So obvious are T. S. Eliot’s conservative tendencies that the only valid question about his politics seems to be how conservative he was. He declared his own position so in religious, political and literary sides, and most of his literary works support this position quite positively. But The Waste Land and his other early works carry some elements which suggest the poet’s sympathy to liberal causes. His well-known literary theories and techniques including ‘objective correlative,’ ‘union of sensibility,’ and ‘collage’ also reflect Eliot’s belief in reason. This advocacy of reason is parallel with liberal and democratic tenets against which Eliot showed overt abhorrence. Psychologically Eliot can be seen to be on the stage of alienation around the time of the composition of his early works including The Waste Land. One is necessarily subject to the drive to move away, at a stage of growth, from the mother or the world one used to belong to in one’s initial phase of life. Eliot gives in to the transcendental in Four Quartets and Ash-Wednesday, suggesting he has returned to the dominance of the mother in infancy. It is questionable how Eliot looked at the difficulties of the underprivileged then suffering from the world order he supported with his increasingly conservative outlooks.

유니버설디자인의 개념이 적용되었으리라는 가정 하에 한일월드컵이 개최되었던 한국과 일본의 월드컵 스타디움의 시설과 스포츠의 진흥방안을 연구하였다. 일본의 경우에는 스타디움에 접근하기 위한 가장 인접한 지하철역과 스타디움의 연결 부분이 보도, 슬로프 카, 엘리베이터, 에스컬레이터 등 일반인과 장애인이 신체적 조건에 따라 선택하여 이용할 수 있게 되어있다. 한국의 경우는 접근성에는 문제가 있지만 내부 시설에서 장애인석과 일반인석을 혼용 배치한 것은 일본의 시설보다 더욱 유니버설디자인의 접목이 뛰어나다고 평가할 수 있다. 이와 같은 물리적인 접근성외에 정보적 접근성도 높여야할 것이다. 예를 들면 필담기, 커뮤니케이션보드, 점자지도 등을 배치하거나 미리 정보를 이용자에게 제공하여 사전 인지가 가능하도록 하는 사례는 우리가 하루빨리 도입해야할 사례로 파악되었다.

다문화 이주여성들이 선호하는 원예활동 및 원예 식물에 대한 이해와 다문화 이주여성들의 선호하는 직업에 대한 인식을 기반으로 하여 원예활동 중에서도 여성 대상의 취업활동으로서의 가능성이 높은 화훼장식 활동을 중심으로 15회기의 원예활동 프로그램을 실시하였고 이에 따른 직업관 및 진로 성숙도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 본 연구를 실시하였다. 실내에서 식물 기르기, 실외에서 식물 기르기, 꽃장식 및 공예활동, 식물을 이용한 요리, 식물이 있는 공간 산책 및 공부 등의 5가지 원예활동 영역에서 모두 취업교육을 받은 집단이 그렇지 않은 집단에 비하여 선호하는 경향을 나타내었으며 통계적인 유의성이 있게 큰 차이를 나타낸 항목은 식물이 있는 공간 산책 및 공부로 나타나 취업교육과 원예활동 선호도에 관련성이 있는 것으로 볼 수 있었다. 선호하는 원예식물을 조사한 결과, 일이년초가 가장 높아, 원산지가 열대 및 아열대 기후에 속하는 식물을 선호하는 경향이 높은 것을 통해 이전 본국에서 보았거나 길러본 경험이 있는 식물들을 선호하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 15회기의 원예장식 프로그램구성에 연계 하였다. 화훼장식 분야에서 필요로 하는 직업기술을 포함한 원예활동 프로그램을 통하여 이주여성들의 직업관에 있어 내적 영역에서는 지적자극, 경영관리 부분에서 큰 변화를 나타낸 것을 알 수 있었으며 외적영역에서는 독립성 분야에서 큰 변화를 볼 수 있었다. 진로성숙도에 있어서는 확신성, 목적성, 준비성, 결정성 영역에서도 변화를 보였으나 독립성영역에서 가장 큰 변화를 볼 수 있었다. 이를 통해 화훼장식에 중점을 둔 원예활동이 다문화 이주여성의 직업관 및 진로성숙도에 긍정적인 변화를 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 이러한 진로성숙도와 직업관에 긍정적인 연구결과를 토대로 향후 더욱 본격적인 원예활동 진로 프로그램을 구상하는 추후 연구결과가 필요할 것이다.

This research is focus on the analysis of bridge image and preference. In this study, 3 types of bridge with arch bridge, cable stayed bridge, and suspension bridge, 4 prospect points named A, B, C, and D will be simulated in one scene for final analysis of bridge image and preference.On prospect point A, higher evaluation is received among the arch bridge. In addition, for cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge, the Higher evaluation is received among the most at the arch bridge on prospect point B. At the on prospect point C, higher evaluation is received among the most cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge compared with arch bridge. At the on prospect point D, lower evaluation is received among the cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge compared with arch bridge. The highest average total preference is received for cable stayed bridge. And, The lowest average total preference is received for arch bridge. Cable stayed bridge is suitable for the Baegya Bridge than arch bridge in the Landscape point. In conclusion, the preference for one bridge is not the same at different prospect points through above research.

ATP-binding cassette (ABC) proteins comprise a large superfamily and play as key in the physiology and development of plants but it is highly likely that more functions for members of this interesting family are still in dark. Thus systematic analysis for this family will be helpful to design effective experimental plans for functional analysis of each of ABC family in rice. To do this, we performed phylogenomic analysis of integrating anatomy and stress meta-profiling data based on a large collection of rice affymetrix array data which provide useful clues to study functions of ABC transporter family in rice in term of anatomy and stress response. Then, we processed Significance analysis for Microarray to identify ABC transporters involved in water stress such as drought and salt. Subsequently, we identified 23 genes showing significant upregulation or downregulation by both drought and salt. Finally, we developed the interaction network mediated by six of them and then integrated diverse data such as co-expression patterns, putative functions and sub-cellular localization to the network and the network was further refined based on coexpression patterns in response to drought and salt stresses. Our analysis will provide molecular basis to study diverse biological phenomena mediated by ABC family in rice, a major model crop plant.

By searching diverse databases, we expanded the number of rice aquaporin family from 33 to 37 genes. After that, the phylogenomic data integrating anatomical expression patterns consisting of 1150 affymetrix arrays and 209 Agilent 44K arrays, and stress responsible expression patterns were constructed and analyzed. The systemic overview of gene expression for rice aquaporin family is used to evaluate functional redundancy within this family and identify suitable target genes in response to water stress. Functional gene network mediated by water stress relating aquaporin genes also suggested a useful platform for further researches.

The 1830s was a crucial decade within the shifting context of American religious culture in the nineteenth century. This changing context had an influence on the way religious conversion was viewed, especially on the Frontier. One significant religious leader in this period was Alexander Campbell (1788-1866). In an attempt to position himself in relation to both Calvinist and Arminian theologies, Campbell was further required to respond to the growing tide of both revivalism and restoration in America. In the end, with the rise and spread of both revivalism and Joseph Smith and the Latter-day Saints on the American frontier, Campbell offered his own morphology of religious conversion. Based upon his reading of the Scriptures, he proposed “immersion” as the spiritual act that procures religious conversion in the individual. Campbell’s The Christian System (1839) offers a full reading of his view of religious conversion, being the most systematic of his written theological statements. Within the pages of The Christian System, Campbell develops an apologia for religious experience, one that he identifies as biblical and at the same time avoids two perceived extremes: “Enthusiasm” (revivalism) and “delusion” (Campbell’s response to Joseph Smith and the Latter-day Saints).

In spite of numerous theoretical studies on sentential negation in Korean (an V for short form negation and V-ci anh for long form negation) in the literature, much of the discussion has focused on its abstract features, relying on the researcher`s intuition or introspective judgment of limited sources. This paper presents an empirical observation by investigating the actual distribu- tion of sentential negation in corpus, based on the Sejong Spoken Corpus. Two analyses of sentential negation were done: frequency analysis and compatibility with predicate types. The frequency analysis revealed that long form negation was used more often than short form negation. The analysis in terms of compatibility with predicate types showed that long form negation appeared more frequently with Sino-Korean predicates and with adjectival predicates than short form negation. The findings were discussed in relation to register variation and discourse strategies.

This essay examines the seventeenth century New England Congregationalists’ doctrine of the “church covenant” and its relationship with the “half-way covenant.” According to Perry Miller, there is a radical discontinuity between them. Miller points out three major differences. First, the half-way covenant introduced a new internal/external distinction into the early fathers’ church covenant, while the latter had considered their church covenant as a visible form of the internal covenant of grace. Second, accordingly, the defenders of the half-way covenant “drastically separated” the church covenant from the covenant of grace. As a result, the church covenant was “no longer viewed as a direct manifestation of spiritual conversion.” Third, there was a generation gap: While the old generation opposed the principle of the half-way covenant, the young generation tended to defend it. Miller shared the early seventeenth century critics’ view of the church covenant--as shown in Samuel Rutherford's polemical works against New England Congregationalism. Rutherford, for example, tended to identify Thomas Hooker’s concept of the church covenant with the Separatists’ view of it which was deeply rooted in their “pure church” ecclesiology. Both Rutherford’s and Miller’s thesis, however, represent a one-sided view. Hooker and his brethren present enough counter-evidence to show that the principle of the half-way covenant should be compatible with the early doctrine of the church covenant: First, the internal/external distinction does not belong to a later development because it was a basic feature for Hooker’s doctrine of the church covenant. Hooker clearly sees his church covenant as an external--not internal--covenant. Second, Hooker and his brethren make a significant distinction between the invisible/inward covenant of grace and the visible/outward covenant of grace. The latter, Hooker argues, is given for the visible church--either an explicit or an implicit form of church covenant. Third, Hooker’s church covenant does not nullify the traditional distinction of the visible/invisible church. On the contrary, it must preserve it. Finally, unlike Miller’s thought, the majority of the early Congregationalists--even in the 1630s--actually favored the principle of the half-way covenant. The above facts must account for the reason why the defenders of the half-way covenant could claim that they had the fathers of Congregationalism (including Hooker) on their side. In short, the complex reality demands that we should seek a more balanced approach to the issue of continuity/discontinuity between the church covenant and the half-way covenant.

이 연구는 비디오게임에서 입력기의 사실성과 시점이 게임이용자에 미치는 심리적 영향을 알아보았다. 먼저, 피험자들에게 레이싱 게임을 선택하여 사실적인 핸들형 입력기와 덜 사실적인 게임패드 중 하나를 제공하고 1인칭 시점과 3인칭 시점을 모두 이용하게 한 후 그 효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과 입력기의 사실성과 시점의 차이에 따라 피험자의 각성, 동일시 정도, 관여도에 차이가 있음이 드러났다. 얻어진 결과들의 함의와 관련논의가 제시되었다.

아급성기 발목염좌 환자의 진단에 임상에서 주로 이용되는 방법으로 내.외반 스트레스 검사(ankle stress-varus, valgus) 및 전방 당김 검사(anterior-draw)와 MRI 검사에 의한 연부 조직과 근육, 인대의 질환이 진단가치가 높다라 는 관점에서 주로 이용하고 있다. 진단적 가치에 대한 부분의 차이점은 적으나 MRI 검사의 경우 시간적 경제적 부담이 큰 만큼 두 가지의 대표적 검사를 비교 하여 (특정 병원의 환자 그룹을 대상으로 연구를 진행) 단순방사선 검사에 의 한 족근골 질환의 진단이 MRI 검사에 비하여 유용성과 효율성이 낮지 않다는 결과를 도출 할 수 있었다.

게임세대를 위한 효과적인 교육방법으로 게임을 통한 학습이 주목을 받고 있다. 교육용 게임은 학습 스토리 전달을 위해, 게임화면에서 객관적 시점인 전지적인 뷰가 추가적으로 필요하다. 이 전지적인 뷰는 우수한 실시간 가독성과 학습내용에 대한 전체적이고 자세한 정보들을 체계적으로 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 학습스토리텔링을 위해 필요한 전지적인 뷰로서 학습맵을 제안하였다. 제안하는 학습맵은 학습내용을 전지적으로 보여주기 위해, 지역별 학습맵, 주제별 학습맵, 그리고 진행별 학습맵으로 구성되어 있다. 우수한 실시간 가독성을 위하여, 제안하는 학습맵은 비주얼 다이어그램들로 표시된다. 제안한 학습맵은 게임미니맵을 사용하는 모든 교육용게임에 적용할 수 있다.

This study is caused by the argument of Wendy Meyer, who argues that to characterize Chrysostom as a “lover of the poor” is to misunderstand him against the argument of Peter Brown. She insists that it is more accurate to call him not “champion of the poor,” but “champion of the voluntary poverty.” But the author is not to focus on the contrast argument of above two scholars but to investigate their argument from view point of the monk-bishop leadership. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to present how the leadership of monk-bishop leadership is forming and figuring out. In fact, “the lover of voluntary poverty” and “the lover of the poor” seems to have the deep gap, which could not overcome. Nevertheless, the new leadership, which evolves above two strange factors, is emerging in the name of monk-bishop leadership in late Antiquity. By focussing on life, work and time of John Chrysostom, this investigation will, portray the transitions of how “the lover of voluntary poverty” and “the lover of the poor” are connecting. John Chrysostom (d.407) lived the monastic life for the several years in the mountain. And he was the presbyter and bishop of Antioch and the Bishop of Constantinople. He is very strong position. in its examination of late-antique poverty. He had an enduring influence on his communities with abundant references to the poor and/or almsgiving to be found in his 823 homilies, 242 letters and fourteen treatises. Particulary, in studying of church and state in late Antiquity, this work has great depts on the study of Peter Brown.

올해는 한·일합병 100주년이 되는 해이기도 하나 일본정부는 근래 다시 한 번 독도(竹島)가 일본의 영토라고 주장하여 한·일 지식인의 분개를 야기하였다. 우리는 번영되고 조화로운 동아구역환경을 건축하기 위하여 일본이 추구했던 ‘동아시아공동체’ 구상과 일본의 역사관에 대해 다시 살펴보는 것이 매우 필요하다.한·중·일 세 나라는 지리상으로 상호 인접해 있는 국가로서 또한 예로부터 문화전통이 서로 융합되어 왔다. 각자의 경제발전과 경제 상호 보완성의 존재는 합작을 강화하는데 요구를 제출하고 또한 가능성을 제공하였다. 지역경제의 진일보 발전에 따라 중국과 한국，일본의 경제는 이미 한데 얽혀 있고 한·중·일 경제 발전은 서로 떨어져서는 안 되는 정도에까지 도달하였고 서로간의 의존성은 날이 갈수록 선명해졌다. 한·중·일의 이러한 형세 하에 국제경 쟁력을 제고하기 위하여 반드시 일종의 구역 경제일체화 조직을 건립하여야 한다. 한·중·일의 자유무역구의 건립은 세계에서 인구가 제일 많은 발전도상 국가와 발달한 국가간의 연합에 의해 만든 자유무역구이다. 이 지구는 곧 치열한 국제경쟁에서 유리한 지위에 처하게 될 것이고 자유무역구는 세 나라에 더욱 큰 이익을 가져다 줄 것이며，‘삼영(三盧)’의 국면이 나타나게 된다. 한마디로 말해서 새로운 동북아공동체의 건립은 여기에 속한 모든 나라가 배척 성을 극복하고 상호 이해를 확대하며，공동한 생존 환경을 만들어 가는 것이다.

면우 곽종석은 한주 이진상의 수제자로 寒洲學派를 대표하는 학자였다. 그는 당시에 이단으로 배척받던 한주의 성리설을 수용하였고, 그가 한주에게 執贄의 禮로 올린 󰡔지의록󰡕은 한주 성리설의 입문서가 되어 경상우도의 신진 학자들 사이에 두루 읽혀 한주학파의 형성 결정적인 역할을 하였다. 면우는 󰡔지의록󰡕에 대한 한주의 답변 중에서 유독 氣質之性 한 조목에 대해 반론을 제기하여 한주와 논변하였다. 喜怒哀樂의 감정이 일어나기 전인 未發 상태에서 기질이 있느냐 없느냐, 기질의 개념이 들어갈 수 있느냐 없느냐의 문 제를 가지고 논변을 전개한 것이다. 면우는 관점을 달리하는 논거를 두루 제시 하며 기질지성을 희노애락 미발의 상태에서의 性의 개념에 넣어야 한다고 주장 했고, 한주는 자신이 朱子의 晩年定論이라 믿는 설에만 의거하여 기질지성은 性의 개념이 아님을 강조했다. 즉 면우는 기질은 성과 함께 태어날 때부터 형성 되는 것이니, 기질에 의해 제약된 성이라 할 때 ‘기질에 의해 제약된’까지도 성 의 개념에 넣어야 한다고 생각했고, 한주는 성의 時分인 미발에서는 氣가 작용 하지 않고 성의 본체만 온전히 드러나므로 기질을 성의 개념에 넣을 수 없다고 생각했다. 면우는 실상을 무시할 수 없다고 생각했고 한주는 개념 정립을 중시 했다고도 할 수 있다. 또한 면우는 기질지성에 대한 기존 학설들을 무시할 수 없다고 생각했고, 한 주는 어디까지나 자신이 고증한 주자와 퇴계의 만년정설만을 논거로 삼았다. 면우는 ‘미발 상태에서 기질이 없지는 않지만 기질을 말할 필요는 없다’ 한 한 주의 결론을 받아들였다. 그러나 그렇다고 하여 면우가 기질지성에 관한 기존 학설의 개념들을 다 부정한 것은 아니다. 면우는 미발을 性의 상태로 규정, 기 질이란 개념을 용납하지 않는 한주의 학설을 수용하면서 여러 관점에서 기질지 성의 실상과 개념을 함께 보아야 한다고 생각했다. 면우의 이러한 학문 성향이 그 후에 나오는 그의 학설에 어떻게 반영되는지 살펴보는 것은 추후의 과제로 남겨둔다. 이 문제는 스승인 한주의 학설과 대체에서 다를 수 없는 면우의 학설 의 성격을 규명하는 데에도 중요한 관건이 될 것이다.

후지신앙(富士信仰)은 에도(江戶)시대 후기에 에도와 관동(關東)지역에 있었 던 대표적인 서민신앙이라고 할 수 있다. 후지강(富士講)의 원류가 된 후지신앙 은 修驗道系의 廻國修行者였던 角行藤佛을 시조로 전개됐다. 본 논문에서는 寬保 2년(1742) 9월부터 享和 2년(1802) 7월까지 있었던 후 지강 단속령을 검토하였다. 그리고 막부의 이러한 단속 정책이 후지신앙의 어 떠한 실태를 반영한 것인가? 후지산 北口師職에게는 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는가? 등을 살펴보았다.

This study examines the impact of early Jae Jung Won’s works to the Korean society in early Korean mission era. Because Jae Jung Won founded by Korean government and American missionary. Allen was a first Western mordern hospital in Korea. Medical works had significant meanings on the Korean mission. Mordern medical works of American missionaries in Korea included the spirit of Christianity which was a mental ground of Western civilization and medicine. Because Korean government did not permit the freedom of Christian mission except medicine and education in early Korean mission era, Jae Jung Won had important role of Christian mission at that time. In fact, through the Western medical cure of Allen for Young-ik Min, a high official in the government in 1884, Korean government felt kindly toward American missionaries and Western medicine. There are several meanings of the early Jae Jung Won’s works from the missionary point of view. First, due to the role of Jae Jung Won, images of Protestant in Korea get better. And the influence of Protestant became larger as time goes by. Secondly, Jae Jung Won had a role of ecumeical works through the cooperation of denominations and missionaries for Korean mission. Thirdly, foreign missionaries through activities of Jae Jung Won performed their functions most effectively at that time. Taking care of patients itself was to be a mission, and to introduce Christian love to the Koreans. Fourthly, another meaning of early Jae Jung Won’s works to the Korean society was to educate Christian talents to the Korean youth through the education of medicine. Fifthly, Jae Jung Won’s works in early era to the Korean society was to the gate of civilization for the Koreans like campaigns for enlightenment and hygiene. Therefore Western mordern medical works with the center of Jae Jung Won from 1880’s to 1890’s were effective mission in Korea.
