A total of sixteen Xylotrechus species from the Korean peninsula are recognized, including a newly recorded species, Xylotrechus pavlovskii Plavilstshikov, 1954. We present brief descriptions of the Korean Xylotrechus species, except four species which could not be examined in this study. The geographic distribution, host plants, illustrations for each species, and a key to the Korean Xylotrechus species are provided.

The Gonatopodinae is the most diverse subfamily among the Dryinids subfamilies. It is recognized about 381 described species in the world. A total three genera and seven species have been reported from Korea (He, J. and Xu, Z., 2002). Generally Gonatopus is easily distinguished from other Gonatopodinae genera by the combination of the following characters: Palpal fomula 6/3, or 5/3 or, or 5/2 , or 4/3, or 4/2, or 3/2; enlarged claw with a subapical tooth, or with a small subapical tooth; Tibial spurs 1, 0, 1. Also, Genus Gonatopus Ljungh, 1810 ranks as the most commonly distributed genus in the world and parasitoids of leaf hopper, Cicadellidae (except for Typhlocybinae, Idiocerinae, Macropsinae) (Olmi, 1984). In this study, we found one newly recorded species, Gonatopus dromedarius (A.costa) and provide a key to the species of genus Gonatopus from Korea

Members of Sparassidae of Araneae are small to large sized (3-25mm) huntsman spiders (Jäger 1999). In Korea, there have been recorded 5 species, Heteropoda venatoria (Linnaeus, 1767), Micrommata virescens (Clerck, 1757), Sinopoda koreana (Paik, 1968), Sinopoda stellatops Jäger & Ono, 2002 and Thelcticopis severa (L.Koch, 1875), belonging to 3 genera (Paik, 1968, 1978, Namkung, 2002, 2003, You and Kim, 2002). In the course of survey for the spider fauna of Mt. Sobaek (1,439m elevation) located in Punggi-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do during 2007 to 2008, one of the 16 National Parks in Korea, 2 matured females of Sinopoda forcipata (Karsch,1881) which has been known to distribute in China and Japan were collected by pitfall traps. S.forcipata is a newly recorded species for the Korean spider fauna. Female of S.forcipata was described with some natural history including vertical distribution at mountain and seasonal fluctuation, and compared distribution and habitat of 3 Korean Sinopoda species referring former reports from Korea.

Up to now, 39 species of the family Anthribidae have been recorded from Korea. As a result of this study, we add two genus and four species of the family Anthribidae to the Korean fauna with brief descriptions and illustrations of diagnostic characters. The newly recorded genus Citacalus in the subfamily Choraginae, is very similar to the genus Choragus. Citacalus pygidialis Johraku has an unique character, pygidium strongly convex longitudinally sharply carinate on the apical half in male; in female, pygidium triangularly projecting laterally near the apex. The newly recorded species Euparius modicus yaeyamanus Morimoto in the genus Euparius of the subfamily Anthribinae, can be distinguished from the other two recorded species by the elytra with almost unicolor pubescence color except a pair of black spots behind middle. The newly recorded genus Unciferina is close to Uncifer Jordan, but easily distinguished from the latter by sharply angulate rostrum to head, transversely carinate base of rostrum on the underside, and the acute hind angles of pronotum. The two new species in the genus Unciferina are easily distinguished from the congeneric species with pubescence patches on pronotum and elytra, shape of eye, the ratio of the antennal segments and the shape of the hind angles of pronotum.

The family Gracillariidae belonging to Gracillarioidea comprises more than 2,000 described species of 75 genera in the world (Davis & Robinson, 1999). The members of the family are mostly small-sized moths, which can be distinguished by a short (2-10mm in length) and lanceolated narrow wing with prominent cilia. The larvae of the family have been known as leaf-miner and hypermetamorphic development in larval stages. In Korea, it has been recorded 39 species of 11 genera by several researchers (Nakayama & Okamoto, 1940; Ko, 1969; Park, 1975; Park et al. 1977; Kumata & Park, 1978; Park, 1983; Kumata et al., 1983; Park & Han, 1986). Recently, Sohn (2007) reported 6 species without descriptions and detail information for the species. However, it is necessary to investigate and review the Korean Gracillarid moths, due to their lack knowledge from Korea to date, comparing with Japanese fauna, which contains 225 known species from Japan (http://www. jpmoth.org/). In this study, three species, Cloptilia heringi Kuroko, Phyllonryeter cavella (Zeller), and P. tritorrhecta (Meyrick), of the family Gracillariidae aree reported for the first time from Korea.

Mimemodes Reitter, 1876 and Mimemodes emmerichi Mader, 1937 are reported from Korea for the first time and a historical review of the taxonomic position of this genus is provided. M. emmerichi was found on the island of Guleopdo in the West Sea of Korea, bringing the number of species within the Korean Monotomidae to five. In this study, we provide a key to the genera within the Korean Monotomidae, a redescription of M. emmerichi Mader, and illustrations of its habitus and aedeagus.

The genus Haplothrips Amyot & Serville, 1843 is a very large genus with more than 200 described species in the world. Most of congeneric species are very similar to one another, and are sometimes difficult to distinguish. The genus is most frequently found among all phlaeothripine genera in Korea. Five species have been reported from Korea: H. aculeatus (Fabricius, 1803), H. brevitubus (Karny, 1913), H. ganglbaueri Schmutz, 1913, H. kurdjumovi Karny, 1913, H. niger (Osborn, 1883). The newly recorded species Haplothrips nipponicus is recently described from Japan (Honshu, Kyushu, Ryukyu Islands) by S. Okajima in 2006. The species is very similar to both of Korean species H. brevitubus and H. kurdjumovi in having sub basal wing setae b3 pointed at apex, but it can be easily distinguished by the sense-cone formula of the third antennal segment. Although the latter two species have only one sense-cone, H. nipponicus has two sense-cones on the segment. Moreover, these three species can be distinguished from one another by the shape of the male aedeagus whether it is apically rounded and laterally hardened or not. In this study, morphological characters for identification of H. nipponicus are described and figured. In addition, biological information about distribution and plant relationship is also presented.
