        Purpose of the study is to explore the effect of the types of mobile coupons(textvs. image-focused coupons; free-gift vs. discount coupons) on characteristic perception of mobile coupons, and the causal relationships among characteristic perception, attitude, and use intention of mobile coupons. A total of 140 university students participated in experiments with questionnaires including one of the four stimuli. Important findings are as follows. First, image-focused mobile coupons generated more enjoyment than did text-focused coupons. However, the text/image-focused coupons were not different in perception of informativeness and credibility of mobile coupons. Second, enjoyment perception was significantly increased when image-focused contents were combined with discount coupons whereas enjoyment perception was decreased when text-focused contents were combined with free-gift coupons. This interaction effect reflects that the level of enjoyment of consumers can be changed in terms of the combination of the value-provision types of coupons and the text-image focused contents. Third, it was found that consumer perception of coupon characteristics formed attitudes toward mobile coupons, and use intention of mobile coupons was determined by attitudes toward mobile coupons. Study findings may fill the void of research investigating the effect of text-image contents and the types of coupons on consumer reponses toward mobile coupons. Mobile coupons have limited quantity of information within a small size of mobile phone screen, therefore, the results were not consistent with prior research tested with mobile advertisements indicating the effect of text-image contents on perception of informativeness and credibility.

        Fast service access involves keeping track of the location of mobile users, while they are moving around the mobile network for a satisfactory level of QoS (Quality of Service) in a cost-effective manner. The location databases are used to keep track of Mobile Terminals (MT) so that incoming calls can be directed to requested mobile terminals at all times. MT reporting cell system used in location management is to designate each cell in the network as a reporting cell or a non-reporting cell. Determination of an optimal number of reporting cells (or reporting cell configuration) for a given network is reporting cell planning (RCP) problem. This is a difficult combinatorial optimization problem which has an exponential complexity. We can see that a cell in a network is either a reporting cell or a non-reporting cell. Hence, for a given network with N cells, the number of possible solutions is  . We propose a biogeography based optimization (BBO) for design of mobile station location management system in wireless communication network. The number and locations of reporting cells should be determined to balance the registration for location update and paging operations for search the mobile stations to minimize the cost of system. Experimental results show that our proposed BBO is a fairly effective and competitive approach with respect to solution quality for optimally designing location management system because BBO is suitable for combinatorial optimization and multi-functional problems.

        Prevalent usage of mobile devices among consumers has been well recognized and this is especially imperative among young adult consumers. The mobile phone became the gateway of their communication, media consumption, retail transaction, education, and (virtual) social life. However, there is little empirical research explaining the dynamics behind the psychological underpinning of young adult consumers, specifically Generation Y, to understand their usages and dependency on mobile phones. This study, therefore, aims to unveil antecedents and consequences of Gen Y consumers’ mobile phone dependency from a media psychological perspective. We developed a conceptual model based on theory of self-monitoring (Snyder 1974, 1987), extended self-concept (Belk, 1988), and media dependency theory (Ball-Rokeach & Defluer, 1976). Four hundred ninety-eight students in the U.S. provided usable responses to our pencil-and-paper survey. Causal modeling analysis results demonstrated that both ability to modify one’s behavior and sensitivity to cues for social appropriate behavior dimensions of the self-monitoring tendency positively predicted one’s level of fashion involvement, which in turn positively predicted his/her mobile phone dependency. Individual’s mobile phone dependency, fashion involvement and self-monitoring’s ability dimension exhibited positive and direct impact on one’s perception of the salience of mobile phone case product attributes. Based on the findings, we provided pragmatic and theoretical implications for the industry and academia.

        모바일 MMORPG는 게임 시장을 주도하고 있고 더욱 발전할 것이다. 많은 게임의 출시에도 불구하고 UI등 디자인설계 요인에서부터 소프트웨어 품질요인까지의 종합적인 MMORPG 설계연구가 부족한 상황에서 사용자들이 원하고 선호하는 세부 설계요인을 찾는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 모바일 MMORPG의 사용자와 개발자가 객관적인 시각에서 양자가 만족하는 핵심적이고 중요한 게임 설계 요인을 찾고자 시도되었다. 실증분석은 이론적인 연구들을 기반으로 모바일 MMORPG 설계 요인들 3단계로 계층화하여 그 중요도는 계층분석과정(AHP)을 통해 검증하였다. 설계 요인의 중요도는 재미 요인, 구성 요인, UI 요인, 시스템 요인, 환경 요인 순이고 재미의 중요성에서는 도전 재미가 가장 중요하며 도전 재미에서는 보상이 중요하다는 결과를 얻었다. 재미 요인 중에서 새롭게 추가한 우월성이나 대결성을 포함하는 경쟁 재미가 다양성, 탐험성을 포함한 상상 재미보다 높게 나온 다. 이는 수많은 사용자가 길드, 혈맹, 진영 종족단위로 경쟁하고 협동하며 즐기는 모바일 MMORPG의 특성을 반영한 것으로 생각된다. 본 연구는 MMORPG 설계 요인들을 분석 추출 하였으며 중요도를 파악하여 모바일 MMORPG 설계 능력 향상에 기여할 것으로 생각한다.

        This paper proposes a method to reduce the pose error and to solve the dead reckoning issue which occurs when the mobile robot with continuous-tracks travels in the unstructured environments. When the continuous-track type mobile platform travels on terrain such as sand, gravel, stairs and etc., slippage occurs and thus the driving state of the mobile robot cannot be recognized normally. To compensate for this pose error, the proposed method utilizes optical flow estimation detected by camera. This method is tested through experiment. Finally, This method reduces the pose error detected on inertia measurement unit within some limit, while the pose error of without compensation increases without limit during robot move.

        In this study, real-time monitoring of air quality using a real-time mobile monitoring system was conducted to identify the emission characteristics and current status of air pollutants and odorous substances that are mainly generated in domestic dyeing industrial areas and to trace the pollutant sources. The concentration of toluene in the industrial area was detected up to 926.4 ppb, which was 3 to 4 times higher than that of other industrial areas. The concentration of methylethylketone was 124.7 ppb and the concentration of dichloromethane was 129.5 ppb. Acrolein concentration was highest at E point at 521.6 ppb, methanol concentration was highest at D point at 208.8 ppb, and acetone concentration was highest at M and N points at 549.3 ppb. The most frequently detected concentration of pollutants in the air quality monitoring results in the industrial area was, in descending order, toluene > methanol > acrolein > dichloromethane > acetone, which was similar to the chemical emissions used in the industrial area by the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register data. The concentration of odorous substances measured in real time was compared with the concentration of minimum detection, and the concentration of hydrogen sulfide was about 10 times higher than the concentration of minimum detection at A point, which was judged to be the main odorous cause of A point. In the future, if the real-time mobile measurement system is constructed to automatically connect wind direction/wind speed, PRTR (Pollutant Release and Transfer Register) data and SEMS (Stack Emission Management System) data, etc., it was judged that more accurate monitoring could be performed.

        Purpose: This study, as presented by Kern, Thomas, and Hughes , aims to verify the effectiveness of clinical inference education through digital storytelling programs based on Smith and Mann’s (2002) mobile education model in accordance with the six stages of the medical course development model. Based on the mobile education model of Smith and Mann (2002), the effectiveness of clinical reasoning education is verified through the mobile education program. Method: A single group pre-post test design that evaluates the clinical reasoning education effects of the mobile education program was used. Results: A statistically significant improvement was observed in clinical inference capacity from before intervention (t=-9.81, p<0.001); there was also a greater difference in the average value after intervention than before intervention in all of the results. Conclusion: This study suggests that while scenarios were constructed around five cases of high-risk Infant with respiratory and mechanical problems, in the future, additional scenarios should be developed to include different body systems.

        This study is carried out on the structural improvement of military mobile kitchen trailer for the betterment of fighting power by serving meals to solider in right time. To recognize the real problems of field kitchen trailer, the heat transfers from burner for soup cooker were compared with each other. By the test, the necessity of improvement was deduced. To examine the cause of cooking time, it was determined by the characteristic diagram. Based on the cause, there are two types of kitchen trailer's burner structures. To verify the improved structures, it was carried out for the performance test. As the results, the time did not become longer and the temperature rising rate per minute increased. This study is expected to be devoted to the future improvement of military mobile kitchen trailer.

        This research examines how inter-price relationships among base and add-on products affect the sales of a new add-on product in the mobile gaming context. Based on theories of price fairness, product familiarity and price-quality relationship, a research model was drawn and tested on a sample of 6,766 weekly observations derived from 74 base games and 514 add-on virtual goods. Our empirical results show that the relative price of a new add-on product, when compared to the base game price, is negatively related to the add-on product sales, but positively related to its sales, when compared to prices of existing add-on products. Furthermore, the inter-price relationships among base and add-on gaming products are moderated by visual richness and game genre. This study provides the implications for IS research and practice.

        최근 많은 연구들이 모바일 환경에서 수행된 행동측정의 타당성을 검증하려는 시도가 있다. 이에 발맞추어 본 연구의 목적은 모바일 환경에서 수집된 행동 데이터(예, 반응시간과 오류율)가 행동 연구 영역에 적용가능한지 아닌지를 조사하는 것이다. 이 목적을 위해 본 연구는 2-4음절 단어 및 비단어들로 구성된 자극목록을 만들고, 71명의 실험 참가자들에게 어휘판단 과제을 수행하도록 요구하였다. 이 과제는 스크린에 제시된 낱자열이 단어에 속한다면 ‘단어’ 버튼을 또는 제시된 낱자 열이 의미 없는 낱자 열에 속한다면 ‘비단어’ 버튼을 가급적이면 빠르고 정확하게 판단하여 버튼을 누르는 과제이다. 스마트폰과 타블렛 PC에서 실행된 이 과제를 통해 얻어진 반응시간과 오류율이 PC 환경에서 수집된 메가스터디 결과와 비교되었다. 그 결과 평균 반응시간은 두 환경 간에 비슷하였다. 그러나 모바일 환경에서 반응시간과 오류율의 분포는 메가스터디에서의 반응시간과 오류율의 분포와는 달랐다. 본 연구는 이 분포의 차이가 두 환경의 다른 반응 민감도에서 유발된 것으로 해석 하였다. 이 해석을 기반으로 본 연구는 두 환경간의 차이를 좁힐 수 있는 방법을 논의에서 제안하였다.

        본 논문은 모바일 게임과 게임하기의 변화를 통합적으로 살피기 위해 모바일 게임의 시공간적 특성을 미하일 바흐친(Mikhail Bakhtin)의 크로노토프(chronotope) 개념을 통해 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 소설에서 재현되는 시간과 공간 사이의 내적 연관을 지칭하는 개념인 크로노토프를 바탕으로 모바일 게임 플랫폼에서의 시공간 경험과 모바일 게임 텍스트의 재구성간의 내적 연관을 살펴보았 다. 모바일 게임은 플레이어라는 존재 기반의 혼종적 플랫폼을 통해 게임하기의 행위를 일상의 시 공간과 중첩시키면서 플레이어의 의지를 바탕으로 지금-여기의 세계를 구축한다. 플레이어를 플랫폼으로 하는 모바일 게임의 크로노토프는 가상세계에 접속하는 것이 아닌, 지금-여기라는 현재의 공 간에서 생성되는 것이다. 본고에서는 이와 같은 모바일 게임의 크로노토프 재현 양상을 역할수행 게임과 위치기반 게임을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 모바일 역할수행 게임에서는 자동 전투 시스템을 중심으로 플레이어가 느슨한 거리감을 유지면서 서사적이고 관계적인 경험이 약화된 탈역사적 크로노 토프가 나타난다. 위치기반 게임에서는 가상세계와 실제세계의 중첩을 통해 유희적 의미를 발생시키는 플레이어가 주도하는 생성의 크로노토프가 나타난다.

        PURPOSES : Transportation researchers have contributed to try to both understand and accumulate scientifically how individuals move across time and space. Currently, data generated from household travel diary surveys have been used as the basis of travel behavior (or human mobility patterns) analysis in transportation planning and have been buoyed in a sustainability for decades. Against this backdrop, this study introduces mobile phone signaling big data that can convey more detailed human mobility information across time and space and supplement travel behavior analysis. METHODS: We propose a usable and useful dataset driven from the mobile phone signaling data for better travel behavior analysis. Several data-driven approaches have been tried to estimated and calculate variables inserted into the dataset. RESULTS: In the result, this paper discussed the promise of mobile phone based dataset to applications for inferring human mobility patterns applied to directly transport policy. CONCLUSIONS: It is our hope that this study will stimulate future studies on transportation planning and mobility analysis using mobile phone signaling data in Korea.
