        농촌진흥청 국립원예특작과학원에서는 2017년에 절화 수명이 길고 수량이 많은 연한 핑크색의 스프레이 장미 ‘Pink Shine’ 을 육성하였다. 모본은 ‘Fire Flash’로 붉은 복색의 스프레이 장미이며, 부본은 ‘Pink Charm’으로 핑크색이며 흰가루병에 강하다. 이 두 품종을 2012년 인공교배하여 이듬해인 2013년 1월에 파종, 9cm 포트 묘에 정식하여 관능 평가 실시 후 도태시켜 39개체 의 실생을 얻었다. 이후 화형, 화색, 꽃잎 수, 절화수량, 병 저항성 등을 고려하여 2015년까지 5개체를 선발하여 유사 품종인 ‘Missha’를 대조로 하여 2017년까지 3차에 걸친 특성 검정을 실시하였다. 그 결과 가장 우수한 ‘원교 D1-325’를 최종선발하여 ‘Pink Shine’으로 명명 후 2018년 3월 22일 품종보호출원(제 2018-212호)하여 2019년 6월 21일에 품종보호권(제7786호)이 등록되었다. 화색은 연한 핑크색(RHS, R36D)이며 잎의 색은 녹색(RHS, G137A)으로 대조 품종 ‘Missha’와 동일하였다. 꽃잎 수는 67.8개, 화폭 5.4cm, 화고 3.2cm로 ‘Missha’보다 컸으며 평방미터당 연간 절화수량은 131본, 절화수명은 15.3일로 ‘Missha’ 보다 우수하였다.

        Recently, many studies have shown that propolis has diverse health beneficial effects such as anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammation, and anti-oxidant activities. Water-insolubility of propolis has made it extremely difficult in manufacturing health beneficial beverages containing propolis. In this study, the solubility of propolis was dramatically improved by entrapping with beta-cyclodextrin and the prebiotics effect of water-soluble propolis on the yogurt fermentation was investigated. Lactobacillus pentosus SC60 was selected as a starter for the yogurt fermentation due to its high DPPH radical scavenging activity. Low-fat milk which was supplemented with different concentrations of propolis (0.01, 0.05, 0.1, or 0.5% (w/v)) was fermented with L. pentosus SC60 for 30 h and the viable cell number, pH, and titratable acidity were checked. The rates of decrease in pH and increase in titratable acidity of yogurt after 12 h of fermentation were the highest when 0.5% (w/v) propolis were supplemented. Meanwhile pH and titratable acidity of yogurt without propolis reached 4.54 and 0.73%, respectively, most slowly after 30 hoffer mentation when compared with other yogurts supple mented with propolis. The viable cell number of L. pentosus SC60 in yogurt with 0.5% (w/v) propolis increased with highest rate and it exceeded 9 log CFU/mL at 8 h of fermentation, but that of yogurt with no propolis was only 8.54 log CFU/mL at 30 h of fermentation. This results showed that L. pentosus SC60 grew very well in the presence of water-soluble propolis and it is proposed that propolis acts as prebiotics

        This research was conducted in order to understand the hybridization between Quercus aliena Blume and Q. serrata Murray in Korea which show wide range of morphological variations within species and interspecific variations of diverse overlapping characteristics caused by hybridization. Morphological analysis (principal components analysis; PCA) of 116 individuals representing two species and their intermediates were performed. As a result, two species were clearly distinguished in terms of morphology, and intermediate morpho-types assumed to be hybrids between the two species were mostly located in the middle of each parent species in the plot of the principal components analysis. There was a clear distinction between two species in trichome distribution pattern which is an important diagnostic character in taxonomy of genus Quercus, whereas intermediate morpho-types showed intermediate state between two species’ trichome distributions. Forty-two individuals representing two species and their intermediates were examined for leaf flavonoid constituents. Twenty-three flavonoid compounds were isolated and identified: They were glycosylated derivatives of flavonols, kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin and myricetin. The flavonoid constituents of Q. aliena were five glycosylated derivatives: kaempferol 3-O-galactoside, kaempferol 3-O-glucoside, quercetin 3-O-galactoside, quercetin 3-O-glucoside, and Isorhamnetin 3-O-glucoside. The flavonoid constituents of Q. serrata had 20 diverse flavonol compounds including five flavonoid compounds found in Q. aliena. It was found that there is a clear difference in flavonoid constituents of Q. aliena and Q. serrata. Flavonoid chemistry is very useful in recognizing each species and putative hybrids. The flavonoid constituents of intermediates were a mixture of the two species’ constituents and they generally showed similar characteristics to morpho-types. The hybrids between Q. aliena and Q. serrata showed morphologically and chemically diverse characteristics and it is assumed that there are frequent interspecific hybridization and introgression.

        A surveillance of chigger mites was conducted to clarify the incidence of scrub typhus vectors by new chigger mite collecting traps instead of trapping wild rodents for surveillance from each 4 collection points of 5 regions from September to November 2012 in Korea. During the surveillance period, 2,829 chiggers were collected and 10 species of 4 genera were identified. The first appearance of chigger mite and patients was 39 week (9.19~9.25) and the density of chigger mites had the peak in 43 week (10.17~10.23) and the density of patients had the peak in 44 week (10.24~10.30), respectively. In Goryeong-gun, a total of 1,797 mites representing 4 genera and 6 species were collected and the predominant species were Leptotrombidium scutellare (86.0%), L. pallidum (6.5%) and L. palpale (4.7%) whereas, In Gurye-gun, a total of 89 mites representing 2 genera and 3 species were collected and the predominant species were L. scutellare (46.5%) and L. palpale (36.2%) in similar to the natural environment. The high collecting rates were recorded at rice field (71.8%) and waterway (11.6%). This result shows that the surveillance of scrub typhus vectors by new chigger mite collecting trap is useful as an eco-friendly method.

        마늘장아찌를 여러 가지 방법으로 담금하여 시제품을 제조한 후 숙성과정 중 alliinase 활성의 변화를 조사 분석한 결과는 다음과 같았다. 간장에 담근 마늘장아찌 숙성 중의 alliinas 활성은 생마늘의 alliinase 활성이 8.73 units/㎎ protein인데 비하여 담금 1주일 후의 마늘장아찌 고형물은 4.57 units/㎎ rpotein으로 잔존 활성이 52%, 담금 2주일 후에는 1.05 units/㎎ protein으로 잔존 활성이 12% 정도로 급속히 감소하였다. 식초에 담근 마늘장아찌 숙성 중의 alliinase 활성은 생마늘의 alliinase 활성이 8.73 units/㎎ protein인데 비하여 담금 1주일 후에 마늘장아찌 고형물은 2.79 units/㎎ protein으로 잔존 활성이 32%, 담금 2주일 후에는 0.26 units/㎎ protein으로 잔존 활성이 3%로 저하하였다. 소금물에 1주일 담근 후 식초에 담근 마늘장아찌의 alliinase 활성은 10% 소금물에 담금 1주일째에 alliinase의 활성이 5.06 units/㎎ protein으로 간장에 담그었을 때부다 약간 높은 잔존활성이 58%를 나타내었으나 액즙을 제거하고 식초에 다시 담그므로서 담금 2주일 후에는 0.85 units/㎎ protein으로 잔존 활성이 10% 이하로 감소하였다. 식초에 1주일 담근 후 간장에 담근 마늘장아찌의 alliinase 활성은 식초에 담금 1주일 째에 alliinase의 활성이 2.79 units/㎎ protein으로 잔존 활성이 32%를 나타내었으나 액즙을 제거하고 간장에 다시 담그므로서 담금 2주일 후에는 0.43 units/㎎ protein으로 잔존 활성이 5% 이하로 감소하였다.

        홑파래로부터 황산기를 함유한 다당체를 크로마토그래피로 분리정제하여 rhamnan sulfate가 항보체 활성화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 항보체 활성능력은 F-4-3 획분을 비교군으로 Heparin H-180, Dextran과 비교해 결과 비교군보다 높았고, C4a와 C3a의 convertase의 형성과 기능을 F-4-3 획분이 억제하였다. 이러한 보체 활성화 양식은 classical pathway 및 alternative pathway로도 경유함을 알 수 있었다.

        This study was performed to investigate the nutritional knowledge and dietary patterns of 450 high school girls in some areas of Seoul. The survey conducted from September 20 to 25, 1993. The results obtained were summarized as follows ; The average height and weight of the subjects were 160.2±5.0cm and 52.3±6.7kg respectively. The average obesity index of the subjects was 96.8±11.7%. Menarche was at 13 years of age in 35.6% of the subjects and at after 14 years of age in 37.3% of them. The average score of nutritional knowledge was 60.04±14.49 and the average score of perceived nutritional knowledge was 83.9±14.44. The mean score of nutritional knowledge was 49.61±13.45. 35.6% of subjects ranked lecture of score as their primary sources of nutritional information. Major dietary problems of subjects were eating rapidly, skipping breakfast, unbalanced diet and choice of snacks according taste. Underweight group showed significantly higher than other groups in unbalanced diet(P<0.01) and showed significantly higher than other groups in taking a medicine(P<0.001). Obese group showed significantly lower than other groups in remaining meals and unbalanced diet(P<0.05) and showed significantly higher than other groups in voereating.

        콩우유와 우유를 혼합한 고단백음료의 제조를 위하여 콩우유 단백질의 열처리에 대한 안정성을 밝히고 혼합비율을 달리하여 제조된 혼합유의 가용성 단백질에 가열온도, pH, 당과 Ca의 첨가량이 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 100℃에서 시간별로 열처리시킨 콩우유를 830×g∼29, 900×g의 범위에서 30분간 원심분리 시킨 상등액의 가용성 질소를 정량한 결과 11, 200×g가 적절한 조건으로 선택되었다. 콩우유를 70∼100℃에서 4시간까지 가열시켜 위의 원심분리조건으로 가용성 질소를 측정한 결과, 70℃에서는 28.0%, 100℃에서는 43.2%가 열에 의한 변성으로 침강되었음이 밝혀졌다. 혼합비율별 콩우유 및 우유의 혼합유를 80℃ 및 100℃에서 가열하였을 때 20 %의 콩우유 첨가구가 15% 내외의 변성이 일어나 빠른 혼합유보다 변성이 많았으며 1시간 가열로 대부분의 변성이 일어났다. 또한 혼합유의 pH를 3∼8의 범위로 100℃에서 30분간 가열하였을 때 pH 4.0에서 14.6 ∼ 20.5 %의 %SN이 측정되어 가장 많은 침강을 보였으며 pH 8.0까지 증가하면서 침강된 변성단백질의 양은 지속적으로 감소하였다. 당의 첨가영향은 sucrose를 9%까지 증가시켰을 때 혼합유의 %SN에 큰 영향을 주지는 않았으나 콩우유(100%)는 단백질의 침강정도가 약간 증가하는 경향을 보였다. Ca의 첨가에 의한 콩우유(100%)의 %SN은 약 55%로 가장 많은 단백질의 침강을 보였으며 우유의 혼합비율이 많아지면서 침강단백질이 감소하였다.

        Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr) is a short day plant and has been adapted to various climates and environments during cultivation. However, the cultivation area is restricted to a very narrow range of latitudes. To date, nine major genes (E1 to E8 and J) have been reported to control the flowering time and maturity. Here, we evaluated the role of E2, E3, E4, and their paralogue genes in late flowering soybean cultivars under long day (LD) conditions using Soybean yellow common mosaic virus (SYCMV)-based virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) system. A total of nine VIGS constructs were infiltrated into two fully expanded cotyledons and primary leaves. After inoculation with these VIGS constructs on Jangyeobkong, which is a late-flowering cultivar, phenotypic traits were evaluated for the first flowering dates (FFDs) and pod maturities under LD conditions. The FFDs of the silenced plants occurred 50-56 days after sowing (das), while the non-silenced plants bloomed on 60-61 days. We found that the E3 paralogue-silenced plants flowered the fastest and responsive genes were identified to be associated with the promotion of flowering time. As the knock-down of E3 paralogue, expression of E1 was up-regulated, E2 was no difference, E3 and E4 genes were down-regulated in the silenced plants. Expression of GmFT2a and GmFT5a is known to be controlled by E3 and E4. Interestingly, GmFT5a were highly expressed in SYCMV:E3 paralogue-silenced plants, whereas the expression of GmFT2a was not significant. These results support that GmFT5a is able to independently promote flowering under LD conditions.

        A new rose variety, ‘Venus Berry’ was selected from the progenies of a cross between ‘Boy Friend’ and ‘GSR10315’ by rose breeding team of the Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services(GARES) in 2011. ‘Venus Berry’ was crossed in 2007 and seedlings were produced. After the test of specific characters from 2008 to 2011, it was finally selected and named. ‘Venus Berry’ was developed because of distinctive characters such as growth uniformity and high yielding potential. The petal of flower is so thick and has no scratch. A standard type with large sized flower, it has light pink(Red Purple Group 69C) color flower. ‘Venus Berry’ takes 45 days from pruning to blooming and cut flower productivity was 194.1 stems/m2 in a year. The length of cut flower was long with 65.5 cm. It has 10.2 cm in flower diameter and 43.6 in petal numbers per flower. Vase life of the this cultivar could be as long as 12 days.

After the test of specific characters from 2008 to 2011, it was finally selected and named. ‘Love Letter’ was developed because of distinctive characters such as growth uniformity and high yielding potential. A standard type with large sized flower, It has red(Red Group 46A) color flower. ‘Love Letter’ takes 43 days from pruning to blooming and cut flower productivity was 152 stems/m2 in a year. The stems of cut flower have no thorn and the length was long with 70.5 cm. It has 9.3 cm in flower diameter and 32.4 in petal numbers per flower. Vase life of the this cultivar could be as long as 12 days.

        광나무(L. lucidum)는 ursolic acid와 oleanolic acid를 다량 포함하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 광나무 열매, 줄기, 잎 세 부위 추출물의 항주름 효능을 평가하였다. 광나무 추출물은 human skin fibroblasts에서 독성이 없을 뿐만 아니라 MMP-1과 MMP-2의 발현을 감소시키고 COL1A1의 발현을 증가시켰다. 이들 추출물은 모두 농도 의존적으로 COL1A1의 발현을 증가시켰으며 MMP-1과 MMP-2의 발현을 감소시켰다. 광나무 세 부위 추출물 가운데, 열매 부위에 가장 많은 양의 ursolic acid 와 oleanolic acid가 함유되어 있었으며 가장 강한 COL1A1 upregulating 효과와 MMP-1과 MMP-2 downregulating 효과를 나타냈다. 이처럼 항주름 효능을 보이는 광나무 열매 추출물은 기능성 화장품 소재로 개발될 수 있는 가능성이 있다.
