        The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is one of the bridges to the globalization of trade. The BRI will achieve all its goals and help each participant nation's economy flourish. Expanding international commerce and reducing inequality among participating nations are indicators of stronger economic growth. This study intends to investigate how the Belt and Road Initiative affects global trade and equality among its participants and elaborate the people perception on BRI in Indonesia and Malaysia. This study uses secondary data to compare the BRI members, while the original data was collected using a survey approach. The four factors evaluated in secondary data are globalization, international trade, equality, and business environment. K-mean cluster, One-way ANOVA, and Partial Least Squares were used for data analysis. The survey is conducted in English on two platforms (online and offline), they are analyzed by Homogeneity of Variances test. The findings indicated foreign debt, political stability, level of corruption, education index, and life expectancy are the differences in the business environments that account for this. If the member nations in the Belt and Road Initiative have favorable conditions in terms of political stability, education, and life expectancy, they will succeed in terms of globalization, international trade, and equality. In addition, the nation should have little foreign debt and less corruption. The last, both Malaysia and Indonesia have positive perception on the BRI and support the country to participate on it.

        PURPOSES : Fine dust significantly affects the atmospheric environment, and various measures have been implement to reduce it. The aim of this study is to reduce fine dust on roads by implementing porous pavements and a clean road system using the low-impact development technique. METHODS : We conducted quality tests (draindown, cantabro loss rate, tensile strength ratio, dynamic stability, and indoor permeability coefficient tests) and performance evaluation (dynamic modulus and Hamburg wheel-tracking tests) on the porous asphalt mixture. Subsequently, we constructed a porous pavement road in a test bed and conducted a permeability test. In the test bed, we installed a nozzle, a water tank, and a fluid pump to water the roadside. After the clean road system was completely installed, we measured the concentration of fine dust before and after water was sprayed. Additionally, we conducted a total suspended solids (TSS) test to confirm the reduction in re-suspended dust. RESULTS : All results from the quality test of the porous asphalt mixture satisfy the standards stipulated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Results from the dynamic modulus test show a low plastic deformation resistance but a high fatigue crack resistance. The results from the Hamburg wheel-tracking test satisfy the U.S. Department of Transportation standards. After the porous pavement was constructed, a permeability test was conducted, and the result satisfies the standard value. Using a particle counter, we measured the concentration of fine dust before and after water spraying, and results show 12.08% and 10.23% for PM10 and PM2.5 particles, respectively. The results from the TSS test show that after the initial water spray, almost all re-suspended dust are removed from a road. In unfavorable road conditions, almost all re-suspended dust are removed after a second water spray. CONCLUSIONS : The results of all of quality tests performed on a porous asphalt mixture satisfy the standards. By applying the results to a test bed, the problem of securing water is solved. Using the clean road system, 12.08% and 10.23% of PM10 and PM2.5 particles are removed, respectively. The system removes PM10 particles (larger particles) more effectively compared with PM2.5 particles. IN the future, we plan to revise the maintenance plan such that the porous pavement can exhibit long-term performance. Because pipe freezing may occur in the winter, we plan to analyze the periodic maintenance plan of the porous pavement and develop a solution to mitigate the issue of freezing pipes in the winter.

        Assessment of noise exposed population is to check the environment noise level and social influence in order to reduce the risks such as annoyance and disturbance that are generated by environmental noise. Also, this method suggests the preferential noise abatement policy and action plan by accurately finding the area that the noise causes harmful effect to human health. Recently, a noise map, which can predict noise in comprehensive area, is used for the assessment of noise exposed population, breaking from the methods using existing measures. In particular, countermeasure for noise can be considered more effectively by using assessment methods of noise exposed population for specific noise level, area and building types which are the main input factors in noise maps. In this study, we propose noise prediction at traffic noise due to noise map.

        The object of this paper is to estimation of noise reduction effect of road noise by operating condition due to tire noise regulation. A prepare the countermeasure of the noise reduction according to collect tire/road noise data under various influencing factors by using the tire test method. To accomplish the object : A automotive is used as a test platform to test tire/road noise by changing different types of tires and using the On-Board Sound Intensity test system. The influence of inflation pressure, road, load, speed and pattern type on tire/road noise is compared and analyzed. At the same time, the mechanism of tire/road noise is analyzed, which provides an experimental basis for tire noise reduction.

        Since the road management paradigm has changed into the user-oriented circumstance, the functionality of the crucial road maintenance factors became important than before. Among these factors, the roughness directly related to the ride quality for driver became to get more attention. IRI(International Roughness Index) is recently the most widely used roughness indices in the world. IRI is a reasonable index that reflects the vertical displacement(bounce) of vehicle as the road profile changes. Since IRI reflects the vertical behavior of vehicle, it reflects ride quality indirectly. However, there are various rotational behaviors such as roll, yaw, and pitch in addition to the vertical displacement. Profiles, which MRI range was 1.13-4.12m/km, were measured in five sections and the profiles were entered into CarSIM to simulate vehicle behavior. As a result, the pitch was the largest in all sections, followed by roll and yaw, relatively. Especially, the amount of yaw is about 5% of the pitch or about 7% of the roll. The behavior of moving vehicle was measured using INS(inertial navigation system) and accelerometer in the section where the road surface profile was measured. As a result, as in the simulation, the pitch was the largest in all the sections and the amount of yaw is only about 7% of the pitch or about 18% of the roll. Field experiments were conducted to analyze the effect of the rotational behavior of the actual driving vehicle on the ride quality. 33 panels evaluated the ride quality on a ten-point scale while driving on 35 sections with various roughnesses. 35 test sections were selected considering the roughness distribution of actual expressway. The panel was selected considering age, driving experience, gender, and expertise. Of the total 1,155 responses, 964 responses were used for the analysis, except 191 responses measured at low driving speeds. In addition, the amount of vehicle behavior and road surface profile were measured using INS and laser. As a result of correlation analysis between MPR(mean panel rating) and vehicle behavior, correlation coefficient of bounce was the highest with 0.814, and the order of pitch was 0.798, and roll was 0.734, relatively. As a result of regression analysis for predicting ride quality, regression model combining bounce and roll was statistically the most suitable. This model is expected to reflect the ride quality more effectively because it can consider the vehicle behavior due to the longitudinal profile change of the road surface as well as the vehicle behavior due to the difference between the left and right wheel path road profile.

        In recent years, there have been applied methods for minimizing noise by adjusting the method of installing soundproof walls, soundproof tunnels, soundproofing rims, environmental facilities, etc., and the shape of the surface texture of tire treads and packaging materials for the purpose of reducing road noise. Low noise pavement methods such as rubber asphalt (CRM), open graded asphalt concrete (OGAC), permeable Friction Courses (PFC), open graded friction courses (OGFC) and porous asphalt have been applied to reduce road noise. Especially, porous pavement is the most widely used low noise pavement with porous structure, which can reduce noise and drain water through continuous void of pavement. On the other hand, porous asphalt pavement has problems such as reduction of noise reduction effect and difficulty of road surface management due to void closing and increase of construction cost. The purpose of this study is to develop ultra-thin layer hot mix asphalt pavement method which maximizes road noise reduction effect by surface micro voids (Recover asphalt pavement) to improve void clogging of present porous pavement method. For this study, maximum size 5mm aggregate and cationic-treated fiber reinforced asphalt modifier (CSM) were used. The Marshall design method was applied grain-size distribution curve was based on SMA mix design. Marshall test, TSR, MMLS3 test and Hamburg test were carried out to evaluate the mechanical properties of ultra -thin layered asphalt pavement method with surface micro voids. Also, the effect of road noise reduction was evaluated through field application in urban area.

        본 연구는 야간 가로공간의 보행자 만족도에 미치는 물리적, 심리적 요인을 파악하여 야간 보행환경 개선을 위한 방안을 제시하고 있다. 이를 위해 강원도 원주시 소재 가로수가 잘 조성된 주거지 주변의 대로를 중심으로 야간 보행 만족도에 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 설문을 실시하였다. 설문분석을 통하여 야간 보행만족도에 미치는 물리적 요인으로 도로정비 요인과 조명환경 요인이 추출되었으며 심리적 요인으로 범죄위협 요인과 야간 보행안전성 요인이 추출되었다. 회귀분석을 통하여 추출된 요인이 야간 보행만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 물리적 도로정비 요인은 야간 보행만족도에 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났으며 심리적 요인인 범죄위협 요인과 물리적 요인인 조명환경 요인의 영향이 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 최근 대두되고 있는 범죄예방환경설계의 방향과 일치하며 조명환경 요인을 개선함에 따라 범죄위협 요인도 개선하여 궁극적으로 야간 보행만족도를 향상시킬 수 있음을 의미한다. 결과를 바탕으로 가로 공간의 설계 시 조명환경 개선의 필요성에 대한 배경으로 활용할 수 있으며 경관시뮬레이션을 활용하여 다양한 설계 대안 제시에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        PURPOSES: The purpose of study is to understand the characteristic of driving noise from the front and rear tire for effective active noise cancellation application. METHODS : As literature review, noise measurement methods were reviewed. Noise measurement conducted at three kind of section by road slope using CPX(Close Proximity Method). Noise data was compared by total sound pressure level and 1/3 octave band frequency sound pressure level. Also, each section was compared by T-test using SPSS. RESULTS : In the case of the uphill section, it was shown that the sound pressure level of the front tire at Sugwang-Ri and Sinchon-RI sections was higher than that of the rear tire in low and high frequency band. In the case of high slope section of Sangsaek-Ri, the sound pressure level of the front tire was higher than that of the rear tire in high frequency. Also, in the case of the downhill section, it was shown that the sound pressure level of the front tire at Sugwang-Ri and Sinchon-RI sections was higher than that of the rear tire in low frequency band. However, the sound pressure levels of both the front and rear tires were approximately the same in the high slope section of Sangsaek-Ri. The result of T-test showed that total sound pressures of the front and rear tires were not different from each other in the case of high slope and high speed. CONCLUSIONS: Road slope was not an important variable for effective active noise cancellation.

        PURPOSES: This study is to evaluate a ground water level effect on frost heaving in road pavements. METHODS: The effects of water table on frost heaving in pavement systems were evaluated from the mechanical analysis using FROST program. The input parameters and boundary conditions were determined by considering climates, pavement sections, and material properties specially subgrade soil types in Korea. RESULTS: When the water table located above the freezing depth, amount of frost heaving caused by freezing the water in pavement itself was big enough to damage in pavement system, although pavement system consists of fully non-frost-susceptible materials with sufficient thickness of anti-freezing layer. The amount of frost heaving was decreased rapidly with increasing the distance between the water table and freezing depth. CONCLUSIONS: It was concluded that there is no engineering problems related with frost heaving in practical sense when the distance between freezing depth and water table is over 1.5m for having subgrade soils less than 50% of #200 sieve passing to meet specification on quality control in Korea.

        두루미류의 취식무리 크기 및 구성과 도로 유형별, 취식무리 규모에 따른 분포거리 연구를 월동기인 2005년 12월에서 2006년 2월까지 총 8회 실시하였다. 두루미와 재두루미의 취식무리는 주로 2~4개체로 구성된 무리였다. 두루미와 재두루미 모두 혼종무리 보다는 단일종의 취식무리가 많았다. 두루미와 재두루미간 취식무리 크기별 비율은 유의한 차이가 있었다. 두루미의 포장도로(PR)와의 평균거 리는 비포장농로(UPR), 포장농로(PFR), 비포장농로(UPFR) 도로와의 거리에 비하여 멀었다. 재두루미의 경우 도로로부터의 이격거리는 농로로부터의 거리와 차이가 있었다. 두루미와 재두루미 종간 도로유형별 이격거리는 포장도로에서만 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이 결과는, 두루미류가 차량 출입이 잦은 도로를 차량 출입이 낮은 농로에 비하여 선호하지 않는 것을 보여준다. 포장도로에서 5개체 이상의 두루미 취식무리는 전체 취식무리와 5개체 미만의 취식무리에 비하여 도로로부터 이격거리가 멀었다. 재두루미는 5개체 이상의 취식무리가 5개체 미만의 취식무리에 비하여 포장도로 및 포장농로와 비포장농로에서 이격거리가 멀었으며, 비포장도로에서는 무리크기에 따른 이격거리의 차이가 없었다. 결과적으로, 무리의 크기가 큰 경우 방해요인에 대한 영향이 일부 더 크게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 두루미류의 큰 취식무리가 주변을 감시하는 효율이 무리크기가 작은 경우보다 높은 것과 관련이 있을 것으로 보인다.

        To investigate thermal environment and effect of clean-road system over a broad way, we conducted the filed meteorological observation during 12~13 August 2014. The clean-road system was employed over a part of the broad way of Dalgubul(Dalgubul-Daero) by Daegu Metropolitan city in 2011. The clean–road system in general is operated two times(4 am, 2 pm) during summertime. In case of scorching alert, the system is operated 3 times a day(4 am, 2 pm and 4 pm). To evaluate the present thermal condition and the improvement effects due to the system, we analyzed the time variation of discomfort index and WBGT(wet-bulb and globe temperature). WBGT was more than 25 during 8 a.m. ~ 9 p.m. And discomfort index was more than 75 during 8 a.m. ~ 11 p.m. The thermal improvement effect of the clean-road system was restrictive during daytime.

        To improve air quality around a broad way, Daegu Metropolitan city employed the clean-road system at a part of the broad way of Dalgubul (Daigubul-daero) in 2011. The clean–road system in general is operated two times (4 am, 2 pm) during summertime. In case of scorching alert, the system is operated 3 times a day (4 am, 2 pm and 4 pm). To evaluate the effect of air quality improvement due to the system, we analyzed the time variation of monthly mean particulate matter (PM10) concentration in recent 3 years (2011-2013). The improvement of air quality was estimated at about 5~15 % under the system.

        최근 이상기후로 인한 돌풍과 태풍에 의해 도로표지 구조물은 지속적인 풍해를 입고 있다. 풍하중에 지배적인 영향을 받는 도로표지 구조물의 구조 안전성 확보를 위하여 내풍성 향상 도로표지 구조물에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 내풍성 향상 도로표지 구조물로 통풍형 도로표지 구조물을 제안하였다. 통풍형 도로표지 구조물은 기존 표지판에 일정한 간격과 직경의 천공을 갖는 도로표지 구조물이다. 천공의 직경과 간격에 대한 최적의 제원을 도출하기 위하여 통풍형 도로표지판의 항력계수 감소 효과 분석과 반사율 실험을 진행하였다. 통풍형 도로표지판을 적용한 표준 도로표지 구조물의 풍하중 저감 효과와 지주 단면 감소 효과를 분석하였다.

        Forest management starts from forest road facility, which is designated as generation source of muddy water in mountain stream during initial stage of establishment. Therefore, this study reviewed the effect of suspended sediment generated in forest road surface on the muddy water in mountain stream with respect to marsh area of forest. As a result, characteristics of outflow of suspended sediment was understood, and it was judged that generation of suspended sediment due to establishment of forest road is diluted by mountain stream this charged from drainage area so as to have small effect on muddy water in total mountain stream.
