This research developed eco-friendly UHPC using industrial by-products (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag, Bottom Ash) by replacing cement and silica powder. The Chloride Penetration Resistances of the developed eco-friendly UHPC were evaluated. It is found that the developed eco-friendly UHPC shows adequate compressive strength and enhanced chloride durability.
Various non-destructive test have been developed to predict the setting time of concrete. Through the electrical resistivity method(Wenner’s four electrode method), the effect of chemical admixture(AE admixture and superplasticizer) added for setting time of concrete mixtures is confirmed. As a result, it is observed that AE admixture dose not affect to change of concrete microstructure but delaying on setting time, and superplasticizer is affected not delaying on setting time, but changing in concrete’s microstructure
This research developed the fiber pullout impact test machine to investigate interfacial bond strength between fiber and cement based matrix under high velocity. To achieve the goal, firstly the existing pullout test machines were investigated. And then, these drawback were comprehended. Finally, Fiber pullout impact test machine base on strain energy frame impact machine was proposed.
To monitor structural responses and detect serious events, an image-based health monitoring technology for existing bridges has been developed. The image-based system allows users to connect and remotely control cameras in real-time. The developed system was successfully tested and verified in the test bed bridges. This paper presents the application examples of it.
The internal displacement of the corrugated steel plate structure reduces structural stability. In this study, we developed a smart checking system to evaluate the stability of the corrugated steel plate culvert structure by laser scanning and image mapping. It is expected that output data can be used in inspecting deformation rates between designs and measured 3D shapes. Also, it can solve the problems in current visual inspection and systemize the inspection tasks scientifically.
We designed and implemented automatic pavement damage detector using an image processing algorithm on driving condition. The experimental results show that the detector is able to successfully monitor and detect pavement damages.
With the introduction of the one-tolling and smart-tolling, Vehicle number recognition technology of ITS imaging equipment that was used to prevent the escape and tolling evasion will play an important role in the collection system. Korea Highway Corporation will prepare a ITSK-00088 Performance Assessment to improve the license plate recognition. and there are a number of efforts to improve the accuracy of vehicle number recognition. But even if the ITS equipment had passed the performance assessment, it is in a situation which does not achieve the target value due to physical and environmental factors. we propose a method for acquiring the additional information(color, type, pattern) including plate number of the vehicle in order to improve the recognition rate of the vehicle number. Through that link the vehicle additional information, vehicle specifications DB, image analysis system, the goal is to build a system that can be identified for the misrecognized and unrecognized vehicle.
Recently, there has been frequent shortage of expansion joint in expressway bridges. When that happens, maintenance budgets will be overloaded and not effective, so it is not easy to come up with a solution. In this study, we introduce a bridge inspection system that combines laser image sensing technology and automatic control technology, which have been recently applied in various fields. And this system was developed to measure bridge extension joints while traveling more than 80km/h.
After operating Early detection of slope movement and alarm system, it is found that several improvements are necessary. Especially, alarm criteria for slope movement is critical in reliable operation of the system.
Due to limited human resources, budget and difficulties in accessibility, inspections are not available at proper time. Advanced Technology such as ICT, Sensing, and AI can innovate the management of structure. So, we introduce our developed equipment and future management plan.
In this study, the integrated management code of damage information in bridges using the data from unmanned inspection equipment (i.e., drone with hybrid imaging equipment) was proposed. It was found that the integrated management code could be used in developing bridge management system based on 3-dimensional information model of bridge.
In the case of a railway bridge where the ratio of live load to fixed load is relatively large, one of the main factors that dominate the bridge life is the fatigue phenomenon that occurs due to long-term accumulation by live load. Therefore, evaluating and constantly maintaining the fatigue life of cables in cable-supported bridges is an important item in ensuring the safety of bridges over their lifetime.
The safety issue of PSC box Girder Bridge is being brought up to the surface. For countermeasures, we developed an extensive material testing procedures and applied it into our existing bridges. We believe that these set of newly constructed procedures are well within the reasonable mark. With that, we now foresee the necessity in systematic improvement and ample supply of its technology in order to secure the future safety of PSC box girder bridges.
Domestic social infrastructures have been rapidly growing based on economic growth in the 1970s. Recently, the construction of various methods has been continuously being carried out in accordance with the development of construction technology. Due to these influences, Maintenance work is becoming as important as construction.
In the Gangwon province, severe freezing damage to road tunnels are occurred due to freezing condition such as snowfall, cold waves and icing. As a result, serious damage occurs on the lining and road surface of the tunnel entrance and exit. Therefore, it is necessary to develop appropriate mitigation methods to protect damage to people and property by freezing. In this paper, we introduce that the trend of research for reducing the freezing damage and the required performance to be secured for the maintenance of road tunnels in cold region and the future research plans.
The purpose of measuring a dam operated after design & construction is to properly operate reservoir and maintain dam structural safety by comparing the really measured data for the behavior of dam with the data for design & construction, the past mesured data and analyzing them. In this paper, the really measured data is analized for a dam facilitiy located near a seismic epicenter of earthquake that occurred on 12th, Nov. 2016 in Gyeong-ju and the results of safety inspection for a dam is shown by comparing the behavior of dam before and after occuring earthquake.
Recently, there are few cases of the Precise Inspection for Safety and Diagnosis for transverse crack of CFRD. The presumable causes and characteristics of transverse cracks have suggested in this paper based on field survey and related NDT. Also, the maintenance of transverse crack of CFRD are proposed
Recently, serious construction site accidents are increasing. At present, the accident rate of the whole industry is 0.5 ('15), while the accident rate of the construction industry is 0.75 ('15), which is 50% higher than the accident rate of the whole industry. In order to reduce the accident rate of the construction industry to the level of the accident rate of the whole industry, there are various methods such as compliance with specifications, drawing and specification, thorough supervision of management, most importantly, it is necessary to recognize that the safety management of construction work is not the work of the builder only, and that it is the task of all participants of the construction work (contractor, designer, builder, construction management). In addition, it should be based on the institutional part to support that. As a part of this, design for safety was introduced to prevent disasters occurrence in construction work. Design for safety was introduced to prevent disasters occurrence in construction work. In this study, we intend to elaborate domestic and overseas institutions and revitalization plans.
