        A consumer psychologist observes someone make a choice between chocolate cake and fruit salad, a classic measure of self-control (Shiv & Fedorikhin, 1999). Since the cake is relatively tastier but unhealthier (i.e., a vice; Wertenbroch, 1998), a choice of cake is interpreted as a lack of self-control, whereas a choice of fruit salad (a virtue) is viewed as successful self-control. The simplicity and intuitive appeal of this heuristic has led it to be widely adopted by consumer psychologists. However, a comprehensive understanding of the operation of self-control requires food consumption to be analyzed as a two-stage process: choice followed by intake quantity (Wansink & Chandon, 2014). Self-control processes may be relevant to both stages of a decision of what to eat (choice stage) and a decision of how much to eat the chosen option (quantity stage)—they may influence both choice and quantity. Examining the role of self-control in terms of post-choice quantity control is critical since over-consumption of calories is the single most significant contributor to obesity (Livingston & Zylke, 2012). The overconsumption problem is not an exclusive matter of vice foods. Eating virtuous foods can result in excessive calorie intake and thus consumers need to control the intake of virtues as well as vices.

        Purpose: This study aims to identify the degree of intention to hand hygiene and hand hygiene behavior in new nurses based on education experience on infection control. Method: The participants comprised 108 new nurses working in a general hospital in S city, Korea. Data were collected from September to December, 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson correlation with SPSS 26.0 program. Results: There were statistically significant differences in intention to hand hygiene (F=3.39, p=.021) and hand hygiene behavior (F=3.33, p=.022) depending on education experience related to infection control during undergraduate courses. Hand hygiene intention (F=4.41, p=.008) and hand hygiene behavior (F=4.13, p=.008) showed statistically significant differences depending on educational satisfaction with infection control during undergraduate courses. There were significant positive correlations between intention to hand hygiene and hand hygiene behavior (r=.21, p=.026). Conclusion: This suggests that education in infection control can reinforce intention to hand hygiene and hand hygiene behavior in new nurses.

        Background: Visual and somatosensory integration processing is needed to reduce pusher behavior (PB) and improve postural control in hemiplegic patients with acute stroke. Objects: This study aimed to investigate the effects of game-based postural vertical training (GPVT) on PB, postural control, and activity daily living (ADL) in acute stroke patients. Methods: Fourteen participants with acute stroke (<2 months post-stroke) who had PB according to the Burke lateropulsion scale (BLS) (score>2) were randomly divided into the GPVT group (n1=7) and conventional postural vertical training (CPVT) group (n2=7). The GPVT group performed game-based postural vertical training using a whole-body tilt apparatus. while the CPVT group performed conventional postural vertical training to reduce PB (30 minutes/session, 2 times/day, 5 days/week for 3 consecutive weeks). The BLS was evaluated to assess the severity of PB. And each subject’s postural control ability and ADL level were assessed using the postural assessment scale for stroke (PASS), balance posture ratio (BPR), and Korean-modified Barthel index (K-MBI). Outcomes were measured preand post-intervention. Results: Comparison of the pre- and post-intervention assessment results showed that both interventions led to the following significant changes: decreased severity of PB scores and increased PASS, BPR, and K-MBI scores (p<.05). In particular, statistical analysis between the two groups, the BLS score was significantly decreased in the GPVT group (p<.05). And PASS, BPR, and K-MBI scores were significantly improved in the GPVT group than in the CPVT group (p<.01, respectively). Conclusion: This study demonstrated that GPVT lessened PB severity and improved postural control ability and ADL levels in acute stroke patients.

        문제적 과잉 성 행동은 성 충동과 각성을 통제하지 못하는 것과 관련이 있으며, 억제 기능을 담당하는 뇌 영역의 구조적, 기능적 변화와 관련이 있음이 밝혀졌다. 그러나 아직까지 문제적 과잉 성 행동의 휴지기 상태 시 뇌의 기능적 연결성에 관한 연구는 거의 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자기공명영상장치를 사용하여 휴지기 상태 시 문제적 과잉 성 행동자의 집행 통제 회로(RECN, LECN)의 기능적 연결성의 결함을 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 17명의 문제적 과잉 성 행동자와 인구통계학적 특성이 유사한 20명의 정상대조군을 대상으로 휴지기 상태 시 자기공명영상데이터가 획득하였다. 실행기능 제어 회로(LECN, RECN)와 관련된 영역을 관심 뇌 영역으로 선정하였으며, 이들 영역간 시계열 신호와의 상관계수를 기능 연결성 정도로 가정하고 집단 간 비교 검증을 하였다. 그 결과, 정상대조군과 문제적 과잉 성행동군의 집행 통제회로의 기능적 연결 강도에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 즉, 정상대조군에 비해 문제적 과잉 성행동군은 상/중전두회와 미상핵, 상/중전두회와 두정회의 기능적 연결성이 저하된 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 이 영역간 기능적 연결강도는 과잉 성 행동 지수와 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 문제적 과잉 성행동자들이 성 충동과 각성을 제어하지 못하는 것이 집행 통제회로의 기능적 연결성 저하와 관련이 있음을 시사한다.

        In the case of the visually impaired, in order to pick up an object, the entire shape is grasped while straddling the object first. When we grasp the characteristics of the object sufficiently by using the tactile sense of the hand, we touch the point which is the center of gravity and listen to the object once. When you want to perform object-graping with only the tactile sense under the conditions of other senses, such as vision, a series of actions is repeated. This paper deals with the behavior based control study of the robot hand using the tactile sense and applied to the 4 DOF hand developed by our laboratory by evolving the subsumption architecture (SA) proposed by R.Brooks.

        The bean bug is one of major hemipteran pests against the soybean, Glycine max in Korea. Gene expression regulation technologies such as RNA interference and gene editing have emerged as a next generation pest control strategy in agriculture. To search genes effective to feeding inhibition with exogenous dsRNA, a total of 26,761 transcripts were obtained from salivary glands of the bean bug and several target gene candidates such as GPCR, OBP, and CSP were profiled in this study. On the other hand, 1st instar nymphs of the bean bug after hatching were highly attracted to water and absorbed about 701.5 ± 137.72 ㎍/individual/day, suggesting that it could be a practical way for RNA interference by feeding exogenous dsRNA dissolved in water. These preliminary results are expected to be helpful to investigate novel pest control strategy of R. pedestris in the future.

        Since people spend more than 85% of their time indoors, understanding indoor aerosol behavior is important in order to protect human health against aerosol exposure. In this article, exposure, behavior, and control technologies for indoor aerosols are addressed. Previous studies conducted in Korea during the period from 2004 to 2016 were reviewed. Most studies were focused on field surveys of PM10 concentration in public facilities regulated by law. More fundamental studies are needed in order to control indoor aerosols effectively due to the fact that Korea has different building structures and lifestyles compared with western countries.

        최근 이상적인 자연현상으로 인해 돌풍, 태풍 및 쓰나미 등 비상상황이 자주 발생하고 있고, 이로 인해 항내 계류선박은 선체거동을 미리 예측하여 해석하고, 선체거동을 제어하지 못해 계류선박의 계류시스템이 손상되면 해양사고가 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 계류시스템의 손상이 예상되는 경우 정량적 판단에 의해 항내 계류할 것인지 아니면 항외로 피항할 것인지 결정할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 외력에 의한 계류선박의 거동해석 및 계류시스템 제어를 위해 대학내 전용 부두에 계류중인 실습선을 대상으로 계류안전성을 평가하였다. 계류삭의 최대장력을 분석한 결과, 파주기 12초 및 15초인 경우에는 대부분 허용강도(S.W.L)를 초과하는 것으로 분석되었다. 계선주에 작용하는 최대견인력을 분석한 결과, 해당 위치에 설치된 지 노후화된 소형 계선주에 다수의 계류삭을 체결함으로서 모든 평가 Case에서 계선주 허용규격인 35톤을 초과하는 것으로 분석되었다. 선체동요 및 하역안전성 평가결과 파주기 12초 이상 및 풍속 25노트 조건에서는 Surge 운동의 한계값인 3.0미터를 초과하는 것으로 분석되었다. 그 결과를 토대로 계류시스템 제어를 위한 판단기준이 되는 풍속, 파고 및 파주기 등의 주요 외력조건별 고위험, 위험 및 보통 위험 등 3단계의 리스크 매트릭스(Risk Matrix)를 작성하여, 계류시스템 제어를 위한 판단기준이 되는 위기관리 대응매뉴얼로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        This study aimed to examine the effects of transformational leadership on employees’ trust, perceived support from superiors, organizational citizenship behavior, and moderating effects of locus of control. Using the Amos program, this study tested reliability and fitness of the research model and verified five hypotheses based on empirical data from 233 employee samples in coffee shops. The result of this study shows that positive consideration and charisma of transformational leadership positively influenced employees’ level of trust toward superiors and perceived support from superiors. Trust had positive effects on promotion of organizational citizenship behavior of employees. Lastly, analysis of the moderating effect of locus of control showed that a lower level of extrinsic control and higher level of intrinsic control were both positively correlated with greater receptiveness to transformational leadership. The findings in this study identified several significant factors of employee effectiveness influenced by transformational leadership in the coffee shop industry. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

        This research is the preliminary study for development of narrative contents for improving reading skills and behavior controlling capabilities of children with ADHD. Microsoft's Kinect, a non-contact motion sensing device, and NeuroSky's MindWave, a BCI device, are connected to Unity 3D engine to capture user's motion and brainwaves, respectively. The given narrative contents interactively respond to children with ADHD while they are reading the contents and performing the given tasks presented in the behavior training game system. This study examines whether the contents are suitable for the first and second grader children. For this, The interaction with the contents is first observed by five adults and two children. Then the system is tested by three ordinary first graders. During the experiments, the children easily figure out the given texts and do what the game contents drive for the player to react. All three kids concentrate on the reading contents without leaving their seats for average 37 minutes. This experiment shows that the contents are properly designed for the first and second graders in terms of reading speed, reading completion time, complexity level, and task performance. Based on this experimental study, the interactive narrative contents will be used to conduct full-scale experiments with children with ADHD.

        The researches related to active control systems utilizing superelastic shape memory alloys (SMA) have been recently conducted to reduce critical damage due to lateral deformation after severe earthquakes. Although Superelastic SMAs undergo considerable inelastic deformation, they can return to original conditions without heat treatment only after stress removal. We can expect the mitigation of residual deformation owing to inherent recentering characteristics when these smart materials are installed at the part where large deformation is likely to occur. Therefore, the primary purpose of this research is to develop concentrically braced frames (CBFs) with superelastic SMA bracing systems and to evaluate the seismic performance of such frame structures. In order to investigate the inter-story drift response of CBF structures, 3- and 6-story buildings were design according to current design specifications, and then nonlinear time-history analyses were performed on numerical 2D frame models. Based on the numerical analysis results, it can be comparatively verified that the CBFs with superelastic SMA bracing systems have more structural advantages in terms of energy dissipation and recentering behavior than those with conventional steel bracing systems.

        This study was performed to investigate the eating habit, body image, and weight control behavior by BMI in Korean female high school students. Data on the 16, 574 subjects was obtained from the sixth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (2010). Only 52.2% of the subjects had regular breakfast. The rate of skipping breakfast was higher in the underweight group than in the obese group, but the rate of skipping dinner was on the contrary to this. Underweight students had a higher intake frequency of fruits, fast food, instant noodle, and snacks than the obese groups. 3.5% of underweight students considered themselves to be overweight or obese. 53.4% of obese students considered themselves to be overweight. The experience of weight control increased according to BMI, but underweight students considered weight control as an effort to be slimmer. Meal restriction was used more frequently to control weight. The perceived stress level was higher in obese student, especially due to appearance. Therefore, an appropriate, integrated and personalized high school nutrition program should be established for proper body image perception and to develop the self-esteem of female high school students.

        This study aimed to find the differences in weight control status and eating behavior of satisfied and dissatisfied female high school students regarding their own body shape. The participants consisted of 238 students at two female high schools in Nonsan-si, Chungnam-do in May of 2008. Self-assessment evaluated present body shape and ideal body shape they would like to have by providing silhouette drawings. The subjects were divided into two groups, 'satisfied' and 'dissatisfied', according to the differences between present body shape and ideal body shape. In the distribution of subjects according to body mass index, 100% of overweight, 97.0% of normal weight and 48.7% of underweight belonged to the dissatisfied group. There were significant differences in weight control and eating behavior between dissatisfied and satisfied groups in terms of frequency and reasons of conducting weight control behavior, body weight return after weight reduction, skipping breakfast and consuming fast food. The satisfied group was two times more likely to not conduct weight control behaviors compared to the dissatisfied group. The main reason for trying to control weight differed according to the group; the reason was feeling fat in the dissatisfied group and desiring to be healthy in the satisfied group. The percentage of subjects that returned to their original weights after weight reduction was 5 times higher in the dissatisfied group. The percentages of subjects that regularly skip breakfast and consume fast food were both higher in the dissatisfied group than in the satisfied group. The dissatisfied group responded 'eating alone' more frequently among nine binge eating behaviors compared to the satisfied group. Both groups, however, did not show any difference in overeating of meals, eating speed, intake frequency of regular meals, food preference, preferred cooking method, carbonated beverage intake and snack eating behavior. In summary, the dissatisfied group tried more unnecessary body weight reduction and had poor eating behavior. Accordingly, to correct the biased perception of body shape by the majority of female high school students, the values of our society should change toward the pursuit of beauty of health.

        구조물에 대한 진동제어 기술은 지금까지 일반 라멘구조물을 대상으로 하여 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 공간구조물은 일반 라멘구조물과는 다른 동적응답특성을 가지고 있기 때문에 일반 라멘구조물을 대상을 개발된 진동제어 기술을 공간구조물에 적용시키기에는 불확실한 요소가 존재하게 된다. 본 논문은 대공간구조물 중에서 자중이 비교적 커서 지진응답이 크게 나타나는 트러스 형태의 아치 구조물을 대상으로 하여 수동형 TMD 설치 위치 및 질량비에 따른 제어성능을 분석하였다. 예제 아치구조물의 TMD 설치 위치에 따른 진동응답 분석결과, 모드벡터가 가장 큰 위지에 TMD를 설치하는 것이 가장 제어성능이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 TMD 의 질량비 변화에 따른 진동응답 분석결과, 질량비가 약 2%인 경우에 가장 효율적인 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

        A MOCS(Mobile Ondol heating Control System) is designed for the context-aware inference and the control of the device using mobile phone. The MOCS prepares indoor thermal environments and corresponds to the situation like resident’s coming home. Ondol Heater can be controlled as if the resident came home already. The MOCS adopts direct or indirect awareness of context in housing environment. In this research, it deals with the system making up with agent control module for the direct control and DBMS including the inference for the indirect control. Agent control module is made up of MainServer module for receiving control command and HomeAgent module that operates transmission and receiver by USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) device. DBMS consists of the event log data and the control log data including various databases. The structure of database has systemic information using the hierarchy of physical and electronic context for the inference. Furthermore, we suggest and implement what to provide, control and manage the home service in the mobile environment. Finally, it is expected to embody the ubiquitous housing and apply an ondol heating system communicating between human and home at anytime and in anyplace.

        게임에 현실과 비슷한 공간을 표현하게 되면서, 좀 더 사실적인 게임 공간을 만들어 내는 것이 매우 중요한 요소가 되었다. 그러나 정해진 틀 안에서 제한된 반응만을 보이는 NPC는 사용자가 지루함을 느끼고 게임에 대한 흥미를 잃게 만든다. 이는 NPC의 행동 생성과 제어 방법이 미흡하기 때문이다. 본 논문은 RPG류 등의 공간을 탐색하는 게임 환경에서 NPC가 자신의 상태에 따라 다른 행동을 취하고, 뷰포인트와 관계없이 ‘생활하는’ NPC에 대해 기술한다. 이 연구를 토대로 NPC의 행동을 스크립트 언어로 출력하는 행동 생성기를 제작하고 실제 생성된 NPC의 행동 패턴을 분석하여 봄으로써 본 연구가 NPC의 효과적인 행동 생성에 도움이 됨을 보인다.

        게임에서의 지능형 NPC는 게임 사용자와 상호작용을 수행하는 대표적인 객체로 게임의 재미를 극대화하기 위해 다양한 역할을 수행하도록 모델링 된다. 사용자와 NPC의 상호작용에는 감성적 상호작용을 포함하여, 이러한 감성적 상호작용은 감성 표출을 의미하는 행동 제어를 통해 다양성을 갖도록 표현된다. 본 연구에서는 게임 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 객체 간 감성적 상황정보에 따라 NPC의 행동을 제어할 수 있도록 하기 위해 NPC의 성격 모델을 설계한다. 특히 AHP를 이용한 NPC의 성격 모델링을 통해 모델링 시점에서 유추 가능한 NPC의 성격 모델링 방법과 얻어진 성격 모델을 이용해 NPC 행동 제어 방안을 제안한다.
