeju Black Bull semen. The semen was cryopreserved with 5% ethylene glycol (EG) or 7% glycerol (G) extenders containing 10% egg yolk (EY), 4% LDL and 5% EY or 8% LDL. Frozen-thawed sperm were evaluated sperm motility, viability, membrane integrity and acrosome integrity. Post-thawed sperm motility has been significantly higher (p<0.05) in 4% LDL + 5% EY (; EG and ; 7% G) than 8% LDL (; EG and ;G). Treatment of 4% LDL + 5% EY-EG () has been significantly improved sperm viability compared to other treatments except 10% EY - EG. Moreover, in membrane integrity, swollen sperm ratio has been only significantly increased (p<0.05) in 4% LDL + 5% EY - EG () among all treatments. In assess to detect acrosome integrity, especially, AR pattern ratio has been significantly decreased (p<0.05) in 4% LDL + 5% EY - EG among all treatments. In sperm viability as time passes, between 4% LDL + 5% EY and 10% EY, there was no significant difference, but 8% LDL was significantly decreased sperm viability in EG (1 and 2 hrs) and G (30 min, 1, 2, 5 and 12 hrs) extender. However, there were no significant differences among all treatments except 8% LDL-G in sperm membrane integrity. 8% LDL-G has been significantly decreased swollen sperm ratio at 5 hrs after thawed. It is concluded from these results that 4% LDL + 5% EY to the freezing extender showed more positive effect on the frozen-thawed spermatozoa in Korean Jeju Black bull.

        This study was designed to determine whether low-density lipoproteins (LDL) from egg yolk and taurine, hypotaurine and trehalose as antioxidant in extender improve the freezability and fertility of Korean Jeju Black Bull semen. The semen was cryopreserved with tris egg yolk extenders containing 7% glycerol and treated 4% LDL, 20 mM taurine, hypotaurine and trehalose. Frozen-thawed sperm were evaluated motility, viability, membrane, and acrosome integrity and sperm penetration ability. The results were compared to semen cryopreserved in tris egg yolk extender only as control. Frozen-thawed semen evaluation cleary indicated that the addition of LDL and LDL-antioxidants (taurine, hypotaurine and trehalose) combination were significantly improved (p<0.05) the viability (%; with staining test using eosin-Y) compared to control spermatozoa. Also, in membrane integrity (%; with supravital hypo-osmotic swelling test), not only LDL-antioxiants combination but also LDL were significantly increased (p<0.05) the swelled sperm using HOST compared to control. Sperm acrosome integrity state was classified by CTC (chlortetracycline) staining test. F pattern was significantly increased in LDL-antioxidant combination than control (p<0.05) and B pattern was not significantly differences among all treatments and control. However, AR pattern was significantly decreased in LDL-antioxidants combination than control (p<0.05). Pronucleus formation and sperm penetration index (SFI) were significantly increased in LDL and LDL-antioxidants combination than control (p<0.05). Especially, LDL-taurine significantly improved pronucleus fomation and SFI than LDL (p<0.05). It was concluded that LDL and LDL-antioxidants in extender improved the freezability and fertility of Korean Jeju Black bull spermatozoa.

        The present study investigated the concentration of gaseous odor emitted from paint manufacturing facilities and the cases of improvement for odor emission reduction. It was found that the companies located in odor management district observed the odor emission standard more than the companies located in other local industrial complex. We ascribed the reason to the continuous crackdown by local government and voluntary efforts of each companies. Finally, we described the improvement cases of process for odor emission reduction.
