        The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) exposure on the health of elementary school students. A total of 103 students 12~13 years old were chosen for the study. The experimental group consisted of 56 students who went to school near an overhead powerline. The ELF exposure and environmental hazard factors were evaluated during a 24-hour exposure period. The body and dwelling characteristics of the students as well as disease occurrence related to the respiratory system and allergies were investigated through a questionnaire. The brain wave and electrocardiogram were also inspected. The exposure of the group exposed while at a school located near a powerline was 6.8 mG (p<0.01). Based on the questionnaire results, neither the body or dwelling characteristics of the two groups were affected by the ELF emitted from powerline. There was no significant difference between the two groups in relation to the rate of occurrence of respiratory diseases such as wheezing, asthma and bronchitis. Although brain waves of the group exposed to ELF were lower than that of the group not exposed to it in terms of absolute power of gamma and beta, there is no significant difference between the health status of the two groups. According to our study, school students who lived near a power line were exposed to higher ELF levels than those away from a power line. The two groups have significant differences inBrain wave and ECG, but this change doesn't mean there is a difference in health status. Finally, our study has a limitation in terms of the number of study subjects and the restricted area examined.

        Recently, some fashion retailers have initiated sustainable actions in the form of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to address consumers’ social concerns. This study intends to combine the concept of CSR motivation attributions with brand extension literature in order to examine how consumers’ trust of a parent brand affects their CSR motivation attributions and ultimately their attitudes towards parent-brand CSR activities and sustainable extension lines. A self-administered online survey was conducted using scenarios describing a fast fashion retailer introducing a sustainable line. Data from 303 female U.S. consumers, aged between 18 and 34 years, were used for the statistical analysis. Data analyses were conducted using SPSS 21.0 for descriptive analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results revealed that all hypotheses were supported. The findings show that consumers’ trust of a parent brand has an indirect impact on positive attitudes towards the parent brand’s CSR activities as well as the sustainable extension product line, mediating positive evaluations of the brand’s social CSR motivations. In addition, this study suggests consumers’ prior trust of the parent brand is a variable that affects consumers’ evaluation of CSR motivation sincerity. Marketing suggestions and thoughts based on the findings of this study were provided.

        PURPOSES: This study suggests the application of glow line marking technology for reducing traffic accidents at nighttime. METHODS: In this study, using a statistical analysis, we analyzed the characteristics of traffic accidents occurring at nighttime. Next, the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat (SWOT) factors were derived based on a current-status analysis of glow line marking technology and road environments. An SO strategy, ST strategy, WO strategy, and WT strategy were established in accordance with the four SWOT factors. RESULTS : This study suggests that the following strategies should be promoted to apply glow line marking technology to a road environment: 1) an activation strategy for the technological development of glow line markings for a new paradigm in reducing traffic accidents, 2) a benefit enhancement strategy applying glow line marking technology in places where nighttime traffic accidents frequently occur, 3) a strategy for the expansion of glow line marking by replacing streetlights, and 4) a strategy for enhancing road applications through the development of various line marking methods in consideration of both performance and costs. CONCLUSIONS : The application of glow line markings in a road environment can contribute to a reduction of traffic accidents at nighttime, and aid energy savings from the replacement of streetlights.

        Shikonin, a major ingredient in the traditional Chinese herb Lithospermumerythrorhizon, exhibits multiple biological functions including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antitumor effects. It has recently been reported that shikonin displays antitumor properties in many cancers. This study was aimed to investigate whether shikonin could inhibit oral squamous carcinoma cell (OSCC) growth via mechanisms of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. The effects of shikonin on the viability and growth of OSCC cell line, SCC25 cells were assessed by MTT assay and clonogenic assays, respectively. Hoechst staining and DNA electrophoresis indicated that the shikonin-treated SCC25 cells were undergoing apoptosis. Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, MMP activity, and proteasome activity also supported the finding that shikonin induces apoptosis. Shikonin treatment of SCC25 cells resulted in a time- and dose-dependent decrease in cell viability, inhibition of cell growth, and increase in apoptotic cell death. The treated SCC25 cells showed several lines of apoptotic manifestation as follows: nuclear condensation; DNA fragmentation; reduced MMP and proteasome activity; decrease in DNA contents; release of cytochrome c into cytosol; translocation of AIF and DFF40 (CAD) onto the nuclei; a significant shift in Bax/Bcl-2 ratio; and activation of caspase-9, -7, -6, and -3, as well as PARP, lamin A/C, and DFF45 (ICAD). Shikonin treatment also resulted in down-regulation of the G1 cell cycle-related proteins and up-regulation of p27KIP1. Taken together, our present findings demonstrate that shikonin strongly inhibits cell proliferation by modulating the expression of the G1 cell cycle-related proteins, and that it induces apoptosis via the proteasome, mitochondria, and caspase cascades in SCC25 cells.

        Recently, online grocery shopping has been increasing with the development of internet, mobile, and IT technology due to the proportion of consumers changes like increasing single households and double-income couples. Therefore, online sales from distributors with offline stores have also increased, and the offline retailers are facing their limits in dealing with store-based online channel they have carried out. Domestic offline retailers benchmarked overseas advanced retailers to solve this problem by reviewing about developing the online-only distribution center. However, much investment is needed in order to operate the distribution center with the new concept from abroad. In this study, we have reviewed the current online grocery market trend and the theory related to developing distribution system of the online mall. For offline retailers, we have reviewed the case which developed the distribution center applied to the nation’s first online-only distribution center. The purpose of this study is reducing trial and error for local retailers in developing online-only distribution centers and suggesting ways to improve investment effect.

        전남 인근해역에서 많이 사용하는 어로 작업에 사용하는 연승기는 전동기와 2개의 디스크 롤러를 결합하여 1톤 미만의 소형 어선에서 많이 활용하고 있다. 연승기의 작업특성상 연승줄을 끌어 올릴 때 많은 부하가 필요하므로 연승기의 전동기도 단방향으로만 속도 조절을 하면 된다. 본 논문에서는 1톤 미만의 어선의 연승기에 주로 사용되는 400W 용량의 직류전동기를 대상으로 제어 회로를 구성하였으며, 연승기 전동기의 단방향 속도제어를 위해 PWM 전용칩, Half bridge driver 및 MOSFET를 이용하여 제어기를 제작하였다. 또한 현재 사용중인 대분분의 연승기에 빠져있는 배터리 잔량표시기, 배터리 과방전 방지 장치 및 배터리 결선 오류 방지기능 등의 보호기능을 부가하여 사용자 편의를 강화하였다. 이로 인해 배터리 전압이 11.5V 이하가 되면 전동기는 자동을 동작을 정지하여 배터리의 과방전을 막을 수 있었고, 어선 작업자의 빈번한 배터리 결선 실수를 방지하여 컨트롤러의 안전한 사용이 가능토록 하였다. 이러한 연승기를 실제 어로 작업에 시험운전결과 매우 양호하게 동작함을 확인할 수 있었다.

        본 연구는 식용 버섯의 조리방법에 따른 항산화 생리활성의 평가를 위해 수행되었으며, 산화적 스트레스에 의한 DNA 손상 감소 효과를 통해 조리방법을 달리한 버섯 추출물의 유전독성학적 방호효과를 살펴보았다. Human lymphocyte에 조리방법을 달리한 3가지 버섯(느타리, 팽이, 표고)의 추출물을 처리하고, hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)로 산화적 손상을 준 후, DNA 감소 효과를 Comet assay로 평가한 결과, 모든 시료군에서 산화적 손상에 의한 DNA 손상 감소 효과를 나타냈다. 3가지 버섯 모두 비조리군이 조리군보다 높은 효과를 나타냈는데, 이는 조리과정에 의한 페놀성 화합물의 감소로 인한 것으로 보이며, 조리군 중에서 볶기와 전이 비교적 낮은 DNA 손상 감소 효과를 나타낸 것은 조리 시 첨가되었던 대두유의 가열 산화에 의한 것으로 사료된다. 결론적으로, 조리된 버섯은 생버섯에 비해 산화적 스트레스에 의한 DNA 손상 감소효과가 낮으나, 양성 대조군과 비교하였을 때 손상을 유의적으로 감소시킨 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 본 연구에서 사용한 네 가지 조리법(굽기, 데치기, 볶기, 전) 중 DNA 손상 감소에 효과적인 조리법은 대두유를 사용하지 않은 굽기와 데치기인 것으로 판단된다.

        The carcinogenesis mechanism of human salivary gland adenocarcinoma NOS is poorly understood. MicroRNA155(miRNA155) has been involved in the carcinogenesis of many malignant tumors. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of miRNA155 in tumor growth and invasion of adenocarcinoma NOS. Using SGT cells as a model for adenocarcinoma NOS, cell proliferation was examined by MTT assay after knocking down miRNA155 expression, and cell cycle analysis was performed. Invasive capacity by a Transwell culture assay, and miRNA155 expression in SGT cell line by RT-PCR were examined. In MTT assay, proliferation of SGT-miRNA155 cells was decreased prominently after 96 hrs. Proliferation of SGT cells was markedly inhibited by knocking down miRNA155, resulting from a blockade of cell cycle in the G1 phase, but apoptosis was increased about 4 folds. In adhesion assay, SGT-miRNA155 cells decreased about 60% compared to SGT cells. In invasion assay, inhibition of miRNA155 significantly suppressed the invasive capacity of about 34% SGT cells. mRNA expression of SGT-miRNA155 cells prominently were decreased compared to SGT cells by RT-PCR. It suggested that miRNA155 could play an role in cell cycle progression and invasion in SGT cells, including antitumor effect. These results have provided insights into the carcinogenic mechanisms and new intervention method of salivary gland adenocarcinoma NOS.

        According to a simple survey on the current status of the assembly line design, it was found that trial and error methods on the basis of experiences have been used mainly in domestic manufacturing industries, even though there exist a lot of excellent line balancing studies. It seems that more practical researches should be carried out to develop user-oriented line balancing tools especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. This study presents a design of the line balancing tool which can support the line balancing tasks of nonspecialists. The proposed design tool is composed of three major modules: pre-process, line balancing, and post-process. In particular, pre-process and post-process are newly proposed to increase its ease of use. We applied the proposed design to a test problem and test result showed that our practical method may contribute to enhance the efficiency of production operations management.

        Curcumin is a widely used flavoring agent in food, and it has been reported to inhibit cell growth, to induce apoptosis, and to have antitumor activity in many cancers. Cisplatin is one of the most potent known anticancer agents and shows significant clinical activity against a variety of solid tumors. This study was undertaken to investigate the synergistic apoptotic effects of co-treatment with curcumin and cisplatin on human tongue SCC25 cells. To investigate whether the co-treatment efficiently reduced the viability of the SCC25 cells compared with the two treatments separately, an MTT assay was conducted. The induction and the augmentation of apoptosis were confirmed by DNA electrophoresis, Hoechst staining, and an analysis of DNA hypoploidy. Western blot, MMP and immunofluorescence tests were also performed to evaluate the expression levels and the translocation of apoptosis-related proteins following the co-treatment. In this study, following the co-treatment with curcumin and cisplatin, the SCC25 cells showed several forms of apoptotic manifestation, such as nuclear condensation, DNA fragmentation, reduction of MMP, increased levels of Bax, decreased levels of Bcl-2, and decreased DNA content. In addition, they showed a release of cytochrome c into the cytosol, translocation of AIF and DFF40 (CAD) to the nuclei, and activation of caspase-7, caspase-3, PARP, and DFF45 (ICAD). In contrast, separate treatments of 5 μM of curcumin or 4 μg/ml of cisplatin, for 24 hours, did not induce apoptosis. Therefore, our data suggest that combination therapy with curcumin and cisplatin could be considered as a novel therapeutic strategy for human oral squamous cell carcinoma.

        The difference of mooring tension by type of buoy was investigated in the circulating water channel and the wave tank for deducting the most stable buoy from the current and the wave condition. 5 types of buoy made up of short cylinder laid vertically (CL-V), short cylinder laid horizontally (CL-H), capsule (CS), sphere (SP) and long cylinder (CL-L) were used for experiments. A mooring line and a weight were connected with each buoy. A tensile gauge was installed between a mooring line and a weight. All buoy’s mooring tension was measured at the same time for the wave test with periods of 1.5~3.0 sec and wave heights of 0.1~0.3 m, and the current test with flow speeds of 0.2~1.0 m/sec. As a result, the order of tension value in the wave test was CL-H > CL-V > SP > CS > CL-L. In the current test CL-V and CL-H were recorded in the largest tension value, whereas SP has the smallest tension value. So it seems that SP buoy is the most effective in the location affected by fast current. CS is predicted to be suitable for a location that influence of wave is important more than that of current if practical use in the field is considered. And it was found that the difference of mooring tension among buoys in wave is related to the product of the cross sectional area and the drag coefficient for the buoy’s bottom side in high wave height. The factor for the current condition was not found. But it was supposed to be related to complex factors like a dimension and a shape by buoy’s posture to flow.

        In the first part we aim to present a new tool to better understand implicit consumer associations, perceptions and impact. The second one is to show how this tool uncovers new and often counterintuitive insights regarding emotional percepts of soccer megastars, including Lionel Messi. BIOCODE™ is a reaction time based method, determines the strength of implicit, i.e. instinctive, immediate, automated or emotional conviction people have to things they say, such as perceptions of a brand or a celebrity, reactions to an ad, liking of a product or intent to vote for a political candidate. It captures how consumers are impacted by brands, ads, products, packages and concepts in contrast to what they overtly say in a declarative, more considered, explicit realm. In essence, we ask to answer (on-line or central location) simple questions about a brand, a person or a product. Consumers’ explicit and rational statements are important but assessing those responses in the context of the time their brains need to produce an answer gives a new perspective and competitive edge. The standardized reaction time index reveals consumers’ true and unbiased reactions. Importantly, these implicit emotional reactions tend to predict actual behavior closer than explicit rational declarations. The Implicit Association Test (IAT) - the first method based on assessing reaction times - was developed in 1998 by Anthony Greenwald to finally capture racial prejudice and other sensitive issues. Before IAT traditional paper & pencil questionnaires due to overt or hidden distortions had hard time proving the existence of racism. What is the cognitive mechanism beyond reaction time based methodology? By recording how much time a consumer’s brain needs to produce an indication of an attitude or preference we discover how easily accessible (and thus how instrumental) such emotion is. The quicker the indication is, the more accessible it gets. The foundations of this neuropsychological phenomena were first described by Donald Hebb in his ‘Consolidation of the Memory Trace’ theory (1948) and then refined by Russell Fazio in his ‘Attitude Accessibility’ model (1989), Daniel Schacter’s ‘Implicit Memory’ theory (1992) as well as Mahzarin Banaji & Anthony Greenwald in their concept of ‘Implicit Social Cognition’ (1994). Rafal Ohme and his team began working with the original, academic form of IAT. Their goal was to bridge the use of the tool to market research applications. Now with over 15 years of subsequent R&D in this area, they have created simplified, user friendly research applications that are unequaled in their ability to measure previously unanswerable questions about the degree of emotional valence or “felt intensity” that is associated with what people say. BIOCODE™ is the second generation of latency measures. Comparing with IAT - the first generation of academic reaction time methods it is: easier, simpler, clearer, looks better and there is no need for repetitions which saves a lot of precious on-line time. BIOCODE™ is based upon highly refined technology that calibrate individual response speeds and eliminate biasing variables. The technology includes: noise reduction algorithm; quality control module; context procedures; calibration. It secures the highest validity of measurements. In the test – retest validation conducted on 11 studies held internally and externally in 2009-2013 the correlations obtained ranged from r = 0,840 to r = 0,960 (conducted on various target groups of high incidence that met all the criteria for the test; demographic characteristics were controlled and groups were homogenous. Together with Manabu Mori from Rakuten Research - one of the top on-line research company – Rafal Ohme have designed the first ever cross-cultural reaction time test on soccer celebrities. Nearly 900 on-line respondents from three continents: South America, Europe and Asia were asked to indicate (on a computer screen, using a regular mouse or a key-pad) whether they agree or disagree (5-point Likert’s scale) with the attitudinal statements on specific personality traits of soccer celebrities, eg. hard working, talented, famous, loving their country. This explicit rational response has been accompanied by implicit emotional reaction. The aim of the study was to by-pass the “rationality bias” and reveal true emotional reactions about soccer celebrities including: Leo Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Neymar jr, Shinji Kagawa. The selected findings will be disclosed during the presentation. Concluding, BIOCODE™ is a sensitive detector of consumer ‘lip service’ that is often driven by benefit of the doubt, political correctness and simple deference to leadership brands. If we want to understand consumers, it serves to know the gap between what people say and how they feel. It is a very promising, fast growing method with established advanced applications for copy testing, tracking, brand strategy, political polling, product, package and concept testing worldwide. Moreover it is effective as a module embedded within more traditional surveys for providing a seamless integrated perspective on both explicit and implicit aspects of consumer behavior to enrich our understanding of what consumers truly feel and what drives their behavior.

This machine is satisfactory needs for customers looking for X-Ray machine of a line detector. This research is for design and manufacturing of non-destructive X-Ray machine. This research will give rise to major effects for other various non-destructive market industries except car-industry. The most important fact is that this developed non-destructive machine is controlled below 0.2 micro-μSv.

        Several studies have shown that curcumin, which is derived from the rhizomes of turmeric, possesses antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The antitumor properties of curcumin have also now been demonstrated more recently in different cancers. This study was undertaken to investigate the modulation of cell cycle-related proteins and the mechanisms underlying apoptosis induction by curcumin in the SCC25 human tongue squamous cell carcinoma cell line. Curcumin treatment of the SCC25 cells resulted in a time- and dose-dependent reduction in cell viability and cell growth, and onset of apoptotic cell death. The curcumin-treated SCC25 cells showed several types of apoptotic manifestations, such as nuclear condensation, DNA fragmentation, reduced MMP and proteasome activity, and a decreased DNA content.         PURPOSES: This study performs fundamental research on ramp-metering design criteria. METHODS: We carefully review previous studies in terms of ramp-metering design criteria and then consider applicability in Korea. For this, traffic simulation model is employed to analyze actual effect according to specific location of stop-line when implementing rampmetering. RESULTS : When a stop-line moving forward with a 50m interval, travel speed at mainline relative to current stop-line location tends to decrease. However, traveling speed at approach roads increase about 5~18% under the same condition. When a stop-line location moving backward with a 50m interval, mainline travel speed increase approximately 17~32% whereas traveling speed at approach roads decrease. All cases are compared with the current stop-line location. CONCLUSIONS : We believe that both cases are useful with respect to freeway management. For example, moving forward a stop-line case can be used management for queuing area at ramp section and approach roads. Moving backward a stop-line case can be used for traffic control, focusing on mainline of freeways.

        The corrosion resistance of submerged entry nozzle (SEN) materials were investigated for high-class steel manufacturing. Composite samples were fabricated by mixing ZrO2, Al2O3, MgO, mullite, spinel, and carbon. The raw materials were mixed with attrition milling, compacted in a uniaxial pressure of 200MPa and calcined at 1000˚C for 3 h in N2 atmosphere. The bulk density and apparent porosity of the calcined samples were measured by the liquid displacement method in water using Archimedes's principle. The corrosion resistance of the samples were measured by cup test with mold powder at 1550˚C for 2 h. The microstructure and elemental analysis of samples were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrum (EDS), and X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD). The XRD result shows that the starting raw materials were crystalline phase. The microstructure of fabricated specimen was investigated before and after corrosion tests at 1000˚C and 1550˚C for 2h. ZrO2-C composite showed good resistance in the slag corrosion test. Among the composite oxide materials, ZrO2-Al2O3-C and ZrO2-MgO-C showed better resistance than ZrO2-C in the slag corrosion test. The diameter variation index of ZrO2-C refractory was 16.1 at 1000˚C for 2 h. The diameter variation index of the ZrO2-Al2O3-C refractory was larger than that of the ZrO2-C refractory at 1550˚C for 2 h.

        홍콩에서 어문교육에 종사하는 사람들은 계속하여 한자의 자와 어휘의 정량 분석, 학습과 응용에 관심을 가져왔다. 홍콩교육국 과정발전처에서는 2011년 인터넷 학습 데이터베이스인 「香港中文學習字詞表」 http://www.edbchinese.hk/lexlist/와 「中英對照香港學校中文學習基礎字詞」 http://www.edbchinese.hk/lexlist_en/를 개발하였다. 이는 지난 30여년 동안의 연구의 결과물이었다. 1990년, 홍콩과정발전 의회는 小學中國語文科課程綱要와 부록小學常用字表, 연이어 소학교 단계 에서 배워야 할 2600자를 발표하였고, 1996년에는 홍콩교육부에서小學教學參考詞語表(試用)를 공포하였는데, 여기에는 6,765개 어휘가 수록되어 있다. 2003년에 는 홍콩이공대학에서 홍콩교육부의 위임을 받아 소학교용 교육용 한자표와 참고 어휘표를 제작하였고, 연구팀은 이 기존의 연구 기초 위에서 최신의 코퍼스 자료 6,520,000자로 증가시켜 이를 통해 새로운 어휘표를 도출해내어 최종적으로 9,706 개의 어휘를 확정하였다. 비한족 학생들의 중국어 교육을 돕기 위해 영문 주석을 첨가하였다. 본문은 이러한 홍콩의 공공 인터넷 자료를 소개하는데서 시작하여, 어떻게 하면 더욱 풍부한 멀티미디어 기술을 활용하며, 전자 사전학, 전산 응용 언어학, 컴퓨터 기술을 종합 응용하여 심도있고, 확장되며 효과적인 한자교육 사이트를 구성할 수 있을까를 논의하였다.

        본 연구는 온·오프라인 언어순화 프로그램의 실천을 통해 학생들의 올바른 언어사용습관을 길러줌과 동시에 상호 소통하며 서로를 배려하는 어울림 학급 문화를 조성하기 위한 연구이며 구체적인 목적은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 올바른 언어사용습관 형성을 돕는 소통과 배려의 학급 문화를 조성한다. 둘째, 학생들의 언어생활을 지키기 위한 다양한 체험활동을 계획하고 온·오프라인 언어순화 프로그램을 구안·적용하여 학생들의 올바른 언어사용습관을 기른다. 셋째, 온·오프라인 언어순화 프로그램이 소통과 배려의 어울림 학급 문화 만들기에 미치는 효과를 검증한다.본 연구의 실천 효과를 알아보기 위하여 본교 2학년 15반 학생 41명에게 동일한 설문내용인 사전설문(3월)과 사후설문(10월)에 응답한 결과에 대해 빈도분석을 하였다. 설문분석 결과 사전·사후 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 사후 향상되어 나타났다. 따라서 온·오프라인 언어순화 프로그램이 소통과 배려의 어울림 학급 문화 조성에 긍정적인 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 학생들을 통해 얻게 된 결론을 정리해서 살펴보면 다음의 내용과 같다. 첫째, 생활 속에 필요한 대화의 기술을 배워 소통 능력이 신장될 수 있었으며, 언어가 곧 자신의 인격이라는 것과 사용하는 언어에는 그만큼의 책임이 뒤따른다는 것을 제대로 인식하게 되었다. 둘째, 통신매체에서 실제로 사용되고 있는 사례들을 토대로, 통신언어가 어떠한 특징을 가지고 있으며, 어떤 형태로 우리말을 훼손하고 있는지를 파악할 수 있었다. 그리고 이로 인해 자신들이 무비판적으로 사용해온 통신언어의 문제점을 바로 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 세계가 인정한 한글의 우수성, 과학성 그리고 독창성을 깨닫고, 그러한 한글을 올바로 사용하고 세계적인 문자로 발전시켜 나가야 함을 인식하게 되었으며 우리 문자에 대한 자긍심을 지니게 되었다. 마지막으로, 온·오프라인 언어순화 프로그램은 학생들의 올바른 언어사용습관을 형성하고 소통하며 배려하는 어울림 학급 문화 만들기에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다.
