이 연구는 한국에서 디지털 기술과 소셜미디어의 확산으로 인해 심화 되고 있는 포모(FOMO, Fear of Missing Out)가 전체주의적 경향을 강 화할 가능성이 있는지에 대해서 탐구한다. 현재 한국은 높은 수준의 디 지털 환경을 기반으로 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 이러한 디지털 환경은 개 인이 사회적 고립에서 벗어나는 데 도움을 줄 수 있으나, 포모에 빠져들 게 할 수도 있다. 포모는 분노와 혐오, 그리고 폭력성 등의 개인적 심리 현상에 그치지 않고, 소속감 욕구를 강화함으로써 집단 동조와 적대적 행위를 촉진하여 궁극적으로 사회적 구조에 영향을 미친다. 이러한 포모 의 메커니즘은 전체주의적 메커니즘과 유사하다. 전체주의는 분열된 사 회 속에서 고립된 개인들을 대상으로 하며, 이들에게 강력한 소속감을 제공함으로써 집단적 충성을 요구한다. 그러므로 이 연구에서는 한국의 문화적‧기술적‧정치적 상황에서 포모를 분석하고, 이를 통해 한국의 디지 털 환경 속에서 형성되는 포모가 전체주의적 경향에 어떠한 영향을 미치 는지를 논의하고자 한다.
목적 : 노인의 물리적 환경 특성을 기반으로 잠재프로파일 분석(Latent Profile Analysis, LPA)을 수행하여, 유형화된 잠재집단과 내적 능력(Intrinsic Capacity) 간의 연관성을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 단면연구로 2023년도 노인실태조사를 활용하여 총 7,820명의 노인 데이터에 대한 2차 자료 분석을 진행하였다. 수집된 데이터에서 인구사회학적 특성, 물리적 환경에 대한 주거 접근성, 지역사회 이동성 및 친화성, 내적 능력에 관한 변수를 추출하여 분석하였다. 분석은 물리적 환경 특성을 기준으로 잠재프로파일 분석을 실시하였으며, 유형 화된 잠재집단의 영향요인은 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석 그리고 잠재집단과 내적 능력 간의 연관성은 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과 : 물리적 환경 특성에 따른 잠재집단은 “취약한 생활환경”(profile1), “지역 중심 생활환경”(profile2), “편리한 생활 환경”(profile3)으로 명명되었다. 잠재집단의 영향 요인은 여성, 고령, 낮은 학력 수준일수록 열악한 환경에서 생활할 가 능성이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 내적 능력과의 연관성은 다른 잠재집단에 비해 주거와 지역사회 환경이 상대적으 로 지역사회 이동성 및 친화성이 높을수록(profile2) 내적 능력 유지 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 노년기에 주거 접근성, 지역사회 이동성 및 친화성의 물리적 환경 특성이 건강에 중요한 지표로 사용되는 내적 능 력과 연관성을 실증적으로 확인하였다. 이는 노인의 건강 유지와 삶의 질 향상을 위해 주거와 지역사회 환경을 통합적으 로 고려한 정책적 지원 및 개입 전략 마련을 위한 방향성을 제시함에 의의가 있다.
This study presents a novel methodology for analyzing disease relationships from a network perspective using Large Language Model (LLM) embeddings. We constructed a disease network based on 4,489 diseases from the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) using OpenAI’s text-embedding-3-small model. Network analysis revealed that diseases exhibit small-world characteristics with a high clustering coefficient (0.435) and form 16 major communities. Notably, mental health-related diseases showed high centrality in the network, and a clear inverse relationship was observed between community size and internal density. The embedding-based relationship analysis revealed meaningful patterns of disease relationships, suggesting the potential of this methodology as a novel tool for studying disease associations. Results suggest that mental health conditions play a more central role in disease relationships than previously recognized, and disease communities show distinct organizational patterns. This approach shows promise as a valuable tool for exploring large-scale disease relationships and generating new research hypotheses.
본 연구의 목적은 사회복지제도에 나타난 제도의 취지, 운영원리, 메커니즘이 상생과 사상적으로 어떠한 상관관계를 갖고 있는가를 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위 한 구체적인 본 연구의 주요 분석대상은, 공공부조의 국민기초생활보장제도, 사 회보험제도의 공적연금, 건강보험, 고용보험, 산업재해보험을 놓고, 제도의 취지 와 상생과의 사상적 상관관계를 논하였다. 분석결과, 상생을 실천하고 실현하는 국가의 제도적 기제로써 사회복지제도가 존재한다. 특히 현대사회에서 태동된 복 지국가의 정의는 결국 모든 국민이 ‘더불어 잘사는 나라’를 추구한다는 것이다. 그리고 이러한 제도적 수단과 국가의 운영정책으로 다양한 복지제도와 복지서비 스 프로그램을 정책적으로 활용하고 있다. 따라서 복지와 상생의 관계는 사상적 으로나 제도적으로 대단히 밀접하다. 왜냐하면 복지와 상생은, 사상적으로는 일 맥상통한 부문이 공존하고 제도적으로는 사상적 실천을 뒷받침하는 형태로 복지 제도가 존재하기 때문이다. 이러한 이유로 결국 복지와 상생, 상생과 복지는 이 념적으로나 존재론적으로 동일시된다. 즉, ‘상생’의 완성이 ‘복지’이고 ‘복지’의 실천이 ‘상생’이 되는 이른바, “쌍무적 관계”이다. 그리고 바로 이것이 복지와 상 생의 사상적, 제도적 관계라 하겠다. 때문에 결국 현대사회에서 복지의 확대가 상생의 확장이고 상생의 확대가 복지의 확장이다. 따라서 사상적으로 복지와 상 생, 상생과 복지는 여집합보다는 교집합 부분이 상대적으로 많은 행태이다. 결국 사회복지제도는 개별 복지제도의 정책적 배경이 되고 이는 다시 각 제도의 궁극 적인 목적으로 구체화되고 종국에는 사회적 생존권 보장을 통한 상생으로 이어 지는 상호 연결고리를 갖는 구도 속에서 순환된다 하겠다.
이 연구는 비만 유병율이 급격하게 증가되는 중년남성을 대상으로 비만 정도에 따른 신 체 활동량 차이를 알아보고, 비만도에 따른 대사적 건강 상태를 비교하여 비만 정도에 따 른 운동 실천율과의 연관성을 알아보고자 진행되었다. 연구에 활용된 자료는 2022년 국민 건강영양조사에 보고된 설문 원시자료이며, 연구 대상자는 중년남성(40세~64세)에 해당하 는 470명으로 선정하였다. 비만도에 따른 신체적 요인, 신체 활동량, 운동 실천율, 혈액요인 의 변인을 변인의 특성과 연구의 목적에 적합하도록 일원분산분석과 ²검정으로 분석하여 결과를 도출하였다. 비만도에 따른 체중, 허리둘레, 체질량지수, 나이 요인에서 유의한 차이 가 나타났고, 중성지방, 당화혈색소, 고밀도지단백 요인에서도 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 반 면 비만도에 따른 모든 집단에서 신체 활동량과 운동 실천율은 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않 았다. 결론적으로 중년남성의 비만도에 따른 신체 활동량 및 운동 실천율과의 연관성은 나 타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과로 국내 중년 남성에게 있어서 비만도는 일상의 영양 섭취, 수면, 스트레스 등과 같은 생활 습관의 변인 및 정신적인(심리적인) 변인의 중요성이 더 강조 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
아세트아미노펜(acetaminophen, ACT)과 이부프로펜(ibuprofen, IBU)은 수생환경에서 발견되는 대표적인 의약품으로, 다양한 수생생물에서 생물독성영향을 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있으나 이들이 해양생물에 미치는 독성영향은 잘 알려져있지 않다. 이에 본 연구는 ACT 및 IBU가 기수산 물벼룩 Diaphanosoma celebensis에 미치는 급성독성영향 및 해독, 항산화, 탈피 연관 유전자의 발현에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 급성독성시험 결과, ACT 및 IBU는 D. celebensis에 상대적으로 낮은 급성독성영향을 나타냈다 (48-h LC50 ACT: 120.72 mg/L 및 48-h LC50 IBU: 212.23 mg/L). 해독효소 유전자의 발현은 ACT 노출 시 모두 유의하게 감소한 반면 IBU 노출 시 Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 360A8, glutathione S-transferease (GST) theta, 및 ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter B1 유전자의 발현이 증가하였으며, 이는 ACT 및 IBU가 해독 경로에 미치는 영향이 서로 다를 수 있음을 의미한다. 반면 ACT 및 IBU의 노출은 공통적으로 D. celebensis의 항산화 및 탈피 연관 유전자의 발현을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는, ACT 및 IBU가 서로 다른 작용기전을 통해 대사될 수 있지만, 공통적으로 해양 동물성플랑크톤의 산화환원 항상성과 생식경로에 잠재적인 독성영향을 나타낼 수 있음을 시사한다.
9세기 신라 구법승은 당에서 어떤 불교 성물을 보았을까? 이 글은 신라 구법승과 같은 시기 당(唐)에 머물며 장안(長安)과 양주(揚州), 태주(台州) 등지에서 불교 경전과 서적 뿐 아니라 불화와 백묘 도상, 밀교 법구 등을 수집해 간 일본 구법승들의 청래목록(請來目錄) 을 살펴보았다. 입당팔가(入唐八家)라 알려진 일본의 9세기 구법승, 즉 사이초(最澄), 구카 이(空海), 조교(常曉), 엔교(圓行), 엔닌(圓仁), 에운(惠運), 엔친(圓珍), 슈에이(宗叡)가 작성한 청래목록을 읽으며 그들이 가지고 온 그림과 도구 등의 미술사 관련 물목을 정리하 고, 신라 불교미술과의 연관성을 탐색해 보았다. 9세기 일본 승려들이 입당한 주요 목적은 밀교 수법에 필요한 만다라와 도구 등을 구하는 것이었지만, 여정에 따라, 또 개인적인 관심사나 인연에 따라 천태(天台)나 선(禪) 등 비밀 교적인 그림이나 성물도 수집했음을 확인했다. 이들이 공들여 수집한 물건들 가운데에는 신 라 구법승도 관심을 가지고 보았을 것이고, 신라로 장래(將來)한 것도 있을 수 있다. 그런 관점에서 이 글에서는 화본(畫本)으로 전해진 밀교 도상이나 단감(檀龕), 즉 전단목(栴檀 木)으로 제작한 불감 등 그간 신라 불교미술 연구에서 주목해 온 항목을 재확인했다. 이에 더해 근래 주목을 받는 경주 출토 <범한다라니(梵漢陀羅尼)>(본관6860)가 사이초의 목록 에서 보이는 <범한양자수구즉득다라니(梵漢兩字隨求陀羅尼)> 등 범자와 한자 두 글자로 적힌 다라니의 유통과 관련이 있을 가능성을 제기했다. 그리고 조교와 엔교, 엔닌의 목록에 보이는 보리상(菩提像)과 수월관음상(水月觀音像)의 유통 양상을 주목했다. 이 외에도 목 록에 보이는 다양한 종류의 고승 진영, 오대산(五臺山) 및 천태산(天台山) 관련 유물, 인불 (印佛)과 인탑(印塔) 역시 앞으로 더 주목해 보아야 할 소재임을 제시했다.
This study utilizes association rule learning and clustering analysis to explore the co-occurrence and relationships within ecosystems, focusing on the endangered brackish-water snail Clithon retropictum, classified as Class II endangered wildlife in Korea. The goal is to analyze co-occurrence patterns between brackish-water snails and other species to better understand their roles within the ecosystem. By examining co-occurrence patterns and relationships among species in large datasets, association rule learning aids in identifying significant relationships. Meanwhile, K-means and hierarchical clustering analyses are employed to assess ecological similarities and differences among species, facilitating their classification based on ecological characteristics. The findings reveal a significant level of relationship and co-occurrence between brackish-water snails and other species. This research underscores the importance of understanding these relationships for the conservation of endangered species like C. retropictum and for developing effective ecosystem management strategies. By emphasizing the role of a data-driven approach, this study contributes to advancing our knowledge on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem health, proposing new directions for future research in ecosystem management and conservation strategies.
A total of 481,414 Korean participants aged 40-79 years at enrollment were examined. The hazard ratios for all-cause, all-cancer, and head and neck cancer mortality were analyzed using Cox proportional hazards models, which were adjusted for potential confounding factors. In the overall study population, the highest AST/ALT ratio level was significantly associated with risk of all-cause, all-cancer, and head and neck cancer mortality (p < 0.01). After excluding participants who died of all-cause, all-cancer, and head and neck cancer within five years of enrollment, the main results remained similar to those of the analysis of all deaths in the study population. These findings indicate that serum AST/ALT ratio is positively associated with an increased mortality risk in all-cause, all-cancer, and head and neck cancer.
Until now, research on consumers’ purchasing behavior has primarily focused on psychological aspects or depended on consumer surveys. However, there may be a gap between consumers’ self-reported perceptions and their observable actions. In response, this study aimed to investigate consumer purchasing behavior utilizing a big data approach. To this end, this study investigated the purchasing patterns of fashion items, both online and in retail stores, from a data-driven perspective. We also investigated whether individual consumers switched between online websites and retail establishments for making purchases. Data on 516,474 purchases were obtained from fashion companies. We used association rule analysis and K-means clustering to identify purchase patterns that were influenced by customer loyalty. Furthermore, sequential pattern analysis was applied to investigate the usage patterns of online and offline channels by consumers. The results showed that high-loyalty consumers mainly purchased infrequently bought items in the brand line, as well as high-priced items, and that these purchase patterns were similar both online and in stores. In contrast, the low-loyalty group showed different purchasing behaviors for online versus in-store purchases. In physical environments, the low-loyalty consumers tended to purchase less popular or more expensive items from the brand line, whereas in online environments, their purchases centered around items with relatively high sales volumes. Finally, we found that both high and low loyalty groups exclusively used a single preferred channel, either online or in-store. The findings help companies better understand consumer purchase patterns and build future marketing strategies around items with high brand centrality.
The present study aimed to explore how pre-service teacher’s individual regulatory focus orientation, currently emerging as an interesting learner variable for language learning, could influence their Englishspeaking abilities. English teaching demonstration videos of 67 pre-service teachers were analyzed in terms of pronunciation, accuracy, and fluency. The regulatory focus orientations of participants were evaluated using a questionnaire. The results of data analysis, using multiple regression analysis, indicated that promotion-focus orientation was a significant positive predictor for pronunciation, fluency (words per minute, ratio of dysfluency), and accuracy (lexical errors, ratio of error-free AS-units). On the other hand, prevention-focus orientation did not emerge as a statistically significant factor affecting accuracy. However, it was observed to have a negative influence on both pronunciation and fluency. In light of the research findings that highlight the favorable impact of a promotion-focus orientation, suggestions were made for future teacher training programs aimed at enhancing the English proficiency of pre-service teachers.
This study investigated associations between healthy dietary practices and the odds of prediabetes among Korean adolescents. The data of 1,624 adolescents aged 12 to 18 who participated in the 2017-2021 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were analyzed. Healthy dietary practices were defined according to Health Plan 2030 criteria, and prediabetes was defined as a fasting blood glucose level of 100-125 mg/dL. After controlling for confounders, adjusting odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for prediabetes were determined for different healthy dietary practices using multivariable logistic regression analysis. Compared with adolescents who engaged in healthy dietary practices, those who did not had a 1.63-fold (95% CI: 1.12-2.37) higher odds of prediabetes. In addition, adolescents who did not consume ≥500 g of fruit and vegetables daily and those who refrained from reading nutritional fact labels, which are both subindicators of healthy dietary practices, had a 1.66 (95% CI: 1.05-2.62) and 1.58-fold (95% CI: 1.06-2.37) higher odds of prediabetes, respectively, than those who did. Increasing the proportion of adolescents engaging in healthy dietary practices, such as consuming ≥500 g of fruit and vegetables daily and reading nutritional fact labels when selecting food, is imperative.
In this study, we propose a novel approach to analyze big data related to patents in the field of smart factories, utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling method and the generative artificial intelligence technology, ChatGPT. Our method includes extracting valuable insights from a large data-set of associated patents using LDA to identify latent topics and their corresponding patent documents. Additionally, we validate the suitability of the topics generated using generative AI technology and review the results with domain experts. We also employ the powerful big data analysis tool, KNIME, to preprocess and visualize the patent data, facilitating a better understanding of the global patent landscape and enabling a comparative analysis with the domestic patent environment. In order to explore quantitative and qualitative comparative advantages at this juncture, we have selected six indicators for conducting a quantitative analysis. Consequently, our approach allows us to explore the distinctive characteristics and investment directions of individual countries in the context of research and development and commercialization, based on a global-scale patent analysis in the field of smart factories. We anticipate that our findings, based on the analysis of global patent data in the field of smart factories, will serve as vital guidance for determining individual countries' directions in research and development investment. Furthermore, we propose a novel utilization of GhatGPT as a tool for validating the suitability of selected topics for policy makers who must choose topics across various scientific and technological domains.
This study aimed to determine the association between household types and healthy dietary practices among Korean adults. A cross-sectional analysis was performed using nationwide data on 23,488 participants from the 2017-2021 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Based on self-reported data, the participant household types were classified into single- and multi-person households. The adjusted odds ratios (AORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for healthy dietary practices according to household types were calculated by applying multivariable logistic regression analysis after adjusting for confounders. Of total, 11.21% and 88.79% were single- and multi-person households, respectively. Compared with individuals living in multi-person households, those in single-person households had lower odds of adhering to healthy dietary practices (AOR: 0.88, 95% CI: 0.79-0.98) and consuming adequate saturated fatty acids (<7% of energy) (AOR: 0.78, 95% CI: 0.69-0.88). In addition, men and individuals aged 65 years living in single-person households exhibited lower odds of consuming adequate saturated fatty acids and 500 g of fruit and vegetables per day than those in multi-person households. Single-person households often find it a challenge to practice a healthy diet. Hence, nutritional policies and educational support that help individuals living alone consume healthier diets are warranted.
호산구성 장염에 의한 급성 췌장염은 매우 드문 질환으로 증상 및 검사실 소견이 특별하지 않아 진단이 어렵다. 급성 췌장염의 원인이 명확하지 않은 경우, 가능한 원인으로 매우 드물지만 호산구성 위장염이 있을 수 있으며, 본 저자들은 호산구성 위십이지장염에 의해 발생한 재발성 급성 췌장염을 진단하고 류코트리엔 수용체 길항제로 치료하였던 증례를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고한다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between household economic changes by COVID-19 and dietary habits in Korean adolescents. The study analyzed data from the 17th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey in 2021. A total of 54,848 middle and high school students, 28,401 males and 26,447 females, participated in this study. COVID-19 lead to deterioration of household economy in the lower level of household economic status (p<0.001). The deterioration of household economic status by COVID-19 was associated with dietary habits such as lower breakfast intake, and higher fast food, soda drinks, and sweet drinks consumption (p<0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that deterioration of household economic status was significantly decreased in frequency of breakfast intake (OR: 0.73, 95% CI: 0.67~0.80). The deterioration of household economic status by COVID-19 was also significantly associated with increased frequency of fast food (OR: 1.28, 95% CI: 1.16~1.41), soda drinks (OR: 1.42, 95% CI: 1.30~1.56) and sweet drinks (OR: 1.35, 95% CI: 1.24~1.46) consumption (p<0.001). In conclusion, it was confirmed that the change in household economy caused by COVID-19 was associated with dietary habits in adolescents. As the household economy deteriorated, there was an increase in undesirable dietary habits including skipping breakfast and fast food consumption.
We performed a study to examine the association between diet quality and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Our study included 3,586 women aged 40-64 years who participated in the sixth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The study subjects were classified into the NAFLD group (n=816) and the normal group (n=2,770) using the hepatic steatosis index. The anthropometric indices, blood profiles, and dietary intake data of the subjects were obtained. The waist circumference, body mass index, and the serum levels of triglycerides, fasting blood sugar, HbA1c, and systolic and diastolic blood pressures were higher in the NAFLD compared to the normal groups (p<0.001, respectively). The intakes of protein (g/kg body weight, p<0.001), potassium (p<0.001), and vitamin A (p=0.006) were significantly lower in the NAFLD group. It was observed that the higher the total Korean Healthy Eating Index score, the lower the risk of NAFLD. A reverse relationship was shown between the NAFLD risk and the intakes of total fruits, total vegetables, vegetables excluding Kimchi and pickled vegetables, meat, fish, eggs and beans. Therefore, it is recommended that middleaged women in Korea increase their intakes of fruits, vegetables, and foods high in protein for the proper management of NAFLD.
Ensuring the safe arrival of delivery cargo at its intended destination is of utmost importance. Truck drivers play a crucial role in guaranteeing the secure delivery of cargo without any mishaps. However, there are various factors that may lead to delayed arrival of trucks at their destination, such as late departures or prolonged loading operations. The timely departure of cargo transportation is contingent upon several variables, including the driver's experience, cargo volume, and loading time. If the transportation commencement is delayed, it may increase the risk of accidents due to an elevated operating speed. Consequently, we conducted a study to investigate the correlation between cargo loading time, cargo volume, driving experience, and the likelihood of accidents. Our findings indicate that both cargo volume and driver experience can impact the likelihood of vehicle accidents. Furthermore, all factors can have an interactive effect on the occurrence of accidents. However, extending the loading time may mitigate the impact on the likelihood of accidents.
SOCS3, a suppressor of cytokine signaling 3, is known as a negative regulator of various cytokines and a tumor suppressor gene in human tumors. This study aimed to investigate the role of SOCS3 in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and its impact on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in OSCC cells. Although SOCS3 is recognized as a negative regulator of various cytokines and a tumor suppressor gene in human tumors, its specific effects on OSCC remain poorly understood.
For the assessment of SOCS3 expression in OSCC, the UALCAN website and TCGA data were used to evaluate its expression in head and neck cancer. Additionally, immunohistochemical staining was conducted to determine the SOCS3 expression specifically in OSCC. The findings indicated a significant decrease in SOCS3 expression in tumor tissue compared to that in normal tissues.
To investigate the enhancement of SOCS3 expression in OSCC cancer cell lines, IL6 treatment was administered to MC3 cells. However, no significant differences were observed in cell viability, wound healing assay, and invasion assay. Conversely, the transfection of SOCS3 siRNA into OSCC cells led to a notable increase in cell viability and statistically significant increases in wound healing and invasion assays. These results suggest that SOCS3 plays a crucial role in cell viability and EMT in OSCC, thereby contributing to oral carcinogenesis. Further research is necessary to elucidate the precise role of SOCS3 in OSCC.
