        This paper presents design concept as well as trial products to develop hybrid reinforcing polymer bars. The objective of this study is to develop a viable hybrid FRP bar for concrete structures, especially for marine and waterfront concrete structures. Three different types of hybrid FRP bar were considered in the development. Using E-glass fibers, unsaturated polyester resins, and conventional steel bar, hybrid GFRP bar samples of 9 mm and 13 mm in diameter were fabricated as the trial products. The results obtained in the pultrusion process of the trial products are discussed in this paper

        In this paper, a finite element analysis to design hybrid reinforcing polymer bars was presented. Two different types of hybrid FRP bar were considered in finite element modeling. To offer the necessity and validity of finite element modeling for the hybrid reinforcing polymer bars, shape and material properties were assumed. Input conditions for analyzing the hybrid reinforcing polymer bars using FEM were verified. Using the results of the finite element analysis, the hybrid reinforcing polymer bars were optimally designed and the results are presented in this paper..

        The objective of this study is about hollow core slab with GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced plastics) Reinforcing bar instead of using deformed bar. This experiment is planed because using GFRP Reinforcing bar instead of tension bar in existing RC hollow core slab will improve not only on the constructability but also on the durability by solving the corrosion of slab. As the result of the experimental study, GFRP Reinforcing bar and additional deformed bar appear to be superior compared to RC hollow core slab in structural ability.

        This study is to understand the flexural behaviors of hollow core beam using GFRP reinforcing Bar. The ultimate goal of this study is to apply the hollow core slab using GFRP reinforcing bar in a construction site. To achieve this, five specimens is planned and conducted on experimental study. The shape and size of specimen are rectangular shape of cross section with 210mm x 230mm. As a results of test, to add deformed bar in hollow core beam using GFRP reinforcing bar demonstrated superior flexural performance. Therefore hollow core beam using GFRP reinforcing bar is considered appropriate to apply in the field.

        This research was conducted to investigate the influence of various organic substrates on growth and yield of ginseng seedling grown organically in the closed plastic house. The pH and EC of substrates used for organically ginseng cultivation ranged 5.93~6.78 and 0.03~0.15 dS/m respectively. The concentrations NH4-N and NO3-N respectively was 14.01~68.63 mg/L, 5.60~58.83 mg/L. The average quantum of the closed plastic house was range from 10 to 16% of natural light. In July and August, the maximum temperature of the closed plastic house did not exceed 30 and the average temperature was maintained within 25 lower than the field because air conditioning ran. The PPV-1 and PPV-2 bed soil substrates produced higher stem length, stem diameter, shoot fresh weight and leaf area than those of conventional culture. In PPV-2 bed soil substrates, root fresh weight and root diameter was the highest. The root fresh weight of PPV-2 bed soil substrates in closed plastic house was maximum 25% heavier than the conventional cultivation. The results of this experiment will be utilized for making new substrate application for organic ginseng culture in the plastic house.

        To develop the practical cultivation for paddy field, we investigated the properties of paddy soil, growth characteristics and ginsenoside content of 6-year-old ginseng, Cheonpung variety between poor drainage class (PDC) and imperfect drainage class (IDC). Groundwater level in PDC showed monthly small changes of 20~30 cm, while IDC showed monthly great changes of 28~71 cm depending on rainfall. Soil moisture content in PDC and IDC was 17.2%, 22.5%, respectively. Air temperature in IDC was lower than 0.3℃, while soil temperature was higher than 0.8℃ compare to PDC, respectively. Main soil color of PDC was grayish olive, while IDC was brownish olive. PDC showed yellowish mottles only at underground of 20~40 cm, while IDC showed that at underground of 30~90 cm. IDC showed lower pH, EC, potassium, calcium and magnesium content, but higher organic matter, phosphate, and iron content than that of PDC, respectively. All of EC, organic matter, potassium, calcium, and magnesium content were decreased, but iron content was increased at the subsoil layers of PDC. All of EC, organic matter, phosphorus, and potassium content were decreased, but calcium and magnesium content were increased at the subsoil layers of IDC. Root yield in IDC was more increased by 33% than that of PDC. The moisture content and rusty ratio of ginseng root in IDC were lower than that of PDC. Ginsenoside content in IDC was higher than that of PDC because the ratio of lateral and fine root showing relatively high content of ginsenoside was higher in IDC than that of PDC.

        An important factor in the production of organic ginseng is the control of Alternaria blight and anthracnose, which mostly affect the leaves in the summer. We compared the effects of a lime-bordeaux mixture (LBM) and agricultural chemicals on the growth characteristics and ginsenoside content in 4-year-old ginseng plants when they were sprayed at 15-day intervals from mid-June to the end of September. The increases in leaf length, and survive-leaf ratio in plants sprayed with LBM were greater than the increases of the control plants, but less than those of agricultural chemicals treatment. The root weight per plant in the plants sprayed with LBM increased more distinctly than that in the control plants, while it was significantly lower than that in plants sprayed with agricultural chemicals. The root yield in plants sprayed with LBM increased by 21% compared to the root yield in the control plants, but decreased by 7% compared to that in plants sprayed with agricultural chemicals because of the decreases in leaf area and survive-leaf ratio. Spraying of LBM had a significant effect on the ginsenoside contents. The total ginsenoside content was highest in the control plants and lowest in the plants sprayed with agricultural chemicals and total ginsenoside contents was great relative to survive-leaf ratio and root weight.

        This study was conducted to develop a portable quality evaluation system of bee-honey by near infrared spectroscopic technique. Two kinds of bee-honeys from acacia and polyflower sources were tested in this study. The system consists of power supply, tungsten-halogen lamp, detector, and optical fiber probe. Performance of the system was analyzed by comparing the prediction accuracy of the laboratory spectrophotometer. Total of 346 spectra was divided into a calibration set and a prediction set. The PLS (Partial Least Squares) models were developed to predict the quality parameters of bee-honeys. Reflectance spectra, moisture contents, ash, invert sugar, sucrose, F/G ratio, HMF(hydroxy methyl furfural), and ratio of honeys were measured. The PLS models of the laboratory spectrophotometer showed good relationships between predicted and measured quality parameters of honeys in the wavelength range of 1.100~2.200 nm. The PLS analysis of the portable quality evaluation system showed good relationships between predicted and measured quality parameters of honeys in the wavelength range of 1.100~1.300 nm and 1.400~1.700 nm. The results showed the feasibility of the portable quality evaluation system to determine the quality parameters of bee-honey in the field during harvesting.

        This study was carried out to investigate the physicochemical characteristics of 3-year-old ginseng (for Samgyetang product) cultured by various seeding density in direct-sowing culture. Ginsengs were cultured by the seeding density, 275, 300, 330 352 and 396 seeds per Kan, 180×90cm area. Survived rate (82.1%) were the highest in plot of 352 seeds sowed, length and leaf width were high in plot of 300 and 352 seeds. Root yield grain was increased with increase of the seeding density in direct-sowing culture except 352 seeds sowed. Average root weight and diameter were the highest in plot of 352 seeds sowed, 31.6 g and 18.4 mm, respectively. Crude saponin and each ginsenosides content were the highest in plot of 275 seeds sowed. Rg1 content was decreased, Rc and Rb2 content were increased with increase of the seeding density. Total soluble sugar content was the highest in plot of 330 seeds sowed and the lowest in plot of 396 seeds sowed, and oligo- and disaccaride content were high in plot of 330 and 352 seeds sowed. Reological characteristics of ginsengs cultivated according to various seeding density, hardness and springness were high and maximum fracture force was low with decrease of the seeding quantity.

        This study was carried out to investigate the correlation between root diameter and ginsenoside compositionof Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer cultivar Yunpoong. Dry matter ratio of main root was a little higher than that of lateral rootand fine root, and that was higher by the increase of root diameter in the same root parts. Total ginsenosides composition ofmain and lateral roots increased by the decrease of root diameter, especially in lateral root. Similar resulted in fine root, butthere was no significant difference where root diameter was below 2.5㎜. Except for ginsenoside-Rg1, other ginsenosidescomponent, PDs, PTs and total ginsenosides had highly negative correlation with the root diameter within whole root, mainroot+lateral root and lateral root+fine root, while Rg1 had positive correlation with the root diameter.

        녹차 품질평가의 한 요인이 되는 색도 평가 시 기존 평가 방법인 육안평가 혹은 색차 분석에 의존하고 있는 현행 분석방법을 신속, 간편하며 재현성이 높고, 녹차 품질관련 기타 성분과 동시분석이 가능한 녹차 색차 분석용 NIRS 검량식을 작성한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 공시된 녹차 시료를 대상으로 색차계를 이용하여 색도 값(L, a, b)을 조사한 결과 검량식 작성용 시료는 L값이 평균 53.37(48.52~57.72 ), a값이 평균 -7.55(-10.02~-4.63 ), b 값이 평균 18.07(14.00~22.02 )을 나타내었고, 작성 검량식의 평가용으로 이용된 예견치 분석용 시료와 거의 동일한 범위를 나타내었다. 2. 녹차의 색차 분석용 NIRS 검량식을 검토한 결과 색차 중 명도에 해당하는 L 값은 원시 스펙트럼에 2차 미분(2nd derivative, 8 nm gap, 6 points smoothing, 1 point second smoothing)을 수행한 조건에서 R2 = 0.936으로 가장 우수한 양상을 나타내었고, 적색에 해당되는 색차 a값과 황색에 해당하는 b값은 1차 미분(1st derivative, 4 nm gap, 4 points smoothing, 1 point second smoothing)조건에서 R2 가 각각 0.991 및 0.958로 가장 우수한 결과를 나타내었다. 3. 최적의 녹차 색차 분석용으로 작성된 각각의 NIRS 검량식을 미지시료에 적용하여 정확성을 평가한 결과 색도값 L, a 및 b의 결정계수는 각각 0.905, 0.986 및 0.931로 매우 높은 상관을 보였으며, 이들 검량식은 향후 NIRS를 이용한 녹차 관련 연구 및 녹차 산업현장에서 품질관리를 위한 효율적 분석방법으로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

        A major history textbook for high schools, A Modern History of Korea for High School (Seoul: Kumsung Publishing House, 2007) described that Protestantism in Korea supported Japanese invasion to Korea. The text book has been used for many years by more than 50% high schools in South Korea. The argument of this book is very important because it might influence over high school students who think that the text book should always be correct. However, Protestantism in Korea was not the supporter of the Japan Empire in the turn-of-twentieth century Asia. In reality, Korea Protestantism had been appeared by Korean people as defender of Korean people against Japanese power. At that time Korea protestantism had been closely related to America which send their missionaries to Korea and helped its modernization. When Japan tried to put Korea in her power, King KoJong sent his envoy to the president Roosevelt of USA for help to maintain his independence. In reality, Japan government had considered Korean Protestantism as big obstacle for its rule over Korea. Japan had always be afraid of Korean Christianity and spied over it. Japanese army in 1911 arrested 105 important Christian leaders to destroy Korean churches. Also, in the last years of Japan imperialism, Japan governor-general of Korea expelled American missionaries from Korean peninsular to disconnect Korean Christian relationship with America. Finally, missionaries tried to maintain the principle of separation between church and state in Korea. They did not involve in political matter either on Korean nationalism or Japanese imperialism. This attitude of missionaries could not be satisfied with Japanese as well as Korean. However, they thought that their original mission in Korea is evangelization, but not independent movement of Korea.

        인삼의 생장에서 염류의 집적은 우량 인삼의 생산에 많은 장애요인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 순계 분리된 인삼의 우수 계통으로부터 NaCl 처리에 따른 생장율 조사와 ginsenoside의 생산에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 선발된 모상근(KGHR-8)으로부터 ginsenosides의 함량에 미치는 NaCl의 최적 농도를 조사하기 위하여 30일간 배양한 결과 NaCl의 농도가 증가함에 따라 모상근의 생장은 감소하였지만, total ginsenoside의 함량은 0.24M NaCl 처리구에서 높은 증가를 가져왔으며 특히 광을 조사하여 배양한 결과 높게 검출되었다. 0.24 M NaCl 농도로 광상태하에서 함량은 61.7% 증가하는 양상을 나타내었다. (Table 1). 또한 모상근의 생장을 최적 상태로 설정하기 위해 two step culture 방법을 조사한 결과, 0.05M, 0.1M NaCl 처리시 모상근의 생장율은 각각 약 62%, 76% 감소한 반면, ginsenoside의 함량은 29%, 48% 각각 향상되었다. 모상근은 방어기작의 일환으로 NaCl을 elicitor로 인지하고 2차대사산물인 사포닌의 생산에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

        검정콩 종피에 함유된 안토시아닌의 색소별 함량을 비파괴적으로 신속하게 분석하기 위하여 NIRS(근적외선 분광분석기)를 이용한 모델을 개발하였다. 재료는 검정콩 유전자원 300 계통을 사용하였으며, HPLC에서 분석된 종피의 안토시아닌 함량치를 NIRS 스펙트럼에 적용시킨 후 검량식을 작성하였다. NIRS의 검량식을 몇 가지 방법에 의하여 비교 분석한 결과 1차미분된 스펙트럼을 MPLS(Modified Partial Least Squares)를 이용한 회귀식에 이용하는 것이 가장 적합하였다. HPLC를 이용한 유전자원들의 성분 함량과 NIRS에서 도출된 검량식과의 상관계수는 C3G, D3G 및 Pt3G가 각각 0.952, 0.936과 0.833을 나타내었다. 이들 검량식은 validation file에서도 C3G와 D3G는 0.897, 0.849의 높은 상관을 보였으며, 이는 NIRS를 이용하여 검정콩의 안토시아닌 함량을 신속하게 분석할 수 있음을 나타내는 것으로 판단되었다.

        토양수분함량이 묘삼의 생육특성 및 수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 비가림 시설하우스에서 토양수분을 100~400mbar 수준으로 조절하여 시험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 광합성량은 토양수분의 감소에 따라 차차 감소되었는데, 토양수분이 매우 적은 조건에서는 뚜렷이 감소되었다. 2. 광합성량은 25℃보다 30℃에서 뚜렷이 감소되었으며, 광포화점은 온도에 따라 차이를 보여 25℃에서는 약 600μmol/m2/s로 높았으나 30℃에서는 약 300μmol/m2/s로. 낮아졌다. 3. 증산량은 광량이 증가할수록 증가하고 토양수분이 감소할수록 감소되었는데, 토양수분이 많았던 처리에서는 온도에 관계없이 고광조건에서 증산량이 매우 많았으나 30℃의 고온과 400 mbar의 낮은 토양수분 조건에서는 상대적으로 큰 폭의 감소를 보였다. 4. 엽장, 엽폭, 엽록소함량 및 잎의 수분함량은 토양수분의 감소에 따라 차차 감소되었으며, 고온장해율은 토양수분이 감소될수록 뚜렷이 증가되었다. 5. 총근중, 주당근중 및 본포에 이식이 가능한 묘삼의 수량성은 토양수분의 감소에 따라 뚜렷이 감소되어 묘삼생산에 적합한 토양수분함량은 용수량의 63% (절대수분함량 18.9%) 수준이었다.
