Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can adversely affect human and plant health by generating secondary pollutants such as ozone and fine particulate matter, through photochemical reactions, necessitating systematic management. This study investigated the distribution characteristics of gaseous VOCs in ambient air, with a focus on interpreting data from a photochemical pollution perspective. This paper analyzed the presence and concentration distribution of VOCs in industrial areas, identifying toluene, m-xylene, p-xylene, and n-octane as the most frequently detected components. Particularly, toluene was found to significantly contribute to the formation of ozone and fine particulate matter, highlighting the need for stricter regulation of this compound. Although n-octane and styrene were present in relatively low concentrations overall, their significant contributions to ozone generation and secondary organic aerosol formation, respectively, emphasize their importance in air pollution management.
Biological control in agriculture is an eco-friendly pest management method. Numerous parasitoid wasps have been utilized as natural enemies and biological control agents. However, due to a shortage of fundamental taxonomic information caused by taxonomic impediments, there are challenges in unveiling and developing hymenopteran biological control agents. Braconidae, the second-largest family in Hymenoptera, comprises approximately 25,000 species described and recorded. All known braconids attack only insect hosts, with many members exhibiting high host specificity. Leveraging their unique biology, many braconid species have been tested in biological control research, and some have been developed as commercial products. To create a synergistic effect between biological control and taxonomic research and to discover effective biological control agents, several collaborative research projects have been conducted. In this presentation, these collaborative research projects will highlight the critical role of bridging taxonomic knowledge and biological control expertise, offering potential solutions for more effective and sustainable pest management practices in agriculture.
The goal of the current study was to estimate the contribution of poultry farm vehicle movement frequency to the 2014 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) epidemic using both global and local regression models. On one hand, the global model did not consider the hypothesis that a relationship between predictors and the outcome variable might vary across the country (spatially homogeneous), while on the other hand, the local model considered that there was spatial heterogeneity within the country. The HPAI outbreak status in each province was used as a dependent variable and the number of poultry farm vehicle movements within each province (within variable), the number of poultry farm vehicle movement from one province to another province (outbound variable), the number of poultry farm vehicle movements from other provinces to one province (inbound variable), and the number of poultry farms in each province were included in the model as independent variables. The results of a global model were as follows: estimated coefficient of the log-transformed within variable was 0.73, that of the log-transformed outbound variable was 2.04, that of the log-transformed inbound variable was 0.74, and that of the number of poultry farms was 1.08. Only the number of poultry farms was a statistically significant variable (p-value < 0.001). The AIC score of the global model was 1397.5. The results of the local model were as follows: estimated median coefficient of the log-transformed within variable was 0.75, that of the log-transformed outbound variable was 2.54, that of the log-transformed inbound variable was 0.60, and that of the number of poultry farms was 0.07. The local model’s AIC score was 1382.2. The results of our study indicate that a local model would provide a better understanding of the relationship between HPAI outbreak status and poultry farm vehicle movements than that provided by a global model.
1. 농촌개발협력 사업을 대상으로 SDSN의 공개작업반이 목표별로 제안하고 있는 SDGs지표와 선진 공여기관 및 국제기구(DFID, FAO, WB, 한국국제협력단 등)들이 사용하고 있는 기존 지표의 연계가능성을 검토하기 위해 동 분야 국내 전문가들을 25명을 대상으로 설문을 실시한 후 결과를 제시하였음. 2. ‘농업·농촌분야 SDG 지표 활용을 통한 성과 측정 방안’으로 중남미 농업·농촌 분야 개발협력 사업별에 대한 SDGs 기여 정도 측정안을 제시하였고, SDGs 성과지표 활용방안 제시를 위해 최근 KOICA가 추진한 중남미 농업·농촌분야 개발협력 사업 중 볼리비아 종합개발사업을 실례로 선정하여 분석하였음. 3. 농촌개발협력사업의 성과관리를 위해 SDGs 성과지표를 선정하고 SDGs 목표에 대한 기여 정도를 정량화하여 시범적으로 적용하는 방안을 제시함으로써 SDGs 목표별 기여 정도를 측정한다면 향후 우리나라의 개발협력 사업이 국제사회에 기여하는 정도를 정량화할 수 있고 , 이러한 방식의 도입은 보다 효과적인 개발협력 사업 추진을 위한 자료 및 정보를 제공하는 측면에서 의미가 있음.
Overseas R&D subsidiaries contribute to the cross -border knowledge sourcing of MNC headquarter by providing tacit and context specific knowledge and reducing the searching cost of the headquarter
본 연구는 현대 성서번역의 핵심적 인물인 유진 나이다와 윌리엄 카메론 타운트의 비교 연구를 통해 현대 성서번역의 중요성을 조사한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 다음과 같은 논지를 펴고 있다. 첫째, 교회의 선교 역사에서 하나님은 각 시대별로 촉매적 역할을 하는 인물들을 사용하시며, 둘째, 그들의 선교 방법론은 고정되어 있기 보다는 역동적으로 시대와 상황에 맞게 새로운 형태의 조직을 이용한다는 점이다. 또한 본 연구를 통해 드러난 몇 가지 사실은 타운젠트는 성서 번역의 선교학적인 면에 공을 들인 반면에, 나이다는 성서 번역의 학문성에 초점을 맞추었다는 점에서 차이가 있다는 점이다. 그리고 이들의 성서 번역에 대한 새로운 접근법들은 식민주의에서 민족주의로 전환할 수 있는 계기를 마련해 준다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 그리고 하나님의 선교는 그 시대의 상황과 필요에 적합한 창의적인 사고와 새로운 형태의 모임들을 통해 활성화 된다는 것을 이 연구는 말해준다.
The purpose of this currents study was to examine the contributions of the contributions of leadership functions, supervision, and working motivation on teachers’ performance at public elementary school in one of the sub-districts in Jambi Province, Sumatra, Indonesia. Data were collected through a questionnaire from 122 teachers. The data were analyzed by using the descriptive analysis and regression analysis techniques, assistanced by the statistical application of the SPSS release 16.0. The findings of this study indicated that the leadership function included very high category with a mean value of 3.2657, supervision with a mean of 3.2608, motivation with a mean value of 3.3465, and teachers’ performance with the mean value of 3.4447. The findings of the simple regression analysis with a single-step method (entered) also indicated that the contribution of leadership function to teachers’ performance with a value of R Square was 47.6%, the contribution of supervision to teachers’ performance with a value of R Square was 45.3%, and the contribution of work motivation to teachers’ performance with a value of R Square was 69.3%. Furthermore, the findings of multiple the regression analysis showed that the contribution of leadership function, supervision, and working motivation altogether to teachers’ performance with the value of R Square was 74.3%. This study provided information for policy makers, school leaders, researchers, and teacher educators to understand how the contributions of the contributions of leadership functions, supervision, and working motivation affect teachers’ performance.
본 연구는 조직 내 교환관계에서 부하에게 제공되는 다수의 보상원천에 대해 상사와 부하가 이것을 다양한 원천이라고 지각하는가 아니면 동일한 원천이라고 지각하는가에 대한 질문에 답하기 위하여 수행되었다.이러한 물음에 답하기 위하여 먼저 상사로부터 많은 보상을 제공받는다고(상사로부터의 유인) 지각하는 부하들은 그들의 상사를 만족시킬 수 있는 성과를 보일 것(부하의 기여)이라는 가설 1을 설정하였다.둘째,직무로부터 많은 보상을 제공받는다고(직무로부터의 유인)지각하는 부하들은 직무를 수행하는데 더 많은 시간과 에너지를 기울일 것(직무에 대한 기여)이라는 가설 2를 설정하였다.이러한 두 가지 가설은 조직 내 교환관계에서 상사와 직무로부터의 보상에 대해 상사와 부하가 다양한 보상원천이라고 지각하는 것을 의미한다.이러한 견해와는 반대로 상사와 부하가 다양한 보상원천을 동일하다고 지각하는 경우 상사로부터의 보상과 상사를 만족시킬만한 성과의 제공 그리고 직무로부터의 보상과 직무에 대한 시간과 노력의 투입이 하나의 네트워크를 이룬다는 가설 3을 설정하였다.이와 더불어 상사는 상사-부하 간 유인과 기여와 직무로부터의 유인과 기여를 구별하지 않는 반면, 부하는 상사-부하 간 유인과 기여, 직무로부터의 유인과 기여를 구별할 것이란 가설 4를 설정하였다. 10명의 상사와 76명의 부하를 대상으로 세 차례에 걸친 상사와 부하의 응답 각각을 분석한 결과 부하들은 상사-부하 간 유인과 기여와 직무로부터의 유인과 기여를 각각 구별하는 것으로 나타난 반면 상사는 상사-부하 간 유인과 기여와 직무로부터의 유인과 기여를 구별하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 본 연구에서 제시한 가설 4가 뒷받침되었다는 것을 보여준다. 결론부분에서는 본 연구결과가 가지는 의미를 상사의 관점, 부하의 관점, 그리고 상사와 부하의 관점으로 구분하여 논의가 이루어졌다. 특히 상사의 관점에서 상사들이 유인과 기여의 두 가지 모형을 구분하지 않는 이유를 후광효과(halo effect) 측면에서 논의하였으며 본 연구가 가지는 한계점과 추후 연구방향에 대한 논의 역시 이루어졌다.
The main aim of this study is to propose a conceptual model for marketers’ contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. Thus, this study could possibly reveal synergies between Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility Programs (CSR). Customers have expectations that firms need to carry out CSR activities and hence customers have various responses towards companies’ CSR actions. This implies that marketers’ contributions seem necessary in the development and implementation of CSR programs. This research provides a conceptual model to examine possible synergies between marketing and CSR. Based on the resource based theory of firms, it can be argued that marketers need to contribute to CSR initiatives. From the perspective of return on investments on CSR activities, CSR programs can be viewed as being philanthropic or strategic in nature. Customers tend to respond to both of these CSR types. Hence we propose that contribution of marketers seems important to both kinds of CSR, which in turn would increase customer satisfaction about CSR programs. Consequently, companies’ performance can be enhanced. A mix method is proposed for this study. It is envisaged that in near future, this conceptual model would be empirically tested by collecting data from customers and marketing managers of the Sri Lankan financial institutions. This research concludes with practical implications.
This study investigates the effects of the purpose of fishery firms’social contributions on consumers’ purchase intention as a mediator or their fishery firms’brand evaluation. We surveyed 300 consumers in order to empirically test the suggested relationship. The purpose of fishery firms’social contributions was divided into social contribution activities and public interest marketing strategies. Fishery firms’brand evaluation was divided into three aspects including brand awareness, brand image, and brand loyalty. The results showed that the purpose of fishery firms’social contributions significantly affect consumers’purchase intention, brand loyalty as well as brand image except brand awareness. Fishery firms’brand evaluation significantly affect consumers’purchase intention. This study suggests that social contribution activities and public interest marketing strategies are essential for the positive brand evaluation of fishery firms.
본 연구는 논토양에서 돈분액비의 시용이 화본과 및 두과 녹비작물의 생육과 양분공급량에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해, 화본과 녹비작물과 두과 녹비작물을 파종하여 돈분액비 시용유무에 따라 biomass 및 양분공급량을 조사하였다. 파종된 화본과 녹비작물은 호밀(Secale cereale L.)과 청보리(Hordeum vulgare L.)이었으며, 두과 녹비작물은 자운영(Astragalus sinicus L.)과 헤어리베치(Vicia villosa roth)이었다. 돈분액비를 투입함에 따라 녹비작물의 biomass는 유의성 있게 증가하였으며, 돈분액비 무시용구 대비 돈분액비 시용구의 biomass 증가율은 청보리(154%) > 호밀(138%) > 헤어리베치(45%) > 자운영(41%)순으로 높았다. 녹비작물의 양분공급량도 biomass와 마찬가지로 돈분액비를 투입함에 따라 유의성 있게 증가하는 경향이었으며, 돈분액비 무시용구 대비 돈분액비 시용구의 N, P2O5 및 K2O 공급량은 각각 205∼220, 109∼197 및 166∼184% 범위이었다. 돈분액비를 투입함에 따른 녹비작물의 biomass와 양분공급량 증가율은 전반적으로 두과 녹비작물보다 화본과 녹비작물에서 매우 우수한 경향이었다. 특히, 화본과 녹비작물의 증가된 양분공급량은 두과 녹비작물에 비해 약 3배 정도 더 높았다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 돈분액비 시용에 따른 양분이용효율은 화본과 녹비작물(호밀 및 청보리)이 두과 녹비작물(자운영 및 헤어리베치)에 비해 더 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.
Since Linneaus (1758) named 4,162 species of living organism, 1.75 milion species have been described and named. It is less than 20% of the commonly accepted estimates of 10 million species on the planet earth. An average of 7,000 species per year was described during last 250 years, and, at this rate of species description, it will take another 1400 years to complete documentation of them. Who will do it? The real facing problem is the number of trained and practising taxonomists is declining worldwide at a time when demands for taxonomic science are increasing. A recent estimate suggests that the number of professional taxonomists worldwide is only 4,000-6,000 (Haas and Hauser, 2006). How about the situation is in Korea? In addition, the change of weather and the global warming accelerates more frequent invasion of harmful subtropical species, and taxonomist’s activity is needed more than ever. In shortly speaking, we are facing with a taxonomic “crisis” with erosion of taxonomy during last decades. The major reason is maybe that systematics has made little impact on the science with a narrow intellectual perspective, and most taxonomists have become accustomed to working on their speciality taxon without concern for relating their work to other broader environmental and societal issues in the facing with the global warming; e.g., invasive species, quarantine, use of bioresources, and ecosystem services. There is no question that taxonomy is the fundamental disciplines of biology, however, first of all, taxonomists should realize that how their research is related to other related sciences and how they make collaborative works. Especially, the basic taxonomic knowledge and skills generated by taxonomists is more needed to cope with the change of weather, due to the global warming which make critical change of the ecological structure in nature.
In the presentation, the strategy for innovation of the living organism on our planet, with a crisis of taxonomy, will be discussed, and emphasized how taxonomists serve and contribute to other related topics. In addition, author will introduce his acitivity for innovation works on Lepidoptera, representing more than 500 new species and 23 new genera of moths described worldwide during last 40 years of his taxonomic research. The total number of new species described in Korea by him is 104 species, including 57 species of Gelechiidae, and more than 400 species and 22 new genera in the subtropical region, including Thailand, Vietnam, and New Guinea. Will it be possible to exceed 500 insect species described worldwide by a taxonomist in future?
Indoor air quality can be affected by indoor sources, ventilation, decay and outdoor levels. Although technologies exist to measure these factors, direct measurements are often difficult. Toluene and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) concentrations of residential indoor and outdoor were simultaneously measured and compared in 16 houses, using passive samplers during every 3 days for 60 days. Concentrations of toluene and NO2 were analyzed by gas chromatography and spectrophotometer, respectively. Using a mass balance model, penetration factor (ventilation rate divided by sum of ventilation rate and deposition constant) and source generation factor (source generation rate divided by sum of ventilation rate and deposition constant) were calculated by multiple indoor and outdoor measurements. The mean contributions of toluene of indoor and outdoor sources on residential indoor air quality were estimated to be 31.01% and 67.00%, respectively. On the other hand, mean contributions of NO2 were 58.93% and 41.06%, respectively. These results could be explained that contributions of indoor and outdoor air pollutants sources are different to residential indoor air concentrations. In conclusion, contributions of outdoor air and indoor sources affecting indoor air quality were effectively characterized using multiple indoor and outdoor measurements.
