        In this study, high purity fine powders were prepared by SHS (Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis). We would examinate the study of sintering properties and characteristics as a function of temperature with various additives (binder, sintering agent). In separately binder addition, the green and sintered density of specimen were increased as binder content increases. The increased porosity resulted in fine grain size due to the inhibition of grain boundary moving. The and MgO playa role of increasing dielectric constants at room temperature.         Aluminum hydroxides were synthesized by a simple electrolytic reaction of aluminum plates. The aluminum hydroxide, boehmite (AlO(OH)), was predominantly formed in the application of electrical potential at and above 30V, while the mixture of bayerite () and boehmite (AlO(OH)) phases were formed below 20V. The boehmite has a clear fibrous structure controlled on nanometer scale. On the contrary, the bayerite consists of the typical hourglass or semi-hourglass shaped coarse crystals as a result of aggregation of various crystals stacked together. The specific surface area of the boehmite nanofiber was markedly high, approaching at about .

        Recycling industrial wastes such as fly ash from a coal burning heat power plant and shell from an oyster farming were investigated to prevent environment contamination as well as to enhance the value of recycling materials. In this study, the lightweight aggregates and the red bricks were fabricated from fly ashes with other inorganic materials and wastes. The starting materials of the lightweight aggregate were fly ash powder and water glass, and the compacts of these materials were heat treated at . The fabricated lightweight aggregates had low bulk density, , hence floated on the water and had the strength of 7.0-11.0 MPa and the modulus of 2900-3300 MPa which indicates it has enough strength as the aggregate. Another type of the light weight aggregate was prepared from fly ashes, shell powders and clays. The bulk density, porosity, and compressive strength of these aggregates were and 5-12 MPa, respectively. The addition of a small amount of fly ash powder prevented hydration of the light weight aggregates. The red brick was also fabricated from the fly ash containing materials. It is suitable for the brick facing of a building as it has moderate strength and low water absorption rate.

        These studies were carried out to investigate the quality of green tea processed by different pan-firing hand rolling and to select the best conditions during the procedure of green tea processing the results were as follows. At harvestion tea plant leaf, tea plants had 4 leaves. each leaf size was 7.5 cm'§quare2.6 cm, and weight of 100 buds 46.6 g. The increase of pan-fired time decreased in the moisture content and yield of green tea. After processing green tea, 5 times pan-fired one had much more contents of total nitrogen (T-N:5.31%), caffeine (2.00%) and total amino acid (T.A.A. : 3,046 mg%) and less content of tannin (13.41%) than the other treatments. but 3 times pan-fired one had the highest contents of vitamin C (204.3 mg%) and chlorophyll (365.0 mg%) among three kinds pan-firing method. Sixteen kinds of free amino acid including theanine as a good taste component of pan-fired green tea were isolated and measured by HPLC. Free amino acid (FAA) contents were in the range of 2,683~2,925 mg% and among various pan-firing methods, 5 tims pan-fired one had the highest content of F.A.A. Among these free amino acids, theanine occupied as much as 56.4~61.3% of F.A.A. Lightness, yellowness and redness of 5 times pan-fired green tea were middle value among three different treatments. Besides, it gained the highest score of sensory evaluation among them. These above results suggested that 5 times pan-fired green tea was considered to be the best level as pan-firing times of green tea processing.

        Modified polyesters (TTBA-10C, -20C, -30C) that contain phosphorus and chlorine were synthesized by the condensation polymerization of tetramethylene bis(orthophosphate), neohexanediol trichlorobenzoate, 1,4-butanediol and adipic acid, in which tetramethylene bis(orthophosphate) and neohexanediol trichlorobenzoate were prepared previously in our laboratory. In this study, two-component flame-retardant polyurethane coatings (TTBA-10C/HDI-trimer=TTHD-10C, TTBA-20C/ HDI-trimer= TTHD-20C, TTBA-30C/HDI-trimer= TTHD-30C) were obtained by curing at room temperature with the synthesized TTBAs and hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI)-trimer as a curing agent. The obtained TTHDs were made into coating samples and used as test samples for various physical properties. The physical properties of the flame-retardant coatings containing chlorine and phosphorus groups were generally inferior to those containing only phosphorus group. Flame retardancy was tested by vertical and horizontal combustion method, and 45˚ Meckel burner method. Since the retardancy of flame-retardant coatings containing chlorine and phosphorus groups was better than that containing only phosphorus group, it could be concluded that the retardancy by the synergism effect of chlorine and phosphorus groups exhibited.

        Many researches and analyses have been focused on industrial accidents in order to predict and reduce them. As a similar endeavor, this paper is to develop an expert system for prevention of industrial accidents. Although various previous studies have been performed to prevent industrial accidents, these studies only provide managerial and educational policies using frequency analysis and comparative analysis based on data from past industrial accidents. As an initial step for the purpose of this study, this paper provides a comparative analysis of 4 kinds of algorithms including CHAID, CART, C4.5, and QUEST. Decision tree algorithm is utilized to predict results using objective and quantified data as a typical technique of data mining. Enterprise Miner of SAS and Answer Tree of SPSS will be used to evaluate the validity of the results of the four algorithms. The sample for this work was chosen from 10,536 data related to manufacturing industries during three years(2002~2004) in korea. The initial sample includes a range of different businesses including the construction and manufacturing industries, which are typically vulnerable to industrial accidents.

        In this study, we prepared porous cation exchange membrane using polystyrene such as, EPS (expanded polystyrene), SAN (styrene acrylonitrile copolymer) and HIPS (high impactive polystyrene). These polystyrenes were sulfonated by acetyl sulfate to make porous cation exchange membrane such as, SEPS, SSAN, SHIPS. SEM was employed to confirm porous structure of membrane, and IR spectroscopy was used to confirm sulfonation rate of ion exchange membrane. Water and methanol content were also increased with amount of sulfuric acid in reactants. SSAN-20 showed the highest value in water and methanol content. Fixed ion concentration and conductivity was also increased with an amount of sulfuric acid in reactants. Methanol permeability for SEPS-20, SSAN-20, SHIPS-20 was found to be 1.326 × 10-5 cm2/s, 1.527 × 10-5 cm2/s and 1.096 × 10-5 cm2/s respectively. From the result of electrodialysis experiment in 0.03 M Pb(NO3)2 aqueous solution, anion exclusion and cation selection effects were confirmed.

        실리카 입자를 기공 형성제로 사용하여 다공성 키토산 및 키틴 막을 제조하였다. 다공성 막의 제조는 다음의 3단계 절차로서 수행되었다: (1) 키토산 용액에 실리카 입자를 첨가시켜 필름을 형성시킨 후, (2) 이 필름을 알카리 용액에 침지시켜 실리카 입자를 제거하여 다공성의 키토산 막을 제조하였으며, (3) 다공성 키토산 막을 acetic anhydride를 사용하여 아세틸화시킴으로서 다공성 키틴 막을 제조하였다. 물리적 강도가 우수하고, 적절한 순수 투과량을 갖는 다공성 키토산 막과 키틴 막의 최적 제막조건이 제시되었다. 단백질 친화성을 부여하기 위해 다공성 키토산 막에 반응성 염료인 Cibacron Blue 3GA를 고정화시켰으며, BSA 단백질 및 lysozyme 효소의 흡착실험을 수행하여 친화 키토산 막 및 키틴 막의 단백질 결합용량을 측정하였다. 친화 키토산 막의 BSA 단백질 결합용량은 약 22 mg/mL이었으며, 친화 키틴 막의 lysozyme 효소 결합용량은 약 26 mg/mL로서 이는 키토산 또는 키틴을 기반으로 하여 제조된 hydrogel bead의 단백질 결합용량보다 수~수십 배 큰 값으로서, 향후 막여과 크로마토그래피용 친화 막으로의 효과적인 활용이 기대된다.

        Solvent-free low foaming scouring agents (LFSC) were prepared by blending of 2-ethylhexylaminoethyl sulfate (2-EHAS), POE(10) octadecylbenzyl- ammonium chloride (POBAC) and Sedlan FF-200 (FF-200). As the results of several tests, 2-EHAS/POBAC/FF-200/water (8g/12g/20g/60g) mixture (LFSC-5) showed good cleaning power, penetrating ability and stability to alkali, and gave less problem in water pollution. The foaming power of LFSC-5 measured by Ross and Miles method was 8mm foam height immediately after foaming, and that measured by Ross and Clark method was less than 300mm foam height at 30℃, and 18mm at 80℃. As a result, LFSC-5 proved a good low foaming scouring agent for fiber.

        본 연구는 불소관능기인 perfluorocyclobutane (PFCB)과 fluorene계 방향족 화합물을 동시에 포함하는 술폰화된 고분자 전해질 막의 제조 및 그 특성에 관한 것이다. 이러한 고분자 전해질 막은 세 단계의 합성, 즉 trifluorovinyloxy그룹을 양말단에 포함하는 fluorene계 단량체의 합성, 중부가 반응 형태의 열중합, 그리고 chlorosulfonic acid를 이용한 후술폰화(post-sulfonation)를 통하여 얻어졌다. 후술폰화 반응은 일정한 시간과 온도 조건하에서 술폰화제의 첨가 비율을 달리하여 진행되었으며, 이에 따라 다양한 이온교환 능력(IEC)을 가지는 고분자를 합성할 수 있었다. 제조된 단량체 및 고분자들의 구조와 순도는 각각 FT-IR과 NMR 그리고 질량분석기를 통하여 확인되었다. 사용된 술폰화제의 양이 많아질수록 술폰화도와 이온교환 능력이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었고 그에 따른 함수율도 역시 증가하는 거동을 보였다. 술폰화된 고분자들의 이온전도도를 측정한 결과 술폰화도가 증가할수록 이온 전도도가 증가하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이렇게 제조된 전해질막 중 IEC 값이 1.86 mmol/g인 고분자(sulfonated polymer 4)의 경우 다양한 온도범위(25~80℃)에서 상용 전해질막인 Nafion-115를 능가하는 우수한 이온전도도를 나타냈다.

        Through the volume change of Sn in a low-temperature phase transformation, the Sn nanopowder with high, purity, was fabricated by an economic and eco-friendly process. The fine cracks were spontaneously generated. in, Sn ingot, which was reduced to powders in the repetition of phase transformation.
