        NGC 7023 have been observed in ^(12)CO and ^(13)CO (J=1→ 0) molecular line emissions. It possesses bipolar molecular outflows which are moving out both eastward and westward in Right Ascension with a velocity range of ±9 ㎞s^(-1) with an inclination of ∼80° The mass loss rate is ∼10^(-5)M◎_(yr)^(-1) with an assumed stellar wind velocity of ∼100㎞s^(-1); the dynamical age of this outflow is ∼5.5×10⁴ years. The bipolar molecular outflows would be collimated by the molecular disk surrounding HD 200775, which is explained by either the velocity gradient of ∼0.25 ㎞s^(-1) are min^(-1) in the position-velocity map of ^(12)CO along the Declination or the peak temperature maps of both ^(12)CO and ^(12)CO. The outflows also yield high density regions at their ends, producing the region of the low mass star formation.

        6·25전쟁 이후 급증한 성매매여성을 돕기 위해 세워진 애란원의 설립자 반애란 선교사는 기독교적 여성 인식을 바탕으로 ‘한번 성매매에 빠진 여성은 회복이 불가하다’는 한국 사회의 편견을 극복하기 위해 노력하며 이들에 대한 복지의 필요성을 촉구하였다. 또한 국내 최초의 미혼모 보호시설의 설립을 통하여 태아의 생명 보호 및 모성보호에 가장 먼저 앞장섰다. 이러한 활동은 요보호여성 복지사업에 있어서 다양한 기관들의 관심과 연합을 이끌어내었다. 반애란 선교사의 설립 정신이자 애란원이 추구하는 태아의 생명존중, 모성 보호, 가정보존 등의 가치는 한국 기독교가 지향하는 사회 윤리와도 그 맥을 같이 한다. 결국 애란원의 설립과 성장은 기독교의 가치가 한국 사회 전반에 공유 될 뿐 아니라 정부 정책의 변화를 이끌어내고 유교 전통의 영향력을 대체하는 여성 인식의 새로운 기준으로 자리 잡은 사례라 볼 수 있으며, 이러한 점으로 인해 한국 교회사에서도 역사적인 의의를 가진다고 할 수 있다.

        Water temperature is one of the most important factors of fish survival, affecting the habitat, migration route, development, and reproduction. This experiment studied the induction level of heat shock protein (HSP70) mRNA and protein in a walleye pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus) primary hepatocyte culture based on different temperatures. Hepatocytes were attached at 7.5 °C for 24 hours. Hsp70 induction levels were then measured for 48 hours at 5, 8, 11, 14, and 17 °C. The induction level was lowest at 5 °C and generally increased with temperature until 14 °C. The induction level was reduced at 17 °C, indicating that 14 °C is the highest tolerable temperature for hepatocytes. These data indicate that primary hepatocyte cell culture is under no stress at 5 and 8 °C. Temperatures greater than 11 °C induce stress, showing similar induction patterns in both mRNA and protein in hepatocytes. The results suggest that 14 °C is the maximum internal defense temperature of walleye pollock survival.

        Seoullo7017, an elevated linear park, was created to redevelop obsolete road infrastructure as public space, which provides unique landscapes. This study was aimed to evaluate and suggest proper planting design for improving psychological benefits in Seoullo7017. Field survey and simulation experiment were carried out to investigate the user’s perception on the landscapes. Many users had negative feelings of the present landscapes in Seoullo7017, due to concrete pavement and simple planting design using big concrete pots. Landscape simulation experiment showed this perception could change depending on planting design. In especial, herb species played an important role in improving the quality of landscape in a linear park and providing positive feelings such as refreshment, warmth and naturalness. This study suggested that planting design in a linear space needs to be focused rather on the planting style and species than the volume of greens.

        본 논문은 철근콘크리트 보-기둥 접합부에서 기계적 정착되어진 보의 SD700 고강도 인장철근에 대한 정착성능을 평가하기 위하여 진행되어진 실험의 일부결과를 나타낸 것이다. 보통모멘트 골조에 적용되는 보-기둥 접합부 배근 설계를 하였으며, 실험체는 기둥에 접합되는 보를 제작하지 않고 보 인장철근에 인장을 주고 보 압축응력은 등가면적에 해당하는 압축판 을 이용하여 단순화하여 시험하였다. 실험결과로부터 기계적 정착된 고강도철근의 정착강도, 접합부 전단강도, 철근의 분담 응력, 파괴모드 등이 분석 비교되어진다.

        The ionospheric mid-latitude trough (IMT) is the electron density depletion phenomenon in the F region during nighttime. It has been suggested that the IMT is the result of complex plasma processes coupled to the magnetosphere. In order to statistically investigate the characteristics of the IMT, we analyze topside sounding data from Alouette and ISIS satellites in 1960s and 1970s. The IMT position is almost constant for seasons and solar activities whereas the IMT depth ratio and the IMT feature are stronger and clearer in the winter hemisphere under solar minimum condition. We also calculated transition heights at which the densities of oxygen ions and hydrogen/helium ions are equal. Transition heights are generally higher in daytime and lower in nighttime, but the opposite aspects are seen in the IMT region. Utilizing the Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR) electron temperature measurements, we find that the electron temperature in the IMT region is enhanced at night during winter. The increase of electron temperature may cause fast transport of the ionospheric plasma to the magnetosphere via ambipolar diffusion, resulting in the IMT depletion. This mechanism of the IMT may work in addition to the simply prolonged recombination of ions proposed by the traditional stagnation model.

        This study was carried out to investigate the changes in the amount of 20 free amino acids in PDB (Potato Dextrose Broth) medium during the incubation period while cultivating Lentinula edodes. The total incubation period was 90 days, and the total amount of free amino acids was confirmed every 45 days. Among the 18 kinds of amino acids whose increase and decrease patterns were confirmed, 10 amino acids were increased compared to that in the control, among which cysteine increased from its initial value of 9,889 ± 3 μg/L to 12,909 ± 2 μg/L at 45 days and 29,256 ± 4 μg/L at 90 days. Six amino acids with decreased expression patterns were identified. Arginine decreased to 83,751 ± 2 μg/L after 45 days from its initial value of 161,787 ± 1 μg/L and to 79,055 ± 7 μg/L at 90 days.

        This article analyzes the diplomatic aspects of Egyptian-North Korean relations, with a brief overview of the era of Gamal Abdel Nasser and with a focus on Anwar el-Sadat’s presidency. On the basis of Hungarian, U.S., and Romanian archival documents, it investigates why the post-1973 reorientation of Egyptian foreign policy toward a pro-American position did not lead to a breakdown of the Egyptian-North Korean partnership. The article describes such episodes as North Korea’s military contribution to the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, Egyptian-North Korean cooperation in the Non-Aligned Movement, Kim Il Sung’s equivocal reactions to the Egyptian-Israeli peace process, and the militant Arab states’ dissatisfaction with Pyongyang’s unwillingness to condemn the “treacherous” Camp David Accords. It concludes that the main pillars of the Sadat-Kim Il Sung partnership were their simultaneous cooperation with China, their shared enmity for the USSR, and their fear of diplomatic isolation. Still, the North Korean leaders, anxious as they were to prevent an Egyptian-South Korean rapprochement, were more often compelled to adapt to Egypt’s diplomatic preferences than vice versa. The ambivalence, vacillation, prevarication, and opportunism that characterized Pyongyang’s interactions with Cairo belied the common image of North Korea as an iron-willed, militant state cooperating with other revolutionary regimes on the basis of equality, mutual trust, and anti-imperialist solidarity.

        Background: This present study was conducted to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and immune regulatory effects of Aucklandia lappa Decne (AL). Methods and Results: We measured cytotoxicity, nitric oxide (NO) content, mRNA expression (iNOS, IL-1α, IL-1β, and TNF-α), protein expression (iNOS, COX-2, and IκB-α) and phagocytic activity in RAW264.7 cells. Male BALB/c mice were fed 100 ㎎/㎏ AL (Aucklandia lappa Decneon 70% ethanol extract) and 250 ㎎/㎏ AL for 4 weeks; thereafter, we observed B/T or CD4+/CD8+ lymphocyte subpopulation change, and expression patterns of CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes by immunohistochemical staining in mouse splenocytes and/or thymocytes. To determine the experimental concentration of AL, cell viability was measured by MTT assay and tested at 12.5 ㎍/㎖ or less. AL inhibited the levels of NO, lymphokine production (IL-1β, and TNF-α), and mRNA (iNOS, IL-1α, IL-1β, and TNF-α) and protein (iNOS, and COX-2) expression. Additionally, the levels of IκB-α, phagocytic activity, and splenic and thymic T lymphocytes, especially TH and TC cells were significantly increased in AL administered mice. The immuno-reactive density of CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes was stronger in AL groups than in the normal group. AL stimulated NO, iNOS, and COX-2, and regulated IL-1α, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IκB-α in macrophages treated with LPS (lipopolysaccharide). In addition, AL increased the phagocytic activity of macrophages and the immunity of mouse T (TH, and TC) cells. Conclusions: These results suggested that AL might show anti-inflammatory activity via the suppression of various inflammatory markers and immuno-regulatory activity.

        In recent years, the relations between the United States (US) and the countries of the Korean Peninsula began to play a more important role for China. With the improvement of the level of Chinese scholarship, as well as the rapid declassification of the archival material on pre-1980 Cold War history, there emerged a lot of academic publications in China on the 1970s history of US relations with the two Koreas. Although Chinese scholars took different perspectives on this subject, the mainstream view maintains that with the ease of the Cold War tensions in the Northeast Asia, the relations between the United States and the countries on the Peninsula changed in the varying degrees in the 1970s: on the one hand, although the United States and South Korea still maintained their alliance, their relationship was characterized by friction and contradictions, as the issue of the withdrawal of the US troops and the human rights debates had vividly demonstrated; on the other hand, US-North Korean relations were marked by the rapid process of bilateral relaxation. In general, Chinese academic literature on US-South Korean relations is much more profound compared to the scholarly work on American relations with North Korea. And while in recent years remarkable progress has been made by Chinese scholars, there is still plenty of room for improvement, especially in terms of broadening interdisciplinary studies and theory, utilizing multi-archival material, conducting in-depth research of the political systems, the decision-making processes in the relevant countries, as well as the politics within the lower levels of government, etc.

        Hartmann’s procedure is most often used if immediate anastomosis is not feasible and considered very high risk of anastomotic leakage. The reversal of Hartmann operation has a significant benefit in patient's quality of life, but there are disadvantages because it is procedure of a high degree of complexity. For reversal of Hartmann operation to be truly beneficial, morbidity rate should be reasonable. The aim of this study is therefore to review clinical outcomes of the conversion of Hartmann procedure and define the complication rate of reversal of Hartmann operation in a contemporary practice. Patients undergoing an elective reversal of Hartmann’s procedure at Chosun University Hospital between January 2011 and December 2016 were included in our analysis, and the medical records were retrospectively reviewed. Total 70 patients underwent Hartmann reversal during this period. There were 33 men (47.1%) and the mean age was 67.7±14.5. The most frequent indications for Hartmann’s procedure were complicated diverticulitis in 37 patients (52.9%). Major morbidity rate was 14.3 % (10 patients), anastomotic leakage rate of 4.3% and mortality rate was 2.9% (2 patients). The most common complication was wound infection (25.7%). Univariate analysis demonstrated that there were no statistically significant variables. This study demonstrates that patients who underwent reversal of their Hartmann’s operation did not have increased postoperative morbidity based on advanced age, higher ASA score, presence of multiple comorbidities, type of operation, and longer operation time.

        버려지는 마늘껍질의 자원으로써의 활용 가치를 확인하기 위해 마늘껍질 70% 에탄올 추출물(GPE)을 이용하여 인체에서 유래된 폐암 세포(A549), 위암 세포(AGS), 유방암 세포(MCF-7), 간암 세포(Hep3B) 및 대장암 세포(HT-29)의 생존율에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 폐암 세포(A549)의 경우 200 μg/mL의 저 농도에서는 A549 세포의 생존율이 100%로 증식 억제 효과가 나타나지 않았으나 500 μg/mL 이상의 농도에서는 A549 세포의 생존율이 10% 이하로 떨어지면서 우수한 폐암 세포 증식 억제 활성이 확인되었다. 위암 세포에 대한 조사에서는 1,000 μg/mL의 농도에서 55%의 생존율을 확인할 수 있었고, 최고 2,000 μg/mL의 농도에서 71%의 위암 세포 증식 억제활성이 확인되었다. 유방암 세포(MCF-7)의 경우 200 μg/mL의 저 농도에서 78%, 500 μg/mL 이상의 농도 처리 결과에서는 모두 90% 전후의 유방암 세포 증식 억제활성이 확인되었다. 간암 세포의 경우 100 μg/mL의 저 농도에서도 57%의 억제 활성이 확인되어, GPE의 매우 우수한 간암 세포 증식 억제 활성이 확인되었고, 처리되는 GPE의 농도가 증가함에 따라 500 μg/mL 농도까지 농도 의존적으로 간암 세포에 대한 증식 억제 활성은 증가되어 간암 세포의 생존율이 13%까지 저하되었다. 대장암 세포(HT-29)의 경우 200 μg/mL의 저 농도 처리에서 15%, 500 μg/mL 농도 처리에서 85%, 1,000 μg/mL의 고농도 처리에서 93%의 간암세포 증식 억제율이 확인되었으며, 농도 의존적으로 간암 세포에 대한 생장 억제 효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 마늘껍질 70% 에탄올 추출물 GPE는 조사된 제일 낮은 농도(100 μg/mL)에서도 간암 세포의 증식을 57% 억제하는 우수한 활성이 확인되었고, 200 μg/mL의 저 농도 범위에서는 유방암과 간암 세포의 증식을 72-78% 억제하는 높은 활성이 확인되었으며, 500 μg/mL 이상의 농도에서는 위암 세포를 제외한 조사된 4종류의 암세포(폐암, 유방암, 간암 및 대장암 세포)의 증식을 85-90% 억제하는 우수한 활성이 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 마늘 가공 과정에서 쓰레기로 버려지고 있는 마늘껍질은 70% 에탄올 추출을 통해 유방암(MCF-7), 폐암(A549), 위암(AGS), 유방암(MCF-7) 및 간암(Hep3B) 세포의 성장을 억제하는 활성 물질로서의 재활용 가치가 높은 것으로 확인되었다.

        Background : The P. ginseng breeding line G07006, was selected for salt tolerance through salinity screening of mature leaves at the NIHHS of the RDA in 2014-2016. However, it is difficult to maintain a genetically stable breeding line of cross-pollinating crop in the field. Therefore molecular marker required to identify and maintain breeding line G07006. Methods and Results : DNA was extracted following the CTAB DNA extraction protocol (Doyle and Doyle, 1987) with modifications. A pair-end (PE) library was constructed and sequenced using an Illumina MiSeq platform by Lab Genomics, Inc. (Seongnam, Korea). Approximately 4.0 Gb of sequencing data were obtained, and de novo assembled by a CLC genome assembler(v. beta 4.6, CLC Inc., Rarhus, Denmark). The complete chloroplast(CP) genome size is 156,356 bp, including two inverted repeats (IRs) of 52,060 bp, separated by the large single-copy (LSC 86,174 bp) and small single-copy (SSC 18,122 bp) regions. This CP genome encodes 114 unigenes (80 protein-coding genes, four rRNA genes, and 30 tRNA genes), in which 18 are duplicated in the IR regions. Conclusion : This complete chloroplast DNA sequence will provide conducive to discriminate line G070006 (salt-tolerant) and further enhancing genetic improvement program of this important medical plant.

        This study is to investigate the ultimate strength and curling influence of single shear two bolted connection with 7075-T6 aluminum alloys. The validation of element analysis was verified through the comparison between test result and finite element analysis prediction and strength reduction rate by curling was estimated quantitatively. Moreover, additional parametric analysis with extended variables was conducted and the conditions of curling occurrence according to end distance and edge distance were proposed.

        A new rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) variety ‘Jungmo 7003’ is with early flowering and disease tolerance, which has white petals. ‘Jungmo 7003’ was developed from the cross between ‘Tower’ as female parent and ‘AB130’ as male parent in 1983. The selection for advanced lines with white flower had been done by the pedigree method. A promising line, ‘83025-B-1-1-2’, was selected and designated as the name of ‘Mokpo113’. It had good results from regional adaptation yield trials at four locations for two years from 2013 to 2014 and was released as the name of ‘Jungmo 7003’. ‘Jungmo 7003’ has light-green and middle parted leaf, light-green stem and black seed coat. Since, the prominent very special trait of ‘Jungmo 7003’ is white flower, it can be used for landscaping purposes created farm-art images. The flowering date of ‘Jungmo 7003’ was 16th April and ripening date was 5th June. The yield of ‘Jungmo 7003’ was 207 kg/10a, which was 6% lower than ‘Hanlayuchae' in regional adaptation trials. ‘Jungmo 7003’ showed high resistance to screrotium. The oil content of ‘Jungmo 7003’ was 43.8%. In fatty acid composition of ‘Jungmo 7003’, oleic acid content is 68.4%, which is 1.2% higher than ‘Hanlayuchae'. ‘Jungmo 7003’ will be adaptable to southwestern area including Jeonllanam-do, Jeollabuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeju island of Korea.

        Background : Osteoclasts as multinucleated cells originate from hematopoietic monocyte/ macrophage precursor cell, shows the bone absorption through the commitment, differentiation, fusion, and bone resorption stages by regulation of M-CSF and RANKL. It has been reported a significant negative correlation between the increase of oxidative stress and the bone density, and when RANKL reaction to the osteoclasts precursor cells is mainly generated ROS is due to increased activity of NADPH oxidase1 (NOX1), and these ROS act as a factor which promotes osteoclasts differentiation. Thus, RANKL signaling process is important that excessive osteoclast formation and differentiation inhibited through the regulation of each step. Methods and Results : F3570 ethanol extract showed relatively high activity at in-vitro antioxidant activity. F3570 water extract inhibited ROS generation in RAW 264.7 cells stimulated with H2O2 and RANKL, even at low concentrations. The inhibitory effect of osteoclast differentiation on F3570 water extract was confirmed that shown through NF-κB pathway, MAPK pathway including ERK and JNK. F3570 ethanol extract is considered to be regulated by the p38 MAPK and the other signaling pathway. Also, F3570 both water and ethanol extract were significantly reduced gene expression such as TRAP, calcitonin receptors and integrin β3 of RANKL-induced mature osteoclast in the bone resorption stage. Conclusion : Through this study, F3570 extract revealed an outstanding inhibitory effect and signaling mechanisms in osteoclast differentiation induced by RANKL. These results suggest that F3570 is bone diseases associated with aging or osteoporosis caused by menopause in an aging society is expected to be a superior candidate for the treatment or the prevention

        This study investigates the ultimate strength and curling influence in single shear bolted connection with 7075-T6 aluminum alloys using numerical approach. The applicability of finite element analysis was validated through the comparison between existing test results and numerical predictions. Curling was observed in some specimens with a relatively long end distance and reduced the ultimate strength of bolted connection. Strength reduction ratio by curling was estimated quantitatively and it is known that curling caused the strength reduction by maximum 21%.

        Heat shock protein (HSP) 70, the highly conserved stress protein families, plays important roles in protecting cells against heat and other stresses in most animal species. In the present study, we identified and characterized four Hsp70 (RuHSP4, RuHSC70, RuHSP12A, RuGRP78) family proteins based on the expressed sequence tag (EST) analysis of the Korean rose bitterling R. uyekii cDNA library. The deduced RuHSP70 family has high amino acid identities of 72-99% with those of other species. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that RuHsp70 family clustered with fish groups (HSP4, HSC70, HSP12A, GRP78) proteins. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis showed the specific expression patterns of RuHsp70 family members in the early developmental stages and several tissues in Korean rose bitterling. The expression of 4 groups of Hsp70 family was detected in all tested tissue. Particularly, Hsp70 family of Korean rose bitterling is highly expressed in hepatopancreas and sexual gonad (testis and ovary). The expression of Hsp70 family was differentially regulated in accordance with early development stage of Rhodeus uyekii.

        ‘중모 7002’는 유채 중간모본으로 1984년에 ‘RS10//Erra/Tower’를 모본으로 하고, ‘RS10’을 부본으로 하여 인공교배하여 육성하였다. ‘중모 7002’는 엽형은 하부익상전렬으로 결각은 중간이며, 잎색은 짙은 녹색, 줄기색은 갈색이 섞인 녹색, 꽃색은 황색, 종피색은 흑색이다. ‘중모 7002’의 개화기(4월 16일)와 성숙기(6월 9일)는 ‘한라유채’와 비슷하였으나, 개화초기에 일시에 개화하는 개화균일도가 매우 좋았으며, 도복저항성도 ‘한라유채’에 비하여 좋게 나타났다. ‘중모7002’의 수량은 지역적응시험 결과 10 a당 247 kg로 ‘한라유채’의 208 kg에 비해 16% 증수되었다. ‘중모 7002’의 기름함량은 44.3%이고, 올레인산의 함량은 70.8%로 ‘한라유채’에 비하여 각각 0.5%와 3.3% 높게 나타났으며, 구루코시노레이트 함량은 1.91 mg/g으로 국제허용기준치인 3.0 mg/g 이하로 나타났다. ‘중모 7002’의 재배적지는 우리나라의 서남부지역인 전라남도, 전라북도, 경상남도 및 제주특별자치도이다.
