본 논문은 모바일 폰 사진을 활용하여 도시 공간에서 전력선과 건물 사이의 거리를 편리하게 모델링하고 측정하는 방법에 중점을 두고 있으며, 이에 대한 정확성을 평가하였다. 모바일 장 치용 2뷰 지오메트리를 사용한 전력선과 건물의 3D 재구성 방법을 설계하여 어디에서나 즉시 측정할 수 있도록 하였다. 특징점을 사용하여 전력선과 건물 사이의 거리를 계산하고 건물 정 보를 활용하여 게임 가상 공간에 전력선과 전주를 배치할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 대전시 내 10개의 위치에서 실험을 실시하고, 상업용 시스템과 LiDAR가 있는 경우와 없는 경우를 포함 한 이전 방법과의 성능을 평가하였다. 우리의 방법을 스마트폰에 구현했기 때문에 장점은 휴 대성과 저렴함이다.
This study examined the quality characteristics of 10 different lines of native peppers collected from organic farms in Chungbuk province. The study found a strong correlation between the redness (a*) and ASTA values, which both contribute to the perceived quality of peppers. The highest values were observed in the Iyugsa line. The content of capsaicinoid and beta-carotene also showed a positive correlation, with Chilsungcho having the highest statistically significant value. While the total polyphenol content did not correlate with the other indicators, Chilsungcho again had the highest levels. The Yuwolcho line exhibited the highest ABTS radical scavenging ability, while the Eumseongcho line showed the highest DPPH radical scavenging ability. Taking into account the overall bioactivity quality, Chilsungcho had the highest values in terms of total polyphenol, beta-carotene, capsaicinoid, and redness. It also had the second highest total flavonoid content, ABTS, and DPPH radical scavenging activity, all statistically significant. Therefore, Chilsungcho can be considered an excellent choice when considering physiological activity. Furthermore, this study provides valuable information about the unique characteristics of these 10 native pepper lines, which can assist in selecting the appropriate pepper for food manufacturing and serve as a helpful resource for future research.
Restraints of Branch Lines are used as earthquake-resistant support devices for fire-fighting pipes along with sway brace devices. The central types are aligned and fixed in a straight line with center of the pipe, but the eccentric types are fixed to on side of the pipe, so a bending moment occurs. In this study, three specimens each of central type and eccentric type were installed at an angle of 45° from the vertical and a monotonic compression load of 1340N was applied. All central type samples satisfied 17.8mm of the allowable displacement, but all eccentric type samples failed to meet the target load and buckled. Therefore, when considering the performance of eccentric type restraints, both compressive load and bending moment must be considered. Even through material mechanics calculations, the yield stress of eccentric type - 3/8 inch all threaded steel bolt - exceeds 320Mpa of the allowable stress. A experiment standards need to be established for eccentric type restraints.
Uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) is a unique mitochondrial membranous protein expressed in brown adipose tissue (BAT) in mammals. While its expression in response to cold temperatures and adipogenic inducers is well-characterized in mammals and human infants, the molecular characterization and expression of UCP1 in fish remain unexplored. To address this gap, we analyzed UCP1 expression in response to adipogenic inducers in a fish cell line, rainbow trout gonadal cells (RTG-2), and compared it with UCP1 expression in three mammalian preadipocytes, 3T3-L1, T37i, and WT1 exposed to the Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) agonists, rosiglitazone (Rosi). In mammalian preadipocytes, UCP1 protein was highly expressed by Rosi, with an induction of adipogenesis observed in a time-dependent manner. This suggests that UCP1 plays a significant role in adipogenesis in mammals. However, RTG-2 cells showed no response to adipogenic inducers and exhibited only marginal expressions of UCP1. These results imply that RTG-2 cells may lack crucial responsive mechanisms to adipogenic signals or that the adipogenic response is regulated by other mechanisms. Further studies are needed to confirm these phenomena in fish preadipocytes when an appropriate cell line is established in future research.
Recently, with the increasing global demand for Ganoderma lucidum as a material for functional beverages, varieties with enhanced functionality are needed. As part of this effort, 10 strains were selected from a collection of 160 G. lucidum strains, based on their quantity and fruiting body characteristics. These included four strains collected in Korea, three in Japan, and three of unknown origin. Approximately 44% of the 1,290 hybrid strains were secured. After two rounds of bag cultivation in oak sawdust, three strains (G-20-4, G-20-5, and G-20-7) were ultimately selected for single-timbered cultivation. Among these, G-20-4 demonstrated the earliest harvesting with a large size and a bright cap. Additionally, this strain exhibited the highest levels of total glucan, β-glucan, total triterpenoid, total polyphenol, and total flavonoid content.
Southeast Asia is home to the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, one of the world’s most important sea lines of communication. The closure of the straits to international navigation may adversely affect the well-being of the global economy. On February 11, 2022, the Biden administration announced the new Indo-Pacific strategy, which will continue to deliver on AUKUS. For centuries, the proposed Thai Canal Project has been planned to revolutionize the shipping industry by bypassing the busy waters of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore. If the canal is built under the US Indo-Pacific Strategy, the pre-eminence of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore will not last long. This article analyzes the potential increase of navigation of nuclear-powered submarines through the Straits of Malacca and Singapore and its ensuing environmental implications from a viewpoint of international law. It discusses effects of the proposed canal plan in influencing the shipping industry should this “dream waterway” be constructed.
Protein and peptide candidates are screened to apply therapeutic application as a drug. Ensuring that these candidates are delivered and maximized effectiveness is still challenging and a variety of studies are ongoing. As drug delivery system vehicles, cell-penetrating peptide (CPP) can deliver various kinds of cargo into the cell cytosol. In a previous study, we developed Ara27 CPP, which are a zinc knuckle family protein of Arabidopsis, and confirmed internalization in human dermal fibroblasts and human dental pulp stem cells at low concentration with short time treatment condition without any toxicity. Ara27, an amphipathic CPP, could be modified and utilized in the biomedical field excluding the risk of toxicity. Therefore, we would like to confirm the non-toxic induced penetrating ability of Ara27 in various cell lines. The purpose of this study was to screen the cell internalization ability of Ara27 in various cell lines and to confirm Ara27 as a promising core CPP structure. First, Ara27 was screened to confirm non-toxicity concentration. Then, fluorescence-labeled Ara27 was treated on human normal cell lines, cancer cell lines and animal cell lines to identify the cellular internalization of Ara27. Ara27 was well intracellular localized in all cell lines and the intensity of fluorescence was remarkably increased in time pass manner. These results indicate that Ara27 has the potential as a core structure for applications in various drug delivery systems.
우리는 CFHT에 부착된 OASIS 분광기, MR 1 그리즘으로 관측한 방출선 중, Hβ와 [O III] 5007 방출선을 분 석하여, 제 2형 세이퍼트 은하 Mrk 1의 운동학적 특성을 파악하였다. [O III] 금지선의 가우시안 선 윤곽 분석을 통해 초과하는 청색 이동 성분의 방출 영역이 비대칭적으로 보이는데, (1) 은하 중심부 약 960 pc거리에서 플럭스는 최대를 보이고, (2) 은하 중심부에서 NS 방향으로 ~900 km s−1인 큰 선폭 지역이 있음을 확인하였다. 두 원소의 분광 영상에서 보이는 시선 속도의 특징은 NE 방향에서 접근하는 가스의 흐름이, SW 방향으로 적색 이동, 즉 멀어지는 가스의 흐름 이 나타나 반시계 방향 은하의 회전 경향성을 보여준다. 시선 속도 자료로부터 은하 중심은 우리를 향해 접근하는 먼 지 가스가 가리고 있음을 파악하였다.
Stellar magnetic activity is important for formulating the evolution of the star. To represent the stellar magnetic activity, the S index is defined using the Ca II H+K flux measure from the Mount Wilson Observatory. MgII lines are generated in a manner similar to the formation of Ca II lines, which are more sensitive to weak chromospheric activity. MgII flux data are available from the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE). Thus, the main purpose of this study was to analyze the magnetic activity of stars. We used 343 high-resolution IUE spectra of 14 main-sequence G stars to obtain the MgII continuum surface flux and MgII line-core flux around 2,800 ˚A. We calculated S index using the IUE spectra and compared it with the conventional Mount Wilson S index. We found a color (B − V ) dependent association between the S index and the MgII emission line-core flux. Furthermore, we attempted to obtain the magnetic activity cycles of these stars based on the new S index. Unfortunately, this was not successful because the IUE observation interval of approximately 17 years is too short to estimate the magnetic activity cycles of G-type stars, whose cycles may be longer than the 11 year mean activity cycle of the sun.
To meet rapidly changing market demands, manufacturers strive to increase both of productivity and diversity at the same time. As a part of those effort, they are applying flexible manufacturing systems that produce multiple types and/or options of products at a single production line. This paper studies such flexible manufacturing system with multiple types of products, multiple Bernoulli reliability machines and dedicated buffers between them for each of product types. As one of the prevalent control policies, priority based policy is applied at each machines to select the product to be processed. To analyze such system and its performance measures exactly, Markov chain models are applied. Because it is too complex to define all relative transient and its probabilities for each state, an algorithm to update transient state probability are introduced. Based on the steady state probability, some performance measures such as production rate, WIP-based measures, blocking probability and starvation probability are derived. Some system properties are also addressed. There is a property of non-conservation of flow, which means the product ratio at the input flow is not conserved at the succeeding flows. In addition, it is also found that increased buffer capacity does not guarantee improved production rate in this system.
화분매개곤충으로 중요한 산업적 가치를 지닌 꿀벌은 전 세계적으로 병해충에 의한 개체수 감소 현상이 심각한 문제로 제기 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 타개하기 위하여 질병저항성 꿀벌 계통을 선발하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 꿀벌 육성 계통별 청소력(hygienic behavior) 평가를 수행하였다. 이는 질병 저항성 계통 선발에 관한 연구로 본 연구에서는 5종의 꿀벌 계통과 2종의 교배종 계통에 대한 청소력 평가를 Pin killed brood assay 법에 의해 수행하였다. 그 결과 처리 24 시간 후 죽은 번데기를 제거하거나 개봉하는 능력이 60% 이상으로 청 소능력이 낮은 계통(non-hygienic)은 확인되지 않았으며, 반대로 죽은 번데기를 제거하거나 개봉하는 능력이 90%이상인 hygienic 계통은 C, D, E, F, ♀CX♂D 그리고 ♀FX♂D 계통인 것으로 드러났으며, 그 외 A 계통은 보통(intermediate)의 청소능력을 가진 것으로 확인 되었다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서는 육성 계통 대부분이 높은 질병저항성 특성을 지니는 것으로 평가되고 있으며, 이러한 결과는 지속적인 질병저항성 꿀벌 계통 선발에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대되고 있다.
본 연구는 세계채소센터의 고추 유전자원들에 대한 침수조건에서 생육특성을 조사해 침수 저항성 자원을 선발하기 위해 수행하였다. 세계채소센터 유전자원센터에서 보유중인 4종의 고추 8자원을 선발하여 유리온실에서 종자를 파종하여 2개월 간 육묘한 후 본 실험을 위해 비닐하우스로 이동 후 침수시험을 수행하였다. 시험에 이용된 고추는 고온인 여름철에 시험이 수행되어 침수에 대한 반응이 매우 빠르게 나타났다. 1. 침수 처리구에서 생육이 전체적으로 감소 되었으나 저항성 자원들은 대조구와 비교하여 초장에 있어 유의성 있는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 2. 침수 처리 후 고추자원의 엽온 조사에서는 No. 29 (9656-13) 자원을 제외한 모든 침수구에서 엽온이 대조구에 비해 높게 유지되었다. 3. 감수성 자원들은 위조지수가 1.5 이상을 나타냈으나 내침 수성 자원들은 0.5로 낮게 유지되었다. 4. SPAD 값을 조사한 결과에 있어서는 침수로 인해 전체적으로 대조구에 비해 10% 낮은 수치를 나타냈다. 5. Proline 함량에 있어서는 침수구에서 전체적으로 Proline 함량이 높게 나타났으나 내침수성이 강했던 No. 8과 22는 대조구와 유의차가 없이 낮았다. 6. 침수자원들에 대한 침수와 고온에 따른 화분활력 조사에서는 침수에서 일부 자원의 화분활력 감소를 확인하였으며, 고온처리에서 처리구 대부분의 화분 활력이 유의하게 감소하는 결과를 나타냈다. 7. 본 시험을 통해 이번 시험의 고추자원 중 Capsicum bacatum 종인 No. 8 (VI028788), No. 12 (VI044312) 자원 이 침수저항성이 강한 자원으로 판단되어 1차 선발하였다.
