        Activated magnetite (Fe3O4-δ) was applied to reducing CO2 gas emissions to avoid greenhouse effects. Wet and dry methods were developed as a CO2 removal process. One of the typical dry methods is CO2 decomposition using activated magnetite (Fe3O4-δ). Generally, Fe3O4-δ is manufactured by reduction of Fe3O4 by H2 gas. This process has an explosion risk. Therefore, a non-explosive process to make Fe3O4-δ was studied using FeC2O4·2H2O and N2. FeSO4·7H2O and (NH4)2C2O4·H2O were used as starting materials. So, α-FeC2O4·2H2O was synthesized by precipitation method. During the calcination process, FeC2O4·2H2O was decomposed to Fe3O4, CO, and CO2. The specific surface area of the activated magnetite varied with the calcination temperature from 15.43 m2/g to 9.32 m2/g. The densities of FeC2O4·2H2O and Fe3O4 were 2.28 g/cm3 and 5.2 g/cm3, respectively. Also, the Fe3O4 was reduced to Fe3O4-δ by CO. From the TGA results in air of the specimen that was calcined at 450˚C for three hours in N2 atmosphere, the δ-value of Fe3O4-δ was estimated. The δ-value of Fe3O4-δ was 0.3170 when the sample was heat treated at 400˚C for 3 hours and 0.6583 when the sample was heat treated at 450˚C for 3 hours. Fe3O4-δ was oxidized to Fe3O4 when Fe3O4-δ was reacted with CO2 because CO2 is decomposed to C and O2.

        In case of domestic pyrolysis dry distillation gassification technology, it stays at the stage of its early introduction and development. Moreover, the companies possessed of this technology are limited to Japan and some countries in Europe, and domestic operative performance of this system is nominal, so there exist a lot of difficulties in securing its basic data. In addition, considering its operation and management, there happens a corrosion of metals by the production of corrosive gases in time of combustion of waste, and there arise a problem of occurrence of low temperature corrosion on exterior casing or gas ducts of a combustion chamber due to the high temperature corrosion around the burner of an incinerator, lowering the durability of an incinerator. Therefore, this study looked at the problems arising in time of incineration by understanding the characteristics of the pyrolysis dry distillation gassification incinerating facility, and did research on the improvement plan for durability of an incinerator for more economic, efficient waste incineration.

        Hexagonal barium ferrite () nano-particles have been successfully fabricated by spraypylorysis process. precursor solutions were synthesized by self-assembly method. Diethyleneamine (DEA) surfactant was used to fabricate the micelle structure of Ba-DEA complex under various DEA concentrations. powders were synthesized with addition of Fe ions to Ba-DEA complex and then fabricated powders by spray-pyrolysis process at the temperature range of . The molar ratio of Ba/DEA and heat-treatment temperatures significantly affected the magnetic properties and morphology of powders. powders synthesized with Ba/DEA molar ratio of 1 and heat-treated at showed the coercive forces (iHc) of 4.2 kOe with average crystal size of about 100 nm.

        Solution copolymerization of Styrene(St.) with 2-Hydroxypropylacrylate(2-HPA) was carried out with Benzoylperoxide(BPO) as an initiator in toluene at 80℃ in a batch reactor. Reaction volume and reaction time were 0.3 liters, 8 hours respectively. The time to reach steady state was about the six time. The monomer reactivity ratios, r1(St.) and r2(2-HPA) were determined by both the Kelen-Tudos method and the Fineman-Ross method ; r1(St.)=0.376(0.330), r2(2-HPA)=0.408(0.778). The activation energy of thermal decomposition was in the range of 33~55kcal/mol.

        To investigate the synergy effect on the pyrolysis of mixture of polyethylene(PE) and polystyrene(PS), the pyrolysis of PE, PS and the mixture of PE-PS was carried out in a batch reactor at the atmospheric pressure and 450℃. The pyrolysis time was from 20 to 80 mins. The liquid products formed during pyrolysis were classified into gas, gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and heavy oil according to the distillation temperatures based on the petroleum product quality standard of Korea Institute of Petroleum Quality. The analysis of the product oils by GC/MS showed that the new components produced by mixing were not detected. The synergy effect according to mixing of PE and PS did not also appear. The conversion and yield of mixtures were in proportion to the mixing ratio of sample.

        The properties of pyrolytic carbon (PyC) deposited from C2H2 and a mixture of C2H2/C3H6 on ZrO2 particles in a fluidized bed reactor were studied by adjusting the deposition temperature, reactant concentration, and the total gas flow rate. The effect of the deposition parameters on the properties of PyC was investigated by analyzing the microstructure and density change. The density could be varied from 1.0 g/cm3 to 2.2 g/cm3 by controlling the deposition parameters. The density decreased and the deposition rate increased as the deposition temperature and reactant concentration increased. The PyC density was largely dependent on the deposition rate irrespective of the type of the reactant gas used.

        Green-emitting Ba1.468Sr0.5SiO4 : Eu0.012, Y0.02 phosphor powders under long-wavelength ultraviolet light were prepared via high-temperature flame spray pyrolysis from spray solutions with and without NH4Cl flux. The effects of the temperature of the diffusion flame and the NH4Cl flux on the morphologies, crystal structures and photoluminescence intensities of the Ba1.468Sr0.5SiO4 : Eu0.012, Y0.02 phosphor powders were investigated. The phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution with the NH4Cl flux had higher photoluminescence intensities compared to phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution without the flux. The photoluminescence intensity of the phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution without the flux decreased as the flow rate of the fuel gas increased. On the other hand, the photoluminescence intensity of the phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution with the flux increased as the flow rate of the fuel gas increased. The difference of in the phase purity and morphology of the powders affected the photoluminescence intensities of the phosphor powders.

        We investigated heat stability of epoxy resin products and epoxy resin according to the influence hardener. The heat flow which shows the degree of thermal decomposition of the epoxy resin product and epoxy resin measured by using the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). As a result, we found that in the case of heat stability for epoxy resin as hardener was added, the ratio of one to one (epoxy resin : hardener) was the most suitable in air condition and nitrogen atmosphere.

        The pyrolysis of high density polyethylene(HDPE) and low density polyethylene(LDPE) was carried out at temperature between 425 and 500℃ from 35 to 80 minutes. The liquid products formed during pyrolysis were classified into gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and wax according to the petroleum product quality standard of Korea Petroleum Quality Inspection Institute. The conversion and yield of liquid products for HDPE pyrolysis increased continuously according to pyrolysis temperature and pyrolysis time. The influence of pyrolysis temperature was more severe than pyrolysis time for the conversion of HDPE. For example, the liquid products of HDPE pyrolysis at 450℃ for 65 minutes were ca. 30wt.% gas oil, 15wt.% wax, 14wt.% kerosene and 11wt.% gasoline. The increase of pyrolysis temperature up to 500℃ showed the increase of wax product and the decrease of kerosene. The conversion and yield of liquid products for LDPE pyrolysis continuously increased according to pyrolysis temperature and pyrolysis time, similar to HDPE pyrolysis. The liquid products of LDPE pyrolysis at 450℃ for 65 minutes were ca. 27wt.% gas oil, 18wt.% wax, 16wt.% kerosene and 13wt.% gasoline.

        The accidents occurred by unstable material which is easily exploded or burnt up were caused by heat and collision under the condition of relatively low temperature without oxygen, have been reported frequently. However, the amount of the unstable material is getting higher by development of fine ceramic research area even though its dangerous characteristic is disregarded. This research studied a heat stability and measured boiling point of various carpet material. Carpet has been used in home as well as general indoor usage. Now a day, carpet material which is hardly burnt has been on commercial, but its detailed unstable conditions is not mentioned. This research reports the measurement of the initial temperature of generation heat and heat-radiation change on differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The DSC data of nylon bulked continuous filament (N-BCF) yam 100%, nylon (NY), poly propylene (PP), and a new material named polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) are studied and researched about the effect of them using TGA, furnace, and direct-burning experiment.

        The silica nanoparticles were used as support of catalyst, filling material, electronic assembler, thin film material, and sensor material. And, the titania nanoparticles were used as pigment, dielectric substance, sensor and photocatalyst. In this paper, the spherical composite particles of TiO2/SiO2with narrow size distribution and phase pure were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method from TiOSO4 and colloidal silica solution. Using ultrasonic apparatus, this starting solution was vaporized to droplets, and these droplets were induced into tube furnace by carrier gas. The resulting composite powder was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, TG-DTA, in vitro sun protection factor(SPF) and BET surface area analysis.

        우라늄 변환시설의 라군 슬러지에 함유된 질산염의 안정적 처리를 위해 물 첨가 용해를 실시한 뒤, 여과 케이크의 안정화 특성에 대하여 알아보았다. 물 용해에 의해 대부분의 질산염은 고농도 질산염 용액으로 제거되었으므로, 여과 케이크의 열분해는 에서 하나의 단계로 수행하였다. Muffle furnace를 이용하여 에서 5시간동안 여과 케이크의 열분해를 실시한 결과 라군 1 슬러지에 포함된 U은 의 열분해와 함께 의 형태로 안정화 되었다. 라군 2 열분해 잔류물의 경우에는 열분해 시 생성된 CaO가 냉각과정에서 수분과 반응하여 로 전환되는 것을 TG/DTA 분석과 XRD 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었지만, 처분장에서 대기중 노출이나 지하수의 침출 등에는 안정한 화합물로 알려져 있으므로, 특별한 첨가제의 첨가 없이 단순 열분해 후 처분이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

        표면 개질한 다공성 금속 지지체에 초음파 분무 열분해법을 이용하여 silica막을 합성하고, 고온 기체 선택 투과 분리 특성을 조사하였다. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)를 전구체로 하여 지지체 세공을 통한 감압 진공을 하면서 873K에서 표면에 defect 없이 균일한 양질의 silica막이 형성되었다. 투과 온도 523 K에서 silica막의 수th/질소 및 수증기/메탄을 분리 계수가 각각 17 및 16 정도의 우수한 선택 투과 성능을 나타냈다. 다공성 금속 지지체의 불균일한 기공에 silica 분체 및 γ-alumina층을 중간층으로 도입하고, 그 위에 열분해법에 의한 silica를 합성한 결과, Knudsen 확산에 의한 투과 영역의 세공이 완전히 제거되어 높은 수소 및 수증기 선택성을 가지는 복합 막이 형성되었다.
