Shear panel steel damper has been widely used as seismic energy absorption device because it is economical and effective. It dissipates seismic energy by plastic deformation and fatigue resistant around welded part. However, due to early deformation of the panel under cyclic loading, the resisting strength decreases, so that the resisting capacity of the panel needs to be increased. In this paper, to investigate the improved damper called advanced shear panel damper (ASPD), both plastic deformation and resisting capacity was carried out non-linear FEA. In addition, the analysis result was compared with static loading test for verification.

This program has been developed for the efficient maintenance of gas supply facilities, consists of inspection and diagnosis program and DB management program. Especially by taking advantage of the Tablet PC maximize the efficiency of the work. also, relevant technician has been developed to be easy to use. Using the data obtained was the development of automatic computation module enables the rapid and reliable assessment of gas supply facilities.

To evaluate the traffic safety of PSC box bridge for increasing speed 450km/h of KTX, a dynamic analysis of KTX wheel force spectrum is needed concurrently with existing design requirements. The wheel force spectrum are considered the dynamic PSC box bridge behaviors as well as KTX running movements with advanced numerical model. KTX power train is modeled one body, two bogies and four wheel axis as 38 degree of freedoms. The difference of each wheel forces are evaluated for running speed on the bridge upto the increasing target speed to propose new evaluation standards of traffic safety.

Tunnel built in the late 1970 is currently being used by maintenance. For the maintenance of the tunnel, tamping materials filled backside cavity occurred during construction. In this paper, By investigating the filling state of backside cavity, It is to evaluate the filling effects of backside cavity and the adequacy of the repair and reinforcement.

We have carried out the bridge inspections according to the laws not considering the technical knowledge. It is reasonable to optimize the inspection practice within the limited resources. This study reviews the expressway bridge inspection practice by analysing the case of the developed countries.

To evaluate color change of concrete subjected to high temperature, we manufactured concrete samples and heated them to target temperatures of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800℃ in an electric oven and performed photo image analysis using photoshop computer software. The result of the study shows that color change using photo image analysis can be evaluated according to the different color coordinate.

Automated real-time monitoring system for ground settlement based on hole effect sensor has been developed to overcome lots of limitations of existing hand-operated monitoring system. This new technology utilizes the hole effect sensors and automatically measures the real time surface and multi-depth ground settlement from signals composed of multi-depth magnetic field measuring system. This system including pore pressure measuring sensor does not require reference points in remote distance and all mointoring system could be installed in a single boring hole.

In this study, an experimental research is conducted to determine the influence of field conditions on the soil dielectric constant in order to evaluate the feasibility of using TDR method as a cavity exploration. Dielectric constant of the ground considering field conditions(e.g. casing and ground disturbance) was measured using TDR method. The results conclude that the dielectric constant of ground tended to decrease with the increase in the water contents and density.

The importance of facility management has been increased. Management scheme is mainly for organizing the reports which in the form of electrical file, and provides an information service using facility management database. However, current system is not sufficient to interconnect the physical model with semantic information, also the consistency of data is not guaranteed. In this study, we propose a BIM (Building Information Modeling)-based facility management scheme to overcome this drawbacks. the objective of this paper is to briefly introduce the concept of BIM and major issues to develop the system.

Infrastructure safety and maintenance management(ISMM) is one of the most important parts for improving level of people's welfare. The government needs to set up their own improvement strategy for ISMM system. This study was initiated to suggest the strategy to improve ISMM system with long term perspective. In order to investigate the current status and problems of ISMM system, this study reviewed various literature related to the issues of the foreign ISMM systems and conducted the interview with ISMM experts. The strategy would be expected greatly to improve the safety and maintenance management system for domestic infrastructure.

A strain compatibility method is based on the strain compatibility approach proposed by AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc.). The strain compatibility method assumes a linear strain of all the members. After that, set up the equilibrium equations of the state of stress in each component for calculating the location of the neutral axis of the cross-section in the presence. In this study, the reinforced concrete simple beam is analyzed by strain compatibility method for calculating the neutral axis and the bending moment. And then, a variation of neutral axis of the reinforced concrete simple beam is measured.

By thermal-structural coupled stress analysis, the equivalent stress and total deformation of girder under the influence of the temperature of the liquid within pipeline of pipe-rack structure is studied. Firstly, steady-state thermal analysis is carried out using a commercial software. Then, to perform a thermal-structural coupled stress solution, structural analysis is linked to the thermal model at the Solution level. The simulation results showed that the stress ratio that considers the pipe’s temperature for thermal-structural coupled stress analysis is higher than the stress ratio that consider only the pipe’s weight for structural analysis. The thermal stress caused by temperature convection is found to be influential on the pipe rack structure.

This study includes an analytical investigation of a composite beam consist of concrete, structural tees, and the reinforcement steel. The plastic hinge length theories are applied to this composite beam to calculate maximum deflection exactly. This composite beam can reduce the floor height compared with the reinforced concrete structure with same internal force. To calculate maximum deflection, we used plastic hinge length suggested by Corley, Sawyer and Mattock. Later, the experimental investigation should be performed to find out the plastic hinge length exactly.

In this study, a reduction in inter-laminar shear strength of FRP reinforcing bars, which is domestically produced, subjected to high temperatures was investigated. The inter-laminar shear tests were conducted on the rebar specimens conditioned in a chamber for specified times at high temperatures. The exposure temperatures were 100℃∼300℃, The exposure time were 0.5 hours to 4 hours. It was found that the critical temperature was for both GFRP and CFRP reinforcing bars, 270℃. Based on the results, a linear equation for evaluation of the effect of exposure time is proposed.

To evaluate the strength and energy dissipation capacity of straight type metallic damper, cyclic tests are conducted with the target displacement variables on constant velocity. From the strength and energy dissipation capacity comparison, cyclic test results are short of the static test result. Therefore more detailed cyclic tests and researches are needed.

This study shows experimental loading tests on monolithic and spliced hybrid PSC girders with Y-type perfobond rib shear connectors. The main purposes of the study are to investigate the static behaviors of joint parts in the spliced girder and load-resisting capacity of Y-type perfobond rib shear connectors in steel-concrete composite connections. Two specimens (monolithic and spliced girder) with 10.3m length were manufactured and tested. As results of the loading tests, static it is expected that the spliced girder can be utilized effectively in practical design. In addition, Y-type perfobond rib shear connectors can be applied adequately in steel-concrete composite connections.

The coupling beams provide transfer of vertical forces between adjacent shear walls in coupled shear wall system, which creates a frame-like coupling action that resists lots of the total overturning moment induced by the wind load or seismic load. The purpose of this study is to investigate the strain characteristics performance of coupling beams with headed bar.

A composite structural system which combines the advantages of reinforced concrete and steel structure is a structural system that has superior performance compared to the existing structural systems. In recent years, according to the increasing of attention for composite structures, the researches for the composite structures are more carried out. The composite beam used in this study is consisted of pre-cast concrete, cast-in-place concrete, T-type steel, and reinforcing bars. The steels are only used in each ends of the beam. In this study, the reasonable steels length at the ends of the beam is analyzed by structural performance analysis for changing in the length of the steel.

Coupling beams of coupled shear wall systems are often the most critical members in medium or high rise buildings subject to seismic load or wind loads. To ensure the survival of shear walls under high-intensity cyclic loading, these beams, which normally have limited dimensions, should possess high deformability and good energy absorption while being able to resist large shear force. Experimental work are conducted to illustrate the design of special RC coupling beams using the proposed procedure reinforcement details.
