        Submarining is a phenomenon in that the lap belt goes over the pelvis of the occupant during a frontal crash. It is known to be one of the causes of serious abdominal injuries for the belted occupant. The goal of the current study was to investigate the effect of both the belt geometry and dummy variations on the occurrence of submarining. A series of quasi-static belt-pull tests were performed to evaluate the influence of the parameters on the occurrence of the submarining. The main influencing factor of the submarining was the lap belt angle. The tear or wrinkle of the dummy clothing and torso angle relative to the pelvis also affected the propensity of the submarining. Therefore, these parameters need to be closely monitored to obtain repeatable test results.

        The sub-frame is located on the lower body of a monocoque type vehicle and serves as an engine and suspension, and is an important object part that receives a lot of load. The existing press-type sub-frame has a large number of parts for assembling, which causes an increase in cost. Changing the machining form of this part from the existing press-type machining method to the hydro-forming machining method has the advantage of reducing the cost and weight at the same time due to the reduction of the process. Therefore, in this study, the purpose of this study is to change the design so that the sub-frame of the existing press type can be changed to the hydro-forming process method. To this end, we intend to present a design method by analyzing the effect on the rigidity of the sub-frame using the existing machining method through shape optimization analysis.

        Hydro-forming technology is a technology that will replace the existing press-forming technology and is used in various industry range from automotive parts to electronic products. The advantage of this technology is that it has dramatically changed the existing processing method, and it can be said that the process reduction due to the reduction of parts, cost reduction, and high precision are mentioned. In this study, it is intended to present a design process using computer simulation by changing the sub-frame for automotive parts produced with the existing press forming technology to the hide-forming method. To this end, it is intended to use it as part design data by comparatively analyzing the cross-sectional shape and thickness reduction, which are the major factors necessary to determine the successful development of the developed parts.

        In this study, stiffness evaluation was conducted on the main member, front cross member, and rear cross member, which are three components of sub-frame for SUVs (sports utility vehicles), through mode analysis. As for the design variables used in the analysis, the maximum frequency was examined by varying the width and height of each of the three parts into four types. Of course, the weight at this time is minimized, and the mode is set as a constraint that only bending occurs and no distortion occurs. As a result of the analysis, the member affecting the 1st mode was the rear cross member, and the member having the greatest influence on the 2nd mode was the front cross member. In addition, the member with the greatest influence on the 3rd mode appeared as the rear cross member, indicating that this part had the greatest effect on the bending stiffness.

        본 논문에서는 Needle-punched C/SiC 복합재료 해석을 위한 효율적인 멀티스케일 해석기법을 소개한다. 기존 Needle-punching으 로 인해 복잡한 미소구조를 갖는 NP 복합재료는 기존의 제안된 복합재료 멀티스케일 기법으로 물성을 계산하는 것은 한계가 있어 왔다. 이를 극복하기 위해 micro-CT 이미지 촬영을 통해 NP 복합재료의 미소구조를 면밀히 파악할 수 있었고, 이미지 프로세싱을 바탕으로 실제구조와 직접적으로 대응할 수 있는 3D high fidelity 모델을 구축하였다. 또한 유한요소해석에 맞춰 요소크기를 조절할 수 있는 sub-region processing 소개를 바탕으로 효율적인 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. NP 복합재료의 미소구조 거동뿐만 아니라, macro-scale 구조해석의 적용을 위해 subcell 모델링을 제안하였다. Needle-punching에 의한 Z축 NP 섬유의 규칙적인 간격을 이용하여 모델링을 수행할 수 있었다. 제안한 두 종류의 모델은 균질화 기법을 이용하여 등가거동 및 등가물성을 파악하였으며, 추가적인 실험 결과와의 비교를 통해 검증을 수행하였다.

        The hydro-forming design process of the sub-frame side members was studied using a high strength steel of 440 MPa in tensile strength. In the part design stage of the side member, the cross section analysis and the overall process design of the part shape were done. In the detailed simulation results, the maximum thickness reduction rate due to hydro-forming was predicted to be 13% and this was predicted to be a safe level without cracking. The end curvature was reduced to increase the stiffness of the part to design more secure parts and two types of grooves were added to the cross section and compared. The thickness reduction rates of the narrow and wide were improved by 18.6% and 15.6%, respectively when the narrow and wide grooves were added.

        Hydroforming is a forming technology in which a steel tube is fixed in a die and formed to fit a specified design shape by applying hydraulic pressure from inside the tube. In present study, the whole process of sub-frame side member development is presented by tube hydro-forming using steel material. At the part design stage, it requires feasibility study and process design aided by CAE (computer aided design) to confirm hydro-formability in details. Overall possibility of hydro-formable side member parts could be examined by cross sectional analyses. All the components is designed and formability is examined from the point of geometry and thinning. From the simulation results, the maximum thickness reduction rate is 55% after hydroforming. In order to improve this result, the feeding by 30 mm is applied to the both sides of the tube and the thickness reduction can be reduced from this management.

        Recently, the use of tubes in the manufacturing of the automobile parts has increased and therefore many automotive manufactures have tried to use hydro-forming technology. The hydro-forming technology may cause many advantages to automotive applications in terms of better structural integrity of the parts, lower cost from fewer part count, material saving, weight reduction, lower spring-back, improved strength and durability and design flexibility. In this study, the whole process of sub-frame parts development by tube hydro-forming using steel material is presented. At the part design stage, it requires feasibility study and process design aided by CAE (computer aided design) to confirm hydro-formability in details. Overall possibility of hydro-formable sub-frame parts could be examined by cross sectional analyses. All the components of prototyping tools are designed and interference with press is examined from the point of geometry and thinning.

        Curcumin have various health-beneficial properties in numerous studies. However, its bioavailability is low due to its limited intestinal uptake and rapid metabolism. This study aimed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of newly developed sub-micron particle curcumin with increased water dispersibility (Theracurmin® CR-033P). Plasma curcumin levels were measured at 0, 1, 2, 4, 8 h after Theracurmin® CR-033P intake using high-performance liquid chromatography. For analyzing pharmacokinetics of Theracurmin® CR-033P, eighteen healthy subjects were recruited and received Theracurmin® CR-033P at a single oral dose containing curcumin 30 mg. Cmax was 28.14 ng/ml, and the area under the curve for 8 h was estimated to be 104.36 ng/ml. Based on the area under the plasma concentration (AUC), the bioavailability of sub-micron particle curcumin was higher 22-, 35-, 28-fold than native curcumin in men, women, and all subjects, respectively. For comparing by formulation, seven healthy subjects were recruited and received two type of treatment: (1) existing dosage form 300 mg (contained curcumin 30 mg) × 3 capsule, (2) high dosage form 300 mg (contained curcumin 90 mg) × 1 capsule + placebo 300 mg × 2 capsule. In the cross-over study, there was no significant differences in Cmax and AUC of plasma curcumin. In conclusion, submicron particle curcumin with increased water dispersibility significantly improved its oral bioavailability and women absorbed curcumin more effectively than men. Different formulation of Theracurmin® CR-033P has shown equivalent to the reference in terms of pharmacokinetics.

        The latest weight reduction research of automotive industry and technology was improved. In this paper, we aim to evaluate the composite frame to manufacture the floor assembly of commercial vehicle. The design of subframe incorporated into the floor module was determined by FEM(Finite Element Method) simulation. The mechanical properties used for the simulations were obtained from the tests for samples of glass fiber/epoxy composites. We made two kinds of pultrusion products, one was aluminum profile, the other was unidirectional composites with aluminum profile. Based on the results from the simulation and bending test, the design of the subframe was finally determined prior to adoption of the commercial vehicle floor.

        This paper examines the Japanese contemporary art’s affinity with subculture by looking into the work of Aida Makoto (1965-), who employs visual and narrative elements drawn from Japanese contemporary subculture in expressing his explicit ‘anti-modern’ or ‘anti-western’ view. The flourishing subculture in contemporary Japanese society could have been resulted from the lack of modernist culture or system. This can be related to the troubling issue of modernity in Japan, which was once the earliest ‘modernized’ nation in Asia, yet totally defeated in WWII. Although the seminar of ‘kindai-no-chokoku (overcoming modernity)’ held in 1942 did not produce any productive discussion on overcoming the west, it served as a theoretical background to justify the Japanese invasionist policy and the eventual fantasy to overcome the West. Upon the forced ending of WWII by the attack of two atomic bombs, however, the issue of modernity in Japan in relation to the west became more complicated. Aida approaches complicated the issue of modernity in Japan by touching on the following four aspects;a hatred of the generalized notion of western modernity, a resistance to Modernism as an artistic style, a cynicism about Japanized Modernist art, and an unresolved relationship between Japan and ‘modernity,’ addressed by ‘kindai-no-chokoku.’ It should be noted that Aida’s adoption of subculture reveals his evasive view avoiding modernist methods. By drawing on Japanese subcultural media such as manga, animation or games, which is largely (science-)fictional, tragi-comic, slapstick or nonsensical, Aida attacks modernism by curtailing its seriousness. Instead of providing a serious criticism of modernism, Aida’s work widens the gap between the historical reality and what is represented. By means of exaggerated and comical attacks, Aida ironically achieves a gradual deconstruction of the authoritarian modern.

        In this paper, we describe the installation of VLBI Correlation Subsystem (VCS) main product and its performance at the Korea-Japan Correlation Center (KJCC). The VCS main product was installed at KJCC in August 2009. For the overall performance evaluation of VCS, playbacks, Raw VLBI Data Buffer (RVDB) system, and Data Archive (DA) system were installed together. The VCS main product was connected between RVDB and DA, and the correlation results were put into the DA to confirm the normal operation of VCS 16 station mode configuration. The evaluation test was first performed with 4 station mode, same as the factory test of VCS main product. Based on the results of 4 station mode, the same evaluation test was conducted for 16 station mode of VCS. We found that the correlation results of VCS were almost similarly compared to those of the Mitaka FX Correlator. Through the test results, we confirmed that the problems such as spectrum errors, delay parameter processing module and field programmable gate array errors in antenna unit, which were generated at the factory test of VCS main product, were clearly solved. And we verified the performance and connectivity of VCS by obtaining the expected correlation results and we also confirmed that the performance of VCS was sufficient for real VLBI observation data in both 4 and 16 station modes.

        In commercial vehicle, sub-frame which equipped in main frame supporting dump deck and oil tanker. This is the main structure for all equipment which including joint function. Sub-frame is made by welding process, this susceptible to deform and crack by its longitudinal size. Also various kind of sub-frame make it difficult to standardization in manufacturing process and exclusive jig is not adapted yet. Frame size is over 6~8m and weight is more than 300kg this make re-work more difficult. If manufacturing company made precise sub-frame, this is not only convenient for customers but also save the company money by reducing the working time. In this study manufacture the sub-frame be suitable for its main function and develop exclusive welding jig for obtain checking fixture function as well.

        We present the performance test results of VLBI Correlation Subsystem (VCS) trial product which was being developed for 1 year from August 2007. It is a core component of Korea-Japan Joint VLBI Correlator (KJJVC). The aim for developing VCS trial product is to improve the performance of VCS main product to reduce the efforts and cost, and to solve the design problems by performing the preliminary test of the manufactured trial product. The function of VCS trial product is that it is able to process the 2 stations-1 baseline, 8 Gbps/station speed, 1.2 Gbps output speed with FX-type. VCS trial product consists of Read Data Control Board (RDC), Fourier Transform Board (FTB), and Correlation and Accumulation Board (CAB). Almost main functions are integrated in the FTB and CAB board. In order to confirm the performance of VCS trial product functions, the spectral analysis, delay compensation and correlation processing experiments were carried out by using simulation and real observation data. We found that the overflow problem of re-quantization after FFT processing was occurred in the delay compensation experiment. We confirmed that this problem was caused by valid bit-expression of the re-quantized data. To solve this problem, the novel method will be applied to VCS main product. The effectiveness of VCS trial product has been verified through the preliminary experimental results, but the overflow problem was occurred.

        A software simulator is developed for verifying the VLBI Correlation Subsystem (VCS) trial product hardware. This software simulator includes the delay tracking, fringe rotation, bit-jump, FFT analysis, re-quantization, and auto/cross-correlation functions so as to confirm the function of the VCS trial product hardware. To verify the effectiveness of the developed software simulator, we carried out experiments using the simulation data which is a mixed signal with white noise and tone signal generated by software. We confirmed that the performance of this software simulator is similar as that of the hardware system. In case of spectral analysis and re-quantization experiment, a serious problem of the VCS hardware, which is not enough for expressing the data stream of FFT results specified in VCS hardware specification, was found by this software simulator. Through the experiments, the performance of software simulator was verified to be efficient. In future, we will improve and modify the function of software simulator to be used as a software correlator of Korea-Japan Joint VLBI Correlator (KJJVC).
