        본 연구의 목적은 벼메뚜기(Oxya chinensis sinuosa) 분말 섭취가 유산소성 운동훈련(트레드밀 달리기)의 병행 유무에 의해 ICR 생쥐의 에 너지 대사를 증가시키는지를 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 28 마리의 ICR 생쥐를 보통식 대조군(CON), 보통식 대조군 으로서 운동훈련 병행군(COEX), 벼메뚜기 분말이 혼합된 사료 섭취군(GH), 그리고 벼메뚜기 분말이 혼합된 사료를 섭취함과 동시에 운동훈련 을 병행군(GHEX)으로 구분하였다. 벼메뚜기 분말 사료섭취 및 운동은 6주간 진행하였다. 체중증가율은 유의하지 않았다. 지방량은 GH와 GHEX에서 유의하게 감소하였다. 혈중 glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase와 glutamic pyruvic transaminase 수준은 처치 집단간 변화가 없었다. 제2형 당수송체 및 제4형 당수송체는 처치 집단간 유의한 차이가 없었다. GHEX의 fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 단백질 발현량이 가장 높았다. AMP-activated protein kinase 단백질 수준은 GHEX에서 유의하게 증가하였다. Glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta 단백질 발현량은 GHEX가 CON과 비교할 때 감소하였다. 이러한 결과들은 벼메뚜기 분말을 섭취하면서 지구성 운동훈련을 하는 경우에 에너지 대사에 영향을 준다는 것을 제시하고 있다.

        본 연구에서는 메타분석을 통하여 heterofermentative과 homofermentative LAB가 사일리지의 품질과 호기적 안정성에 대한 효과를 분석하였다. 일련의 분석결과 접종균으로 사용된 젖산균의 종류에 따라서 사일리지의 품질이 다르게 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 호기적 안정성에 있어서 heterofermentative LAB의 사용이 매우 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구결과는 사일리지의 제조 목적 및 사용방법에 따라서 접종균주를 다르게 선발하여야 하며, 사용방법에 따라서 사일리지 내 유기산 조성을 변화시킬 수 있는 발효조건이 필요함을 시사하고 있고, 또한 보다 정밀한 사일리지 발효기술에 대한 기초자료를 제공한다.

        The performance of the new aerobic digestion system combined with inorganic sludge separation unit and sludge solubilization unit, CaviTec II, is evaluated. Anaerobic digester effluent sludge is used for feed sludge of CaviTec II system. By addition of CaviTec II, the amount of cake generated is reduced by 27%, and the soluble nitrogen is reduced by 92%.

        본 연구는 돈육 중의 후지육을 이용하여 천연 향신료인 생강 및 인삼 분말을 첨가비율별로 처리(무처리 대조구, T1구(A-생강 분말 0.1% 첨가, B-인삼 분말 0.1% 첨가), T2구(A-생강 분말 0.2% 첨가, B-인삼 분말 0.2% 첨가), T3구(A-생강 분말 0.3% 첨가, B-인삼 분말 0.3% 첨가)하여 돈육포를 제조한 후, 저장기간에 따른 VBN, 미생물 수 및 관능평가에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 돈육포의 VBN 함량은 대조구와 처리구간에서는 통계적인 유의차가 나타내었고(p<0.01), 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 VBN 함량과 총 세균수 및 대장균 수도 점차 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 처리구에 상관없이 생강 분말 첨가군(A)이 인삼 분말 첨가군(B)군보다 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다(p<0.01). 돈육포의 관능평가의 경우, 육색과 맛은 처리구에 상관없이 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 저장 2주째에 가장 높아 통계적인 유의차가 나타났고(p<0.05), 그 이후는 서서히 낮아졌다. 특히 육색의 경우, T1구의 A군이 다른 처리구보다 크게 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과로 볼 때 돈육포 제조 시 생강분말 첨가는 미생물의 증식 억제에 다소 영향을 미치며, 육포제조 후 2주째에 가장 맛이 좋은 것으로 판단된다.

        The Goal of this study was to assess the effect of aerobic exercise on cognitive function of elderly people. The participants' cognitive functions were measured before exercise. Exercise was practiced three times a week for nine weeks. The aerobic exercises consisted of warm-up exercises for five minutes followed by cycling for 30 minutes. The exercise intensity was set to 65%~75% of the intensity for the maximum heart rate(220-age). The control group did not perform any exercises. The subjects' cognitive functions were measured nine weeks later. In the aerobic exercise group, between before and after the exercises, significant increases appeared in total K-MMSE scores and scores of some sub items comprising memory registration, concentration and calculation abilities but not in other items. In the control group, no significant differences appeared in any items between before and after the experiment. In a comparison between the aerobic exercise group and the control group, significant differences appeared in total K-MMSE scores and scores of two sub items comprising concentration and calculation abilities but not in other items(p<.05). Aerobic exercises were effective in the improvement of cognitive functions and among sub items of cognitive functions, concentration and calculating abilities were improved. Aerobic exercises performed by elderly persons are considered to be effective in improving cognitive functions.

        The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between anaerobic・aerobic exercise intensity and hand steadiness. Based on physiological analysis the conceptual model explaining that both increased anaerobic and aerobic exercise intensity reduce hand steadiness is suggested, which is verified through the experiment with 20 subjects. Hand steadiness is the critical contributor to having an effect on the job performance just as in the rifle shooting and archery in sports, and the microscope-related job requiring hand steadiness in industries, and so forth. In anaerobic exercise experiment the hand steadiness is measured through hand steadiness tester having 9 different diameter holes after each subject exerts 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of maximum back strength measured by back muscle dynamometer. In aerobic exercise condition after they do jumping jack, it is evaluated at each time heart rate reaches 115%, 130%, and 145% of reference heart rate measured in no exercise. The findings are that an increased intensity in both types of exercises tend to decrease hand steadiness, but hand steadiness at 25% of maximum back strength and 115% of reference heart rate is rather higher than at no exercise. Just as the association between cognitive stress and job performance has upside-down U form, so does the relation of physical loading to hand steadiness, which means that a little exercise has a tendency to improve hand steadiness compared to one in no exercise condition .

        We compared between an automated most-probable-number technique TEMPO®TVC and traditional plating methods PetrifilmTM for estimating populations of total aerobic bacteria in various livestock products. 257 samples randomly selected in local retail stores and 87 samples inoculated with E. coli ATCC 25922, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 12868 were tested in this study. The degree of agreement was estimated according to the CCFRA (Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association Group) Guideline 29 and the agreement indicates the difference of two kinds methods is lower than 1 log base 10(log10). The samples of hams, jerky products, ground meat products, milks, ice creams, infant formulas, and egg heat formed products were showed above 95% in the agreement of methods. In contrast, proportion of agreement on meat extract products, cheeses and sausages were 93.1%, 92.1%, 89.1%, respectively. One press ham and five sausages containing spice and seasoning, two pork cutlets containing spice and bread crumbs, two meat extract product and two natural cheeses and one processing cheese with a high fat content, and one ice cream containing chocolate of all samples showed the discrepancy. Our result suggest that TEMPO®TVC system is efficient to analyses total aerobic bacteria to compare manual method in time-consuming and laborious process except livestock products having limit of detection.

        This study investigated the influences of the addition of lactic acid bacteria inoculants and an enzyme during the crush processing of com silage on the nutritive value, nutrient intake and aerobic deterioration. The fermentation quality of the silages showed that although all of the silages were of good quality, the V-score of U was 91.0 points and significantly lower than those of other silages (P<0.01). On the chemical composition of silages, the crude protein concentration of U was 7.1%DM and significantly lower than those of other silages (P<0.05). On the digestibility, the nutritive value and nutrient intake did not significantly differ among the silages examined. After silo opening, a rapid rise in heat was seen from the 6th after opening for 11C38 and SLA, and from the 9th in U and SL, respectively.

        This study was designed to compare the effectiveness and applicability of the HApS (Hazard Analysis process System; HUKO, Seoul, Korea) based on Petrifilm^(TM)(3M, St. Paul, MN, USA) with the AOAC (the Association of Official Analytical Chemists) standard total aerobic count (TAC) method and coliform count (CC) method for meat products. The comparisons were carried out using 230 meat samples collected from various retailers: 80 pork samples, 80 chicken samples, and 70 beef samples. In the comparison of the correlation coefficient (r) between conventional method and HApS^(TM) method by a linear regression analysis, the correlation coefficients in total microorganism were 0.97767, 0.90712, and 0.95594 in pork, beef, and chicken samples, respectively. The correlation coefficients in coliform count were 0.82062, 0.94833, and 0.96839 in pork, beef and chicken samples, respectively. All the independent t-test on measun:ment values between conventional method and HApS^(TM) method represented no significant differences in the means between two methods at the 0.05 of significance level(α=0.05). Based on the high correlation between HApS^(TM) and the AOAC standard methods in the TAC and CC, it might be compatible to employ the HApS method to measure the microbial contamination in livestock products. HApS^(TM) method was simpler and less time-consuming in sample preparation and procedures faster than the conventional method. These results suggested that the HApS method could be substitute for the conventional methods in the analysis of microbial contamination measurement in meat products.

        In the general process of design for aerobic digestion, the design for field plant of which inflow pattern is continuous inflow is performed using the results from lab scale batch reactor.         In this study, the treatment of livestock wastewater using an aerobic granular sludge based sequencing batch reactor was investigated. The reactor operation was carried out by general injection and split injection methods. The average removal efficiency of organic matter after the adaptation period was 71.5 and 87.4%, respectively. Some untreated organic matter was attributed to recalcitrant organic matter. The average removal efficiency of total nitrogen was 65.6 and 88.4%, respectively. These results indicate that the denitrification reaction by split injection was carried out smoothly. As for the solids, the ratio of aerobic granular sludge/mixed liquor suspended solid can be determined as the main factor of the process operation, and the ratio increased gradually and finally reached 86.0%. Correspondingly, the sludge volume index (SVI) was also improved, reaching 54 mL/g at the end of operation, and it is believed that the application of a short settling time contributed to the improvement of settleability.

        In this study, the effect on the stability of Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) caused by an AGS separator was investigated. The AGS separator was a hydrocyclone. The main factors of the AGS separator were filter pore size (0.125∼0.600 mm), conical-to-cylindrical ratio (1.5∼3.0), and operating time (1∼20 min). The AGS/mixed liquor suspended solid (MLSS) ratio gradually increased to 0.500 mm (AGS/MLSS: 84.3±3.0%). AGS was best separated at the conical-to-cylindrical ratio of 2.5 (AGS/MLSS: 84.7±3.3%). As the operating time increased, the AGS separation performance also tended to increase. The shortest AGS separator run time, but the highest AGS separation performance was 10 min (87.0±2.5%). AGS stability was evaluated by operating the selected AGS separator and sequencing batch reactor. The average removal efficiencies of TOC, TCODCr, SS, TN, and TP were 95.7%, 96.9%, 93.0%, 89.0%, and 96.2%, respectively, which met the effluent standards in Korea. In addition, the AGS/MLSS ratio tended to remain constant, and the sludge volume index demonstrated a tendency to decrease from 140 mL/g to 70 mL/g. During the operation, the particles of AGS in optical microscope observations gradually increased.

        In this study, the effect on the stability of Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) with different Carbon/Nitrogen (C/N) ratios was investigated. The C/N ratios were controlled to 10.0, 7.5, 5.0, and 2.5 using the sequencing batch reactor, and the results showed that the removal efficiency of organic matter and total nitrogen decreased simultaneously with the decrease of C/N ratio. The removal efficiency of organic matter and total nitrogen at C/N ratio of 2.5 was 70.7% and 52.3% respectively. In addition, the AGS/mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) ratio showed a tendency to decrease from 85.7% to 73.7%, while the sludge volume index showed a tendency to increase from 82 mL/g to 102 mL/g as the C/N ratio decreased. At the same time, the apparent deviation of polysaccharide (PS) content in extracellular polymeric substances was observed, and polysaccharides/protein (PS/PN) ratio decreased from 0.62 to 0.31 as the C/N ratio decreased. Optical microscope observations showed that the reduction in C/N ratio caused the growth of filamentous bacteria and significantly affected the stability of AGS.
