This experimental study investigates the influence on the tensile behavior of strain-hardening cement composite (SHCC) with HR and SWP Shrinkage Reducing Admixture (SRA). SRA can also improve the tensile strength and multiple cracks of SHCC material used in this study.

While carrying out a series of study for improving the durability of High Volume Admixture Concrete using the ERCO, we found that the resistance of freezing and thawing declined due to the decrease of air amount in concrete when using the ERCO. In order to solve the problem, we carried out an experiment using the DEM. As a result of that, it did not affect the basic characteristic of concrete, and the problem of decreasing air amount caused by using the ERCO is also considered to be solved by securing the target air amount.

Comparing with using ordinary Portland cement, using blast furnace slag as binder in concrete shows low resistance for carbonation phenomenon. In this research, we focus on carbonation of high volume blast furnace-blended concrete, analysis the reason and find a more efficient method which comparing with using ordinary Portland cement, using FC shows better effort on concrete carbonate resistant.

The recent global economic crisis caused the recession of the domestic real estate, and accordingly maintenance and remodeling on existing public housing has been growing interested. As the aging of public housing, it has caused the increase of the CO2 emissions and the worse of the residential environment. So this study is to derive at the optimal remodeling time with an minimize CO2 emissions. Remodeling of the public housing is included in the long-term repair plan to public unit and the private unit based on empirical studies. The exterior of high-rise public housing and water supply, sanitation, gas and ventilation equipment, heating and hot water supply facilities, etc., it was calculated CO2 emissions by repairs and remodeling. As a result, it can be predicted to when minimize CO2 emissions to the remodeling of public housing. And while maintaining the good condition of housing environment, the global environment friendly remodeling housing project can be expected to expand.

Blast furnace slag is recycled as high value-added material, while steel slag is difficult to recycle or is recycled as low value-added one relatively due to its expansion collapsability. It's property is caused by the high content of Free-CaO and unstable steel oxides. Currently, a technique to subdivide the process refining is introduced, can be divided into the electric furnace steel slag and reducing steel slag. In this study, Free-CaO in the electric arc furnace slag by the ethylene glycol method for the quantitative evaluation for the expansion to proceed with construction materials, electric arc furnace slag oxidation is to use.

The Slip form method is a one of typical construction methods of huge and continues concrete structure. The major advantage of slip form method could be summarized on shortening of construction period which dues on non-construction joint and needless of extra concrete curing time during construction. The slip form method has often applied for high concrete pylon construction. The steel which is conventional material for slip form, however, has shown a weakness in corrosion by chlorides, and a safety hazard from assembling and dis-assembling of heavyweight slip form. In this study, the GFRP which has high resistance to corrosion and relatively light weight than steel was applied to complement shortcomings from using conventional material of slip form. And an abrasion resistance test was carried to evaluate reusablility of GFRP form.

The corrosion is a main cause of degradation damage in the steel bridges. The evaluation whether the repair or reconstruction would be need or not for the corroded steel member, is based on cross section and quantity of corroded portion. It is considered reasonable that the evaluation will be base on the endurance of the corroded member. In this study, the bending endurance of the I-shaped steel girder with the local corrosion on the lower flange is discussed by using elastic-plastic finite element analyses. That simple way of estimating it is also proposed.

In a attempt to verify a reduction characteristic in leaching for hexavalent chromium from concrete structures, concrete specimens blended with Loess additive was exposed to sea environment followed by measuring the concentration of Hexavalent chromium from the specimens. Additional experiments with respect to basic properties of concrete with Loess additive were also performed. The entire results of experiments revealed that the reduction characteristic was predominant for concrete with Loess additive and basic properties of concrete with Loess additive were comparable to that of concrete with OPC.

The main purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data in reducing thermal cracks of mass concrete by using Urea. Substitution methods of Urea mixed concrete was different from existing substitution method of concrete. Therefore existing research for Urea mixed concrete had no definite criterion in performance evaluation. In this research, setting-up new criteria, Urea/Water ratio, when evaluating experiment results. As result of experiment, Cement Paste flow was increased largely when mixed in addition method. But there were almost no differences in degree of temperature reduction and time-delay.

The ultimate flexural behavior of composite shell structure stiffened by steel pipe is investigated experimentally in this paper. Total 4 kinds of experimental specimens are constructed according to the size of steel pipe and diameter of GFRP septic tank. The load-displacement curves of the test are provided. xial and hoop stress of GFRP septic tank and flexural stress of steel pipe are obtained. The experiment results are useful for the verification of three-dimensional numerical analysis.

In this study, it was evaluated the carbonation properties of concrete by replacement of the flyash after it was ground by vibration mill and was modified chemically. Also, it was compared to 1day, 3day, 7day, 28day and 56day-strength of the concrete, respectively.

In present study, leaching alkali ions in concrete are measured to inhibition of effect to binder(OPC, GGBS, Loess) at 100 days. As a result, OPC concrete was measured the value of pH 9.15 and GGBS concrete was showed the value of pH 8.61.

Set-controlling admixtures via granulation method may be secured the operation time by adjusting the response time. therefore, mortar with Set-controlling admixtures via granulation is measured setting-time. As a result, the possibility of initial reaction control confirmed and also was developed the required properties of setting-time.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of crack and water cement ratio on concrete carbonation. The influence factors of concrete carbonation were verified through the laboratory experiments considering crack width and depth of concrete. From this study, a method for evaluating of concrete carbonation with crack is suggested.

In this paper, modeling on equivalent diffusion coefficient in cracked concrete is performed for 1-D (Anisotropic) and 2-D (Isotropic) diffusion based on steady state condition. In the previous research, rectangular shape of crack was considered but the shape was modified to wedge shape with torturity. For verification of the proposed model, crack is induced in concrete sample and migration test in steady state is performed for 1-D diffusion. For 2-D diffusion, previous test results are adopted for verification. Through considering wedge shape of torturity, diffusion coefficients in 1-D and 2-D diffusion are reduced, and the more reasonable results are evaluated.

In order to get effective and useful results after experiments, it is essential to classify and analyze data resulted from experiments. After these processes, obtained data enables us to have meaningful indications. During experiments, the main concern was to find the reducing ratio of formaldehyde concentrations compared to reference level of added material which affect the indoor air quality. Finally, the main objective of this study is to validate on optimal added amount of eco-friendly material for functional concrete.
